There’s plenty stuff to go before they need to do Mk1, which was the kit of the Thunder Warrior.

Legion specific pads, heads and units in plastic. Loads of tanks. Maybe even Legion specific weapon upgrades.

MkIV, MkV.

But Thunder Armour? The clue is in its name. It’s most associated with the Thunder Warriors.

It also had multiple drawbacks from an operational point of view. It wasn’t enclosed. It wasn’t fully powered.

As has been demonstrated above? At least a few Astartes still wore it out of preference. But once Terra and the Sol System had been unified? It was MkII ago-go. It was, not to put fine a point on it? A better, more practical and superior in everyway bit of kit. Not least due to the Black Carapace and its interface.

Something I'd really like to see shortly is the Iron Circle Automata refreshed. I'm not in the Heresy era for Marines, but the Iron Warriors are growing on me.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Iron Circle could be an alt sprue for the domitar/arlatax when they get around to it.

Oh it's definitely coming eventually. So long as this game keeps selling, GW will scrape the bottom of the barrel for releases. I am more worried about the stuff they'll have to make up wholesale to keep releases going, rather than just refresh and release stuff that doesn't have miniatures yet (since who knows whether that'll be good).

I don't think MK1 is coming any time soon though. It's definitely going to be the last main mark to arrive and I kind of doubt it'll get a full squad box.

Uh, you do know that it's all made up don't you?
The only difference is whether it was made up 20+ years ago, or this year.

Obviously. What did you think I meant?

Spoilers if you can't guess.

Spoiler:
I like the stuff that exists. I don't know if I'll like the new stuff they'll make up. That is why it's an uncertain element. The old stuff was also made up, but it worked well, whereas no one knows if the new stuff will until it arrives.

GW definitely has a new vibe behind the designs than what the old Forgeworld team brought.

Look at the newest releases - it's exactly like what we already had, except bigger! And they've all got unique meaningless-technobabble-name guns. *Yawn*.

I think if you're an old salt from the Forgeworld studio days you're unlikely to enjoy any new GW units.

Rumours are are about GW legion plastic kits. I can see it, but also such a project would take about 5 years at their present releaes-date and I just don't think GW will see the value compared to creating more generic stuff. At best I could see them start creating kits for the most popular Legions then get bored and move on when they start having to make units for the less popular legions.

I do think it's a mix. Saturnines are very weird, but the Araknae, while somewhat unexciting, is also profoundly inoffensive - it's just one of probably hundreds if not thousands of different patterns and subtypes of stationary defence guns across the Imperium.

The Auxilia sentinels are smash hits too, they're very characterful.

Big reveal this Monday. Wonder what it is.

The wording makes it sound like a new superheavy sized thing, if not bigger..

Solar aux superheavies?
Wave 2 Custodes?
Dark Mechanicum?

I doubt thunderhawk or warhound, they would save those for a time that didn't compete with a new 40k edition.

The Warhound isn't HH exclusive nor something you normally field outside some special missions. So it's of course the Emperor and a new edition.

Okay, propably something else. It's just one day so I'm too lazy to guess. I hope Dark Mechanicum announcement but be prepared for something I don't care.

I hope BattleFleet Gothic during Horus Heresy. The recent trailer shows the Emperor (but I don't think He will ever be released) and huge ships jumping in the warp.

Please please no

let BFG at least be in the 40K era.

I don't want a 3 fleet game, which is what the 30k era would be. 1 Imperial; 1 Mechanicum; 1 Space Marines. Keeping in mind that for all the subfactions in those groups; the fleets would be the same models. Heck you don't even get the iconic gothic Imperial ships because those come later for the Imperium - everything would be a "chaos" oldstyle ship from 40K era.

If it's any comfort, the Victory- and Emperor-class battleships are at least are confirmed Heresy-era tech.

If GW did Battlefleet Heresy they would just walk back that particular lore. Like they have done with basically every bit of timeline lore.

I honestly think the plastic warhound rumours are the most likely match though. Given the "huge" reveal

Warhound would make sense as a holiday release, not close to a 40k ed launch. People wouldn't be able to afford both close together.

There are also mechanicum Knights. New styrix/magaera with posable legs?

Not sure "huge reveal" automatically implies a physically huge model.

Yeah more likely its hints or previews or such for the post-new boxed set models coming for both factions or one of them.

Or a big teaser and a campaign system like they had with Leviathan where one faction "wins" to get the full reveal early.

Err... why should they release a really huge plastic kit - larger than any other yet - that is obviously also for 40k specifically for HH?
