“Squishy” apparently.
Sure the suit’s pretty tough and so on but it’s still held together by meat. Until the PL learn to do without, Light of Eltharion style, they’re still vulnerable to jellification.

Also, seems like GW is again pushing the "default" price up for these kinda boxes.

It’s not held together by meat. In the descriptions we’ve had of injured Phoenix Lords (e.g. Karandras in Path of the Warrior or in a vignette in WD when the 3rd Ed Codex came out) the suit is empty with the appearance of starlight in the void.
When they take a new host they drain the life out of them to repair themselves, the unfortunate doesn’t physically put the suit on. In the vignette I mentioned, Karandras notes the corpse of the Exarch he’s just absorbed as he walks off.
And Phoenix Lords have always had a higher toughness than other Eldar and wraithbone with nothing inside should be together than flesh with some crystal. And this is the edition where many things have gone up in toughness!

Read the cards before the game. Done.
Warmachine players are already used to this, it is very handy.

He is, as was the Farseer from Valedor. The point is a lot of other characters had their Toughness brought down to the units they are joining, Eldrad is an odd exception. Especially since you probably won't be fielding him alone, and he'll get stuck with the Toughness of the unit he's joining anyways.

What do you think the explanation will be this time for rising costs? They've already used Brexit, COVID, & supply chain breakdowns.

Whatever they're losing on the way, it seems certain they can't really produce stuff fast enough to meet demand, no matter the price.

10% inflation in the UK will be the reason they give (with commensurate cost rises in their staffing bill and across their supply chain).
Ymmv on the legitimacy of this.
But part of it will be supply and demand because they can and it’ll still sell out.

Actually, this time they' d have an valid excuse, the UK got hit hard by inflation... it's just that GW decided to hike prices beforehand no matter what and screw the consequences.
Also the box is lazy, considering the venomcrawler... sorry meant totally new and not already recycled tyranid monster that eats psykers and has nothing similar with the chaotic walking talking psykerbattery. Automatically Appended Next Post: Lord Zarkov wrote:

Which would be fair, compared to past hikes due to supposed increased material cost, f.e. which we know is bs though because WGA at the same time made a funny post about material cost increase on their already massivly cheaper boxes, stating that they'd absorb the increases in cents. And WGA certainly has not the market power that gw does for negotiations about raw material.

The starter box at £150 is a big price, but to me it does seem like it's coming with a lot of cool models and inflation prices here other stuff has had bigger jumps than GW.

Indomitus was £125 for similar mini contents, maybe a little less? This comes with the first GT mission pack cards and the first crusade bundled in, which historically are worth more than £25 combined. It's actually gone down in price comparatively.

In our community multiple marine players don't really want to split the box - they had so many boxes over the last years that their collections and paint queues are full and few of them really need more terminators.
Does anyone else see the same problems in their area?

Back of the envelope, that's 640 pallets at least, each with ~ 300 boxes each, so we're looking at close to 200.000 boxes.
Adding to this, the official pricelist also includes the volume of a Leviathan box. Accounting for a reduction due to packaging, a standard 40ft shipping container should contain around 4,000 to 4,500 boxes assuming nothing else is packed with them. If that's true the US market should have well over 100,000 copies, possibly nearer 150k.

It's more the fact that it is THAT obvious that it got it's 3d assest recycled that annoys me, same for the Warpsmith. (well that and the gimmick goes into the same vein really.) Also, it's basically like a "hand me down" for nids, which frankly isn't really fair for nids. Just as the warpsmith being basically a copy of the primaris techmarine just screams lazy. for the record, i don't think recycling assets is something bad, but they could've atleast repositioned the overall pose a bit ...

Either way, it’s nice to see ol’ ironface being combat viable again. I was slightly confused by the ranged attack of the Wailing Doom being stronger than the strike mode of its melee attacks but then it’s only the one shot.

Starter sets later given. You can make good estimate on models in 3 layers if you want and know sprue split.
No way gw leaves whole edition without starter set.
Of course won't contain all and discount worse.

Also this is 100% going to be a splash release with smaller follow up products. I expect we might see a combat patrol nids + rulebook, a combat patrol marines + rulebook, then a marines CP vs Nids CP box as the larger one.
