I'm not sold on the pose but I did just have a bunch of other Pan O arrive today and I LOVE the closed jacket.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I do like how dramatic he looks compared to the Hac Tao in that last picture.

I don't like the model requiring a rock partially because I mostly do clear acrylic bases so my models can blend in anywhere and a given sculpt carrying around it's own tiny bit of terrain is kind of in direct opposition to that goal.

I guess the comment about something location independent like a bit of junk being more versatile than a rock makes sense... but I'd prefer them to be just standing on the base.

Not a huge issue, the model is still pretty darn cool.

Nice model, like the closed coat and the hacking visor, but the only situation I might possibly use a nisse hacker in is a link team (assuming that becomes an option). Even then I think I'd rather uss the paramedic for my specialist and use a hacker better suited for the job.

Very nice. Now we're only missing a combination rifle Nisse.

I don't get the hate for the 'tactical whatevers' on bases.
I'd rather have detritus than a rock, the former can at least make sense on any basing style.

The former can make sense on any basing style if done well. On the bases that they showcase these models on? Not so much!

Anyways, a Nisse would have made more sense with rocks. They're mountaineering troops.

Is there an actual need for a Nisse Hacker? I can't imagine someone would use that guy ever before the Svalarheima Sectorial comes out.

That was kind of my thought. Besides, there's always more casual games of Infinity where you just take the cool looking models, right? Isn't that a big thing with the game? Obviously for a competitive tournament you may not do it but still..

Well, he also works quite well as a regular combi Nisse. The sculpt looks really good, tactical junk aside. The closed jacket is a really nice touch.

Still no Govads though.

I suppose you could always sub out the helmet for something else? Bit of rock covered in snow etc. then use the helmet for something else

Problem is that the "tactical detritus" comes sculpted to the model. It requires A LOT of work to remove those.

Plus it's another Gecko Shoulder.

You know, the more I see that Hac Tao, the more I think his helmet looks like Garrus' head.

I can see cutting off the junk and raising the hacking arm a bit for a cool stealth crouching pose.

What? 30 seconds with a saw? No problem.

It's the sorting out the resulting non-existent footstool that takes all of my effort.

Have to agree you on the PanO Gecko hate, though!

Define "a lot". A modelling saw and one minute of time don't match my definition of a lot.

I'd generally agree, though more like 10 minutes, and then another 5 to find some Germolene and a plaster

Looks great, and I hope they keep the detritus for variety's sake.

If you really prefer a rock, and don't want to cut it off, add material to disguise the shape instead. Snow, rocks, cork, grass, green stuff... There's no shortage of options.

I'm pretty sure "cutting off the junk" will result in the fetal position, not crouching, but YMMV.

Yeah removing the part isn't hard... it's keeping the model looking good while somehow managing to get both feet on the ground.. or whatever.

I definitely like the Nisses pose better in terms of the hack-off. He looks like he's just gotten some info or swung around a corner and suddenly needed to hack so he's got the hand thrown forward with the rifle swinging back to the side. Very actiony. The Hac tao (or whatever) is a lot more relaxed, so maybe he's on the offensive from a time of his choosing, but I prefer the other guy's more action oriented pose.

I'm kind of seeing the Garrus thing, Barzam.

He's still a good specialist and he might prove his worth deployed in a linkteam of at least four members. I can't imagine him as the support hacking guy but with his pretty good offline capabilities he'll be pretty good in securing and denying objectives. A Nisse with Spitfire would be a nice addition too

Also, I like that Model, it has a nice dynamic pose and that tactical junk doesn't disturb the overall expression (mostly because it can be easy exchanged with a selfmade snow covered tactical rock ).
But did anyone of you notice that the Nisse's and Hac Tao's duel looks like a sorcerers' duel? Just picture them with wands

There is no need. Crockman, Swiss, Hexa. All of them would be a better choice.

Hexas and Crockmen are a good/better alternative, indeed. The Swissguard is too expensive to be better though...
I think "ever" should be more like "before the Svalarheima Sectorial comes out"

The thing with a swiss guard hacker - so with MULTI - is that that is actually a pretty damn scary thing to have come at you even without the hacking. That unit has won me quite a few games by just shooting the feth out of everything in sight without even bothering to hack anything - it's just 6|0.5 over what is a very, very scary thing-in-the-dark to begin with

Not to say Crocmen or hexas can't be a threat aside from their HD, but they're nothing like a Swiss Guard to the face.
