I had heard that Andy Hoare had quit GW. Does anybody know if this is true, and if so why?

He's a git?

What was he responsible for, besides writing books?

Andy Hoare left GW a month or two back. he's currently doing various bits of freelance work -- including some stuff for/with FFG and their Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader lines.

He's also one of the guys behind Outcast Games

and he is also continuing to do some work for BL, he is now going to be the author of " The Hunt for Voldorius" from the "Space Marine Battles" series out next year.

AFAIK he was/had been doing the work on the Beastman book, i don't know how much of the final thing will be his work or others.

Shame he's gone, he was damn sound.

What of Andy Hoare's work has really stood out? I can't think of much off the top of my head. Nothing has inspired revulsion from me though.

I can't say I liked his work on the Ordos, but that's mostly because I vehemently disagreed with the idea of three seperate inquisition books with the release schedule as bloated as it is.
What did he write for WFB?

The Tau Empire had some good ideas but was let down badly by poor editing. (It had some crappy ideas too.)

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

Yes but he got help from Robin on that one, though Robin mostly did the background from what I recall and Andy did the rules.

Yep, andy did left the studio in last June.
He did write the lizardmen book, and the inquisition book too IIRC. He is currently writing two novels for the BL.

My death will be avenged millions of rapid fire las bolts, followed by a plethora of heavy weapons artillery and other colorful assortments of death that will send chaos crying back to the warp where they will remain until they come up with another one of their "original" plans

It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Quit it with the massive quoting, and the spam.

Besides, none of you can top HBMC's nickname for Jervis.

He called him Jervis 'Jervis' Johnson due to being too boring to get a nickname.
