Here is a battle report from Bostria and Yasbir.

...Accesing O-12 files... ...Confidential...

Clouds over Al-Hadiye. by Bostria & Yasbir.

A cloudy sunset over Quibilah, the region of the Paradiso planet which professes the glorious Haqqislamite faith.

A numerous contingent of Haqqislamite troops take positions in a laboratory complex, where they hope to contact and destroy the advance of the Hyperpower. PanOceania, powerful, greedy, always envying the advances in biotechnology of its Haqqislamite neighbors has sent to some of its better soldiers in a mission still to clarify.

The brutality and great power of its advance show the little respect that they have by the forces of the new Islam, the incursion are coarse, exceeded of forces, almost seem that they are looking directly for the confrontation.

Some analysts of Haqqislam aim at that this battle was merely a distraction maneuver to conceal another and more important black operation.

After filtering communications, Military Intelligence has gotten to consider that the Panoceanian troops were being commanded by Araphan, known and feared officer of the Hyperpower, veteran of difficult fronts which it has left victorious.

Leading the troops of the glorious nation of the Haqqislam was Yasbir, the most loyal of the loyalists on the planet Bourak.

The intrepid Panoceanian commander obtained advantage in the troop deployment, being able to take good account from what kind of army he will face before forming its own lines.

Haqqislam 300 pts.
Group 1:
- Janissary Lieutenant
- Hassassin Ragik
- 2 Muttawi`ah
- 2 Naffatum
- Fiday with EXP CCW
- Khawarij

Group 2:
- 2 Naffatum
- 2 Kum Motorized Troops
- Touareg Sniper
- Djanbazan HMG
- Hunzakut

PanOceania 300pts.
- Cutter Lieutenant
- Aquila Guard HMG
- Nisse HMG
- Akal Sikh
- 5 Fusiliers (one of them Paramedic)

A Hassassin Fiday impersonator stayed with his holographic disguise near the enemy’s Zone of Deployment, but without entering it nor being at Line of Fire of any Panoceanian troops.

Araphan wins the Initiative. PanOceania´s 1st Turn.

Taking advantage of a terrible error in the Deployment of his enemy, the Aquila Guard, using his advantageous Multispectral Visor L3, unload a burst of his Heavy Machine Gun on the Hunzakut that trusted to pass inadvertent thanks to its CH: Camouflage Special Skill. The Haqqislamite skirmisher becomes the first casualty of the battle.

The Cutter, just a sinister silhouette, advances quietly by the zone of conflict under the cloak of his Thermo-Optical Camouflage.

When obtaining Line of Fire with a confused Kum motorized trooper, the camouflaged T.A.G. reveals itself showing its imposing presence before unloading a lethal burst of EXP Special Ammunition on the impetuous motorist, who dies inmediately.

The next target of the Cutter is the red turban of the Khawarij. The T.A.G. opens fire over him, who only can Dodge, because his adversary is out of the effective range of his Rifle. But this time, the superb Physics value of the Khawarij are defeated by the Cutter marksmanship, and the haqqislamite soldiers falls.

The Thermo-Optical T.A.G. unmanned thanks to the Remote Presence Special Skill, stops its advance, retreating to avoid be exposed. The presence of a Djanbazan trooper with his Multispectral Visor L2 concerns it.

When withdrawing, the Cutter assumes the task of ending the life of a Naffatum. That must be a routine mission for this armoured combat machine, but something surprises to him.

A beautiful Touareg armed with a Sniper Rifle reveals her Hidden Deployment position to strike an accurate blow to the Hyperpower army.

In spite of facing the
the T.A.G.'s  superior burst, the dune skirmisher obtains a Critical hit that disturbs the enemy commander.

Araphan does not want to repeat the Face to Face roll against the TO Camouflaged skirmisher with the –6 Modifier to his BS, so he orders to his Nisse the task of ending the Touareg. The Nisse´s HMG culminates this task successfully.

Spending the Lieutenant´s Order, Araphan camouflages the Cutter under the warm and secure cloak of its Thermo-Optical Camouflage.

Haqqislam´s 1st Turn.

The impetuous Muttawi´ah advance hard...

... as like their motorized Kum companion.

After the advances due to the wrath, it is the moment of the careful movements. The Fiday surprises the Aquila Guard with its disguise and shoot him the complete burst of his Rifle, but this bounces in the armour of this elite trooper who give back the fire. The armour of the Fiday also holds that reaction´s shot, but few are the desire of the impersonator to return to try something like that.

The fear also is real for the Aquila Guard, who hides himself going Prone.

The Djanbazan sits in the window waiting for any reaction of the Cutter - to get Line of Fire on it. But the camouflaged T.A.G. doesn’t make any action, trusting in the effectiveness of his Thermo-Optical gear. But, the faith of the haqqislamite troopers is deep, and the Djanbazan discovers the combat machine without any problem.

The Irregular Kum rider consumes its own Order in an attempt to damage the impenetrable armour of the T.A.G. but its action is unfruitful and the motorized trooper dies in the attempt.

The Djanbazan, annoyed by the invulnerability of the enemy super machine, doesn´t hesitate in firing his weapon over it, destroying the Cutter.

The Panoceanian Lieutenant falls down.

The Hassassin Ragik descends in the enemy’s Deployment Zone, optimistic with the  fall of the Cutter’s technological terror.

But Allah is not with him, because in successive attempts to damage the enemy forces the paratrooper falls down by a Critical, nor its Dogged Special Skill maintains his life.

The Irregular Muttawi´ah advance more and more into the battlefield.

PanOceania´s 2nd Turn.

The Panoceanian commander has to name a new Lieutenant, therefore he does it, so he is now ready to hold another turn of the insistent Haqqislamite attack.

Haqqislam´s 2nd Turn.

One of the Impetuous Muttawi´ah charges against the Hyperpower´s defenses. His Chain Rifle threats the wealth of the Nisse in several occasions, but the Cover saves his life. The Muttawi´ah insists on his attacks, but the reaction shots of the Nisse end with the life of this Impetuous troop.

Indignant with the endurance of the Nisse, the Fiday opens fire against the prepotent Panoceanian. But the Nisse does not want to lose its position, and, during the dramatic exchange of fire, the Fiday falls down.

The last Order of Haqqislam is used by the Djanbazan in putting a defiant Fire of Suppression on the position of the annoying Aquila Guard, who is still Prone.

PanOceania´s 3rd Turn.

The Aquila Guard, humiliated after the attack of the Fiday, tries to recover his pride entering the barrage and accepting the challenge of the valiant Djanbazan. With firmness, the Panoceanian elite trooper gets up and shoots the complete burst of his weapon, facing it against the one of the Djanbazan. The firings of Haqqislamite soldier prevail and pass through the armour of the Aquila, knocking down him.

Decided to prevail in the battle, Arapahan descends an Akal Sikh, a panocenian paratrooper, to access the  flank of the Haqqislamite
Deployment Zone .

Surprising several Naffatum, the Akal Sikh kills them accurately, one of them with a Critical shot.

Finally, the lucky advance of the Sikh allows him to arrive face to face with the enemy Lieutenant: a Janissary armed with an AP Rifle.

That is a confrontation of religious troops, of creeds and faith.

The Akal Sikh leaves victorious, causing two Wounds to Haqqislamite Lieutenant.

The Djanbazan, only survivor of this combat is forced to retreat, full of resentment, and eager to return to fight another day.

Conclusion

The battle has been difficult, both sides have lost valuable troops and had opportunities to prevail. But from the distance, united by cold cables and nanotechnological advances, the true strategists know there is only one winner.

The Victory is for PanOceania. The Victory is for Araphan.

I really want to take credit, but alas I cannot. The Graphics were done by Bostria and Yasbir as well. Damn their talent!

That was an amazing bat-rep! Possibly the best I have seen. Now I have some serious photo shop envy

How do I add same stars to this puppy, it needs to be promoted?

Uhhh... apparently the way to get stars added is to ask how stars get added....

Purely in the name of science: So how do you take stars away?

ps. The minis and terrain rock too. Although I bite my heathen tounge I say it, I am getting more and more comfortable with the idea of paper terrain, especially as I get older have less time and an ever increasing range of genres, periods and scales of minis.

LOL. I saw your suggestion for making this a five star report and thought to myself  "damn good idea, this report is great".

Hence why my single vote has given it five stars.

To rate a thread, go to the top of the thread, you will see 5 blank white "empty" stars lined up (if there are no votes present yet). Click the one you feel rates the thread the best. The one on the left being the lowest, the one on the right being the highest.

Markheim, is the cardstock(I'm assuming) terrain an available product somewhere or something someone custom designed and printed out? I'd love to get my grubby paws on some of that stuff as the 40K terrain I have doesn't look right IMHO for a regular game of Infinity. An occasional game, but not regular games.

Somewhere in south-central England.

That is one of the best battle reports I've ever seen.

Brilliant graphics and I loved your narrative as well.

I've got the Infinity rules but not played a game yet. It seems you need plenty of cover so cardboard buildings are a great solution.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

The terrain is made from templates available from Infinity's online ezine, Biblioteck Files, though I forgot if it's issue 1 or 2. You can also find some great products from http://www.worldworksgames.com/ and the tutorials of how to assemble it. I always thought I was old school and I would never use paper terrain, but after so many failed and incomplete terrain projects the card terrain is better than anything I could have done and saved me heaps of time and money. And, Killkrazy is right, in a game that NEEDS a lot of cover and terrain, building it all without quitting my job, selling my dog, and kicking out my girlfriend wasn't going to happen. Don't get me wrong, I think I'd still prefer to have glorious and insanely detailed heaps of 3d terrain, but that's been a very distant dream for well over a decade!

Would you be offended if I say I didn't read the battle report until my third time through? I spent a few minutes just looking at the pretty pictures.

This is the most amazingly pewpew-tastic Battle Report I've ever had the pleasure of looking at.

Hey guys, perhaps you should try to read what he's saying The batrep isn't his work, it's Bostria and Yasbir. While I'm not sure who Yasbir is, Bostria is the guy who BoW intreviewed during the latest infinity week. Also, these batreps are old, so I'm sad to say that since there hasn't been any new ones in... years? Or something like that, so odds are there wont be any new in quite some time.
