Had to vote other. I have 2 folding tables along with a 1' high long table I sometimes borrow in the living room to work on and the big dining table I steal often as well. Having young children I can't keep a workstation setup anymore, closest I have to it is a cutting mat with currently being painted miniatures and the paints I'm using on it I can sometimes sneak down for a half hour or so during the day if I'm lucky.
It used to be theres a desk under all that stuff I admit, but I knew where everything was, why it was there and stuff got rotated depending on what project I felt like working on that day.

sry... had to vote other as well... i got one desk and it is piled with so much that i cant find my impeial gaurd officer underneath the monoliths and orks and chaos and paint bruches and paint and scaples and peices of timber and cups of dirty water and bits of tanks and sentinals and random junk from around the house and foam and old chess peices and terrain and glue and i think i have a 20 dollar note in there somewhere and my photo id etc etc... i need to clean it

I have a workshop with a painting area that shames most GW stores.. And I can't find it! Also 4 other tables in the house that are in a similar state. All together i have about 40 ft of cluttered work bench.

Well underneath that pile of clothes and paints (theres probably some pizza aswell) there is a desk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got two desks. Both well organized.

My assembly desk has all the tools stored in a rotating tool caddy, a pegboard for Dremmel and drill bits, and storage units for necessary supplies and bitz.

My painting desk (and computer desk) has a 6-level paintier in one corner and brush holders off to the side. The actual desk surface is kept clean except for the models currently being worked on, and sometimes a cup of tea.

Well, I can't see my desk but I'm pretty sure that it's there.

Things move around under the clutter, and I'm pretty sure they're not my cats.

Other - I paint out of a big shoe box either on top of the dining room table or most often on the floor, where I sit cross-legged (causes some leg cramps and such).

I'm very organized, generally. Not quite anal (it's perfectly reasonable to expect everything to be left as you left it when borrowed, right? *shakes angry fist at majority of housemates*), but that's more my own efforts to curb it, lest I go absolutely insane when my Tetris-shaming organization efforts are casually torn apart by an idiot who wants to steal my pliers and electrical tape to make a bong (it's happened before, sadly, and more than once, now that I think back...).

To the untrained eye, my space is cluttered, perhaps, but everything is very neat when you really take a few minutes to look. Free table space does not equal organization. I've got WAY too much crap to store for that (I also have other small tools for other small projects, although many have proven useful for minis). I've got boxes, shelves, parts containers, jars, etc. holding everything in its right place. That place just happens to be one of many, covering 70% (30% workspace) of a table, as well as two small bookcases.

My bin looks tidier than my desk.

I had no clue that I had a desk, so much junk over it...

Let's see... my desk currently has several books, some shelves, an empty Mountain Dew 12-pack box, two half-full 2-liters, a Rhino, and Predator, a bunch of WHFB bases, A box of Cocoa Puffs, my cell phone, a bunch of magazines, a bunch of CDs, a pair of scissors, a water bottle, a mug, 2 tupperware containers, a mechanical pencil, a box cutter, a flash drive, assorted pieces of paper, a case full of Warhammer bits, and a fan on it.

I should probably clear that gak off so I can cover it with models and paintbrushes instead.

my painting station is less of a desk, more of an ikea-furniture-and-root-beer-can fortress. I kneel at a coffee table (yes, kneel; if the Japanese high schools can teach you anything, it's how to be comfortable kneeling for hours at a time), with a barrier of soda cans on one side, and a wall on the other.

Good ole impenetrable, impregnable, impractical painting fortress....

I've only got two things on my desk: my lamp and my laptop. I have to pack all my painting stuff away onto my shelf, all in boxes.

My desk has no end of junk pilled on top of it usually.

My workbench serves as both painting station and assembly/conversion area. It goes through phases where I'll clean it off entirely except for the paint carousel and the bits trays, and then as projects come and go the work area gets smaller and smaller as bits, bobs and new incoming goodies pile up.

Right now on my 2'x 4' table I have about a 6" square area to work and the rest is clutter! Of course the good news is part of the clutter is my Ork Mega Dred and Medusa conversions that just arrived...

well .. *looks at desk* Lets get counting shall we ? My desk has three or four plastic mugs , a water container , three fresca bottles , one mountain dew , LOADS of paints , some finsihed models , some unfinished models , empty containers , bits , basing material , glue , lamp , three bottles of PVA glue , GW water effect bottle , some video games , used papertowels , plastic stuff i cant remember where i got it , some cans of beer left there by my older brother , lots of bases , AoBR ork horde and finaly a small empty space for one mini at at time to get pained at , lots of paint splatters on that area though ...

Well, too bad I can't change my vote, I just relocated room and the desk is compleatly empty.

I have no desk at home for painting, so use the kitchen table which the wife insists is kept clear when I'm not using it.

My work desk on the other hand...

I don't have a desk, so all my painting and modelling stuff is scattered around most of the house.

so instead of having a messy desk, its kind of made the entire downstairs of the house messy.

My painting desk doubles as the table on which I break bread with the old lady, so it is generally clean. However, I'm disgusted with myself that I don't have a disgusting painting desk littered with bits, junk, flotsam and jetsam. Part of the motivation to move is so I can have said desk.

It's a bit cluttered,but in all the chaos I know were every thing is.

I have an entire room ringed with countertops and a big central table. All COVERED in clutter.

right this second i dont have a desk i have some shelves and the top of my draws as a workstation *alot of standing* so all my painting has come ot a holdstill untill i finish painting my room *if i even get there intime :(* then the progress will roll in

Lets see one of those overpriced GW Paint Station thingys (was a freebie so i aint complaining ^^), Wireless dongle thing, PC Monitor, current finished projects waiting to be packed away, ps3 controllers and games, oh and about 600 empty glasses i cba to take downstairs.

Its not a mess though, it may look messy but trust me its organized.

I have a desk somewhere at the back of the spare room chosen to house my boxes of stuff-I-haven't-unpacked-yet since I finally finished moving house yesterday. There are boxes on top on it. At the moment I mostly paint at the FLGS anyway.

I seriously can't find a desk under all the crap on my desk
