Amazing orky buildings, super cool how they fit together like the Octarius terrain does
Those Sanguinary wings look amazing on the sisters and the dynamic poses add some extra flavour too. Nice work!

I'm glad you like it. It was fun to do.

With the Winter weather, I'm stuck in building mode. I don't want to risk trying to prime my models.
So I'll just build more for now. Here is a Deff Metal stage I quickly put together this last week. I'm thinking I will make a bar next called Kulture Klubb.
I may make an ork flame thrower guitar player and a drummer to go with it, but it's not a priority. Could make a small garage too, but will see.

Thanks, I've been seeing those Sister conversion on the net for years and wanted to try it myself.

I'm glad you like them. There is a company that sell those as STLs files for 3D printing, but I don't own one, so I just made my own version.

I don't owe you money do I ?
But if you mean Tommygun's Ironworks from Warseer days, then yes.
This hobby blog is a much smaller one than before.

I have the Kulture Kubb bar partly done now and started making mini fungus beer bottles last night out of glass beads that came out nicely.
So, maybe by the end of the week it will be done. I also have an idea on how to made fake neon light signs out of plain wire for the bar that I want to try out.

OK, progress on the fake neon sign. It is sitting on the back of the bar. This is a very old school way of how they did neon.
You have the glass tube (the big copper wire in my case) sitting on standoffs and held in place by thin wire.
I plan on painting the big copper wires a bright color with a wash of the same color below it on the letters for the glow effect.
I do have a lot of empty space below the "OPEN". Maybe I should make it:

OPEN
EER

But that's it for now.

Thank you. I haven't done any source lighting in a long time. So I'm not sure how well it will come out.
I need to order the the Army Painter neon effects paints for this.

I have the main OPEN sign done. Well need to make a smaller one to go under it.
This is what I:m thinking:
OPEN
LIVE SNOTLINGS

If you have ever been to a bar near a military base in the US, you what this is.
Finished the booze bottles as well. They are about the size of an ork boy's fist and I like how they came out.
They will be glued in place unpainted once done.

Also Disco ball!!!

I think I'm done with building the Kulture Klubb. It might need a few more rivets here and there though.
It will get done later. I ordered the neon paint and I might try to prime some of my ork buildings. It is still a bit cold, but they are ork buildings, so if a test piece goes bad It's not the end of the world. I have some hanging light cables that will get clear glass beads glued on them as lights after painting.
I don't think it shows up in the photos, but there are holes on the shelves and counter tops, that's were the bottles will go.
This piece serves as a mirror of the Deff Metal stage as far as it has the same 5x6 foot print, same 5 inch height, sight blocking and firing platform on top.
Not sure what's next, possibly some scatter terrain.

Those little bottles were easy and fun to do. I may have to make some scatter terrain like bar tables so I can make more of those bottles.

youwashock wrote:Coolest thing I will see all day.

Thanks, but I hope you didn't tell your significant other that.

I have the ork terrain mostly primed. The cold weather did impact the paint some, but I can work with it.
I definitely can't prime minis though. The neon sign is painted. I tried to make it a bit grungy to match ork terrain.
So, I guess the next things to do are paint up a test piece of one of the building sections to find out how I want to paint the rest of it.
There are also a few scatter terrain pieces to build to act as area cover.

I can see the “live” blinking on and off and some of the other letters flickering intermittently.

Well done!

Thanks, I'm very tempted to do something with that EL Wire for a cyberpunk city I started years ago, but I have too many other things to do.

So here is the test item. It's quick to do for a terrain piece. My ork army is based on Goff, so it's not a colorful army.
This is basically how I paint my Goff vehicles. This and scatter terrain looks to be what's going to keep me busy for a while.

It was time consuming but fun. This all started out as a much smaller project and it keeps growing as the Winter weather keeps me from priming my minis.
I'm getting close to the finish now.

Thanks, I do like doing rust effects.
It's weird, but 5 minutes after first reading your post, I came across one of your product reviews on Amazon for a battle map.

Well the Kulture Klubb bar is done. I do like how the bar came out. I still have four large walls, two area cover pieces and eight barricades to finish off.
Then maybe a drummer setup for the stage and possibly that flamethrower guitar player.

You should get a chameleon and have him blend in somewhere in the Kulture Klub. It would be good for the karma.

He’s a regular at the place, but is not always there. He comes and goes...
