Yeah, same boat for me as well. The new Cadians are definitely better than the OG kit that they've semi-refurbished with the new upgrade sprue, but I was never a huge fan of their design compared to the other guard regiments, Kasrkin aside. I'm hoping that the Rough Riders have DKoK options in the kit and it's not just regiment-agnostic. Also, given that Krieg are renown as a siege oriented regiment, you would think they would try and connect that with the new artillery they have.
I was hoping that more angles would change my mind for the Sentinels but I'm still not sold on them, the rounded front and leg plates just doesn't match with the classic look of the old one.

While I do like the new Cadian infantry (it totally rocks!), I'll be sticking with my WGA Les Grognards just because of the price point. These new Guardsmen will probably be $60 for 10 guys, and I can't justify that when I can just drop $35 for 24 guys instead. I will, however, need to have some of those big gun emplacements! I'm sure I could figure out a way to make some of the WGA guys work as the crew for those guns (and trade the Cadians to a friend or something).
As for the Juggerlord, I really like it. A nice modernization of a classic metal model (one of which I just happened to acquire on eBay and paint for my 7th edition Khorne Daemonkin many moons ago). It's a good day to be a Blood God worshipper for sure, especially if they really do get a full unit of guys on Juggernauts.
The Kill Team/Boarding Action stuff is cool, but probably irrelevant for me personally. I do like the new Kasrkin and I wonder what kind of 40k rules they'll have (I didn't play back when they were an actual thing in 40k).
No real comment to make on the Dark Mechanicus or whatever the thing at the end is. If it is indeed Chaos related, I won't be getting it as I'm basically strictly Imperium these days (barring a few potential 3d printed armies and/or Leagues of Votann in the future). It would be kind of cool to see Dark Mechanicus in 40k as it's something we haven't really seen in the game yet even though we know they exist.

Arks of Omen sounds interesting, although with the recent obsession with boarding actions one wonders why they haven't announced a new edition of Space Hulk, or even a new 40K Warhammer Quest. Combining BSF and KT'18 was a great idea and it seems lost on the edition of Kill Team. But having a new play mode for 40K is better than glorified codex updates, in regards to end-of-edition supplements.
Out of everything I like the Necron team the best. While its logical to celebrate the anniversary of 40K, I would have thought that "Warhammer Day" would have included the fantasy half as well, at least in looking back. A quick update on The Old World would have been nice regarding the future.
Being biased I liked the Harlequin painting video, on Friday.

Arks of Omen just sounds like 40K Zone Mortalis to me, and I fear it will suffer the same problems as other attempts to translate 30k stuff into 40K, IE: the 40K core rules just aren't deep enough to handle it properly. But I guess we'll see how it works out.

So this weekend saw the anniversary of both 40K (35 yrs) & Mortal Kombat (30 yrs). If I am honest both were pretty lacklustre. GW gave us a few new guardsmen sculpts & NRS a trailer. That was it. Nothing more. Suffice to say this is the definition of low effort.

I think the model reveals were great and perfectly fine for a preview event considering that (esp as we are more and more leaving covid) reveal events come fairly often so they are smaller and accepting that many of the reveals are totally new to a large portion of the playerbase who aren't hounding every single rumour and news snippet they can find online for leaks.
I do agree it was strange of GW to big up the date and then not really have anything save for the 15mins of filler time at the start talking about a few old editions and then launching into previews. I know previews were the main meat for most; but it would have been nice for them to have done perhaps a bit more as part of the day itself to really try and push the nostalgia button. Heck how about a made to order classic model from each army/faction from 2nd edition or a made to order Rogue Trader era or such?
It does seem like someone in marketing had an idea and then no one in management really wanted to put much behind it. Doubly odd that they didn't perhaps delay Golden Demon for a week and have a big celebration of art, painting, model releases, the anniversary, unique models and more and really make it a big event.

I think its preferable to have several (even if smaller) events spread in different weeks then just one big one per month. I think the idea is to keep people talking, engaged and interested in your company as much as possible.

I'm warming to the necron kill team and I'm looking forward to seeing what else is on the sprue that might make building more necron characters easier.
I wish the names weren't quite as silly though and that they hadn't included that same bloody cryptek again! I think I've already got 4 of them.
I hope there are options for including crypteks other than the technomancer within the kill team.

Primaris Terminators are something I'd like to see, too. I don't think we'll get any for Arks, and I'm not even sure they will be a release for the next Marine codex, but still. Would be nice.
I have a hard time figuring out what GW plans on doing with rules for models, though. Are they going to be in the supplement even though GW said they don't include army specific rules in campaign supplements anymore? Or is that just in relation to extra faction rules, relics and the like, and does not cover datasheets? Or are they content with PDFs until next edition's codex comes around to properly publish the rules they release with the supplement?
Somehow I have more questions after the preview than I did before...

Well, I for one was disappointed with the stream. Not the models, they all looked great.
I usually don't watch vids/streams. I much prefer to read the summary afterwards.
This was advertised as the 35th anniversary stream for 40k. I was expecting nostalgia, interviews with old creators, mirth and laughter along the way about how things have changed, anecdotes etc. What I got was an advert for some newly styled IG models - nice though they may be. Was this this really a celebration of 35 years of 40k?
I'll be waiting for summary posts again instead of watching.
I know the new IG models looked better in proportions, but I have a feeling they'll look like giants next to my metal Kasrkin.

It was advertised as a preview stream with new reveals for 40k and kill team, not sure how you interpreted that as a bunch of nostalgia looking back. All that stuff was done separately earlier in the week with the painting tutorials, battle for the farm scenario, etc.

Considering how GW basically didn't touch the internet until AoS failed and they got a new manager, the painting tutorials aren't that old
I think some of us just felt that the big stream that was the highlight and focus of the 35 year celebration could have had more focusing on the past of the game and its history. The other stuff was implied to the be material building up toward the event itself.
Again the reveals were great as is the celebration model. There's no issues there (save for the ever present "we want more reveals"). The issue is more that GW made a song and dance about this being something more than a model reveal and then just did a model reveal. They could have dropped all the whole 35 years and no one would have missed it and just said "here's a new celebration model" or even put that model last week for Golden Demon

If that's the case, then why big up the "35th Anniversary" as if it was something special and out of the ordinary. In the end it was purely another weekly reveal of new models.
I guess GW missed an opportunity here.

Contrarily, if they spent an hour talking about the history of the game, interviews and showing off old models with a couple of previews thrown in, people would be in here complaining at the lack of new information. A pure nostalgia driven show would have likely irritated a larger segment than doing what they did.
I won't lie though, even with the preview show, I was barely whelmed until the final sneak peek. They're suffering from often showing what's obvious/been leaked/out next week and not subtle. There's very little that's either far out or a big surprise in them these days.

On-demand content has become the norm, so I'm perfectly fine with relegating these kinds of niche segments to just that. For live shows, I agree that new reveals should take the spotlight.

The 35th has just felt a bit flaccid.
I mean, what did we actually get? A very nice model, sure. Some retro paint scheme videos. And, I’m afraid that’s about it folks.
No designer commentaries. No particularly pomp and circumstance. An entirely missed opportunity to do Rogue Trader, which they’ve already brought back, as Print to Order.
This kind of feels like a Parent who’s lost track of time, and almost, but not quite, forgotten their kid’s birthday is coming up, and couldn’t arrange anything cool in the remaining time.

Even the model itself is just an odd choice. It looks nice, but as a commemorative model for 35 years, they chose a "classic" piece of not some iconic nostaligic Rogue Trader/2nd/3rd edition art, codex or starter cover art or something along those lines, but a fairly random piece of Black Templars art and even then changed it so much it has a completely different tone and feel?

Yes, yes. 40k, the red-headed, neglected stepchild of Games Workshop. Very sad.
Shame they didn't have a bunch of articles on terrible paint schemes, mediocre versions of classic scenarios, cringe-worthy comparisons of 30 year old models to new ones, and more prize drawings. Hours and hours of current studio members yakking about how much nostalgia that had for when they were kids and everything was new and exciting would have made this week so much better.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. The Black Templars Castellan was meant to be a exclusive model.
His proportions are weird and don't fit in with the rest of marines, the axe is strange, and he's faithful to original artwork. Also, he's a Black Templar, like the 35th anniversary model. I guess GW just wanted another option for a BT HQ and so instead of being a one-off model, the castellan became a permanent BT model
