Hi guys

Thanks once again for all your comments. I'm really enjoying being creative but not too OTT on these vehicles. Here are a couple of answers to your thoughts questions.

@ Disjointed Entity - I've been thinking about working on a guide. I might just do that once I've finished the Blood Pact project.

@ Death by Monkeys - the symbols are freehand and the head, as Platuanth4th said, is from the Baneblade sprue. A while back a bunch of friends around the country sent me their standing BB commander bodies and the heads they weren't using.

@ Cadaver - I'm thinking about a battlewagon conversion, but I'm not sure what weapon I'd put in the truck bed. Some sort of artillery piece or AA gun, I think.

@ sA - the orky gun cupola stands pretty tall and I think that's part of the visual issue you're picking up on. I'm waiting to hear what the Chimeras will actually be able to be armed with, but I'm keen to do some up with snub-nose autocannon mounts.

@jah - thanks mate. It can be very easy to go overboard. Also it takes less time with a less is more approach ; )

@ Platuanth4th - I'm really looking forward to seeing that BW conversion finished. I love the idea of turning it into a mobile command center.

@ Dante - My book hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

Cheers
Dave

I got to see Dave painting in action. Trust me, he's coming along with the project, and was even chatting about his "next two stalker tanks."

Hi guys

Yep, things have been a bit light on the Blood Pact lately. A combination of baby prep (there's a lot of stuff you need apparently), tax time, friends from out of town, other hobby projects (posted on my blog), and a steady increase in new tasks for my new job have meant reduced time on the Blood Pact.

As Chrispy says though, I've been painting on my Stalk Tank and hope to get more done over the weekend for an early next week update. I'm thinking about running a contest to create a couple of datasheets for the Stalk Tanks. Should be fun.

Cheers

So they have you doing the parenting classes and stuff Dave? I only ask because I work at a hospital and see people going to them a lot.

I don't think any lack of activity would prevent people from still waiting for more, and I'm sure most everyone here understands that life comes before hobbies.

Can't wait to see that painted Stalk Tank though.

Hi guys

I've just put up another post on my blog, this one about rivets on models and four methods to make them. The link is in my signature.

@ BrotherStynier - yep, had five weeks of three hour classes. Oh the things you get to see and talk about : 0

@ Dante - it's a girl, you know the old "Gamer Curse" tale ; )

@ T3h_Guppy - the symbols were hand painted. I started with a circe traced around a base, then painted in lines for the arrows, then spent quite a bit of time fleshing them out and highlighting them.

@ sA - Less than two weeks til due date.

@ BoxANT - thanks mate, Hopefully I'll have the Stalk Tank finished soon.

Cheers

Ah, well the hobby needs more females anyway!

Looking forward to seeing what you do for the vehicles, particularly the SteG4 as I haven't seen any good conversions for this done.

Thats a great tutorial for making rivets and bravo for covering a range of methods. I find another (more time consuming) method for really small rivets is to use green stuff, a technical pencil (the ones with the thin rods of graphite) and a little vaseline. Put a small blob of GS where you want the rivet, put some vaseline on the tip of the technical pencil and then stamp the GS with it. Once its stamped and sorted simply trim the excess with a sharp scalpel.

Have had some thought for the Purge project, will email my character preferences just now. I think a few overlap but we can discuss which we will each do.

Cheers,

Dante

I think its safe to say, I'll be fine on waiting a few more years before having to go to one of those classes. The rivet tutorial seems like it'll come in hand when I eventually get around to my Chaos Guard, all I know about them thus far is they won't be Blood Pact, I would feel far to inadequate next to you.

Don't stress the girl, Dave

I've got 3 kids. Girls on the outside and a son in the middle.

My son only ever took a real interest in Pokemon & Dragnball Z CCG's, with MTG coming in as he got older (which he's long since dropped). My girls are the gaers, with my oldest only begin really interested in RPG's, and my youngest interested in all "gaming" and miniatures.

May your luck be as good as mine with daughters.

Hi guys

Thanks for all the kind comments. My wife and I are really looking forward to the new parenting experience.

I've just posted pics of my Stalk Tank on my blog and I'll post a few here too.

I think my lights might've been too close to the light tent so I'll take some more pictures once we're home from the hospital and settled.

I hope you enjoy them.

Wow.

Love the mantis stalk tank.

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me.

Wonderful work Dave. I love what you did with the base on this stalk tank.

Its a mini diorama in itself!

Also the work on the tanks (Malcador and variants) in earlier pages in great. How did you get those cultist arrows and 8 pointed star shapes? Stencil, masking fluid, or masking tape?

They look fantastic.

I think this project gets more amazing/incredible/jaw-dropping in terms of your skill with plasticard and modelling everytime you post.

Three of those stalk tanks! That's just sinister... in a good way!
