The Gorehound is looking great. I like the turbolaser, and I see you have been fiddling with the saw as well. Excellent!
One thing it might benefit from are some shouder armour plates of some description. Also, some spikes on the top could help.
After all, there is NO SUCH THING as too many spikes.

Hey, Biohazard! I'm glad you could find those volcano cannons, they make for a convincing turbolaser
Adding the weapon arms does raise a new concern: the Gorehound looks a bit thin in the shoulders with the turbolaser tucked up there. What about building the shoulders out a bit, like on the bloodstalker? On the other hand, you don't notice it so much on the CCW arm, so maybe another solution is to lengthen the upper arm section for the turbolaser.
Keep up the great work!

Thanks buddy,
Some of you may remember my Venerable Dread for the Star Phantoms 'Valerius the Elder'
Well.................I got bored with him and left him on the shelf for a long time so Ive decided to make another WE Dread.
Meet the early work in progress of 'Voorhees the Relentless'
His legs will be reposed into a mirror of 'Krueger' and Ive still to decide on a weapon for him, he will be my Dakka dread. Im thinking of making another heavy bolter arm like I had on the early works of Krueger and maybe a multi melta as well. The symbol on his shoulder is a very quick rough attempt at the WE badge. Im going to have another crack at that when Im less tired.
As always any feedback is appreciated.
Oh I should mention Squad Krixus is paint in progress, nothing much to show yet though. Automatically Appended Next Post: A quick pic in better light with the skull faceplate.

Looks good! For his weapons, how about a Twin Linked Autocannon? I don't know what other options Chaos Dreadnoughts have in this edition beyond the normal weapons, so if there are any others do tell me.

Aha, cosmic order has been re-established, then
He's looking good, buddy! I especially love what you've done with the resin skulls! Personally, I'd probably go for the other head (not the skull mask) in order to make him more of an individual and less of a complete twin to Krueger. Plus the other mask would also work rather nicely with the Voorhees name Maybe you could even add some haphazard blood spatters across the mask...
As for the weapons, I can only recommend starting with the different weapon options that come with the Venerable Dread and moving on from there. In my opinion, you should make full use of the flexibility that the kit offers and keep the weapons exchangeable instead of committing to a single equipment choice. The Plasma Cannon and Lascannon work great with some extra bitz, while a Heavy Bolter, Autocannon (more range than a Multimelta, and quite enough oomph to punch through those pesky Dark Eldar vehicles' armour, btw ) or even additional CC weapon should be easy enough to convert. See my own Dread for reference, perhaps. Actually, I am feeling kind of guilty, since your original Heavy Bolter is now part of my collection...
Anyway, great work, as always!

Thanks buddy, thing is I really like the other mask on my 2nd Helbrute and only have one of each lol. If i do use the visor mask ill have to work on it a little as its a little long and in my opinion throws the proportions of the torso out a little. I have bits to make another heavy bolter don't worry about that.
The lascannons have likewise been used on the 2nd Helbrute. I have some Devastator las cannons that I could probably botch together to look pretty good. I have ideas to make a Multi melts as well.

I would use the different mask on the second Dreadnought, the non-skull one. It sets him apart a bit.

I'd have said you should keep the mask a non skull plate. It looks easier to make into a certain hockey mask esque look, which would fit his name very nicely. A machete wouldn't go amiss either!

Wow, thanks Meade.
I have to admit I didnt expect such a positive reaction to the spwan for what is essentially a very simple conversion.
Thanks though everyone whos commented. Im snowed with work this week so wont get any paint on them yet. Stil need to decide on a colourscheme for them anyway.

Simple conversion but effective, still a awesome addition to an army. The gorehound robots are more impressive, guess i just got to the thread a bit late

Well it's pretty much sold me on grabbing those models to do a conversion to some kind of dark mechanicus experimental mutants. That along with the rat ogres from Isle of Blood. Which I would also use as spawn.

Funny you should mention the IoB rat ogres. I've been looking at some of those to boost this to a unit of 4. I think with a simple head swap they could fit in perfectly.

Yeah just cut off the head, and maybe the tails. maybe a third arm or something to make them a bit more chaos, if you like that flavor. In fact they are a lot cheaper than getting those warshrine figs atm... nothing on ebay I could find aside from getting the actual model... 50 bucks no thanks. I'd rather pay 10 bucks for 2 rat ogres .

Yeah I bought the full kit and although there are a few nice bits in the kit I was a little underwhelmed. I had thought the braziers on the back had interchangeable icons for each of the gods but they are all one piece with no way of changing the icons out. The plates with the daemon faces are nice though as is the totem.

Yeah. Seems like something that's good to get if you're going to be doing some chaos terrain such as a portal, I'm just going to wait until the bits sellers chop it up though. But I pressed the launch button on those rat ogres!

One thing I think would look cool is a gigantic but emaciated and hunched over spawn, carrying a huge cannon thing, a bit like the grenade launcher large mutants from Rage. Perhaps give them some armour made from wrecked vehicles?
