Well, I didn't know what to put in the intro bar so I used a random Simpsons quote from the Quick-E-Mart.

Anyhow, 27/m living in Petawawa, Ontario Canada, and a soldier. Aside from 40K, I'm pretty much an outdoors guy (love to fish and hunt) but love video games, reading and.... well, weapons! Have a collection going of bows and rifles and shotguns now... sort of combines well with the hunting.

Crept around the idea of Warhammer 40K for a while - always loved strategy games, from Risk to Starcraft to Chess to what I see as the near ultimate, Warhammer 40K. Oh sure, chess is great but you can't blow things up or watch a giant war unfold in front of you complete with terrain!

So, I made my plunge and fielded an army of Necron. Strangely, I have yet to actually play ... though I have watched a lot. I want to make sure I have a solid understanding of the rules first and make sure my entire army is painted before I begin (monolith is almost done and boy it's been fun).

This forum has been a huge help to me. I've read about all the races, the tons of battle reports, seen some amazing paint jobs etc. About the only thing I have to wonder now is to buy the Tyranid or new Dark Eldar as my next army.

I almost bought a DE force a few months ago, but the local games store owner told me to wait cause new ones were coming. In the mean time I fell for the Tyranids but now I hear the seduction of the DE calling me .. Wish I knew what to choose.

With that aside, hello to everyone and glad to be here! I figured creeping time is over, time to join the community.

To be honest I sort of like both (hence the hard time). Though people at the local store seem rather hell bent on telling me how Tyranid will stomp Dark Eldar any day of the week!

Wonder how many other people go through the "what army do I choose" situation haha, I am so bad for that.

Dark Eldar will be amazing! But prepare to be glared at when people who have been playing them for years look at you with your new models while they are still waiting with their old ones because they cant afford the new ones yet.. Definately not talking about myself there... lol
