I think you hit the nail on the head there, he probably recycles it into drinking water, hey didn't we have this very same conversation last time I painted the space eunuch?

Anyway I'm all done with the techies. I chose to go with a simple cog design to finish off the RT era tech, simple to look at anyway, bloody pain to paint!

Haha perhaps..but how many times is too many for that convo really? Did you add orange to the red? It's a lovely shade. I can never get red that bright.

No Commissions left to paint now. I need a commission soon or I will starve! Honest. Perhaps it will help if I am less cagey about prices.

Roughly speaking I am charging minimum wage for my painting ATM. That's £6.31 an hour. As a rough guide it would take me 4 hours to do a normal sized character standard work so that's £25. Or I could probably knock up a 5 man squad of high tabletop standard in 10 hours so £63.10, if they were squats it would be quicker, say 6 hours (£38). I also charge for postage back to you, and an extra £2 per model for clean up and assembly (unless its a techmarine with 6 arms, then I will need to charge more). I am extremely perfectionist about prep so you can expect to get you moneys worth there. If I like your model I may even polish it with jewelers rouge for free.

I will accept payment by paypal in which case I will want half upfront (non-refundable) and the other half upon delivery. If you want to pay by cheque I will happily accept but I will need all the payment at once and will have to wait for it to cash before I post.

Finally I would just like to say that I will do my best to paint everything to the highest standard (roughly within the time agreed) and I think this is a real bargain. I'm keeping my prices low atm because I would much rather be doing this for minimum wage than shop work. At some point if my work proves popular I will increase prices so get em while they're hot!

Anyway enough business, back to the miniatures. I have been painting this storm trooper because he seemed lonely and I felt sorry for him.

I did find one more tech marine & will build one last servitor... to send. Not sure what I'm going to do with them all but at least they'll be painted dam*it!

Great job on the storm trooper weets. Maybe you should play around with some more IG models, just for your portfolio... any idiot can paint a space marine, but it takes a special touch to do a great job on an unarmored model.

That's good to know Casey'sLaw. Thanks for the replies everyone - and don't worry dysartes I promise not to polish any resin! Not good for the health I heard. And anyway they are usually perfectly smooth, or the ones you sent me were anyway.

I have a feeling I might paint something today as I have to wait around for the fire alarm inspector.

I notice you mentioned your sculpting on there too, does this mean there's plans to get your kiln operational again?

Good morning dakka! I've got a good feeling about today. I think I'm going to need a better airbrush and some more paint soon.

Anyway to start off the morning I spent some time getting a creamy base layer on these foaming at the mouth priests. I used to do this base layer fairly automatically with bulk washes and drybrushing, but these days I like to wet blend the white and apply the wash in layers to get it just where I want it.

You've reminded me that I want to do a 'counts as' Escher gang w/ those Reaper miniatures. Foxy Brown looks sassy and daring anyone to check out her .44 magnum

Nice start on those, looking forward to seeing how the finish up.

Tech Marine is my favorite recent work.

shasolenzabi I hadn't thought about it - all the 40k guns will be vastly out of scale. She previously had a shortened laspistol I made but its not ideal. Maybe I will sort out a random object for her to hold.

Hi skalk! That was her name yes. I'm still deciding what colour to do the flares.

Priest alert!

Briancj - buy more! NO I shall just keep repainting until all your base R belong 2 us. Actually it being xmass I might just get a couple more, we'll see. No one buys me models but someone might give me cash (fingers crossed, touch wood, drop hints to parents that I'm poor).

Thanks san76.

I thought it was probably time to assemble my junk for the junk pile contest. Some interesting bits here - the propeller type bit is a spinning top that came out of last years xmass cracker, theres some old rhino parts, a piece of a space crusade dread, random metal pipe bits, a defunct fuse and some broken toys. I'm thinking air vent/turbine with random machinery all rusted up and stuff. Obviously I need more junk.
