Thanks.

I managed to save a bit of time when I made the first prototype, as I made a second head with leftover GS. though the left eye is a bit screwed up it's more or less fitting the concept art nicely and will probably be the way I go with the rest. Of course they need more snooty ones with their noses pointing up. Other than the eye the heads are pretty much identical.

Also this one is a bit taller than the first, more fitting with the size of the Flamers themselves. The gem is also the ideal size now. They're also pretty easy to sculpt; just roll a small ball in your hands then elongate it slightly by rubbing it gently between your hands to make a little egg. Set aside to cure then carefully cut in half with a blade later. It's a bit hard to see in the front on pictures.

Which means for the others to be made afterwards they just need to be shorter than this new one and taller than the first one. By giving them a range like this instead of having them all the exact same height I can kind of make the units more dynamic without having to do much. As they are I have gaps to fill where the head connects to the body, which means I'll be learning how to use LGS shortly. Also I'm not sure yet, but they may get added jewellery, the gems themselves may be enough as is and draw more attention to them instead of having various trinkets instead.

I also filled the gaps a little for the first and swapped out the gem for one of the new ones.

definatly your cutest build so far... which kinda anoys me a bit^^... will it stay so smooth looking? or will you add scales or something like feathers or maybe even fur?....

the mandible "ear" on the second one is a cool idea!!!

They're going to be staying smooth. Letting the paint do most of the work again.

I like it being smooth I think it adds to the scary aspect of this model!

Well it's painted, but the camera seems to hate it. So many faults I missed without it.

I probably would have coiled it around more and made it longer. But it's pretty good, and sleek. Sleek is good

Thanks everyone!

Gems and lenses happen to be one of the things I like to paint a lot, up there with OSL. Eldar can be to blame as I think the one time I counted the vehicle had about 50-70 on it alone, which means you sort of have to get to like it. It helped at least.

Then randomly I completed another Horror.

Tried something new with this compared to the others. Instead of doing the usual highlighting stage after the wash I lightly drybrushed the entire model pink then washed it. Light enough that it let the colour underneath show through more or less clearly with only a minor tint to it. Other than that it was painted the same, even the shading.

totaly cool choice again to use the dryads!

All of them will be. Still nine of them to go for now.

I also might be adding in one of the new chariots. Just a maybe at the moment.

I like the model except for the chariot itself. Looks like it belongs on a farm more. A funny thing about the limited one though is that it is just two in the same box for the price of two. The normal one even mentioning it.
If you buy two of these boxes you will be able to make one Exalted Seeker Chariot of Slaanesh - an immense construct of four Daemonettes as well as four steeds, not to mention even more threshing blades. The instructions for making this kit are included within the box. Please add two of these boxes to your cart in order to make this model.

Could probably swap out the wheels or something, but I can just picture that but on the HE chariot as some do just looking better anyway.

It's just a more elegant design that fits better in my opinion. But, would need to think on that after all I'd be more or less paying twice the amount for each chariot if I did want to do that. Not a new kit bash I'd think, but still a good one.

now that is plain weird? that GW text is stuuupid...well there you are...

and i don´t like the chariot too... farmtool it is^^... but the daemonettes might work...

I like the chariot, but that's just me!
Of course, wheels are good, too...

and, Vik, GW text isn't stupid, the problem there is the guy WRITING it

Does lead you to wonder, which GW employee really wrote that?
And, were they fired, or has GW not realised

Wonder more why it was it'd be spread over two kits instead and the difference of it to the normal one. Got three dryads in progress at the moment, suppose I should show pictures but more or less they just have grey so far.

Sort of depressed in a way, last job out of the ones I had applied for finally came back as a rejection after an annoyingly long wait too. So back to thinking just what the hell I'll do, fun week leading up to birthday it seems...

IT, but sort of given that up a bit every job seemed to be the same; call center requiring you to have had the exact same job you're applying for for about 2-3 years already... And I'll be 23.

yep... i see where the 2-3 year job expierience is the main problem for you sonn to be 23 years old... it is a fething vicious circle... the industry is totally illminded when it comes to expieriences... they think one is expierienced when he spent years in a job... actually it is quite often that peeps that spend years and years in one company lack a certain vime and vingar that the ones fresh from training, collegue far more often have...

do you have any other options?

Sort of was the backup plan in a way... Nothing to do but keep trying and try not to let it get to me that much...

Finally finished painting those three, completing the first squad.

Finally painted up the first prototype Soulburner. Same issue with the neck the second has, but I like the shape of the head on this one more. For one the eyes came out right.
However I do like the tendril ears the second has more and will be sticking to that for further ones.

Then as a part of the SoB tutorial (I ran out of primer half way, need to finish it off by hand ) a short tutorial on gems which can be used on lenses and such. The size of the lens usually helping it out more as it's actually easier than on a larger surface like a window.

The arrow represents the direction light flows.

1. Start off with a black base. I usually prefer to leave these until right before the highlights as you can use it to clean up the edges, but you're also far enough along not to mess up the lens.

2. Depending on the colour you're going with you want to use a pretty dark shade of it. Here I used Dark Angels Green. More or less you're looking to tint the entire lens so allow the black to sort of show through still.

3. Next you're grabbing the colour which will be the darkest colour created by the light flowing through the gem/lens. In this case it is Snot Green. Along the edge opposite from the point the light hits you're looking to make a crescent. Somewhat covering that entire edge.

4. Grab the next colour up, Goblin Green in this case, then repeat the previous step; staying within the previous crescent. Each time you're looking to scale it down by about half or so.

5. Next colour up again, Scorpion Green in this case, then repeat the previous step. If this is the brightest colour you're looking to use for the lens, make it more or less a dot around the middle of the last crescent you did.

6. Finally add a really small dot of white in the middle of the dot from the previous step, then directly opposite where the light would hit.

At this point you can add a second dot in the same corner as the light source, but it is optional. Gloss varnish can also be applied to the gem or lens, however that is also entirely optional; I tend to save it just for gems. For lenses you're looking to do more or less the same technique, however you're looking to cover the entire bottom half of the lens in step 3. Then instead of long crescents you're looking to do shorter fat ones. When it comes to them on helmets it also helps to keep in mind the position of the helmet to the lens; if it has a ridge it may not put much light across it unless they're looking up.
