What are you using a prototype machine these days?
Those things are awesome, can spit out a working coo-coo clock I hear.
Not far away from ,"Computer ,Earl Grey with milk and honey"
I need 2 or 3 sets of that enforcer gear, and have been making excuses not to buy a few of the different torsos for a while - really incredible stuff lately, guys! Will be gutted if a set of those heads don't come out bare though - would be so much wasted opportunity for conversion...
Will definitely buy some of your enforcer gear! Might not be useful on the table top but a squad of Space Police with a hound would be sick. pistols, rifles, shotguns, a shock maul or two and a very angry looking officer with a power sword should do the trick
As a side note - our spinacsting machine returned from a toolmaker. He really pimped it up and removed some construction flaws. I couldn't resist doing a couple of test spins - our metal casts will improve for sure. The results I've got with this equipment so far are so much better with less hassle .
@lone dirty dog: ermmmm.... in the poll photo with different variants you have the same head duplicated with different goggles . Releasing something like that is a HUGE NO for me - it's much more fun to get more variety ....
Greatcoat torsos have been prepared and I've just added them to the webstore:
Do you have any mock-ups on how those greatcoats would look with (a) the Space Police heads and/or (b) the goggle heads?
You see, there's a certain... space game... that's rumored to soon be releasing a new army book for a certain... army... of a chaotic nature... and they are rumored to have a sort of... human auxiliary... as a unit choice... and I'd love to make my "human auxiliary choice" out of greatcoat models.
again I'm kinda lost in the bowels of the workshop with all the work going on and extra training sessions...
Heck, but it can't keep us from releasing cool stuff . Space Police helmets have been released
@Ketara: as usual .
A quick qoute from webstore front:
"Custom orders possible on most of the sets - if you wish to receive some specific combination of bits in the set (but still within the quantity of the items in the set) let us know which ones do you want in the comments field before checkout"
"Hmmmm, wonder what max mini has been up to lately..."

I just wished they would package the legs, torsos and heads in the same amount or in a squad type of deal. As it stands now to get a squad of ten is would cost around $38 which would be 2 packs of combat torsos, 2 leg packs with 2 extra legs left over and a pack of heads (namely the new police heads). Then either order cadian arms or wait till they produce a set of arms...sigh...

I like this line of thinking - squad packs with a price break would be great, double so if they include arm and weapon options (eventually)!
Honestly i think some of these different companies should team up to offer 'squad boxes'. Because you've got Anvil that makes incredible weapons, then say Maxmini that does awesome heads, torsos and legs.
But yeah, a complete squad package deal would be awesome.
ph34r: got to admit it's the first time I hear about such issue. So far I gathered rather good reports:
Sample 1 Sample 2 Some modelling may be required as with all kits, but nothing that should prove difficult.
Yup, I do check feedback and make adjustments if neccessary .
@Chaplain: The way the sets are arranged has been influenced by the way they sprue and cast. No hidden scheme here. And got to admit I can't think about having 2-3 parts left as a bad thing - I've always collected spare parts and had a conversion frenzy from time to time.
But will look whether we can sprue things differently in the future.
@MrMoustaffa: LOL
@SickSix, Alpharius: heck, we have quite a selection of ballistic weapons already (shameless plug ):
MaxMini guns
As for arms - they are in the works. As mentioned earlier we're looking for the flexible solution that would allow different weapon fits.
get the shields and shock mauls done and Ill be ready to order ... sir!
Agree I would like to see these soon
Also when creating the arms sets is it possible to have some none fighting pose sets, I would love to see some at ease poses lighting a stubby, drinking, pointing leaning arms would be cool and my would love to see a crossed arms .
I feel this would add to the realism and general cool look of units
Also any chance of using those CAD skills to produce some HQ dog mascots, may be with some enhancements
I have had no issues with the torso's and arms matching up, maybe a little GS but I have to do that with GW stuff.
I'm really, really interested in riot shields with a power maul. I am on the verge of making some myself, but now that Maxmini is on this path I will likely wait. Maxmini's quality is too good
Will place an order for these as soon as they are releases.
Simply cannot resist a combo of Drill instructor+Shaved prisoner+Riddick+the rapist in Alien 3...

Please, can we have a version of these without goggles and bandanas? Just mean looking bald heads.
With the Heresy and new Evil Augmented Book, will maxmini be making accessories for these? Like say discs that a Evil Augmented Human might ride on of a mechanical or daemonic nature?
@lone dirty dog: which email address have you tried ? Was it przemek (at) maxmini.eu ? I can't find your email .
I'll try to search my mailbox again - I've been sick last week and I'm working my way through pile of messages.
At least I'm glad rest of the team has been all right so all the other things worked as usual .
I guess our recent releases have not been posted yet - here they are:
Ash junkers heads
Yes it was that address we had this problem before I also sent a PM via here and Maxmini forum, but got your PM here sent you one back here as well mate
Long-time reader, just never registered, just feeling compelled to, as I am wondering about the Combat Armour Torsos. Do they still fit in poorly with IG Cadian Trooper arms these days? I want to order a batch of them together with the legs, but I definately don't want to having to go out of my way with greenstuff just to get the arms to fit proper.
I've been searching for a company that makes a conversion bit but have had no luck.
I am looking for small armor pads that would be suitable for knee pads, thigh pads, and shoulder pads for 28mm models.
I was curious if you had plans on making anything like that (or perhaps became inspired)?

I have mentioned shoulder pads IG size never had any luck mind

Would love this as well. I was thinking of trying out with having a SM-sized shoulderpad (I like Scibor's shoulderpads) on each Cadian Trooper's left arm, but having an IG-sized shoulderpad would be amazing.
Kroothawk wrote: Any non-Ork Xeno stuff, this market niche is almost empty.
Amen! However, it's also the most difficult to do. I'd love to see some great replacements for space elf heads, bodies, weapons, etc. Maybe some awesome stand-ins for space elf automatons.
I'll say the same thing I always say. Make a MegaNob equivalent and make it half the price of GWs and you'll make a mint now that 6th seems to love them.

Kind regards,
Zaph
no they are too wide to fit cadian arm sets unless you cut the magazine pouches off the front of the torsos {you can see them when the arms are on anyway }
Agreed it has a bit of wow factor
tank body looks good. turret not so good.
The Tanks gothic details are very 40k and I think the tank skirt looks amazing.
I think MaxMini are really declairing their FW/GW wannbe status.
Commander Cain wrote: Troopers look a bit strange. Their features are so pronounced that they look almost zombie-like.
I guess during war you dont get to eat so good? a bt of cartoon realism?
they kinda remind me of the sarge from quake3
Like most CAD images I find it best to wait and see the actual printed model, sometimes it seems to work better when printed.
I think they over accentuate features because when it is printed in smaller scale some detail is lost, so the they over exaggerate it to compensate for it.
The Gothic KV2 is great. A lot of people will be happy to use it as is for a sponsonless counts-as Russ. Although I agree a sponson version variant would also be cool, I don't see any easy way of making such a thing, short of a total hull redesign.
Thx for keeping this topic alive guys .
While I'm on the training courses the time I had for online activities is VERY limited. But hey, on the other hand this will result in many exciting things for us in the end .
Hopefully the rest of the team will be able to keep updates up.
Thx to Xmas holidays I had a chance to work on some. Here's a quick pic of the Boonie Hats sculpted by Kazube , straight from 3d printer. In the next couple of days I should have first casts .
Looking good but will wait for the actual cast versions as the blue is obscuring the detail a little are the chaos power fists being cast up at the same time
Przemas did you get my PM just you never answered back
@lone dirty dog: have to admit I haven't logged in here for months. It is due to training courses I've mentioned .
As for the custom options of the heads - I've send yo a pm. I think that Mati will be able to help - he has taken over such custom requests while I'm off getting new skills (3-4 months and the training will end) .
In a meantime - fists have been reprinted and went to production:
We also have a couple of full miniatures waiting for release. I've just got some first metal casts from Mati - I should be able to share soon .

Yes got it mate I will send him the info then they are looking pretty sweet even in the blue cant wait to see them with a pint job, I have to say as of late I felt you were falling by the road side a bit a little to quite, but if it is due to some intense training with good results I will forgive you mate LOL only if good results
I cant wait to see these figures you are hinting at, do we get any clues
I hope to see more in the Ork line, I did buy it on a bit of a whim to be honest (Ork fan you see) but when it arrived I was quite impressed and the conversion potential
@lone dirty dog: yeah , I know. I felt that we're getting quiet too - trying to study and run the company is pain at times. The courses take 4 days of my week :/ . But on a good side - I'll ask rest of the team to keep on posting .
Oh, and as for minis - wait a tad mate. You'll be happy .
But getting back to news - a while ago we got a damn cool space ogre from Bob Olley. Atm Olek is working on the painjob, while Mati is casting those in white metal. So expect it soon
Apart from the feel what I love about this kit is its flexibility - you can assemble it in variety of ways as it comes with 4 different heads and 3 weapon variants.
@lone dirt dog:You know that we're really customer-friendly when it comes to choosing the bits and making custom orders. But there's a limit of what we can do - we should avoid things that would cause mess. So no, I don't think we'll sell torsos separately.
As for heads - personally I love them. A matter of taste . My favourite is the one with goggles .
And when it comes to material choice - yes , it will be in metal. But don't exaggarate - most of the thing we do is resin.
Metal makes sense in lot of situations and the quality is still great .
For sure we'll do a lot of aribtrary material choices - but you have to trust me on that. I do such choices only for the good of a given project. I check which material would work better and I check how it casts. Those are 2 main factors taken into consideration.
So for example I think sniper rifles , ak guns etc will go eventually into metal. This will prevent damages to the model you convert (no snapped barrels and so on).
On the other hand big pa guns will stay in resin - as they are large they would make model topple over when cast in metal.
Another clasic example, but showing different issue, are greatcoat legs. Initially I wanted to make them in resin. But it has turned out they are a real pain in the a.. to cast in resin. We would have to convert them significantly, but that would destroy all the amazing sculpting job Gregor did. Another option would be to go through the roof with price (50USD?) - but that wouldn't sell.
But hey you can say - why won't you add such option? Maybe one customer out of thousand will be willing to pay this price (I doubt it).
Yeah, but the issue is the other 999 will think we're clinically insane . Moreover it could cause some confusion when searching for the item.
Of course this does not mean I'm always right. For example Ugruth should have been cast in metal (and maybe it will be).
So all in all you have to trust me mate - I'm doing it for the best of the project and to keep things running .
Also note I'm actively checking and looking for other material choices. If I find something that will work better I'll do my best to add it to our arsenal. That's one of the reasons why I'm going through training courses and learning all the time .
So the greatcoat legs are still in metal eh? Interesting. I needed more but hadn't ordered any because I thought they were resin now and the metal torsos I was putting on them would cause them to fall over...
Don't get me wrong Przemas I was not saying all your stuff was in metal of late I was just wondering why the change in materials at certain times (all be it the legs and possibly this ogre ) now you explained why I totally understand the need for it.
I was only referring to the cost difference with the great coat legs on what you had once mentioned around the time of release, that there would be an option of resin but it would be a higher cost possibly in the future.
Now the issues have been highlighted I can see the reasoning behind it, finically it would be a disaster to produce them at that price.
Like I said my wish for resin is due to conversion work as not a gaming just a miniature lover, so the moving around issue is less of a problem for myself.
Plus the views are only my own and no way intended to be deliberating in any way, plus I always feel it fair to give feedback wether it is positive/negative or indifferent.
After all I love and enjoy most of your products hence owning quite a few, however I just found the ogre not to my taste.
However there are plenty of others who will love the look of that I am sure, plus the options for posing and weapon layout is a nice touch.
I did like the body of it which was why I mentioned the possible sale of parts individually, however I totally understand why you don't want to take this approach.
Also good luck with the training I am sure it will all pay off in the near future then we can see even more great stuff what is the ETA on the bonnie hats by the way
And thanks for the PM spoke to Mateusz he has replied back and so have I, now just waiting for the reply back fingers crossed ever hopeful.
I like the Ogryns, The hands look like they come directly from my RT-era bone 'ead figure sculpted by Bob. But the weapons are, frankly, rubbish. Bob can certainly do better than that. Here's proof:
Give them this weapon (or a very close cousin) and I'll be pleased as punch. I have the guy in the picture, and so I'd be happy to give him some mates.
Except those ones have the best Ripper gun design that GW ever produced. I'm assuming Bob was behind it, but it's also possible someone else sculpted the original weapon and it was simply used in his sculpts?

They look amazing, can't wait till they are added to the online store.
And would there be a dedicated arm set for that rifle, or would users have to sculpt a set themselves? I've found that other company's existing arms don't fit that style of stock too well without a little cutting and resculpting work. The possibility of you producing some would be appreciated (a set compatible for the bullpup rifles would be fine too), as would it mean people could build soldiers entirely from your parts.
Anyhow, I may belay my latest order a bit to wait for those rifles to be release. ^^'
Am I the only one who immediately thought of the hunter from Jumanji?
Ha now you mention it totally, good call, mind you the gun needs changing, don't think Maxmini would like that
@ Maxmini I found that ages ago so when were you going to release it then ? Also what happened to the bionic boar found pics of that being used as well ?
Are you holding out on us, is this some kind of punishment also still waiting on the mini grot tank
Presuming that's scaled to be suitable for a biker warboss, I think you'll be selling quite a few
Hmm, the bike is relatively 'sensible', and could suit non-orcs too - perhaps consider making some alternate riders? (Or even just heads - that torso would be suitable for many races just by changing the paintjob...)
MrMoustaffa wrote: That thing is too cool. What is he dong with his right arm behind his back though?
I think it is half an arm so you can chose what "hand" you want to assemble it with, and then you've got his open shirt blowing in the wind so it appears that it is hiding his arm.
Przemas wrote: @lone dirty dog: if I remember correctly Mati is waiting for info from you which items exactly would you like
BTW - see , it's worth to wait. As promised here's first of the orcy goodness that we're currently working on:
I did send him the picture minus the heads that I did not want, he said he received it but needed to talk to you so I have no idea mate maybe i should drop him another email
Now that chopper is frigging amazing you have gone back to the good stuff, I can see an order growing here with these a plenty
Mind you I agree with greenskin lynn we need some goblin bikers for sure
Hard to tell if the biker in the picture is "Boy" sized or "Nob" sized or "Warboss" sized.
If the Biker himself if Nob sized, you'd be able to make quite a bit by selling the biker by himself without the bike. Of course you'd need to build the biker so that he would fit certain "28mm miniatures". I love the biker, and the heads look good. Need to see how he looks astride the bike to really judge.
I have to say though I'm not a fan of the bike. It's too clean and smooth, the front tire looks weedy. Again, I'm not sure about scale, but this bike looks like it's smaller than the GW bikes it would likely accompany. There's no huge exhaust mounts. Most importantly, there's no DAKKA on the thing! It's just not Orky enough.
I'd give you an A for the Biker - I'd buy some of him.
D for the Bike. Needs improvement.
Just my green-skinned opinion. I love the fact that you're making a biker though.
@Murrdox: I did not want the bike to be overdetailed as I imagine that orc modellers would want to customize it by themselves. There's always more weapons, bits on the sprues .
As for an orc - he is definietely larger than ordinary trooper.
I'll assemble the prototype and will post a photo so you'd be able to see how the parts work with each other better .
I've added Space Ogre to the webstore:
I've decided to add a kit of 3 as well - it makes sense IMO .
gotta ask you ... is the helmeted head maybe available so that we could order it for a whole set to each space ogre of the three model set? (sorry...crappy grammar^^)
Ok I have decided to do an ork biker army and you guys release this? Seriously do you have any date when this will become available? And any other variations for the torso? I want this so much
The middle one looks brilliant. The other two seem to have a slightly elongated proportion (compared to the 28m heroic figures I'd want to use them with). I can see myself ordering the middle ones, though.
Love them all with the exception on the one on the far right as it looks like someone has shoved an apple into it's mouth! The rest though, really pretty, may have to pick some up soon!
@KGatch113 - can you post pic? I've tried space police on several models and they worked great, definietly not too small. I'd like to see what you got to check whether all is ok. Also if you can masure the ones you get with a caliper that would be even better .
Przemas could you not have released those guns before my last order well looks like another order will be building up again LOL
P.S. I have those Space police heads right in front of me and mine are fine, are you trying to add them to SM bodies as they will look to small on those.
space police heads are wayyyyyyy too small for 40K scale figures.
Really? I have to disagree with you. I have two full units of these guys and the heads fit great!
Spoiler:
Those are FW arms. I think the scale is spot on. Are you using them on marines perhaps?
This is an excellent Adeptus Arbite. What are the components you used?
I can place most of it but not too sure. They look like Death Korp arms but the did you change the hand holding the maul? and where is that torso from?

While the release of the Big Orc Biker set is coming we've thought that making a set that woudl allow building a whole biker mobs an easier task would be awesome - and here's first sneak pic of the Bad Orc Bikers Heads:
@elotsip: love your space police . Next week I'll be printing a set of arms that would work nicely with our combat arour torsos. Drop me a line and I'll send you sample set - I'd like to hear your feedback on those .
Clang wrote: Great heads, especially the teeth, although the tongues are a bit too sticky-outy for my taste
They need to TASTE the speed.
I think it adds character.
I also find things look more prominent in the renders as to when they are printed, but I personally love the over crazed characteristic after all they are Orks
OK my newest order turned up today (that was fast ) only a small one as I decided I needed those guns pretty sharpest
I opened up to find a couple of extras Thanks again Maxmini free stuff is always so much more fun than paying for it LOL
As we know some of the range is going to metal to be honest I was not a fan when hearing this, I still say resin is my favourite material but the metal is really quite good and the detail seems pretty crisp.
I have taken a couple of pics so you make your own opinions, just want to add the new guns are great perfect for that traditional themed units but still fitting with the sci-fi theme.
The new arms that are mentioned for the combat torsos, will they fit the Assault Rifles? And also will they have a shoulder pad ala other company human sized infantry?
Hope you had fun Easter - heck, out here it was fun and strange at the same time. I can't remember Easter with so much snow .
Gothic KV2 is yet another step closer to being finished - we've cleaned the geometry, split the model into parts and prepared it for production. Can't wait to get first 3d print into my hands
We've just got back from Salute - wow, what a great show! Hope to add some pics from the event to our FB profile by the end of the week. Thx to all that popped in for a chat .
I've just added orc biker to the store:
As mentioned in the decription the mdoel can be assembled in variety of ways thx to different weapons options and head swaps. I also plan to work on some more upgrades .
I managed to pick one at salute. so much character and great options to diversify your squad. The front wheel is a bit annoying to put in place but apart from that the model goes together very smoothly
I'm surprised by the bike. The biker looks great as well as those heads that are previewed. The bike is kind of ho hum. Especially considering how awesome everything else you make is. It's a little too plain looking for a 40k "stand in"
Even by today's motorcycles standard its a bit bland. With no guns on the bike or anything to customize the bike i'm just a little surprised this is what you went with.
I agree with the comments on the orc bike, the orc itself looks pretty awesome but the bike loos like it would be better survived with a human riding it, doesnt seem big enough or orcy enough
i agree the bike is sexy, its just not what comes to mind when I think of an orc bike....though it possible I've just been to brainwashed into what an orc anything should look like

I can see why there is some reservation towards the bike it is rather clean to what we have come to expect from certain companies, although I think this allows the modeller a little scope to personalise it more.
Plus I do believe there is some talk of update kits for it so maybe that will add more Dakka Dakka I myself can see some great potential in this with plenty of conversion idea's springing to mind.
I think they already said the same. They went with a cleaner bike so you can customize it the way you want. I actually have the bike so I can take size comparison shoots. I would say it fits more with nobz rather than warboss. But wouldn't look half bad standing for a warboss
- exactly . That was our idea for the bike kit. While it is very easy to add some details with a tiny bit of plasticard and spare parts it is rather tricky to "undo" such operation .
And now for soemthing completly different - one of the most fun projects we did so far .

Eric
Yes, reminds me a bit of the biker gang riding horses with handlebars in Blazing Saddles.
Got my most recent order recently. Like everything else I've gotten recently I haven't had time to QA it properly, but unless one of the tiny jump pack exhausts has been missed (ordered something like 15-25 jump packs), it all looks great. (as usual)
Now this is just teasing I can see gaps in the market getting filled and filled very well if this is just the concept count me sold added to the to buy list

And just for a small tease of what's in the pipeline:
Please don't make them too cheesecakey, please. Obviously there would be some skin showing because of jungle fighting and all that, but if you guys can do it tastefully I have a feeling you could tap a group of people that have been getting plastic blueballs for quite a while now.
Like, say, Defiance Game's entire fanbase from a year ago market I'd love to see some female sci fi soldiers that look more like actual soldiers, instead of porn in plastic form (that's what Kingdom Death is for)
She clearly isn't a Catachan guys. Those abs would never be able to stop a bullet.
That being said, I'm curious to see where you guys go with this. I'm very interested in those dogs and the KV-2, too. Speaking of the KV-2, is that going to be resin also? I'd love to see that thing in some nice, cheap plastic.
The male soldiers have dominated the market for way too long, and it pleases me that companies are picking up on this now. I will follow both Raging Heroes and MaxMini for this kind of venture with great excitement.
If the hounds wind up looking in resin like they did in CAD; then I will have to do something I try to actively avoid: buy models that don't fit into any army I own just because I like how they look so much.
The female soldiers, I'm sure I can fit them somewhere. Allies of something I have.
Been thinking for a while about the prospect of gun-dog servitors in an Inquisitorial Henchmen unit. There's a mention of cybernetic dog-servitors in one of the Ravenor books (actually as bad guys). I note that those ones have places one could mount guns...
I notice the dogs all have sockets in their necks/shoulders - either ready for some plug-in add-ons from MaxMini, or for modellers to add their own? So the conversion potential is definitely there.
Hmm, would a doggy Jokaero weaponsmith be too silly? Would at least avoid lots of monkey jokes...
I hadn't noticed those ports before. It does look like something should go there, but that's an odd place to mount weapons. I'd expect there to be something more along the lines of a harness with a gun mounted on it. Something like the dolphin exo-harnesses from Startide Rising would be pretty neat to have on these.
Yeah, I just mean that if there's some mechanical "parts" in the shoulder, you could easily connect weapons of your choice to those areas without it looking too unnatural.

Totally agree, I got the impression that some people may have thought (due to there comments ) there was going to be something else in the set from Maxmini, which I think they would have mentioned themselves even if it was in a round about way.
Interesting point - we don't know yet whether they're dog-sized, or wolf-sized, or thunderwolf-sized Wolf-sized had been my assumption, i.e. fitting on a 40mm base.
Let me know if that is what you wanted or something else. I don't really take photos of the bikes as I have not assembled anything yet. I lost my complete interest in 40K at the moment so probably not building them until the new codex rolls in

That's perfect thanks. So he's almost warboss sized which is what i was hoping
I'm very exited to see that greatcoat arms get finally done (they should be ready for release in 2 weeks time). We couldn't resist assembling some test models from parts that laid on Mati's desk
Heck, so now we can get a whole unit built using only our bits . Can't wait to see first squads .
Hmmm.... but looking at those mock-ups I really feel it would be cool to work on some WW2 Germany-inspired guns....
As I said on the FB post, this is just more cheesecake. No thanks. I was hoping it would be more Ripley/Vasquez from Aliens than strippers at a costume contest.
Yeah i too am a little disappointed that these are cheesecakey, since the teaser image had such potential. But that said i think i will reserve final judgement until the rest of the line is released.
Still they are good looking models and i'd really considering buying some just so i could have some decent looking female guardsmen in my army. (Great faces btw)

Yes because everone is clamouring for manish women models, why not a Pink model as well

@prz they are awesome
There are a significant number of people that want female soldiers. These here are not soldiers. We have tons of places to turn if we want nearly naked women with guns. Why enter an already crowded market?

Because some of us like a little variety in our Escher gangs...?

Lol. Though I suspect that Escher gangs are slightly more tasteful.
Escher gang! brilliant idea, now I'll be watching to see more come out! do we have any idea how many they will release? not sure how many i'll need for a gang either lol :-) I like them, maybe not so much for female guard but as a model they are very detailed and well done and i like the look of them.
I think they look pretty decent for gangers and so I am happy plus it proves the potential of what can be created, I do understand some peoples reservations due to the need for a more uniformed realistic female soldier.
The Escher "bikini tops" were based on the chest section of American Football pads.
I like these as standalone models, though I'd like to see some more proper female infantry, even semi-cheescakey like Infinity's stuff would be good. The only thing that really bothers me about these is the weapons. M16A2s just don't fit those models. More modern M16A4s/M4s/G36's - or Kalashnikovs - either old-school, or modernised.
