Pff, Primaris are old news - it'll be an even newer marine variant that makes all Primaris redundant!

Some sort of Optimized Primaris marine perhaps? You can't disguise the way it transforms the whole concept of Space Marines.

We’re finally at the present day, and for our penultimate iconic miniature, what could be more appropriate than a creature that straddles almost the entire history of Warhammer 40,000?

A fine choice, maybe Arkhan The Black? But is any Tomb King-mini really iconic enough to be the final reveal?

Tyrion and Teclis are certainly iconic fantasy characters and so far no High Elves at all.

It will be the goblin spearmen from the 4th edition Warhammer Fantasy box set.

You know, the ones that would would stab into your arm when you reached over them to move a different unit.

That is the most iconic Warhammer miniature for me.

I could using that spot to reveal a new Settra model for Old World.

Of all the many iconic options they had for a model alongside the 40th anniversary, GW went with... a bland sci-fi dwarf without a beard. A model that people would not even recognise to "be 40K" a few years ago.

So... I have my doubts about next weeks model being "iconic".

Perhaps Lion El'Jonson, whose return has been hinted at for many years and only got a new miniature earlier this year.

The countdown was likely originally for the announcement at Warhammer Day of the Old World launch but that is rumoured to be moved back with Legions Imperialis taking the November launch slot. But its likely we will still see at least something special for the Old World on Warhammer day, maybe the launch boxes?

So if the final 40 years of Warhammer is a reveal instead of just an already existing model is could be an Old World model that also serves as the teaser model for Warhammer day the following Saturday in the same way Klonk was the teaser model for Nova

if true this would indicate that GW does not really care about TOW at all if a 40 week count down with a big reveal event at the end can easily replaced/shifted by another niche product in the line up

it would also mean that the TOW is much smaller than LI, simply because it can be moved to make place for LI

Harry, bring this ring to Narnia or the Sith will take the Enterprise

It’ll be a classic miniature that they can reveal a new version of. Me, I’d love it if it was the Chaos Lavatory, but it’ll probably be Marine related.

The rumours also say that the two launch boxes for Tomb King and Bretonnia only have a single new hero each with the rest only being old stuff (even the old Tomb Kings Skeletons) so if that is true GW not caring about TOW and it being a small release doesn't sound unlikely

True story. I once lost my temper at my brother trying to teach him how to play and brought my hand down on that unit by mistake. I didn't need stitches, but holy crap there was so much blood.

The last model in the lineup will be a Tomb Kings skeleton warrior from The Old World to lead into the upcoming preview. Then further down the article they'll show the same picture of the same skeleton as the faction's face during the last edition of Fantasy. Then they'll show the same picture of the same skeleton with a remark on the faction's first stand alone army book during 6th ed.

It'll be the most awesomest article ever.

Haha, that would be hilarious.
Especially, if the text talks about how the skeleton changed over time and how the „new“ skeleton is the pinacle in design with minute details and perfect proportions.

However, a skeleton was already part of the reveals, so another one is rather unlikely.

With 8 out of the last 10 reveals being from the 40k universe, let‘s hope they reveal a fantasy miniature for the 40th anniversary of WFB.

Do you think they will wait until Warhammer Day for the reveal?

Yep, and it is an easy way to make the link to The Old World, the continuation of Warhammer Battle that started these 40 years of Warhammer. Arkhan is nice, but is not the focus of TOW's new campaign right now. Settra the Imperishable is definitely it, though.

Well, easy way doesn't mean it's the one chosen. GW ways are only known to them.

I admit Harry the Hammer is another iconic figure suited.
