well you say tough competition... but seeing these orks in motion... I think they brawl themselves straight to the win...!

and thanks for the close up of the blast effect...

if I was a better painter I would try this as well for a future project...

While I would have approached some of the details differently (and would still be working on it in 2015 ), I think the overall effect is spot on and I would be proud to own such an Orky piece. Your work just keeps getting better! A worthy addition to your collection and good luck in the competition!

Ok next back to an old project.....The Arz-Arz Unz.

These guys are a purely modelling exercise. I am sure they would not be game legal. Orks with sniper rifles is not allowed. But I say why not. They will not be any good with them, but they mimic a lot and my lads are no exception. These guys are loosely based on the brotherhood pictures from assassins creed, You now the white hoodies and cloaks.

So here is the first lad. Your thoughts are needed. What do you think.

uff.... that cleaver looks notchy^^

the barrel and the scope are completly scratchbuilt, right?... good job!
the sculpting of the cloak looks very good.... where i am not sure is ....is the head section done yet or what? looks weird as if the head is hanging loose?

oh...and i see the stock is a carved one... sprue?

I think you might need a grot to hold up/steady the end of the barrel! Might make a good Loota...

New project.

@ Vik Thanks. Yes usual scratch building for me. Not sure its long enough!!? And yes the head is not fixed, just stuck him together with tac to see how he looks, and get some thoughts.

@ Arakasi. Thank you. I kinda like the idea of a grot actually. Got to think about the length of the barrel. Will see what it looks like when an ork is holding the gun to shoot.

Also today ork trukk kit arrived, so I can start on a conversion I have promised Eternalhero1983, for his army. I asked if I could donate to the cause and he has requested a Grot monster trukk. I will not be painting it. Here's his blog if your interested.

Ok been working on monster trukk.

Cut chassis.

Think I will extend the height, so cut the axles. ( original for comparison).

Pinned a length of sprue in. I opted for 10mm extension.

Put a sleeve over for looks and strength.

Roughly placed in position.

Your thoughts please, and also should I go with the engine at the front or rear? I am thinking the over look will be similar to traditional monster truck's, i.e. pick-up ish.

Oh, I appear to have failed to comment after looking earlier.

I like the rifle, good job.

Monster truck is cool. I was thinking the other day that I hadn't seen any in 40k (in fact I'm going to add that to my list).
Good work on the chassis.
As for the engine, my first thought was front engined. But aren't real ones mid-engined, I'm not sure?
Mid-e' would be tricky to make look good though, so I would still go front engined.

Looking awesome Cam

I really do thank you again for the contribution to my project

I would have to say for the engine, being Orky/ Grot made, it to be some ridiculous rear of the truck. All monster trucks, in the American muscle style, the engine would be in the front of the vehicle. I see that since the Truck is Orkz and Grot made, they do not care much about safety, the rare engine would be an interesting twist. I can see an engine monstrosity with weird exhaust pipes protruding from the sides on the rear of the truck bellowing smoke with a horde of grots on the front holding on for dear life.

I too think the engine should be in front of the trukk...

the current main problem I see with this build tho is that the kits own wheels will prove to be too small... for a true monster trukk you will want to get yourself bigger wheels...where... I have no clue... maybe slaughter a toy?
but I am eager to see where this is heading...

I have a template paper-version of a hummer truck if you want a different looking chassis...

I think pop the engine next to the driver if possible. That way he can argue with it, or talk nice to it to try and go fasta. My son will love the looks either way as its a monster truck.

Update to Monster trukk, with pics.

@ Dr.H Thank you. The rifle will be added to. Still working on those guys, in-between. As to engine, I think I am going with front. See below.

@ Eternalhero1983. Thank you and you are welcome, I am honoured to help. As to the trukk, well see below, and let me know, it's never too late to alter anything, and indeed once it's in your hands you can remodel all you like, I am cool.

@ Vik. Thank you and you are correct as always , however, due to the nature of the competition Eternalhero1983 is entering this in, I am afraid I have to keep it as much GW as possible, especially as he may wish to alter it once he has his hands on it, and I want to leave him some flexability.

@ KingCracker. Thank you. I tried to make it look natural, if you know what I mean.

@ Theo. Love the idea and thinking of trying to incorporate this somehow. Thank you.

@ bigfish. Thank you. I like to make them look like there is some action going on, rather than static, lined up waiting. Really happy I am getting close.

@ Dave Thank you I am honoured. High praise from the master himself.

Ok gosh thank you for all your thoughts, I am feeling really great now, thank you.

Update.
Well trial of engine placement. As I said above nothing is final, and all can have there say on anything I am doing here.

So first I need an engine. Now I thought about the engine from the trukk, and may yet use it, but no ork is going to let a grubby little grot have a nice motor like that so, how about the engine from a kan, with a bit of conversion....

So placing that on the running gear....

Then I decided to build up some of the front end. I will probably add some silly wheel arches later.

Going to leave it as at least two parts so it's easier to paint.

Please keep the comment coming, and your thoughts are greatly appreciated, good and bad. I am not sure if my bonnets too long.

I do have a question, what's the official line on material use for competition. Eternalhero1983 intends I hope to use this in his armies on parade contest, with the hope of making it to the demons. I do not want this contraption to let him down at all, so please does anyone know the % requirements? Have I blown it already?

that engine and gear setup looks weird to me... BUT... I have absolutely no grasp of anything engine like whatsoever... so you may absolutely take my views and just ignore them

and I see... of course regulations must be kept...!

BUT... it also shows... you need to make one of these afterwards for your own needs

Not where I should be

Small update kinda:

@ Shas thanks.

@ Vik, Here is the driver as requested.

I took a Gorka Morka ork driver, and chopped him up a bit.

Comparison with original model. You can see I chopped his legs off. and his head off and carved a stump for the head to attach to. The arms are original, and not glued on to aid painting. He is maybe a little big for a grot but the seating position is pretty good.

Heres a different shot of the front. Thinking of adding a big airscoop to the top of the engine, not sure I want to enclose the bonnet? Maybe have a grot hitting it with a hammer instead.
I am not sure what else at the mo.

Oh and look what I found my son playing with.........don't know how he got the image, probably off the web. Bit scary really.

And thank you Vik for that link answer. Hopefully worked above.

And finally...... I won the competition with "Uwee". I am sooooooo honoured and proud. There was some amazing work by everyone involved, can't believe I won.
So here is a linked pic of "Uwee" so you can have a nice close look and maybe make my year and vote.

Thank you for looking.

Good work on the driver.
The truck is looking good, but the front wheels are now looking like they're too far back. Although it may not look as bad (not that it actually looks bad, I'm just having an English fail) if there was something to fill the space below the front of the truck, like bodywork or even a grot hanging on... Only a suggestion.

Congratulations on the win.
Your pictures are working and I have voted on the Uwee.

ah... so you cut up the legs and changed the head...that is something i must remember!

and congratz mister for winning the panda and ruglud competition!
well earned... very well earned!

the lego mini looks a bit like an alien... nice out of the (lego-) box thinking of your son, not scary... you should be proud... i really don´t like peeps that always play with bricks and the re built their guides only... that shows a lack of fantasy... imagination... now that is somthing that really stays with you and helps you in other circumstances later on!

and as for the trukk... yeah a grot hammering away at the engine... that will be the winning ticket!

by the way... again to the driver... what arms did you use?

Made in gb
Gargantuan Great Squiggoth

Not where I should be

@ Vik The arms are the Gorka morka ones. They came with a steering device attached. And thank you. Congrats on getting 2nd with your amazing Grot Flyer.

@ Dr H. Thank you sir. I know what you mean about the front end.

I am not sure what to do. I was thinking of a couple wheel arches, and a ram/ dozer blade crossed my mind. Now thinking of having a grot hanging underneath tinkering with the engine, got to keep that baby running. Or maybe in a sling, acting like a front gunner, like in the WW2 bombers, but without the glass! Or do I just move the wheels forward a bit. Any thoughts on this are most welcome please.
