Pretty cool model. I suppose they will put him in a box with the really old chaos bikers.

Not meant to be bikes with this (though they often get mentioned as coming eventually), Command Squad and a "Hunter" squad with Huron, I believe

There might be two or three alternative heads anyway.
Probably unlikely, but if they are putting a renegade chapter front and centre I wonder if they might deal with the whole "the first action a chapter performs upon falling to Chaos is to trade in all their assault cannons for reaper autocannons" (and so on) issue.

Yes, but the heat shield is usually over the nozzle to protect the nozzle and dissipate heat as I understand it. Hurons at the base of the wrist is doing literally nothing.

I appreciate that it was marketing talk, but does a single special character resculpt really qualify as an "extra special" reveal these days?
If you wanted to make it "extra special", preview the additional elements you talk about showing up later.
Grotmas was definitely a letdown this year.

Huron is a great character for chaos to get I think. Everything being Primarchs all the time is kind of dull. Huron is the most powerful chaos warlord after Abbaddon, and Abbaddon’s influence rivals Primarchs. Huron is a pretty big deal.

as if anybody cares how real weapons work or why certain "design" elements are there on weapons in the first place
and GW is doing "we don't know what it is but it looks cool so put it somewhere" for a very long time now, the only funny thing about this is how the 3D aftermarket copies that despite knowing better
so expect to have heat shield on the wrist on "no they are not copies but my very own design" models in future

Considering the crazy release schedule for GW in general 2025, and the amount of important named character they released for 40k I would say "something special" would be a pretty tall order. Would actually pretty nice to se some of the fringe players like Huron and possibly Yriel make up some more light hearted cut-scenes to the grand narrative.
Enjoy fun Huron rules untill summers 11th edition when he get nerfed into a regular chaos lord with flamer.

yeah, we should totally not hold high standards for premium priced miniatures coming from the company saying they make the best fantasy minis in the world but accept beginner (or AI) level design mistakes as "unavoidable" because everything is possible in a fantasy world
not that good world building would mean to stay consistent within its own "reality" anyway

Come on, you're trying really hard to be offended here. Is it silly they painted a conponent of a bionic arm as a heat shield somewhere it wouldn't work logically? Yes. Does that mean anyone needs to start going all anti-cropo activisim over the accuracy of their sci-fi minis? Not at all.
If the realism of 40k minis is a deal breaker for you, how have you got this far? What about the mysterious pilot light on guillimans heavy bolter? Did you go protest outside GW at that blatant mishap? Do you get a picket board out each time someone uses a rhino the minis cant physically fit in?

Key word here is “fantasy”, none of the weapons in 40K make any sense. If that is what you want then 40K has never been for you. Ever.

The swiss cheese power fist arm doesn't make sense, I will fill that in.
And I hope he comes with some other heads because while "head swaps are easy" 1) not if he has loads of hoses and gak sticking out 2) only if I have a suitable head in my bitz box 3) if I'm paying the best part of £30 for one model it isn't too much to ask to like the head that it comes with tbh

It's a pretty good model, I don't have a problem with the flamer fist or the head.
I like the way the face looks like it's stapled on.
Think of the flame guard in the arm more of a design element that is immediately recognisable as "this has a flame attack".

I am not offended at all, just find it funny that some people feel the need to come around on defending obvious mistakes from GW for not real reason at all
and GW makes such silly mistakes for a long time now, like modelling the folding stock of machine pistols as part of the nozzle from heavy machine guns, simply because the designer don't know that the MP he used as template has the stock folding forward, or the pilot light or any other stupid design element they saw on a stock image of something and felt it was needed on their own design
same problem here, the designer has no clue what that part of the flamer is but wanted it to be there so modeled it on the wrist
and in a world were people complain about Alien models not being anatomically correct (as if this would be possible) if made by any other company but GW, not pointing out such obvious mistakes is silly
