I'm almost done with my entry. It was looking too dark, so I added an extra level of highlights and it looks much better. Just have to finish his sword.

So here we are, my rescue shelter marine became a bit of a gag.
He’s a 30k legionnaire who needed a new leg so I had a think about some of technology that might have been lost over the years. The kind of thing you just don’t see in Space Marine armies these days.
Ladies and gents I give you,
Iron Within, Iron without (a point)
Everyone’s seen the ubiquitous oversized Power Fist but did you know there used to be The Power Boot!
And this side just to show my freehand attempt at an Iron Warriors icon.
But that’s not all! Oh no. The lost files of the admech have also furnished us with this prototype pattern Chain Foot!
Capable cutting a swathe through the enemy as you advance.
But what of the standing defender?
The Omnisiah says one less leg is but an opportunity for one more BOLTER!
You only need one leg to Stand and Fire!
So that’s my entry.
Spoiler:
But just one more bonus pic for a laugh. (This one comes from the mind of my ten year old son)
And then there’s that little known gene-enhanced ability the power fart. Armour variants to allow for this to be deployed were later exploited by tyranids and the development of this deadly ability was abandoned.
Parp!

You know, the ironic thing with these protest entries is that the Eldar live in space-faring ships (at least the Craftworld ones do) so technically, by the rules of the theme... they are actually space marines!
With that, here's my entry: Warpsmith Uhl'Odoff Mamand. His two pals behind him are just there to offer moral support, they aren't part of my entry.
EDIT: Please disregard the photos I put here before - I wasn't satisfied that the camera work had done the model justice. My actual entry is later in the thread.

We will show these Marine painters what we are made of.
Cheers,
CB
Do you hear the miniaturists sing?
Singing the song of angry painters?
It is the music of the people
Who will not paint marines again! When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is art about to start
When tomorrow comes!
Arg, you guys! With these Eldar! How can the precious armoured meat-heads cope with such effortless style and classic character? It’s like you’re shining a light on the true heart of why we all fell in love with 40k in the first place! (In the 90’s that is)

Second Edition metal Eldar models are what brought me into 40K back in the 90's...

I actually got my entry done with time to spare. Here are my final photos of Sergeant Castus, of the Blood Ravens 5th Company:
Definitely happy with how this one turned out. I really enjoy painting the Blood Ravens paint scheme once in a while, as it gives me a break from all the Dark Angels and Space Wolves (or all the yellow Battle Sisters from last year...). Lots of cool entries coming in, even if some of them are perfidious space elves instead of proper Space Marines...
My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 40 | Current main painting project: Tomb Kings

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.
Grotsnik Corp. Sorry, No Refunds.

So I finally had opportunity to get this undercoated and primed and in my excitement, forgot to take a “before” photo, but it’s still only one colour, so technically a compliant proof. Anyway, someone called for Space Marines, so Check. It. Out.
