OK, here goes. So after some months laying idle on top of my closet and another few weeks in my paint box i finally decided it was time to put together my Skyshield pad. So i started gluing tie sides on and wen i came down to the the last peas i was one component short . After getting a firm no, from all places i could think of that sole bits parts. I took drastic measures thou a lot of over bending i manage to get one corner of, so out whit my sharp knife. After some delicate cutting i managed to get one peas of to glue on to the remaining side. And after an inspiration from another Dakka member woala an observation platform.

Step one, i needed to bridge the gap that appeared between the pad and the base of the platform, i used the sprouts from the model.

Step two, I had to make certain the bottom part had the same hight as the landing pad. Again Sprouts.

Step three, added my Imperial Valkyrie to make the images look good

Step four, second level. Started whit this one actually, the lover level came later. This one have a different roof then the finished version.

Step Five, Finished the second floor

Step six, I had planed a second level but decided it would look to goofy. So i started adding some railings and toped it of whit two search lights from fortress of redemption.

Step seven, Panting. Will start doing that some time after Christmas. for now signing off

Yell if i get this wrong pleas

That was an impressive solution you found and really turned an unfortunate situation into genuine inspiration! That is very well done and looks like it supposed to be that way. I also appreciate the fact that you didn't go too far with the tower, sometimes less is more and you have a great looking model so far. Subbed and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Wow. Looks like I'll be following this thread for the next 3 years at least. You are going to either be very busy, or be very surrounded by unfinished terrain.

The Bastions look very good and I like the color scheme you used throughout. You have some excellent stuff, and I am a bit jealous of a couple things. I would never use a Fortress of Redemption as a Fortress of Redemption, but if the panels are the same as all the other GW stuff I imagine they are plainly detailed on the reverse side so I could make a generic fortress.

I'm insane for wanting more stuff right now, I'm already buried with projects and like you I have a lot of unopened boxes. Some of it I picked up because it was really inexpensive, others I was given, and some I picked up simply because I wanted to get some extra pieces for whatever project I'm working on. I've got at least 9 different active projects right now, and I expect I'll finish up 5 or 6 of them before the winter is over.

Anyway, enough from me. Looking forward to seeing what you share next, good work so far!

While you're here take a look at my houses and other wooden made structures.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/495691.page

I currently have 3 projects standing still at the moment, against ummmm me not know on the 40k side, if i say 10 I'm not lying. Might be more, then there are my other models, 5 NASA 40 year Anniversary models from Revel & one submarine I'm opening the torpedo doors on also from revel, two M1A1 abrams I'm converting in to 1 humongous tank to 40k game, one German self propelled mortar launcher from WWII (Mörser Karl-Gerät). A hole heap of star trek ships. And not to mention my finished models that constantly needs repair every time i take them out from storage, among the largest is a shell oil rig.

You say that like it's something you could forget Bri.

But thanks for the reminder - yeah, welcome to Dakka Opannes.

The wooden terrain looked cool, I'll check that further later, too much to catch up with right now....

OK so i know its of topic but i figure i show what submarine I'm talking about its the 1/72 scale, i like to get big models wen ever i can. The problem is floor space, I don't have it right now. So thats why all my finished models get deported down to the basement. But for this one I'm actually gonna order a custom made showcase i can put on the wall.

OK on topic to day and a blip New Year every one.

So as promised i started the paint job a few days after Christmas.

First layer down all round, and as you can see i don't exactly use factory color, only use that for smaller arias. like wen i was panting the gold details on the churches crypt.

If I have one falling its that I'm to eager to put my things together, as in this case. I glued the the railings down completely and had to use a knife to separate the parts in order for me to sand a way some cabling and some electrical panels.

Finished of the ladder, I ended up sniping of the two top hand bars cause a square peg don't fit in a round hole. .

Here you can start to see how the painting will be. Arias not painted blueish will be white.

Some what finished wive of the finished product.

Hi and hello every one, sorry for my long absents from the forum. But around new year last year i got a sever allergy and the doctor told me to stay away from prolonged contact whit PVC, whit other words my models. So after having been a god little monkey for about 9 months i can now not wait any longer.

OK, so i was a god little monkey for a year. And as my first Re-dux model i made a bronze statue out of my Space marine soldier.

First thing I did was to apply force and removed the sword hand, shield and the main body from the boots. the rest I kept intact.

Second I painted everything whit the first black paint i found.

Next i started on the stone slab (bottom part), but i soon found it was the wrong color.

I then added watered down Shadow gray, I then added a lighter tone of shadow gray to the edges of the stone. After witch i finished it of whit ordinary white. All colors dry brushed whit a old brush that nowadays resembles a stippling brush.

For the statue I used some leftover Brazen Brass i added black to to make it in to Tin Bitz, then i added Hasnut Copper and last paint was a Panduro Sun gold. Bad on covering, but to get that small shine before i used the NEW oxide wash it was great. And there you have it folks, i will probably get another one as well.
