I wanted something a little different for my Scorcerer so I bought the Chaos Rogue Psyker from FW and chopped him up a bit.

He isn't wearing power armour obviously so to keep him legal for tournies (It doesn't say anywhere that he has to be wearing his armour just that he has to have it, Thanks Gwar ) I decided to try something creative.

So the premis is that the guy with him (Doubles as his familiar) is carrying his masters Power Armour and using all the psy power he has (not much by all accounts) to keep it afloat.
Ignore the stick as I will be using some clear fibre of some sort in the end result.

This is what I've done so far:












There is alot of GS work to be done, but I thought I'd start from concept to completion.

Critique welcome and expected.

I quite like this. Very cool idea, the psyker's familiar/assistant holding his gear afloat while the boss takes care of business. The models are great, and your conversions are looking good too. I like the match of poses between the psyker and his armour. Keep it up, I am looking forward to more!

Just started the GS work.

Put some dead flesh on the base skull and leg.



And blended the arm a little better plus added the backpack symbols.






Not happy with it yet, needs some better blending and a little adding I think.

It's certainly an excellent concept and well executed so far. The only comment I would make is that given that Space Marines (Chaos or otherwise) are supposed to be genetically engineered and enhanced behemoths, don't you think the dis-robed sorcerer looks a little, well, weedy?

I guess you could explain it away by saying the sorcerer has neglected his gym work to concentrate on the arcane or something...

Good stuff, nonetheless.

I did think that but if you put him next to a normal human model or even a Chaos marine he actually looks quite big.

Who needs muscles when you have the power to pick up any model and lob them with your mind!

Ok,

Primed and ready for paint.

Decided to do the basing last so the dead bits are off for now.

The helper/ familier will be on a similer resin base at the end. Just waiting for them to arrive.

Really happy with the clear perspex rod I got. think it works well!







Will be starting the paint job on monday.

I'm having a little debate with myself wether or not to go OTT on the base.

I'm thinking grass/weeds more body bits and a feature of some sort.

I just don't know what to do.

I could do both and see how they look. But with a 3000pt CSM army to get painted as well i just don't have time.

So basically do you think the model would suit a big base job?

Or just keep it simple?

Help greatly appreciated.

Guess i'll just keep thinking about it and hope i do the right thing.

When it comes to basing, you want people to focus on one, maybe 2 things. The model should be the star of the show, if you put too much on the base then the model could become lost in the fracas. I think the limb and the head look fantastic, if the paintjob can match the conversion then those 2 items along with the sorceror should be more than enough.

Great looking conversions -- particularly the sorcerer. Grafting the possessed sword arm onto the psyker was an inspired idea. The result looks so natural, so organic, so sinister.

very nice, very detailed and cool =) though, i would model on some scratches onto the main sorceror and green stuff tentacled or flames bursting from the familiar

I've decided to go quite minimal as you suggested.

A little 2 tone under brush and the body bits, maybe a few tufts of grass.

Not to be a dick, but what purpose does making the gear float behind him have? Wouldn't it be ebtter to just not have the gear there at all?

If you read the first post it is explained. Without the armour being on the battlefield the Sorceror is not Tournament legal.

A little help.

I'm wondering what colour to wash the robes/skirt. it's a 4:1 mix of VGC squid pink : electric blue (so more violet than it looks in the photos.

I don't want to use purple as the other main colour is purple.

I't 's no biggy as I will just test a load of different ones. Just trying to save some time.

Just wondered if anyone knew of a good wash for light violet to keep it's colour?
