Thanks.

I wanted to do something different with this tank as it is to be for the HQ, rather than just waiting for the parts to arrive to make the squad I started on the Immolator.

The tank itself has a mural all over it depicting the even which lead to the change in both name and colour scheme for the order. May need to zoom in on the gallery page as I did scatter ships and such around, they're visible on the left side at the back showing a small battle. I think there's a drop pod in roughly the same place on the other side as well. Surprisingly the cloud effect was easier and lazier than just making it white and I just went with it from there.

Previously they were like this and named Ordo Divinus Lillium.

Most just guards for their garden shrine world of Lillium, though a small subsection was exclusively for deployment with the Hawk Shot Space Marine Chapter ( A trip even more backwards in time as they've been stripped and repainted 3 times now ).

Anyway reason I'm going with is the Chapter turned traitor and destroyed the shrine world. Had more written up but couldn't find it, but the colours themselves had meaning behind it.

Went for job interview today, did well and made it through this second stage of application so felt like painting something when I got home. Fortunately the GW side of the stuff I needed for the command unit arrived on Friday. Just need the Fiona to arrive and I'll have everything to make to unit. To stop me losing bits though I've decided to wait until the Fiona arrives to open the back packs and start fixing them up, all that's left at the moment are the three battle sisters set aside to form this unit and one grenade SoB. Which as some may know I don't really like, yet one of the three models for the command squad has to be one unless I want to go grab another blister; something I'll have to do later in order to finish the third squad now anyway as this command squad leaves them 3 short.

I decided to try something somewhat different yet again for the eyes. Painted the same way as the normal irisless ones except painted the black before I built up the skin tone with washes. Really just makes it easier to clean up, but the main difference was I added a watered down badab wash on them to shade them for once when I was doing the shading for the hat at the top of the forehead. Skin tone isn't much for this one as I kind of felt like giving it a slightly more sinister tone. Was also surprised with the sculpt, despite its age it is pretty good.

Congrats on the interview, and good luck. It's rough out there.

Very nice work on the hospitaller. She looks almost ghostly. Great work with the shadows and everything, too.

The immolator, to be honest, while mostly good, is kinda let down by the script. None of it is really straight, or squared with the lines of the immo itself. I do think though that that could be pretty easily fixed, and I think the whole vehicle would look a lot better for it.

Thanks.
I'll probably try to fix up the Immolator, not to sure of having the Order's name thrown around everywhere anyway.

Another thing I'm thinking of though is fixing up the superiors. They're all the standard from the 10 model box which is nice I guess, but none are WYSIWYG. Coupled with the fact that I no longer play exclusively in a GW a lot of possibilities open up. Specifically converting and having a sort of "hero" to lead each squad, like how Secondus is led by the Canoness model (surprisingly WYSIWYG due to the bolter ).

Currently I'm thinking of getting this.

Then converting it to run Secondus, bumping the Canoness model to the other squad.

I'm thinking remove the spear, perhaps bend the left arm in a little more, to make it hold a bolter. Hopefully one with a scope, will have to look through my bits to see if I have an ornate one or even a spare one. Would also get to use the large backpack from the churigeon set I got, minus the blades on the sides, painting the vials with OSL and with a few parts cut here and there and it may make a good SoB backpack actually. Canoness may even get to steal it and swap.
Then finally the usual sculpt the cloth.

Wow, that's a TON of fleur de lys...es. Sweet mini though. Which arm were you planning on sticking the bolter on, the outstretched one? And would you try to continue the theme of the cloth there on the rest you sculpt? That could end up being really, really cool.

Only issue is it may be hard for me to obtain it. FLGS only has one thing from Anima tactics and I'm waiting for the Fiona to come in before putting out another order, it's a nice place and don't want to be a hassle.

For the cloth it'd get the front tabbard thing and the sleeves. Checking the codex the Palatine no longer exists, but this could pretend to be it anyway I guess.

The bolter I was thinking on the retracted arm perhaps, with her sort of aiming down it and the outstretched arm brought back in a little to hold it. Maybe mix one up with some Empire rifles if I can find a decent one around for it to kind of emulate that fancy Inferno pistol. Though with the bulkiness I'm not too sure it will work. I have one RT marine with bolter though, their's being more sleeker than the current but I'd guess that'd be a last resort.

Maybe I could even look through the codex a little more and see if any of the options seem more appealing than having a bolter as I don't really think they benefit too much from being fitted for melee anymore. Especially for a mech army like this. First thing first though, I'd complete the command squad before I get too ahead of myself with these conversion ideas. But, having it here will help me remember where to go next.

So far I've managed to fit two of the SoB with the alternate backpacks. Been busy though so haven't taken pictures and will probably wait until they are painted before taking pictures. The reason for there being two at the moment is I am still considering getting more standard sisters so as to avoid the grenade face, but also as while I tend to like having more rank and file type armies with a few heroes thrown in, the idea of a relentless multimelta is tempting.

Just finished painting up the first of the sisters with the alternate backpack for the command squad.

Continued with the more realistic approach to eyes that I tried last time with the Hospitaller. Also tried a different approach to the white reflection dot at the top of the lens. Which was two dots rather than one, the first sort of smudged off a bit then the normal clear one.

I decided to go with a more veteran look for this one in the form of a missing left eye. Instead of painting it as I usually would for the awkward ones (so it just looks like a shaded eye and you can't really see the detail). For this I wanted to make it look closed instead.

Was giving the Dialogus idea a thought as well as trying to figure out what to use since the Anima tactics model is a bit out of reach at the moment. Then noticed that the actual Dialogus isn't armoured.

Which means I could use the Fiona that will arrive in about a week as the sister superior for one of the squads. Giving me a reason to get this instead to be the Dialogus.

The conversion is still going to be basically the same. However I can use a knife and easily turn that white ribbon on the pole into a cable.

The Fiona would then have the spear traded in for a bolter.

The arm would also be lowered to have the bolter level with the direction she is looking. Of course everything else already planned for that conversion will remain the same.

Sort of like this a little.

Edit: looking through bits the only bolters I have are a techmarine one, a combi-plasma and some scout ones. I also have a 2nd ed hand flamer I guess I could convert the combi-plasma over to a combi-flamer or even melta.

I like the cypher backpack. They're a bit expensive to come by, but I think they add a little touch that makes everything cool.

Really great work on here! I never knew it existed until you posted on the YKTSFW thread! thought the picture in your thread was just a picture

Very nice, and a great idea about the conversions. Maybe a team of two squats with a gigantic vox radio hoisted on a pole would be cool, too.

I love SOB and have always wanted to make at least one squad. Yours are great! I know some other people said this but it struck me right away as well that the eyes have a kind of anime character to them. Expresses well.
The mods and color schemes are great choices. Exalted

Thank you, hopefully that model finally arrives soon so I can continue this.

Then I guess one of the jobs I've applied for to go through so I can keep it going.

I hear you on that, it's rough out there at the moment. Going after the same thing myself, best of luck.

Are those tainted by slaanesh or is it just the paint job?

TOO MUCH CHAOS!!!

Thanks.

Just normal SoB here, no crazy chaos taint. Sorry I haven't updated this in a while, that few week wait for the model got me working on some Daemons and I sort of got caught up with them. I think for this though there's only four models left until I've finished everything and will continue to wait until the eventual new model release. There's this brick (the Exorcist), a half put together Immolator I got in the trade a while back which will become the third Exorcist, the Dialogus and the "Palatine" which is just going to be a fancier looking Celestian to add more flavour to the squad. I suppose then I'd get to work fleshing out the back ground for it all a little more then it'll probably stagnate for a while again...

There is still a lot of gaps to fill with this though, I had only recently finally gotten around to finishing putting it together. The doors have been left off for the plates I mentioned before; whenever it is I finally get them.

Awesome sisters work, its always nice to see them. The paint jobs are really nice, and the count as/conversions look like they are going to be quite awesome, can't wait to see those!

I will...never be a memory

Thanks Cloud.

For those wondering I will be continuing on these however I'm combining it into this other blog I have going.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/427645.page
Initially I was going with a few for different projects, but I'm thinking it would be better to combine them into the one thread.

Sorry for the brief inconvenience this may cause.
