Ravenors were never my favourite unit aesthetically, so I'm not likely to go in for the box, but that's gambling that the terrain will be available separately- I think it will. It's a license to print money, and they'd be fools to pass up the opportunity.

If they release the Kill Teams from the latest box, we'll see if they release the statue too. If so, it continues the pattern, and my confidence in a separate release for tyranid terrain will go up.

No statue.

I'm trying to recall recent sets and whether any of that terrain came out. It looks like the plasma generatoriums from Termination never got a standalone release, that was from about a year ago iirc. The generatorum hub from Nightmare never came out.

Previously, the bigger "sets" of terrain have been released standalone as Kill Zones. Octarius, Chalnath, Moroch iirc. I don't know if the Hivestorm terrain has yet?

It feels like the boxes with 1-2 smaller terrain features do not get released standalone, and the bigger "entire table's worth" sets do. Hard to tell what the Tyranid terrain even is between those two options. There are a lot of pieces of it, but they all seem fairly small, and none of them are second-storey.

Shoot - I just bought the Blooded.

Eyes are definitely on the Nids, and happy to get them separately.

I'm very keen to get this box- Raveners are one of my favourite units and models, another brood the new Hormagaunts would be very welcome and of course the terrain...
Haven't bought anything since Killteam termination for the Votann- do these things sell out within seconds/minutes or an hour to so?

I think its a "while stocks last" kind of thing.

The 40K crowd will snap it up for the Tyranids and their scenery.

Some do and some don't, but this one definitely will.

Prices posted on Discord say £40 / $65 for the Kill Teams and £100 / $170 USD for the Typhon box. Definitely less than I was expecting.

Killzone: Volkus (from the Hivestorm box) and the Killzone Upgrade: Compound Siege (from the Brutal and Cunning box) have both had independent releases.

I have to assume that, eventually, the plasma generatoriums from Termination and the generatorum hub from Nightmare will get some sort of independent release, but who knows? The Blood and Faith box was effectively a re-release for the sororitas statue, so maybe that's a bit less likely - I guess there is always a chance for a Made to Order type release for all of those things.

I'm betting that the tyrannid terrain in the Typhon box will get an independent release when the next Killteam set is released within the next 6 months. And as long as I'm thinking wishfully, maybe they will release a tyrannid-infected sector imperialis, fronteris, and/or mortalis kit that can be mixed and matched with the vanilla versions of those lines.

I lost count of how many boxes I simply gave up on just based on availability.

Then I wait for cherry picking things later but then impulse buy deflated and I never get anything.

Its FOMO the other way around I guess.

Brief breakdown of play styles and some cards here.

The big Ravener thing is they dig a tunnel during the game and can pop in and out of it to hide.

On the other hand it seems Servitors can freely pass activations back and forth, possibly even to expended models.

Well, someone's splitting a box so I put my name down for the terrain.

I like both ideas on paper, as they seem to be designed to reward careful positioning (in relation to the tunnel / other servitors) and not just moving towards enemy and rolling dice. I like the spatial positioning puzzle of wargaming, so I hope this careful planning will have a worthy payoff in the game.

I hope they get their pre-orders in 'order' for this release, given the debacle of the recent other pre-orders.

I must say that the Tyranid tunneling mechanic is innovative in a way that has me very curious.

Nice to see something different.

So the new article about the joint ops got me excited, then I realised its still all based on volkus layouts. I do not have volkues terrain, does it largely matter at all in people's experience? Can I just freestyle with my existing terrain without detriment?

Most terrain amounts to variety of wall/building, so it shouldn't take much effort to find a substitute. It's not like it's those silly aquatic oil rig platforms from last year.

Well, the Typhon Kill Team box set went within minutes Downunder across all major sites (incl. Oz Warhammer site).

Again, it looks like GWS has either underestimated the demand or purposely created the FOMO so they would fully sell their planned stock levels.

Anyone remember if the team rules go up on preorder day or later in the week?

Yeah? Dunno man, 130 euros for two teams, a little bit infantry and not even the rules on it (I though it would have that) feels... expensive. That was the price of the first HH AoD box IIRC...

EDIT: Apparently I'm misremembering hard, so nevermind I guess xD

Sold out literally as I checked out. My credit card even showed the transaction being started, but in the space of one minute, the website showed: "Insufficient stock amount" as I tried to re-add it back to my cart and complete the payment. So literally, this is the last straw. F--- Games Workshop. A company that big builds up this release, and doesn't have enough stock, or doesn't have a website capable of thwarting scalpers? This was one of the few sets I really wanted. I was diligent in trying to purchase this way overpriced plastic - at least this may be the cure for plastic addiction. Thanks for curing me, Games Workshop! This will save me a LOT of money.

Yeah, im usually pretty good at getting stuff, think ive only missed a couple releases in the last 5 years, and most of those were me being like "do i really want to psy this much?"

But i never even had a chance on this one

Super frustrating. Was there at the moment of preorders going live. Insufficient stock.

How are they not ready for this?

Too popular or low stock levels? Maybe both. I mean theres little chance for everyone to get these boxes and even if you have it all set up on minute 1, still not good enough. Frustrating but eventually you get used to that.

I wasn't waiting at the get go but I'd been tempted to get it. Unfortunately no luck as it seems to have been gone within seconds. I suppose my wallet will thank me.

It does say "temporarily out of stock" on the UK website, are they aiming to add more?

For releases like this, the temporarily out of stock is a sign they're about to send less stock to the independent stores, who will then carry the abuse for selling too many pre-orders.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech, Warcrow and Infinity.

For previous big releases, there's also been a second wave when unsold in-store boxes are returned.
