The Baneblade and variants are from the 4th ed Apocalypse release. That was around 2006.

The Chimera and Leman Russ chassis got a recut sprue in 6th ed or 7th ed, partially with updates to the sculpts like the Leman Russ turret design. GW notably retained the 2nd ed Basilisk parts and I believe the 3rd ed or 4th ed vehicle upgrade sprue to build it on the redone Chimera chassis.

That at least has been rumoured to get an update with a new Corsair sub-faction range, possibly early next year.

I just hope they give the army a reason to do something other than six baby carriers.

I'm hoping that they break up the datasheets and allow you to field more than that.

Switch from the leather bomber jackets to guardian armor to match the rest of the range?

Make it a duel kit with a small open topped transport?

Use modern sprue techniques to pack more onto the frames?

Sharpen soft detail?

I love the old kits. Aesthetically they still stand as quality. But they need a recut.

If I were updating the vyper I'd give it a more stocky middle and underside. The model itself always feels like there's a detailed cockpit and gun but no engine or body to the flier to make it carry the weight of the other parts.

It is one of the models where if GW did update it I'd not expect a wholesale change. Perhaps a new gun type or two; the option of a light transport build maybe; or perhaps something like a single gun on rotation or a heavier gun with fixed fire arcs.

My issue with the vyper is it looks like an old fashioned door chock. Just a big ol chunky wedge.

This is partly because it unnecessarily has 2 crew.

IMO it should be sleeker like a harlequin void weaver and have a twinlinked gun on a wave serpent style turret, with the underslung gun as normal.

I think tandem is fine; but yes changing the driver from a seat to a saddle like on the bikes would instantly allow it to look sleeker and save space that the seat otherwise eats up.

But they earn those leather bomber jackets after 4 hard years of flying and being on the JV squad. Except from 79-81 when the jackets were not issued. Also they get to keep it when they retire.

The Vyper isnt a tandem bike like the Shroudrunners or Harlequin bikes, its a light skimmer like the Venom or Voidweaver. It just needs to have a larger hull for transporting like the latter two, with Craftworld styling- it should be basically the same base vehicle for all 3 factions, but with their own styling and weapons.

A sleek one-crew Vyper with a twin-linked gun is pretty much a Hornet.

In 2nd Ed, it could serve as a chariot of sorts, swapping out the gun cradle for a fighting platform.

It shouldn't, as it feels like the whole point is that it is a single Aeldari vehicle that has just been aesthetically tweaked for each of the three branches, as all three can use the same capabilities.

The original Codex Eldar back in 2e had Vypers as character transports. There was supposed to be a fighting platform to replace the upper gun mount. They should bring that back.

I agree! They should lean back into the Space Chariot aspect. Maybe make a new kit with gun options (as normal) and a new Autarch that is completely compatible with the other plastic Autarch kits. That way, even if you make it a Shooty Vyper, you can still use the Autarch on foot.

It'd be like printing money.

They could include Nuadhu Fireheart, a special character from 3rd edition (without a model), in such a kit.

Games Workshop: We are replacing the old Drop Pod with this new easier to assemble Drop Pod that comes 2 to a Kit.

Also Games Workshop:
Legiones Astartes Drop Pod

Drop Pods are designed to plunge Space Marines into the heart of battle, a method of conveyance that became iconic for its use by the Legions throughout the Horus Heresy and beyond. This returning plastic kit contains a single plastic Drop Pod – which was previously available with Warhammer 40,000 branding – and a Legiones Astartes vehicle transfer sheet with 288 transfers.
So there we have it. GW created a new Drop Pod kits for 40K specifically to allow them to have both a 40K and a HH Drop Pod kit. We can't have models used by two games systems. That would be too confusing

Sorry, but what’s the impact there?

If you’ve an existing army and bought Drop Pods, you can still use them.

If you were wanting to add Drop Pods, you’ve now a choice. And if anyone moans you’re using the older ones? Just say you’d bought them yonks ago.

If the Pod being used in multiple Systems being a problem and needed 2 dedicated models, Custodes and especially Daemons might have a hard time in future

I think the point is that its further proof of GW management's really big push to entirely separate their product lines in the last year or two. Which is something they've never really pushed hard on before and if anything they encouraged cross-game features in the past.

Makes me think that 40K is going to get a SLEW of new Demon models this next edition or AoS will because Demons still share a lot of models across both games.

Though I'd still be surprised if we see new greater demon kits ;but I could see all the old regular infantry and such getting replaced with new game specific ones

I'm also not entirely opposed to it either - seeing 40K get some more guns on their demons and other things would be rather good. Heck models like the slaanesh Chariot look great in AoS/Old World but always struck me as a bit odd in 40K. They work if you're against a swarmy Imperial Guard or Tyranid player but I just can't envision them working properly against Marines, Big chunky orks; titanic stuff and so on .

Daemons are already game agnostic, being pretty much the same range in 40k and AoS. And in due course, if not already? Presumably The Old World.

I could see HH getting more generic Daemons though.

Demons won't be coming to the old world, unless maybe they become genericized/non-god specific. GW is already trying to remove them from 40k and is clearly angling to separate the lines between 40k and AoS. HH has already been clearly telegraphed as relying on generic demons, rather than god specific.

So they be cut from 30k and either be cut from 40k too or get a new army that will be hardly compatible with the existing models

Generic daemons would be cool. I used to know a player that used max levels of Furies ,(he liked undecided daemons) in his Chaos Marines list. I felt so bad for him when they nixed that unit.
