'It is a source of constant consternation that my opponents cannot correlate their innate inferiority with their inevitable defeat. It would seem that stupidity is as eternal as war.'
- Nemesor Zahndrekh of the Sautekh Dynasty Overlord of the Crownworld of Gidrim
First one was passable(for a video game adaptation movie).
I can't remember if Kano died in the first one (not that it matters in the MK universe), but he was awesome. The spam leg sweep scene involving him was great.
I'll give this one a view or two.

He's listed on the Wikipedia page for the new film, still played by Josh Lawson, even though he did die in the first film.

I saw MK 2021 in the theatre and it was completely forgettable with possible exception of Scorpion's storyline. I do not remember any of the other characters even being in it until I saw the trailer again.
If my kid can go see MK2 with me, we will go see it.

Looks like Johnny Cage is going to be the main character of the film.

Glad they ditched the metal body guy from the first one, unless he's in there and I missed him.(NVM, seems he's listed in the cast on the wiki page)

I think that is him at about 1:09.
The theory that seems to be floating around is that he is going to be killed off at the beginning somehow, which is why Raiden and freinds go looking for a replacement.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
I do appreciate that they're doing Noob Saibot proper after the first film. Not sure the narrative context of that rematch though, not that it really matters.
I'm not sure how you do bumbling idiot saves the world with Mortal Kombat. I guess they could go lore accurate and bad end this one, but I'm not all that invested enough to worry about it. Kind of sad Cage is aware he's in over his head. Part of the appeal of the original was just that he absolutely believes his own hype.
OMG I love the 1995 movie! JC taking down that scumbag Goro after destroying his $400 dollar sunglasses! Then - THEN! - diving for cover as Scorpion explodes and I am so PUMPED FOR THIS Oneeee.....ummmmm.....
On the Surface of the Sun aka Florida in the Summer.

...oh.
Nevermind.
You already got your sequel... where Johnny Cage dies 3 minutes in... and they somehow couldn't afford to bring back Christopher Lambert as Raiden.

It wasn't that bad... remember when Jax rips his own metal arms off to get stronger? That was good... right?
Right?
It was kind of funny that they put so much effort into making the characters all look right, and so little effort into making an actual movie anyone would want to watch.
Fantastic soundtrack, though.
