Still plenty of weekend left folks. Make it to the finish line!

So finished up the last bits on my entry:

Mostly happy with how they turned out. One step I did for them that I didn’t do with my prior recent camo cloaks is edge highlight. Makes a difference; nice little border to help separate the camo from the rest of the mini, but all subtle-like. These new plastics are a lot better then the old finecast ones I painted. Looking forward to the shroudrunners I’ve got sitting in the primed pile for more space elf winter hiding fun.
Spoiler:

New and old together

Bonus entry:

While my son has mostly fallen out of 40k, I asked if he’d like to join us for this round. He entered twice before back in 2018. Little bit of a last minute rush, but he finished up a librarian.

I love it when you get this flood of amazing entries at the end of the month. Great work everyone! I'll save comments on individual entries until the voting thread.

Here are my final pics of Varag Ghoul-Chewer, Paragon of the Ork Blood Bowl players, and painted as a celebration of my Newcastle United supporting brother's birthday.

That’s real nice work Feltmonkey; love the rust effect on the metal.

Well, here is my entry for the ‘Celebration’ theme…

Party time down at the bar for a squad of horrors! The barman went…missing.

Hope you all dig it…

A pink horror bursting out of an oversized cake? Now I've seen everything... xD

Nothing from me this month, just haven't found the time and/or the motivation to get anything done. May enter next month, not sure yet.

Tons of great entries from everyone, though. Well done! I'll definitely be voting when it's up.

Well, against all expectations I managed to get the Canoness more or less done!
As it was raining, I took the opportunity and decided to paint the whole day. Not a good idea though, as towards the end I started to rush things.

Still the time was running out, so I made a simple 5 minute base for the sake of this challenge. The bones etc. are not aligned properly, but I will fix that later.

Canoness Veridyan

Tried to do all the metal parts with NMM.
There are areas that succeeded quite well in my opionion. But there are also areas, that did not go as planned.
I think I will try to improve those areas sometime later. Looking at the pictures, I'd say many of the "golden" parts lack contrast and especially pure white highlights.
Anyway, C&C is welcome!

Great to see a flurry of entries coming in at the end, nice work getting them finished Nev, Felt, Jadenim, XvArcanevX, Tallandra, Ezki

This could be a long post

First the Kids, I'm just happy they have fun painting with their dad and its something we can share, although I don't get much painting done I have the job of chief paint pot opener. They really like painting Gryph-hounds and when I took them to the local GW the other day they got very excited over the bracken and creeping vines base extras (fine by me one of the cheapest items in the shop but not sure I understand it though)

On to my Entry

I wanted to go for something big and push myself as this was for the 100th. I have an ideas book I sketch things in when I find the odd spare moment and this has been in there for a long time, it is the biggest model and conversion I have ever done. TBH I could have spent another week doing highlights and adding extra bits in but had to draw the line somewhere so what's on there is done but still have some extra grots and gubbins to put on.

I had a model painted for this comp, but I can't find my proof pic. I also wanted to finish a second model to go with it as they are supposed to be a pair, but it's only half done... /Fail

We are fairly relaxed on that one so if you have any 1/2 way done pics that's fine or if it seems reasonable you did paint it within the month and just forgot just declare that.

@Eski - thats an amazing piece. The NMM works really well.

Here is my entry on the theme of Legion. Deliberate use of contrast style paints, no highlights and minimal detailing I think this is the most minis I’ve ever finished in one month ever. About 40 I think. Except maybe some epic stuff I did an awfully long time ago

Thanks. I posted these pics two weeks ago on my blog, so I'm going to claim that's enough circumstantial evidence.

Kingdom Death Dung Beetle Ball as promised - a fitting representation of my repeated failures to finish models for this comp.

I dislike the eyes and was planning to repaint them to match the spot colour I was using on the Dung Beetle Knight (i.e. the other half of the model pair), but obviously that has not happened yet.
I have some better images somewhere, but Imgur is playing up now... I probably should have been a tiny bit more organised.

I'll have photos tomorrow if allowed? Some serious family stuff has taken my chance to wrap up the final minis.

Superb stuff all round, love seeing everything come in!

I trust you on the proof thing. Don’t worry about that. It’s really just on the books to keep people from entering finished works. Lot of honor system here.

I’m not going to be able to compile the vote at least until after work tomorrow, so if you need to dig up some more pics or take them, that’s fine. While we obviously need to draw the line somewhere, I’m OK with it being fuzzy.

Family stuff is more important than painting deadlines. Hope all is well.

Thanks for the extension, Nev! Because of that, I was able to get an entry finished, even if the final results are a bit phoned in. I could probably do more, but at this point I'm just ready to move on to other things. Here are the final pics of my Bladeguard Veterans, taken from the April 2015 challenge Veterans (the first of these comps that I ever entered):

Hopefully I can do better for next month. I'm not particularly proud of these models, but at least I got something done, and they'll look reasonable on the tabletop I suppose.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Hey all,

For some reason my pics seem to be displayed far over to the centre of the page (at least for me)

I also seem to have to scroll to the right to read texts and see some pics. Can anybody help me with this or is it normal?

It’s normal. The page size refits itself around images, and they can be pretty big if they aren’t hosted on Dakka itself.

@Tyranid Horde - that’s a great yellow for linking the different aircraft. Looks great.
