I wouldn't mind one either. I'm still working on finishing up the base and smoke/exhaust, plus some final touchups and nuancing, so depending on how long that takes, I may be squeezing in some photos around 1 or 2 am EST on Friday.

Shouldn't you be able to look at all the entries and tell what the theme is? Some of these suggestions are so broad that you could paint any model in existence and find a way to tie it to the contest theme. I would personally much rather see themes like "space marines". People complaining that they don't play space marines aren't really getting the point of painting contests.

To add to Flinty's point: this isn't a painting contest, with winners and trophies and prize money. It's a chance for hobbyists to challenge themselves, and part of the challenge is to finish something that fits the theme. That's why the challenge for March is "Space Marines" as opposed to "an official GW Adeptus Astartes in a Codex-approved color scheme." The former allows (for example) for Aliens-inspired soldiers, Star Trek Redshirts, or even representatives of the various non-human opponents who regularly fight Space Marines in 40K. The latter would actively exclude a lot of hobbyists, myself included, who either don't own or don't want to paint GW Space Marine models.

Oh man was this model ever a slog, but I think the payoff was worth it. I had to spread this thing out over 6 days? just to keep my sanity, working in bursts of a few hours and taking lots of breaks.

I'll turn in my entry (or at least try my best to do so...) today, i'll be doing some painting this afternoon...

Absolutely! I throw a vote to absolutely anything than makes me smile, for any reason. I know it’s a painting challenge but i’ll happily vote for a great idea even if it’s not a great paint job. I don’t vote for my own entries though, even though you can it’s obviously a bit hollow if you win that way.

Not sure if there is an established forum voting etiquette but that’s how I’ve been rolling.
