Hey guys just wanted to post my finished Archon, first try at a NMM power sword type deal and first ever black cloak lol. Was a learning process and I think it turned out ok. He looks a bit shiny but it's late and I had to put the lamps real close with no natural light. My idea for the base was based on the huskblade's description of evaporating the moisture in anything it touches, thus the already turned to a skeleton fallen enemy under his feet...also I really don't like how the huskblade arm is set to be really close to the body, had to be changed.

Anyways let me know what you think, C&C always appreciated. Cheers!

Edit: Oh and he doesn't have a back piece because I'm waiting for my first box of warriors to show up and then he will get a PGL. O.o

It looks nice. The sword turned out particularly well.

About the cloak: you might be better served by confining your highlights to the edges and highest points/folds. Right now it looks grey.

Very striking, the red highlights look particularly effective.

I agree with that. The cloak is the only thing that looks off but it really stands out from behind.

Don't get me wrong though, spectacular job on it. The sword is awesome and I love the base.

Thanks a bunch guys. I know the cloak does seem a bit odd but I actually kind of like the grey. I'm probably going to wait until I have a PGL painted and on his back to see what the overall effect will be and then if I need to I will change up the cloak.

Thanks for checkin it out though and I'm glad you like it. Time to start working on finishing my raider crew O.o.

I really dig the sword, it comes off as an evil power weapon. Would you mind a quick summary on how you did it? I'd like to emulate it as I think it looks much better than the typical glowsaber or lightning arcs that a lot of power weapons are represented by.

Not a problem. I started off with a 2:1 hawk turquoise and chaos black to basecoat the sword, then I put pure hawk turquoise wherever the lighter areas would be. After you pick your highlight locations begin to add a little skull white to your hawk turquoise and layer it onto the highlighted areas. I did about 4 different shades of hawk and white mixes. Biggest thing is to not add too much white to the final highlight or it ends up looking kind of weird, the final highlight should just barely stand out from the previous highlight. I had that issue but was able to fix it.

Here is the tutorial I based this sword off of.

Hope this helps and again thanks for the comments guys.
