Oh good. We're at the "dictionary definition" point of the pointless argument.

So are we only getting the Khorne thing and the Necron things? If so, seems like a huge missed opportunity....

Anyone got any word on that?

Toys are a lot cheaper, and GW isn't in the toy business either.

Not sure what version of English you speak buuuuut models and miniatures are toys. You play with toys, it is okay.

I have no issue admitting to playing with toys or not, but I don't categorize these things as toys. Again, it will depend on how broadly or narrowly you define toy, or if you want to use it as slang for 'anything you like*' or as a pejorative to try and insult someones maturity level.

*Someone calling a truck, or boat, a 'big boy toy' still wouldn't classify it as a toy, for example.

Those things can be called toys yes. An if you see them as a toy they would be I suppose. Scale has not much to do with it.

Toy: Something you can play a game with or just play with.
Warhammer 40k: A game.
Warhammer 40k miniatures: Toys used to play a game with.

If you don't like playing the game. Then I suppose they would be just toys you collect. But calling 40k a collection seems to be a big no no right now....despite people collecting 40k miniatures.

Simply ask an impartial observer what they think. Odds are they will call them toys. With out all the emotional attachment placed on them. They are simply toys.

Really, can't anybody see that the 2 necron monoliths are the same model, opned and closed?

I'm still pretty positive that if that Tyranid Dominatrix rumour was ever going to pan out, this is the release for it.

Oh god, why can't I stop laughing?

I love this thing, there's plenty of room for gleeful silliness in 40k alongside the relentless grimdark. I do wish it was less Khorne-specific as my Word Bearers have little use for this, but it's a nice homage to the Lord of Battle. The Monoliths are nice too. Here's hoping for a plastic Knight Titan.

Looks like this flying monolith thing opens to reveal the doodads inside. The green one seems to be closed, while the white and blue one is open. I wonder how have GW managed to engineer such a miniature without it falling apart on every game.

As for the Lord of Battles, I'd like it more if it wasn't for the mime face, really.

On moon miranda.

That Khornate tank thing looks...like something out of WoW. When I see that, I don't think "massive slaughter engine of the dark gods" I think "silly goblin contraption".

The monoliths look interesting, a new take on a decade old model, but a bit more detailed than I'd care to bother painting, like most of the new Necron range

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

I think they'll do something like Dreadstone Blight and Witchfate Tor.

Same core of the kit, but with extra sprues added for the 'open' version. 2 different sets of rules, probably something like a 'sealed' and 'unsealed.' Title.

I too wonder how practical a 'transforming' model is - it would need to be very robust and well-balanced to handle the four outer hull corners swinging in and out. Perhaps instead this is one kit that can be assembled in two different ways, either as open and closed variants or two completely separate units?

Re the Khorneblower, it looks like amazing conversion potential but rather meh as is. A looted Ork version would be particularly amusing. As would a mega-Defiler/SoulGrinder, minus the tracks (which in turn would be a great basis for some other vehicle).

It looks like there are support pieces that are glued into place. All these pieces are hard plastic, too. This likely means the super monolith is either assembled open like on the left or closed like on the right but does not do both at the same time.

Yes, the more I look the more I see there's no way for all that pipework to fold in without using rubber or some other flexible material. That discards the "transforming kit" option.

@Kroothawk - Precisely, I recall that Gormiti toy from an old video (can't remember if it was Miniwargaming or BOW) in which they jokingly tried to pass it off as a new Necron superheavy

What the feth is that thing even supposed to be... a walker but with treads and a giant codpiece on the front? Also, a giant skull filled with skulls, could they be any more heavy handed about it? Perhaps what we can't see at the bottom of the picture is a giant Hoover there to suck up everyone's money since that thing will probably cost about $150.

haha! Thanks for this.

I like the top half of the Khorne thing a lot more than the blob of angry mashed potato waving a sword that is the Soulgrinder.

I think it's a pretty good execution of an idea that was pretty silly to start with, so it's okay in my book. :p

Wow...the amount of drivel and useless comments people can posts still amazes me...

This Lord of battle/Deathdealer kit is awesome, just not enough skulls, but its okay i guess...

Now i do hope that its not the only Chaos model for Apoc.

And poeple, for once, go make your own Super Heavy model, and we well see how it turn out...

60% of the poeple who posts that this kit looks stupid, doesn't do/paint better models in their armies, but thats my opinion, as it is yours that its looks stupid.

Kind of surprised they went with the Lord of Battle from epic. In the context of the old epic khorne range, the epic version Lord of Battle is pretty nice, it is just really out dated now.

I would have gone for the Nurgle Plague tower myself, or some vesion of that. Now if they had gone for the slaaneshi hell knights from epic people would just criticize them for "another walker" so I have to credit them for doing something a bit different.

I dont play apocalypse and dont plan to so my wallet will be spared from buying this
