Nah of all the tutorials I have watched from people using army painter paints, gives me confidence not to go near it. Just doesn't fit what Im looking for in a paint range.

The 2.0 are absolutely great. Personally I much prefer them to contrast as a base to work from.
Ninjon spilled the beans early (oops!) and it seems to be Speedpaint Markers (despite Deep-Cut Studios already having released Speedpaint Markers )

Heeey @ninjon… did you forget about the embargo date? ? While GenCon attendees got a sneak peek at our new Speedpaint Markers, we weren’t quite ready to tell the whole world yet. But hey—it’s not like we have you bound by some ironclad NDA or anything… or do we? ?
While I have a very serious chat with our legal department (it’s just Dipit with a clipboard), everyone else can stay tuned for the official details dropping August 15!

As a kid I used a silver paint marker to do the silver on my WHFB dwarfs shields and weapons until I got my hands on a pot of silver paint.
Yes, those ae the Speedpaint Markers from Deep-Cut Studios I mentioned above and in this thread from back in January.

I played with some paint markers at AdeptiCon this year. Can't recall who made them. I wasn't impressed, to be honest.
It's frayed paintbrushes and q-tips for me!

Do you guys want to turn this into a general Army Painter news thread?
Warlord email: "ARMY PAINTER GAMEMASTER & FLEXIBLE TRIAD PLUS: New paint sets from the Army Painter include the GameMaster Role-Playing series, which include miniatures and quests in addition to paints, and the Flexible Triad Plus sets, each containing seven paints from the same colour family enabling you to make seamless transitions from light to dark."
AP sure looks like it's aggressively expanding its market, with Triad Plus (seven paints of the same color in different shades), Speedpaints, GameMaster paints, paint pens, new Fanatic line, tie-in paint sets (eg. Kings of War, various Zombicide) etc., even if they had some misfires, such as Speedpaint 1.0, the 12ml GameMaster bottles (ugh), and Terrain sets (selling styrofoam -- gee, great idea). Reaper and Vallejo, afaik, I haven't heard any aggressive marketing, not that I need more paint after all the Miniature Market sales on regular AP paints.

Honestly, I can't knock those kits. They have been one of the best products for me in the last 12 months. I live with no public transport near me, no shops near me at all, and buying small enough quantities for hobbying is impossible. The only way to buy something like this is to buy HUGE quantities which can only really be done for building projects, and I mean huge- we are talking in bulk to insulate a new house build- and the trade builders are not interested in delivering out 1-2 sheets for someone out in the sticks. I've no real interest in ordering 50-100 giant sheets and selling on the remainder of the bulk purchase myself just so I can have a lifetime supply to make a few hills.
The stuff in the AP kits is 'better' quality than what is found in packing material (eg not messy to work with), and I've been able to source it from a FLGS at a discount. They come with a few paints which will always find a use one day, and the spray cans will get used up for the terrain it self. I've brought a selection of the kits and probably have enough sheets of foam to do everything I can realistically get around to doing, though I do have a few off bits of packing styrofoam I did hang on too 'just in case'.
Honestly the cost/convenience is a decent enough ratio that even if I could buy and offload the bulk to others, the time saved alone is worth is.

Were you able to get more when Miniature Market put them on sale? I used MM to pick up the regular AP hobby paint at a good price.
> Isnt the triad plus just the fanatic paints but in prepacked sets?
Yeah, that was my impression. I've been buying the original paints in various sets from MM on the cheap, so mebbe I'll fill in holes if I get my in gear.
Probably not -- just easier to paint and slop on the AP wash so I get my mini's on the tabletop!
Michigan Toy Soldier Co. has the markers up for pre-order. The MSRP for the 10-marker set is $58.99, the 3-marker introductory set is $15.99 and individual markers are $5.99 each (they have them all for pre-order at 20% off MSRP for preferred customers).

Hmm. On the AP site, the Speedpaint 1.0 set is 1/2 off. Discontinued b/c of reactivation issues, but some painters were fine with it. Free shipping at $70. So just throw in the D&D Unpaint Set (12ml bottles) and you're good. Doesn't accept Discover.

A review of the Speed Paint markers from Stahly, plus some tips from him to keep the markers in good working order

And their latest painting accessory. I wonder how much they'll charge for something you can get off of Amazon for less than $10...

As people said in the comments, you can't easily find them in white. If you have a link for one, please share it.
I find the Army Painter's marketing completely misses me with anything recently. Ever since they got a lot more slick about their videos, they just irritate me way more than they did when it was a slightly awkward video for Quickshade in a can.
The quality of their paints have improved though so I don't really care too much if the advertising doesn't work on me as I'm already going to buy their Fanatic paints.

You can find some by simply searching for 'white fidget popper' on Amazon, Ebay or Google.
