Bounding Black Templar Assault Marine

This is my first chaos list, I am primarily a tyranid player. I am creating a swarm army, and felt that it may be a good idea to to collect a elite force of relatively few, tough models.
I first thought of Gray Knights, but I don't like the look of space marines, and I couldn't create a unique paint scheme or theme.
Then I stummbled on plague marines and nurgle. Not only do they look awesome (one of the most import things to me when chosing units! ) they are infamous for how much fire power they can take. Plus, I had always loved the idea of deepstrike, but whenever I have used it, three times, it scattered everytime and the unit was detroyed, so you can see they I would be nervous about using it! I then saw the chaos icon rules, and so wanted to use these to get lots of deepstriking units, that don't break both legs on impact and can't fight...

Anyway, how I will play the list: Everything in termiator armour will be held in reserve, the Choas Lord will be attached to the termiators though the independant character rule, and will deep strike into the game, so there is only the 2 Plauge marines in rhinos, a CC dreadnought and defiler on the table at the start of the game. The marines will race toward the important points and the deepstriking units the have two opions where they deepstrike eg. the terminators can drop down near units vunerable to CC and the oblitorators can drop down so they have LOS on vunerable armour and units. The plauge marines are also perfect for capturing control points, and so the rhinos can race the marines towards them.

So here is the lsit...

8 claws are totally waste.

give your PMs some real weapon, like fists or plasmas

So your plan is to sit on two objectives with the Plague Marines and use everything else to contest or clear the rest?

Personally, I like to have at least three troop units on the board. You could cut down your PM squads to 7 or 8 models, give 'em melta guns and then throw in a smaller Chaos marine squad in a transport.

Also, though I don't think you're light on anti-armor, I think your AA choices can be avoided or exploited. They all (or most) rely on getting close. Find room for another Obliterator and (as mentioned before) outfit some of your troop choices with lascannons or meltaguns.

That's my two cents.

Holy jeezus, that Terminator squad is 43 points per model. Waaaay too high. They need to be like 36 or 37. They are sucking up nearly a third of your army. If you want a lot of Deepstriking elements, cut the Terminators into 3 squads of 4. Give them 1 Chainfist, a Heavy Flamer and 2 Combi-weapons. 3 of those squads come out to just 20 points over what you have now, but is much more effective. I'd also drop the Lord's Terminator armor and take him with a Plague Marine squad so that can help them clean out enemy objectives.

The Plague Marines have to be equiped to fight, because they have to beat enemies off of objectives (both yours and his). Cut down on the Plague Marine squads to 7 or so and get a second squad as well. Plague Marines are invulnerable to anti-infantry fire, so don't worry about needing large squads.

Both the Dreadnaught and Defiler are too unreliable. If the Defiler takes any serious fire, it'll get immobilized and weapon destroyed and be dead in the water for the rest of the game. The Dreadnaught on the other hand is going to spend 1/3 of the game not doing what you want it to regardless of the enemy. Get the Defiler some weapons (it is a gunboat first, melee unit second) and drop the Dreadnaught for some upgrades.

The Obliterators are fine. That is where you are going to be getting your Multi-Melta power (they'll need to Deepstrike to get close). Given that, you might want to take 2 Flamers on the objective taking Plague Marines squad (with the Lord in tow), and Plas/Melta on the other two.
