Terminators weren't actually mentioned in that article last week. Only dreads / vehicles / support units.

Well how many have got these models so far?

1stborn ones use different(possibly legend) datasheet.

I hope it does not mean 2 datasheets for Warriors, one for ranged and one for cc.

I find it a curious distinction considering that Warriors can and always have, taken ranged and close combat. Heck with the way the kit builds putting two ranged weapons on a warrior doesn't even physically work really.

Odd way for GW to put it, but perhaps Warriors are going to get a prime stat based on their prime weapons. Eg A Ranged Bioweapon warrior group gets a bonus to ranged stats and perhaps a nerf or no bonus to close combat.

With the opposite true for close combat ones.

Thus meaning that they'd focus on one primary weapon group over the other.

Or they will appear when the full datasheets = for all units are revealed?

It most definitely does.

Eh I like this change. It means warriors can be focused on a specific role and shine in either one instead of having a jack of all trades core stat and then lots of biomorphs to price up and add on top. Indeed it looks like Tyranids are losing a lot of the biomorph elements from these dataslates. On the one hand that feels like a down as it means less customising; but on the upside it means a much simpler way to build them. Plus they've a big range of models now, so its actually a LOT less complex to build an army if the prices are not jumping all over the place as you're juggling dozens of models and lots of biomorph combos on them all.

This won't mean Warriors with two guns each. It'll just be two datasheets with different abilities / wargear options, a bit like the Carnifex / Thornback / Screamer-killer rules in the last codex.

The rules for 10e requires [extra attacks] to take advantage of two sets of weapons, so I'd bet on the melee version getting some form of bonus attacks to represent that.

Oof. Sternguard are the only Firstborn unit in my collection. I hope this is just for Leviathan.

Someone stated there's something like 2000 datasheets, which is like 500 to 750 more than exist now. I suspect this is to allow picking characters with certain abilities ( Ahriman vs Ahriman on disc ) among others like this example.

In this system it's a bit less of a problem for play, but certainly makes list building a little more chunky.

These are the Leviathan sheets - not necessarily the full sheets, but we'll know for sure tomorrow.

Could just be 2 sheets to keep the types seperate, and you will have options within those sheets. Doesn't mean that they have been combi-ed (maybe).

Plus side, 6 squads.

Unless somehow, Warriors for cc and ranged, include winged options (keep hoping for Shrikes/Warriors dual kit), Winged Prime will be wasting its Fly and Move 12 being attached to foot Warriors, and wanting to stay within coherency.

Am I missing something with the sternguard vets? Those combi-weapons are going to be irrelevant to anything but MEQ.

Orks, necron immortals, Aberrants, genestealers (inv save), ogryns, terminators...

I think they're a debatable trade in general (or at least not a no-brainer trade), but they have a fair few targets where they can be nasty. They aren't exactly useless against aspect warriors and sisters, either, as the 4+ to wound = mortal wound dodges armor and invulnerable saves as well.

It might well mean a new warrior kit with wings; which if they copy the prime means that wings will be upper arm replacement parts. So warriors would gain flight but lose one weapon option in the process.

A bit of a shame model wise since I kind of hoped if we saw winged warriors they'd go the shriek path of creating a new model with its own unique flying pose and such. That they haven't done it with the prime suggests we'll get grounded winged warrior models as default. Not a huge loss but not a huge gain and it does mean we get a winged option to take into battle.

IT also means that the prime in the boxed set might just be a unique pose and that the warrior kit itself will let you build a prime with wings, which then gives you weapon options for a ranged prime with wings.

They were mentioned in a Facebook post when asked about the Relic Contemptor that's in the Codex. This is just allowing them to attach to Legends units.

Yup, they mentioned Firstborn Legends Sternguard at one point.

Sternguard look really good though. I don't know that I'd want to swap into combi weapons. Losing a shot each, BS AND AP, plus assault and heavy for anti-infantry mortals wound is a pretty big trade.

At over rapid fire range combi weapon bit better vs 3+/2+/t5 or better. Getting into rapid fire range helps combi weapon even more.

I'd guess model reveals - maybe something Tyranid one day and something Marine the other.

Seems unlikely. They're saving the model reveals for after the Oghram contest.

In our community multiple marine players don't really want to split the box - they had so many boxes over the last years that their collections and paint queues are full and few of them really need more terminators.

Does anyone else see the same problems in their area?

A similar one - there’s historically been only myself and one either guy at our club that plays Tyranids. However, none of the Marine players - some of whom want a couple of boxes - want to trade with me because they want to paint the Nids.

Likely an unboxing video one day, army showcases. Being less serious tomorrow they're off playing diablo, then Wednesday they out the warhammer+ content up and that seems to drain the content for the day, so pat on back and done.
