Hello All!

I need some help making my list less competitive. Yes. you read that right.

I spend a lot of my free time thinking about my lists, creating ones I think will be fun and competitive. I play the game to enjoy myself and have fun with my friends, but part of my enjoyment comes in the form of list building. Now I'm having a game with a friend and I'm struggling with how to make it worse without making it less fun.

Any ideas much appreciated! without further ado:

Saint Celestine
Uriah Jacobus

4xMinistorum Priest each with power maul and bolt pistol

Repentia squad x7 plus mistress
-rhino

Battle Sister Squad x4 plus superior
-flamer
-heavy flamer
-immolator with TL heavy flamer

Battle Sister Squad x4 plus superior with combi-melta
-melta
-melta
-immolator with TL multi-melta

Battle Sister Squad x4 plus superior with combi-melta
-melta
-melta
-immolator with TL multi-melta

Dominions Squad x5 plus Superior
-Simulacrum
-4xmelta
-immolator with TL multi-melta

Seraphim Squad x5 with superior with plasma pistol
-2xhandflamers

Seraphim Squad x5 with superior with plasma pistol
-2xhandflamers

Exorcist
-storm bolter

Exorcist
-storm bolter

Penitent Engine Squad x3

ps. I know that this isn't the MOST competitive list I could take and I certainly don't win EVERY game, but I am told I sometimes bring lists that are too powerful, and it makes it less fun if I know the other person isn't enjoying themselves because of my list.

Sounds like that would look pretty all on a table.

The only thing I would suggest that would make the army more "all-comers" and less competitive would just be to de-specialize the wargear the sister squads. Other than that, there's no real spam in there. Maybe take out one of the special IC's?

A few things I'd suggest:

If you're open to FW, the Avenger Strike Fighter is awesome, take it stock and watch it shred units

If you're open to allies, take a unit of assault termies in a LR with one of your priest (or 2) and you now have your very own uber deathstar (2+/3++ rerollable, reroll to hit, reroll to wound etc...)

Assassins would complement your list well too.

Otherwise as is your list is pretty solid, not GT winning by any means but has some tricks up its sleeves.

thankyou TheNightWillEnd. Yeah it will look pretty one day when I finally finish painting it haha.

de-specializing is a good idea, I think I will do that.

Phoenix I get the impression from your post that you didn't read mine lol. Thanks anyway for your reply

Are there models in your collection that you like, but never use? Now is the time. You probably have a cannoness on the shelf, field her with a command squad instead of one or both of the SCs.

Going for more TAC load rather then specializing should help. You could also sink points into questionable wargear and upgrades. Dozer blades and extra armor all around! Actually, with that many rhino chassis, giving them all HK missiles and extra stormbolters would represent a significant amount of firepower. Dispersed throughout your army, but a lot of dakka.

Want less powerful but not less fun? Replace both Exorcists with Penitent Engine squadrons and run screaming at the enemy. Glorious martyrdom!

Well, if you check out Sister Sydney's homebrew/expansion rules, you'll find all kinds of units the Sisters could have, that fit with the theme of the Sisters (as a tabletop army) perfectly well, and are damn-near-perfectly balanced.

I’m updating that fandex now & I’m eager for feedback on new home-brew units for the Sisters: Sororitas Bikers, infiltrators & Novices, tanks, flyers, characters, superheavies, Frateris Militia, and now Confessors and Battle Conclave characters

He’s already got a squad of 3. Putting 9 on the field might actually make them viable. Say what you want about the things, but once they actually connect, they cause a massive amount of burny, choppy death.

True. I don't think he has the points for 9, though. And so much depends upon a red wheelbarrow, I mean upon whether the enemy list has a lot of long-ranged anti-light-tank firepower or not.

Honestly, this list would be fun to play against. Space wolves and Guard player here, I'd die in masse, but that's what drop armies and guardsmen do. Honestly, your local crowd sounds whiney and weak on their own if they call this list "broken", I'd love to take a Psyker drop list against it. 9 pods 11 Warp charges and a bunch of guard and wolf bodies.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
As a note, drop a whole squad in rhinos, basic SB, for more repentia. Then add green stuffed mini skirts and put the cannoness in a habit with a ruler for a power weapon.

ah excellent! thankyou, of course I should take a canoness haha I can't believe it didn't even cross my mind!

I actually did have this game, and it was a lot of fun, my friend played eldar, and without having a way to combat his psykers we were very evenly matched.

My penitent engines did very little but as usual were very fun. I don't actually own more than 3 (why would anyone? hehe) but yes - 9 stalking down the field would actually be pretty threatening to the enemy in turn 1 (having only 2 left by turn 2 would be less exciting though )

gatebuster my group isn't whiney, they have never complained, but I win a lot more than I lose and I know that's probably because I'm making my lists too focused. I was finding it hard to think outside the box on this one so I appreciate all the replies.
