"I have no tolerance for incompetents. If you are not helping me, then you are in my way. I have the blessings of all the Gods....well, all but the insect that is Nurgle. I will show him why all the Chaos gods crave my favor. For I will lead them in the war to stamp out the Imperium and I will give them all the souls they can consume. Thus is my ambition. Thus is the hunger of the Chaos Gods.
Lord Nurgle, you are a fool to support the weakling Rathius. Come place your patronage on a true conqueror and I will make each and every planet I conquer a place of festering pus and boiling rot for you. If not, then to the Warp with you. I will strengthen the domain of the other 3 Chaos Gods. Watch as their power grows while yours weakens.
And finally, Lord Rathius, you are a blight in in my eyes. You are the parasite that feeds off of the gak I leave behind. How dare you think that you are my equal, you arrogant, insolent piece of pus. I will show you who the real favored of the Gods is."
- Lord Abaddon, in regards to the Chaos Lord Rathius.
-----------------------------------------------------
Just had a mega 1-on-1 Apoc battle. It's 10K of Chaos versus 10K of Chaos, Lord Abaddon and his daemonic horde versus Lord Rathius and his chaos titans.
First, the armies....
Chris' Forces of Chaos under the command of Lord Rathius:
Lord Rathius (custom character using 3rd edition Chaos Space Marines rules)
3x Chaos Sorcerers - Terminator Armor, Gift of Chaos
8x Terminator Champions - Mark of Khorne, All Combi-plasmas, Chainfists & Power Fists
5x Nurgle Daemon Princes w/Wings
3x2 Obliterators
Lord Scabieathrax
Chaos Reaver Battle Titan "Asmodeus" - 2x Laser Blasters, Plasma Blastgun
Slaanesh Subjugator
3x Chaos Blaneblades - 4x Sponsoons each
Stormlord - 4x Sponsoons
Chaos Reaver Battle Titan "Baalzebub" - 2x Laser Blasters, Plasma Blastgun
2x Greater Brass Scorpions of Khorne
Rathius' Chaos Legion.
BTW, you don't see any troops because they are not necessary. The mission is to just kill each other. Bring your tanks and your greater daemons and leave the small guys behind. I was expecting to see a Reaver Titan here....but not 2!
Coming up next....Jy2's Daemonic forces led by Lord Abaddon.

By the ways, for those interested in Apocalypse 40K, here are some of my other Apoc battle reports:
9K Tyranids vs Witch Hunters
10K Apocalypse - Blood Angels vs Witch Hunters/Imperial Guards
Apocalypse: Eldar + Sisters of Battle + Tau vs. Tyranids - 12000 points (6K each side)
-----------------------------------------------------
Now here's my army....
Jim's (Jy2's) Daemonic Force under the command of Lord Abaddon:
First of all, the forces of Khorne:
On top of the hill (from left to right):
Skarbrand
Trigun (Custom Bloodthirster character, see below)
Uraka (from Imperial Armour Apocalypse 2)
Lord An'ggrath
Then I've also got:
Skulltaker on Juggernaut
3x Bloodthirsters - Instrument, Unholy Might
7x Bloodcrushers - Fury, Icon, Instrument
8x Bloodcrushers - Fury, Icon, Instrument
-----------------------------------------------------
Trigun . . . . . 430pts
Trigun is one big, mean and nasty bloodthirster. He was one of the original bodyguards of Angron. So ferocious was Trigun that it took nearly 2 full units of paladins to finally take him down at the Battle of Armageddon. His wrath is never-ending and his havoc is such that he is on the verge of becoming a Daemonlord. But after nearly 10,000 years of banishment, Trigun is finally back and thirsting for revenge upon those who defeated his previous master.
WS10, BS0, S8, T7, W5, I5, A6, Ld10, 2+/4++
Unit Type: Monstrous Creature
Number/squad: Unique
Daemonic Gifts: Daemonic Flight
Special Rules:
Battlelust of Khorne (+15pts)
Bloodthirster (+250pts)
Blessings of the Blood God (+5pts)
Brass Armor of Khorne (+40pts)
Daemon
Daemonic Essence (+1W, +30pts)
Daemonic Mutation (+1A, +30pts)
Daemonic Resilience (+1T, +20pts)
Ferocious Charge (+20pts)
Furious Charge
Unholy Might (+20pts)
Battlelust of Khorne: Trigun's bloodlust is so savage that he inspires all those nearby into a frenzy of blood.
All units within 6" of Trigun, both friends and foe and including Trigun himself, re-roll's all misses in assault.
Brass Armor of Khorne: This armor is a gift from the Blood God himself to a very few of his chosen.
This armor provides a 2+ armor save.
Ferocious Charge: Trigun's wrath is unrelenting. Woe to he who gets in his way.
Trigun gets +2A on the charge instead of the normal +1A.
-----------------------------------------------------
Note: this photo was taken a few days before the battle. I've since changed my list slightly, dropping 2 lash Princes.
The forces of Slaanesh:
Lord Zaraknyel
Masque
3x Keeper of Secrets - Instrument, Soporific Musk, Transfixing Gaze, Unholy Might
3x CSM Daemon Princes - Lash of Submission, Mark of Slaanesh, Wings
9x 1-man units of Fiends of Slaanesh w/Unholy Might
-----------------------------------------------------
Note: this photo was taken a few days before the battle. I've since changed my list slightly, dropping my Lord of Change.
The forces of Tzeentch:
Lord Aetaos
Kairos Fateweaver
5x CSM Daemon Princes - Gift of Chaos, Mark of Tzeentch, Warptime, Wings
-----------------------------------------------------
Finally, the rest of the army:
Note: this photo was taken a few days before the battle. I've since changed my list slightly, dropping 2 obliterators and adding another Soulgrinder and 2 5-man units of CSM in rhinos.
Lord Abaddon
2x5 Chaos Space Marines - Icon of Chaos Glory, Rhino
4x2 Obliterators
Corrupted Land Raider Achilles
Hellblade (from Imperial Armour Apocalypse I)
3x Soulgrinders
-----------------------------------------------------
Here is my army in all its unholy glory (updated photo). I actually forgot to bring 1 rhino.
Coming up next....the battle for Chaos supremacy....

Oh my onholy god, this is gonna be one huge smackdown. Very fluffy too for chaos to be taking it out on each other, lots of feuds to settle and blood to be taken after all.
Cant wait to see the batrep. The super heavy force has got one hell of a shooting barrage, but the daemons sure has the CC to counter it i think!

Mission:
We played a modified Kill Point mission:
1. Each regular unit = 1KP.
2. Super-heavies = 1KP per Structure Point. For example, each baneblade = 3KP and the Reaver battle titan = 6KP.
3. Gargantuan creatures = 1KP per 2 Wounds. Zaraknyel = 3KP, Aetaos & An'ggrath = 4KP each and Scabieathrax = 5KP.
4. 5 VIP units chosen by each player. Each VIP unit = bonus +5 KP.
Chris' VIP units:
Rathius
2x Chaos Sorcerers
Terminator unit
Scabieathrax
My VIP units:
In the back, from left to right:
Abaddon
Zarakynel
Trigun
An'ggrath
Aetaos
5. +10KP to the army with the most units claiming the center objective (has to be within 6" of the center terrain).
6. +10KP if either generals (Lord Abaddon or Lord Rathius) survives to claim the center objective.
So while I have the advantage on the objectives part, I also have the kill point disadvantage with a lot more kill points than Chris.
-----------------------------------------------------
Deployment:
Initiative: Jy2's Chaos Daemons
Map of terrain:
We used 3 full tables. The objective is the piece of terrain right in the center of the map.
For deployment purposes, we did things a little differently. We each took turns deploying 1 unit at a time, just like in Fantasy. Chris won the turn to go first but gave it to me.
Chris' deployment. Scabbie and his Nurgle princes will be deepstriking in from reserves.
My deployment. Those are CSM Tzeentch daemon princes. The CSM's are actually in a rhino (which I forgot to bring).
Lash DP's deploy and hide in/behind the ruins.
Obliterators deploy on different levels of the ruins to minimize the impact of blasts.
My Preferred Wave:
Aetaos
An'ggrath
Zaraknyel
Fateweaver
Trigun
Uraka
3x Bloodthirsters
3x Keeper of Secrets
1x Bloodcrushers w/Skulltaker
1x Soulgrinder
My Secondary Wave:
Masque
Skarbrand
1x Bloodcrushers
9x Fiends
2x Soulgrinders
Obviously I want my Preferred wave to come in. I roll to see which half of my daemonic army comes in and get a '2'. It's the secondary wave that's going to start off.
-----------------------------------------------------
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Chaoszilla 1
So I get my weak half in.
I drop 2 soulgrinders near his reaver titan.
Bloodcrushers and single-unit fiends come off of Abaddon's personal icon in the land raider achilles.
Skarbrand, Masque and 2 more fiends deepstrike within icon range of the CSM's in rhino.
Abaddon disembarks from the land raider and joins the bloodcrushers. Crushers then spread out by running.
Chaoszilla's movement. Daemon princes advance. Units that had just deepstruck run.
My shooting does absolutely nothing.
I then assault his Slaanesh Subjugator with my Slaanesh DP's. 1 Tzeentch DP assaults his Greater Brass Scorpion.
DP's tear apart his Slaanesh walker.
Chaoszilla: 3 Chaos Titans: 0
My Tzeentch DP knocks off 1 structure point from his scorpion. In turn, he does 2W to my DP.
Chaoszilla: 4, Chaos Titans: 0
Chaos Titans 1
Scabieathrax comes in off of Rathius' icon.
Scorpions move and get ready to flame my DP's.
His Reaver drops a laser blaster on each of my soulgrinders, exploding both.
Chaoszilla: 4, Chaos Titans: 2
Baneblade wipes out 1 Tzeentch DP.
Chaoszilla: 4, Chaos Titans: 3
Combined baneblade shooting wipes out most of my bloodcrushers and put 2W on Abaddon.
He then focuses both scorpions and 1 reaver on my DP's, killing the Tzeentch DP, putting 3W on a Slaanesh DP, 2W on Skarbrand and 1W on a fiend.
Chaoszilla: 4, Chaos Titans: 4
More baneblade shooting takes out 1 more Tzeentch DP and puts 1W on another.
Chaoszilla: 4, Chaos Titans: 5
Finally, his Stormlord focuses on Abaddon's unit. 30 S6 AP3 shots and 6 lascannons (from oblits inside the stormlord) later, the bloodcrushers are gone and my 1st VIP unit is dead. He gets a bonus +5KP for taking out Abaddon.
Now I also can't claim the +10KP bonus for having my general claim the middle.
Chaoszilla: 4, Chaos Titans: 12
Now onto assault. 1 scorpion charges a DP. The other one charges Skarbrand.
Skarbrand kills his scorpion dead. Unfortunately for him, it doesn't explode
Chaoszilla: 6, Chaos Titans: 12
But his other scorpion kills the the Slaanesh DP.
Chaoszilla: 6, Chaos Titans: 13
Coming up next....Turn 2.

Chaoszilla 2
Overview of the top of Turn 2.
My hellblade drops in behind his guys.
Now for the heavy artillery. He thought my daemons were wimpy? He hasn't seen anything yet. Here comes the big boys. Aetaos drops in where the soulgrinders used to be last turn.
An'ggrath, Zaraknyel, Fateweaver and 2 bloodthirsters come off the CSM's icon in the rhino.
My other bloodthirster comes in off the icon in my invisible rhino.
The rest of my forces advance.
New boys run.
Unlike last turn, my shooting this turn actually proved quite effective....considering how little shooting I have.
Hellblade shoots 4 twin-linked autocannon shots into the rear of one of the baneblades and takes out its main gun as well as cause 1 structure point of damage. Land raider achilles fire 2 twin-linked multi-meltas and takes off another 1 structure point from the baneblade. Oblits then focus on the stormlord (in the middle), destroying its main gun, shaking 1 lascannon and peeling off 2 structure points.
Chaoszilla: 10, Chaos Titans: 13
My Tzeentch DP then charges his healthy baneblade....
....and only manage to shake 2 lascannons.
Other Tzeentch DP charges his other baneblade, knocking off 2 structure points and also shaking 2 lascannons.
Chaoszilla: 12, Chaos Titans: 13
Skarbrand assaults his Greater Brass Scorpion. I destroy all its guns, immobilize it and also do 1 structure point of damage, but the darn thing still lives! He does 1W back to Skarbrand.
Chaoszilla: 13, Chaos Titans: 13
Chaos Titans 2
Overview of the bottom of Turn 2.
3 Nurge princes drop in.
The monstrous Scabieathrax heads towards Aetaos.
Despite 2 shaken lascannons, his baneblade still manages to take off 3W from my Tzeentch DP.
His other tanks take out 2 fiends, put 1W on a 3rd and then 2W on my bloodthirster.
Chaoszilla: 13, Chaos Titans: 15
Heavy bolters put more wounds on fiends.
Finally, he focuses both Reavers on Fateweaver and An'ggrath. After 12 Destroyer blasts and 4 7" plasma blastgun blasts, An'ggrath suffers just a small wound (2W), Zaraknyel just a slight scratch (1W) and Fateweaver....his feathers weren't even ruffled!
Chaoszilla: 13, Chaos Titans: 16
No assault. Scabbie is just out of assault range of Aetaos and his scorpion is immobilised. It does repair 1 gun though.
Turn 3 coming up.....

Chaoszilla 3
Finally, the rest of my reserves come in. Trigun and a Keeper of Secrets come in using An'ggrath to land safely (the 3 Daemonlords each is an icon as well).
Bloodcrushers with Skulltaker land near Aetaos, who guides them down safely.
Finally, my other 2 KoS's land via the icon on the CSM unit (who are in an invisible rhino).
Monsters surge forwards. Doom is impending. Hellblade goes after the Greater Brass Scorpion.
The rest of my forces advance.
Aetaos flies 20" towards Reaver Baalzebub, jumping over the Nurgle princes. Crushers spread out.
Hellblade fires at the scorpion, taking off another 1 structure point and once again destroying the gun that the scorpion had just repaired last turn.
Chaoszilla: 14, Chaos Titans: 16
Land Raider Achilles fires both TL-multi-meltas at the Stormlord and wrecks it (we removed all wrecked vehicles as well as the exploded ones).
Chaoszilla: 15, Chaos Titans: 16
Aetaos boons one of the Nurgle princes and turns him into a spawn! He also puts 1W on another Nurgle prince.
Obliterator shooting didn't do much. Now onto assault!
Bloodthirster assaults a baneblade.
Zaraknyel and both Slaanesh DP's charge another baneblade (the only one they could reach).
Although I didn't need to, Skarbrand charges the immobilized, gunless scorpion just for the sheer thrill of reducing it into scrap metal.
He gets a little too carried away and causes a Catastrophic Explosion! It's a good thing though that daemons don't care about S9 AP2 hits. It's just another lascannon shot to them.
Chaoszilla: 16, Chaos Titans: 16
The 3 slaanesh daemons also blow up the other baneblade. This time, though, the explosion also kills the Tzeentch DP who was down to his last wound anyways.
Chaoszilla: 17, Chaos Titans: 17
The bloodthirster pops the 3rd super-heavy tank.
Chaoszilla: 18, Chaos Titans: 17
My last Tzeentch DP tears off the main gun and shakes a lascannon from the last baneblade.
Finally, the clash of the Titans. Aetaos assaults Reaver Titan, Baalzebub, but fails to do any significant damage due to poor rolling.
An'ggrath takes on the Reaver titan, Asmodeus. Despite 10 attacks (he rolled 2 6's to hit) and many pens, An'ggrath only manages to take off 1 structure point as well as tear off both laser blasters from the titan.
Chaoszilla: 19, Chaos Titans: 17
Chaos Titans 3
Overview of the bottom of Turn 3. My opponent is in trouble. Both of his titans are locked in combat and he doesn't have much left.
Scabbie goes to help out Baalzebub.
Chris' Chaos Sorcerors split off from Rathius' unit to go after my KoS. Rathius goes after the wounded Bloodthirster.
Chris gets revenge. His sorcerers use Gift of Chaos to turn my KoS into a spawn!
Chaoszilla: 19, Chaos Titans: 18
Shooting from his last baneblade takes out my last Tzeentch DP and puts 3W on Uraka!
Chaoszilla: 19, Chaos Titans: 19
Oblits multi-melta my last soulgrinder and cut him in 2.
Chaoszilla: 19, Chaos Titans: 20
He finally manages to take off 1W from Fateweaver with obliterator twin-linked plasmas.
Onto assault. Scabbie assaults Aetaos. His 2 Nurgle DP's assault Skulltaker's unit.
He kills off 3 crushers, and I put 2W on 1 DP and 1W on the other.
Scabbie puts 2W on Aetaos. Aetaos fails to take a structure point off Baalzebub, though I believe I may have destroyed one of his laser blasters.
Chaoszilla: 19, Chaos Titans: 21
And finally, Rathius' unit multi-charges both my Bloodthirster and land raider. Here I make a mistake. I forget to move my land raider last turn and he has 4 chainfist aspiring terminator champions attacking it.
My Bloodthirster puts 2W on Rathius (he is an Eternal Warrior). His unit, in return, kills the thirster with a whole bunch of power fist attacks and wrecks the land raider with a whole bunch of chainfists.
Chaoszilla: 19, Chaos Titans: 23
Finally, An'ggrath continues to rage, tearing off 3 more structure points from Asmodeus and immobilizing him. Asmodeus does manage to put 1W on An'ggrath.
Chaoszilla: 22, Chaos Titans: 23
Chaoszilla 4
The beginning of the end. I go after his sorcerers. 2 of them are VIP units.
My Slaanesh DP lashes Rathius' unit close together and out of area terrain. My oblits then start dropping plasma-bombs on them, killing half the unit.
I launch an all-out assault, making sure to keep Kairos in the middle of the action. My Slaanesh daemonlord and prince assault his 2 Nurgle princes.
Zaraknyel slays his DP with ease, cleaving him like a hot knife through butter.
Chaoszilla: 23, Chaos Titans: 23
Crushers kill 1 Nurgle DP, and he put a couple of wounds on my crushers.
Chaoszilla: 24, Chaos Titans: 23
Uraka and another KoS assault his 2 sorcerers.
They don't stand a chance. I will claim at least one of those sorcerers as a VIP unit.
Chaoszilla: 31, Chaos Titans: 23
Trigun, KoS and a Bloodthirster goes in for the kill on Rathius' unit.
They slaughter the entire unit, claiming 2 VIP units in the process as well as +10KP's.
Chaoszilla: 43, Chaos Titans: 23
In the battle of the titans, Scabbie fails to hurt Aetaos this time. However, Baalzebub manages to successfully inflict 1W on him. Unfortunately for him, Aetaos does 2 structure points of damage back.
Chaoszilla: 45, Chaos Titans: 23
Finally, after 3 assault phases, An'ggrath finally puts down Asmodeus for good. We were hoping for an Nuclear Apocalyptic Explosion but alas, it didn't happen.
Chaoszilla: 47, Chaos Titans: 23
-----------------------------------------------------
At this point, I am so far ahead and Chris doesn't have much left so we decided to call it.
I'v also got much more units claiming the center objective so get the bonus +10KP's.
Chaoszilla: 57, Chaos Titans: 23
Victory to the Daemonic Forces of Abaddon, the One True Tyrant!!!
The dead pile....

Good battle report, jy2. For a while, you and your opponent were toe to toe in kill points. Gargantuan daemon lords are super effective against vehicles and walkers. Had you used Tetrahedron of Darkness formation, this game would have been definitely one-sided.

I was surprised he did not run the SG formation (Master of the Forge one) which lets SG charge the turn they DS.

Jy2's Top 5 Killers
5. Land Raider Achilles
Took off 1 structure point from a baneblade. Killed the stormlord with its multi-meltas. If only the LRA had survived, I might have ranked it 1 spot higher.
4. Bloodthirster
Finished off 1 baneblade. Helped to wipe out Rathius' unit. Survived.
3. An'ggrath
'Nuff said.
2. Hellblade
Now you're probably wondering why I'm ranking this little guy ahead of someone's who killed a reaver titan. The hellblade didn't even kill a single unit! The simple answer is that he just over-performed. For a unit with only 2 twin-linked S7 guns, he took out 2 structure points of super-heavies and blew out 2 primary weapons. That translates to well over 400+ pts of damage that this little 130pt unit did. Both Chris and I under-estimated how effective this flyer could be. Positioned anywhere on the table for rear-armor shots makes it quite an over-achiever. I think I need to get more flyers for my future apoc battles.
1. Skarbrand
This guy is a one-man wrecking crew. He took out 2 Greater Brass Scorpions! That's 1,100pts of superheavies sent to the scrapyard by this 300-lb monster. But that's not the sole reason why he's the top killer here. His buffs allowed the other daemons to be better killing machines. If he wasn't there, those daemons would have taken longer to do what they did. Just An'ggrath alone had about 7-8 re-roll's in combat against the Reaver thanks to Skarbrand. For the 2nd straight large daemon game in a row, he was the top performer and deservedly, the MVP of the game.

The Tetragon of Darkness would've made them too strong. I would probably only use this formation in a competitive apoc game. This was only a friendly, bring-all-your-big-guys type of game. And since he didn't take the 10" Vortex gun, I decided not to bring any formations. That was also due to me wanting to bring quantity of daemons (in order words, most of my models).

Thought about it, but decided to go for more daemons instead over the formations.
