I guess GW did succeed in reducing the size of the leaks.

I don't think they've abandoned it, its just something that they realise isn't going to be a feature they can roll out for every army for every update. The armies that don't have them seem to be creative outliers. Orruks and Cities of Sigmar were both more rescue battletomes for 2.0 (cities especially) and I get the feeling GW just wasn't quite sure what to do with either. Orruks got some new grimmer, darker orks but their lore is still very much 40K orks in fantasy right now. Cities are set to get a big update upcoming which will be interesting to see; esp as Cities was billed as the united races force and yet it seems to just be the humans getting an update.

Sometimes GW is really strange in how they will do X for every faction and then not do X for two or three factions almost at random. Or suddenly abandon X and start doing Y.

I do wonder if sometimes its budget or management or if the whole "creative led" element has a backfire when no one, or no one popular/skilled/pushy enough ends up doing a specific army and that army gets "left behind" .

Maybe a revamp of the old RT dreads or robots?

I'm hoping that the micro blurr-pic is a dreadnought, mech suit, or robot for the LoV. Flesh out out the range a bit. We're going to see in about 48th hours.

Nurgle didn't get any, even when the other four flavours (including Khorne!) did. That always struck me as odd.

Cities was always a stop-gap until they can replace the legacy model ranges. Doesn't surprise me that they don't have any. Orcs not having any is a surprise though.

It's their paradigm shifts. They can't go a full edition without a singular design goal in mind. We're seeing it right now in 9th Edition 40k.

I'm pretty sure it is as well. It would be so funny if it wasn't though. Imagine Mantic suing GW for IP violation, not to mention all the people using the vastly cheaper Mantic model.

Will be fun to see new stuff for giant giants. Will be fun to see the price increase that goes hand in hand with it.

They'd probably use it as a marketing opportunity. You know, why wait years for GW to make something you can get from us right now and all that.

Faction terrain pieces seem to be in a similar boat, too. In fact, I'm just bored enough to wrestle with the GW site for long enough for a quick survey - any inaccuracies are due to their store...

Spoiler:

Has Endless Spells & Faction Terrain
- Fyreslayers
- Lumineth Realm-lords***
- Sylvaneth
- Beasts of Chaos
- Blades of Khorne
- Hedonites of Slaanesh
- Skaven
- Flesh-eater Courts
- Ossiarch Bonereapers
- Gloomspite Gitz

Has Endless Spells but no Faction Terrain
- Daughters of Khaine
- Stormcast Eternals
- Slaves to Dorkness
- Nighthaunt
- Disciples of Tzeentch*

Has Faction Terrain but no Endless Spells
- Idoneth Deepkin
- Lizardmen
- Maggotkin of Nurgle
- Ogor Mawtribes

Has neither Endless Spells nor Faction Terrain
- Cities of Sigmar
- Kharadron Overlords
- Soulblight Gravelords
- Orruk Warclans
- Sons of Behemat**

* - As an aside, is it just me, or does the Disciples of Tzeentch tab really not want to load? Ended up having to skim everything in the Grand Alliance Chaos when looking for the units for that one...
** - Admittedly, I'm not sure if Endless Spells (or an equivalent) really fit with the faction, but what do I know?
*** - Who also have too many releases for as new a faction as they are, especially compared to the likes of DoK, Fyreslayers, Idoneth & Kharadron - High Elf favoritism strikes again...

I make it 10 factions missing Faction Terrain, 9 missing Endless Spells (or equivalents) - reduce that to 9 & 8 if you want to exclude the Giants from either. Both seem to be fairly open goals in terms of sales, and some of them shouldn't be that hard to come up with concepts for, surely?

Honestly there's no reason for any of them really to be missing anything, except perhaps Gargants and Endless Spells as I don't think they have any casters at all right now?

But yeah in general there's no reason or pattern. Heck some of the terrain features are also impractical. Eg the Ossiarch Bonereapers one is designed to sit in the middle of the battlefield, yet its freaking massive.

There is a rumour about a Furibundus Dreadnought for HH. But this is from a guy names Mikhael posted on the comments in a Valrak LiveStream.

It's funny that tiny pixelated fake 40k leaks are better marketing for Mantic products than what Mantic does.

Yeah. That mini clearly doesn't fit with the Votann aesthetic. For one thing, the pilot has a beard.

The next underworlds warband is Khorne. It doesn't necessarily mean worldeaters though that does seem likely.

Yes, and yet he also said ''It doesn't necessarily mean World Eaters though that does seem likely.''. WE are not in AoS so it was probable he meant KT/40k.

Apologies for paraphrasing. I meant that the Khorne symbol could just refer to the Khorne Warhammer underworlds warband that we've already seen one model for (and will potentially feature a new kind of Khorne Deamon by the way), but that there's a good chance that we will also see some stuff for Worldeaters as we've already seen the leaked and then revealed Angron and the slightly more official Bezerker preview.
Edit -check out the guy crouching on the bridge. Apparently the model will look a bit like the Deamon Brutes from Horus Heresy.
