Having a hammer does match the cover of the upcoming Master of Rites novel, so presumably the miniature will be released alongside.

We had all 10 Captains at one point t thanks to Apocalypse and masters of the chapters sets. May as well go for that again. This would bring us to 4, with Aggemman, Sicarius, Ventris, and this guy. Bring back Telion and that is 5.

Sicarius is no longer a Captain, he leads the Victrix Guard. Acheran is the Captain of the Second now, but he does have an official miniature that was only available in the Imperium partswork.

Are the BL marines as large scale as other BL models? If so, this would be a pretty cool centerpiece hero.
Always great to see a marine commander pointing with determination.

The fluff justification for not using the trim colors is that the codex astartes says to remove them or replace them when deployed so as to confuse the enemy and prevent them from collecting intel.

Acheran actually has two "canon" minis. One is the Gravis Captain model from Dark Imperium. The other is the Phobos Captain mini. The Phobos Captain is "more" accurate, given that Acheran seems to prefer wearing Phobos armour, and is wearing it in Space Marine 2.

So, he is "that generic marine commander"? How very Ultramarine of him.

What about Captain Centros? He just had a release a couple weeks ago.

LOADS of stuff! Necrons, Admech, SoB, Tyranids, Made to Order Slaanesh and Eldar

TYRANID TERRAIN

Honestly I'm most tempted to grab two sets of the terrain because I think its the most likely to vanish after and be super hard to get. Might get one or two eldar metals as those are some sweet classic sculpts.

I wonder if they'll update the Novitiate datasheet for 40K, since the kit now comes with loads of potential model builds without rules.

I'll be interested to see how GW handles the raveners - I'm assuming the old plastic ones will be vanishing from the store at some point.

Depends on whether this box comes with the Kill Team 'upgrade' sprue. The Krieg didn't have theirs when they got re-released. The Kommandos had all their options on their main sprues, so there's nothing to take away from them.

The picture they use has the specialists, and the second flamer and similacrum are on the upgrade sprue, so if it gets removed there'll be options for which there aren't models (and we can't be having that!)

The Kill Team Beginner Box at Barnes & Noble shows Death Guard models that aren't in the box.

(Also, it gives you 4 out of the 6 models you need for each kill team.)

Genuinely surprised the Made to Order Seer Council is “only” £36.

Never gonna describe GW as cheap, because lying is naughty. But that’s still far less than I was expecting it to be.

Ordered one, and the Warpgate.

Indeed, my guess was GW would ask anything from 60to 120€ for 6 characters, but they wanted 45€, which I was okay with and made them my very first eldar minis .

Or you can pay £24 for a single Noise Marine.

It's good how the plastic model is four times the price of the metal models...

I was similarly surprised by the price of the Phoenix Court, I may buy it anyway since €20 for the 5 Lords I don't have is still within reason.

For $60 you can get a half dozen classic metal sculpts in the seer council, or 2 modern plastic warlocks.

The PLs are a little harder to compare, as the old metal avatar, while awesome, is also unusably out of scale compared to the modern plastic kit. But bang for buck, $125 for the set vs. $45 a pop for the new ones?

All of this complicated by both the retro awesomeness of the old metals, and the superb job they have done on the modern plastic updates.

I’d be more tempted if I didn’t already have half of the old guys. But I can see this being a busy MTO.

I love the old warlocks and have a bunch that more or less match this council.
For years I fantasised about them getting plastic upgrades.
Now, the far seer and warlock plastics are some of the most uninterresting sculpts they produce. A unit that used to be full of character and pure rizz replaced with zero personality.
I dont usually complain or compare old sculpts with new, but the Aeldari psychers are some of the greatest dissapointments for me personally. Still use my metal guys, exept for jetbikes.

I've always wished GW would go all in with the old Farseer design across the range

https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/File:Farseerwd304pg25.jpg

IMO its one of the best sculpts they've done for Eldar because it looks alien. Everything about that helmet just screams something inhuman about it. It's not an elf in a helmet its something truly alien.

I'm sorely tempted to get the set just to get another of that model

Going with the Neil Gaiman homage these days is probably not the savviest PR move.

how many people would clock that as a gaiman reference though? especially in the era of modern GW where its more widely accessible and people that would have been called normies 10-20 years ago are active members of hte hobby?
