30 minutes! I'd be completely shagged out! Interesting vernacular though...
I believe it was more a fairly gentle jog. Moving just fast enough that you catch up to the prey before it’s had a chance to recover from getting away. Rinse and repeat enough times and it collapses before you do. This is of course only really effective with Pack Hunting, as you can try to get it to run where you’ve got mates waiting to speed up the whole process.

Cause I see 2 sets of upper arms there. The scything talons and the toxinjector harpoons. The wriggling tentacles on the back could be brain bits or something normal for the model, we won't really know until a 360/models in hand

Funny debate about prey.
Imagine big invasion and nids storming towards you... stampede. Most animals that stampede are prey yet they cause more massive damage than one lonely specialised tiger.
Now Tyranids would be able to change the "prey nature" and instead of them running away in panic they are running towards you to crush things more like a predator.
Hooves make all the sense on animals specialised running fast.

Yes, pic is correct but I meant the additional - third pair of upper arms - that Assimilator has on other pics.

Quick thought, I don't think the norns could actually reach anything that was on their upper carapace looking at them, something could happily sit between the stacks above the tentacle thingies and be reasonably safe.

We could call them claw-vicles The red one in the pic with the Wraitknight just seems to have some sort of nondescript nub in their place; the back stuff however could be a question of the angle of the shot. The Emissary has them, but they're not really visible in the front shots:

Ahh I see them now! Yeah might just be an optional part, eps considering how GW has gone heavy on restriction of upgrade parts, which might well have been imposed long after the kits were given lots of varied optional parts in design.
Neat idea, even something as simple as that can let two models that are otherwise the same stand out apart from each other

It looks like they have just round connectors that slot into the holes that can be seen on the Emissary above.

So hopefully those limbs are optional as IMO either model looks better without them.

Eh. Many hooved animals aren't all that fast (the top 10 is half big cats and specific dog breeds plus hares, quarter horses and various antelopes. (Though having stared down a near-stampede of cattle (from the other side of a vehicle), it is a brutal thing. As is watching them group up and stomp snakes and scavenger birds to death)
And horses are basically living design flaws waiting to explode in a variety of stupid ways:
Horses don't actually breathe when they're running, their elastic stomachs basically compress their lungs for them. Which is... fine, except makes their digestive systems and diaphragms stupidly delicate and vulnerable to respiratory infections.
The only-one-toe-that-is-also-the-foot-and-a-good-chunk-of-leg causes major circulation problems that in any other species would be lifelong Major Cardiovascular Disease. And their bones help distribute oxygen, which helps with the breathing problem but is one more 'oh, you're dead' factor if any part of that breaks.
They're also living anxiety disorders, and if they can't run from a problem, they go berserk and probably die from self-inflicted injuries. Horses are Fun.

That said considering Tyranids are the big focus I could expect that they have got models lined up for expansion books later in 10th edition. Heck there might even be a special character style model if they do another Partworks magazine release which seems to have become a standard thing for GW to do right now.
So I'd expect another Marines VS Tyranids book which might splice some Genestealer Cultist models in on the Tyranid side.
Did necrons get models lined up for later in 9th?
They were the big focus then.
Most of the Necron wave was released in October with the Psychomancer coming later in January and the Chronomancer and Flayed Ones via Kill team in February but they where already revealed back with the inital wave. So the only thing they got that wasn't revealed at the beginning was the Hierotek Circle Kill Team which was only an upgrade sprue and doesn't have special rules anymore I think?

If that is it for the Nid releases I'm a little surprised. I guess 9th and the Necron refresh kind of set a certain expectation in my mind.

Given what some posters on this forum have been annoyed and made pithy catchphrases about, are you really surprised? Legions Imperialis is currently embroiled in the issue of plastic between the feet of models.

I think the nid release has been interesting as there's a lot of feeling of gratitude to finecrap going away, there's some funky stuff in there and I agree it all looks great. But simultaneously I've seen very valid criticisms of every kit that as much as I love them, can appreciate. There's also the fact there were some expectations it hasn't hit such as the prime not having any buddies to fly with and the fact there still isn't a true LoW sized plastic nid. For long time nid players, unless they want newer sculpts there isn't much extra for them to add to their collection beyond some rebasing for example.

Hooves are cool.
The dainty T-nornasaurus arms aren't, though.
What good are they even doing up there? Too stubby to accomplish anything other than parrying face-shots, and possibly not even long enough for that. They also emerge right out of the shoulder armour with no attempt at a transition, like baby's first conversion. I'll probably skip them and fill in the armour (even if there's some silly lore for them).

The Tyranid releases look amazing and I like the Emissary model but I think it's a pretty confusing addition to the range.
What Tyranids don't need: yet another medium, Riptide-sized monster that looks like an upscaled variation of one of their other monsters.
What Tyranids could really really have done with: A Knight-sized centrepiece model that dwarfs even a Tyrannofex and really adds to the 'kaiju' theme.
Yet they went with the former, so it looks like it will now be years before Tyranids get their big plastic centrepiece model - if they ever even get one. This was their chance and they missed it.

A big centerpiece or character model is probably easier to do a standalone release than most basic units I would think. Snikrot, Carsight, and the Lion just got standalone releases. There are Cerastus Knights ights coming to plastic for Heresy, and then 40k when Knights get a new Codex. Would be easy to have a standalone mega-nid beast come along around the same time to challenge it as one option.

This! So much this! They could easily done both with our ''biggest ever release''. NotDimachaeron released together with a Dominatrix for example.

It's pretty hilarious! They are overthinking it - they are space hooves, practicality in the real world just isn't a relevant discussion. If someone doesn't like how they look, they are free to do a conversion or not buy the model.

The story in the Leviathan book that introduces the reader to Norn Emissaries has them quote 'squeezing up a shaft a creature of this size had no right to fit into' and such, it mentions several times that these creatures are a lot more limber than they look - for me, it invokes the imagery of e.g. octopuses or whatever doing weird stuff.

And by forcing me to parse that in context having seen the mini, you've ruined it for me. No fething way will those stacks be malleable enough to fit into a space smaller than you'd expect. it's meant to be reinforced chitin and all of the chimneys are linked and therefore solid. If it's actually made of jelly it's the least threatening nid going imo.

Yeah, definitely with Dudeface here. If the Emmissary was more cockroach-like (i.e. flat carapace protecting innards that could retreat for squeezing into tight spaces) it'd be one thing; like I could imagine the Maleceptor or Toxicrene shrinking itself inwards for navigating close quarters. The spore chimneys just make that ridiculous with the Emmissary.
