We got to see the mould for one of the Samaratans yesterday on the McVey forum (interesting), and Ali has promised us more teaser shots later so here's hoping

The longer they wait to put it up, the more likely I am to get two biohazard sets instead of the one. Must resist!

Very good! The second guy looks much bigger than the first, I thought they would be more similar.

They're different levels. One is a level 2 strain and the first is a level 1. Makes sense it's a little bigger

Beaten to it today,

Looking good as well, and Ali says she'll try and paint one up in comparison to the resin version when they arrive 'in house'

I think the curve on the back works really well giving the sculpt some movement from what could have been a fairly static pose

detail looks a wee bit soft. still, might just be the photo, and I guess some compromises have to be made for that price

I sincerely hope they stay like this. I was originally worried that the models would have slotta-bases, which would completely ruin the look of the base to have a blank line through the awesome detail. It would be great if they just had a plug under one foot that would go into a hole in the base.

Also, the last image looks great. It's a bit "soft", but still is a very nice version of realistic-looking female body armor, without the usual emphasis on "the boobs".

They're both Level 2s, but one's from the Scythe Witch line and the other's from the Brimstone line.

I've been playing Dead Space since I picked it up from Steam's recent sale, and I think it does a better job with the Strain concept than Sedition Wars does. These ones remind me too much of the worst of Chaos, where "Chaos" means "It's got holes in it!"

Will there be a way to buy more vanguard? Wondering about swapping my strain for vanguard since I'm really just after the models.

That is insanely cheap.

....too cheap! I am wanting to see what kind of miniature sprues we are talking about coz those demo minis in the video look freaking awesome, but wouldnt be surprised if they are the metal or resin masters/prototypes of the plastic minis.

There's supposed to be at some point, but we don't know when or for how much. In the meantime you can always do what I'm doing and buy the Opticamo pack to get eleven grunts and four special characters for $30.

50% marginally perhaps.
I think the Mcveys&co would like to earn back dev time from that. You mind?

I sadly have already fallen foul of this idea. Will be adjusting my order up as soon as its up.

The female figure looks quite cool, I am eager to see the final scale, although I mainly got this game for the boardgame, the idea of using some of the Vanguard as a counts as Stormtrooper Squad has it merits.

Well, this way we can drill holes the way we like and position them as we want. That´s even better than having only one valid position for them on the base.

I agree completely, think that the models in this game should have a lot of uses beyond the obvious ones! I'm planning on using them as a security/0-12 force for Infinity for instance, and the strain models for some of the sci-fi zombie scenarios that are floating around.

I'm not too sure how well these models will fit alongside the basic GW Imperial Guard range - even though they are 28mm they are not heroically scaled, so the proportions might look a bit off. They are also a bit more 'hard sci-fi' look, and a little different in concept to the 40k universe - although that would be instantly dispelled if you had an entire army of the things

Interesting, if they are indeed slightly smaller, it occurs to me that a Whiteshields squad, where they are all supposed to be 15-17, not fully grown might be an idea. Using a Special training armour, that equates to Flak.

Will have to wait till I can put them side by side with Imperial Guard.

They would also look good as models to represent the breakaway humans being supplied by the Tau. The armor suits look more like tau body armor if it were made for humans.

Nice idea! I was planning on using them as ST or possibly elysians/tech-y guard, but the smooth shapes definitely fit Tau human auxiliary well.

Thanks Dave! That is some pretty useful scale for us 40k players!

I don't suppose you have an Infinity model lying around for comparisons as well do you? I guess they would be a little tall as Infinity tends to be smaller than 40k and Mantic stuff.
