Hey Everyone,
This is my very first completed squad ever! I am new to 40k. Let me know what you think of my Thousand Sons. Anything I could do to improve?

Despite the fact that these are your first models, they are still really really good.

When I see a thread called "Very First Squad" I was expecting to say "nice first attempt, in the future how about trying.......", but I'm genuinely impressed.

Quite a good effort. Keep it up and you'll have a great looking force in no time. I think you have a solid understanding and you clearly make an effort, so as far as improvement goes...

Thank you for all of the kind comments. I knew that I had forgotten something. I will be drilling those barrels tonight haha.

Aside from the barrel drilling, I've got nothing. Lovely job. You've painted before, or you just have a knack for this kind of thing?

@htj - Actually I bought the AoBR set and tested different styles and techniques with painting but that is about it.

Then you've certainly got the knack for it! You've really brought out the best in these minis, well done.

Oh, one small note. The bases look awesome, but the protrusions from the sides might cause some hassle when it comes to arranging combats and such. I doubt anyone'll kick up a fuss about it, but it could be a bit of a pain in-game.

Excellent work.
Superb choice of a first unit.
If you don't mind me asking, what was your paint palette?

@Sharkvictim - Yeah I am happy to Share. its actually disgustingly simple. All Citadel Paints.

1st - Used a slightly watered down chaos black (two coats) as a base.
2nd - I just painted the Gold (Shining Gold), Blue (Ultramarine), Silver (gunmetal), Eyes and mouth green (Goblin Green). Just one coat.
3rd - Then I simply used Badab Black Wash over everything. I only did one coat of the wash since I was happy with the finished product.

I don't mix my paints honestly because I am a bit worried about the colors not coming out how I like and recreating them to look the same. It looks like it would be complicated but since I am new to painting I like to start of simple but I am extremely happy with the end product.

Thanks again for all the nice comments I appreciate it. Makes me want to go paint!

Great looking models!

The only thing i could say to make them even better, would be a little highlighting.

But like everyone else has said, you're a natural, keep it up.
