The new Quick Start Rules are now available in the Downloads section of our site.
These rules are streamlined and simplified version of the Infinity game system that will allow you to understand the basics of this game easily.
Once you have tested them, you will know the basic game mechanics and it will then be very easy to you to access the complete rules. With the complete ruleset you will have a greater variety of tactical and gaming possibilities, and you can enjoy Infinity in its totality.

Hmmm, yep thats a good idea. I'll need some time to to grips with the full rules but once i've got it down we should go all out!
Alkasyn wrote:Very good idea that will help me get new people into the hobby. I wonder what the price will be.
Free. It's a free download.
Welcome to Infinity. Corvus Belli will neither make you pay them for their ad copy, nor get you invested in a game just so that they can change everything and make you buy it all over again. It is a refreshing experience after having been treated like a money tree by GW, let me tell you.

Ha! I've been meaning to re-suggest that too... though I've devoured the rulebooks and think I'm ready to leave the Quick Start Rules behind...
You don't have to do one or the other- if you have a couple hours, a quick-start game to review the rules, followed by a game with the full set, is a great way to get up to speed in a single session. Plus there's no forgetting things between games.
We've already done the quick start game previously - but you are correct - there is no harm in a quick start rules warm up game before the main rules fumbling
Yeah, don't worry- the main-rules fumbling will continue for your first few games, as you step up the weird special rules (like AD, AD:TJ, G:Synch, etc. etc.).
but after about 10 games you'll be amazed at the complexity that you can quickly calculate in your head. Of course, that's still a lot of crunching. Every game of Infinity leaves me feeling like I've just taken the SATs.
silent25 wrote:Free copy of the rules released the week GW announces massive price hikes. Incredible luck or sheer marketing genius?
I go with the later
Given GW does their price hikes every year at the same time, planning this would be a great marketing moving.
Will have to give the rules a read. There is a small group that play the game in my area.
Sorry my friend, the sheer marketing genius proceeds the price hike.
Infinity has always had the rules out for free, since Day One.
They want people to play their games and have fun, so the rules are free. Try them out, proxy models with friends, test the system... then buy the models because they're awesome.
That... is the true marketing genius. Cool people with an awesome game and gorgeous models who understand their players.
Should I mention the eye candy party that we get every month with the new releases??
Month by month, releases for all the armies...
This company makes you buy new miniatures just because the newest always look better... in a constant curve... always getting higher...
I think what Infinity lacks in terms of marketing... Battle Reports! I would love to watch official bat rep videos by the Infinity guys. Those videos would conveniently show how the rules work and also an excuse to showcase the models.

Well BoW says they are now going to be doing reports including Infinity! Their first of course is 40k :( but still it sounds cool.
BrookM wrote:More sites need to do an Infinity week imho.
True that!
As for batreps for Infinifty, that's really something that the fanbase has done to date, and really well. Sure, the CB folks could do it... but we would all probably rather that they focus on putting out minis and rules as fast as they can, while we fans do all the extras. And rather than have them grow their company to have a lot of marketing, we would probably also all benefit from them staying small and low-overhead (lest they begin to go the way of GW/Wizards/etc.)
¡Viva la small game company! Down with the corporate-crap megamosters, up with game-producers who treat their customers like they would like to be treated themselves!
I'm not sure if everyone is aware of these, but there are some great semi-official battle reports in that section of the official forum. Actually, both of these did a lot to sell me the game:
Now I'm starting to sound like a CB fan, but really, they are awesome. I contacted them to claim my prize for the Dakka Painting Challenge, and they handled it really well. I really do appreciate it that they shouldered the shipping and handling, because if they didn't the shipping and handling itself would be more than the prize I won. AND I think they sent it as fast as possible: usually in the Philippines when we order something online we get it at least 1 month after the order. The package will make it her in on 28 when we finalized my order on the 24th. It really feels like they do love their fanbase.
A long time GW'er i've recently been driven to Warmachine, Malifaux and Dystopian Wars. Now with the latest gouge in ourt wallets its time for infinity.
I really like CBs attitude, myself and my GF both commented they seem to be much more 'a hobbyists company' and i love the fact they make all their resources available and support them with tutorial vids and regular updates.
Im Sold on the Yu Jing, (gonna be picking up an Imperial Service starter pack) and the idea of releases for my army every month is both alien and pleasing to me. Im currently reading the quick start rules
Sorry for the OT post but i have already started a topic in the Infinity forum and didnt want to flood it too much.
Im looking forwards to seeing the new funky models from a company not as draconian about sneak peeks as GW

Re. the battle reports, there is also this thread in the Infinity section of the forum, I'm not sure if you are aware of it had to go several pages back to find it:

I'm also going to add a link to another one that has been posted on the official forum. I defy anyone to read that report and not want to play this game, it is that awesome

A good example of their attitude to the playerbase is the recent Dakka painting contest, where they gave out a couple of hundred euros in prize support.
BUT... this is the Infinity News & Rumors thread - every time there's a new post in here, I think we'll finally be looking at the May releases, and possibly a nice new Raicho for the Morat Sectorial!
But no!
DID YOU KNOW...
...that there's an Infinity subforum, right here on Dakka Dakka?
I think this counts as news: the old model of the Odalisque with boarding shotgun is not on the their website or online store anymore. I think it's already phased out: in which case I'm glad it's one of the models I chose for my painting competition prize. like it better than the new model.
You see those Devas?
That's what I like!
As a note:
He looks kinda like a young Martin Sheen...

Yay at the new Daktari! Hopefully this means "Seductive Catgirl" is going to be destroyed, and then the sketches burned so that monstrosity can never be unleashed upon the world again.
Kanluwen wrote:Yay at the new Daktari! Hopefully this means "Seductive Catgirl" is going to be destroyed, and then the sketches burned so that monstrosity can never be unleashed upon the world again.
Nope, it doesn't. The Catgirl is a top seller, and it's not going to be discontinued. This new version is another options for those like you who were complaining of the old one. Also, the new version will be available in a separate blister only for a limited time, after that it will be only available in the support box.
I think I need to go complain about the Chasseur with ADHL, the Naga Sniper, and the Asuras then...
Hmm I think I was talking in plural, and counting you as one between many, not that I was focusing in you. It's like the fact that the Daktari is available now in blister and in the box. There is a lot of people complaining about some models being available only in boxes. So CB decided to sell her alone for a period of time (don't know how long, or if it's while stock exists). You know, some companies actually listen

Trust me, I know they listen. I just wish they'd start selling more of these from the boxed sets sooner.

I'm not sure what you mean by that: having minis available separately or having more support boxed sets? It looks like their are going to make support boxes for every faction, as they have released remotes for everyone. I guess they have the missions from the upcoming book on their minds.
The Devabots look exactly as in the concept art. Awesome!
I'm also a hugefan of the two Devas looking different. This way, you can take both with Devabots and indicate that "the guy" or "the girl" is your Lt.
Also, similar to the old two Deva models, I like how both the male and the female are exceptionally idealized without looking goofy. Keeps the sexism a bit down.
The non-abominable Daktari is actually really welcome. Being available in a separate blister is also tremendously welcome for those Nomad players that already have a Clockmaker and such.
Overall amazing releases throughout.
...but I never noticed the Dozer's stumpy arm. That looks awkward and can't be unseen...
Im in the same boat with the devas, really love them!
And whats extra nice about it is that you can use the male deva as the one with sensor to.
Glad that i havent wasted time painting my Probots either since they are going to disappear in the black hole that is the wardrobe and be replaced with the Pano ones. Probots look like crap....
Bubbalicious wrote:Im in the same boat with the devas, really love them!

I always thought the original box's Female Deva was the hacker (due to the empty hand) and the sensor (due to the thingy she's standing on).
This box's Devas come with a simple Combirifle Deva aiming a Nanopulser and a Combirifle Deva holding a knife. Both work with their devabots...

I phrased that one kind of awkwardly, that's my fault!
I wish that they would start having the miniatures from the main boxed sets available sooner; even if in a Support Box format.
Wow amazing, not a bad release this month! Even the Daktari is nice, although I already have the Cat-woman who I think wins in the 'look cute and annoy your opponent stakes'
And boy can that guy paint. For people who are not familiar with Infinity minis, even though those look like they could be life size they are small, and that detail is crammed into a very petite mini most of the time.
I'm really surprised there's a new Shasvastii figure. I would have thought a Morat if any Combined, because they just did the Gwailo and Noctifer before that. Also, why the Malignos hacker when the Haiduk still has not figure at all? Well I can't really complain though. I'm happy I got something
All the other figures are fantastic as usual. In particular the Dozer who looks like would be a fantastic paratrooper as well.
Wow that is quite an interesting turn of events. Sucks for the older players that may already have only one of the set, but cool for the new folks that get them all in one swoop.
Note to any Nomad players out there: Get a pack of Zondbots while they are available. We can take 4 zondbots in a vanilla list and the support pack only comes with 2.
I personally like the trend of infinity moving to box sets. It's easier for retailers and it gives people options for mix/match/convertion. Overall I think it's win/win.
BlueDagger wrote: Note to any Nomad players out there: Get a pack of Zondbots while they are available. We can take 4 zondbots in a vanilla list and the support pack only comes with 2.
Ah sweet BlueDagger, I was just thinking about asking that, and there you are, totally ahead of the game. Cheers.
Absolutionis wrote:The new Daktari is being discontinued alone after being out 3mo? Seems a bit strange, but not too surprising.
If you want a sensible model, you get the boxed set. If you're into abominations, you downgrade to the lone catgirl blister.
The first idea was making it a box-only model. But some people is not happy with having to buy a box of for when they only want one. So CB decided to release it in blister for a period of time, to give a chance to the interested people. The model will be still available in the support box.
Works for me. I only want the new Dok. The problem will be if they continue to have stocking problems like they seem to be having now. My LGS is having a hell of a time getting stuff in, and they're stocking just about everything.
I think that the Infinity catalogue is too damn big and if they continue to increase that catalog it will be more dificult to fullfill the market requirements.
They are a small company. Think about it: it is like having a restaurant where you have 400 options in the menu.
By repacking lonely miniatures in boxes they are reducing the number of products, that can make them more effective when it comes to re-stock stuff.
Also, I think that LGS and distributors may feel a bit intimidated when jumping into Infinity and see that they have like 350 products. This blows logistics away for a game.
How many products will Infinity have when they release the rest of the sectorial armies? 600? Is Infinity a game popular enough to keep a 600 products range?
....
They should re-pack all the weapon options for all the line troops in boxes. Instead of having a single blister of fusilier Hacker, fusilier HMG, fusilier Sniper, Fusilier GL... all in one multipart box. Same with the Zhanshis, Keisotsus, Moderators, Alguacils, Ghulams...

I've been saying something similar to this for a while, and I've had my ass handed to me by over zealous Infinity fans for even discussing the subject. I totally agree, for a game that only requires like 10 - 20 miniatures per side, they've really gone crazy on the amount of miniatures a gamer can have.
Personally, I think they should be concentrating on other areas of the Infinity game setting rather than churning out more bling. I'd like to see this long discussed Infinity RPG, I'd love to see more fiction work, either in comic form or novels, and definately expansion books and missions. I know these things may seem trivial to what Infinity is at the moment, but I think these aspects can help the setting mature and grow.
AT the rate these guys are churning out miniatures (albeit beautiful sculpts) they'll have enough product to be able to launch a full on WH40K level tabletop wargame.....of course, the price of the miniatures would be a barrier to entry
My local FLGS owner was actually just griping out such an issue the other day, albeit for Privateer Press. Apparently his pp section that's about 1/4th the size of his GW section has more SKU's and makes inventory/stocking/ordering a nightmare. Infinity seems very similar, with tons of individual SKU's for a game where each individual model is much more important and distinctive but with a huge array of model options and mostly are bought individually.
I'd also love to get some more books, but they should come with a decoder ring or something so make navigation easier. The models have been consistently amazing, so I say stick to churning out more awesome.
But that's just my 2 cents. Seems like there are plenty of people playing the armies I don't play, so there's love all over the board. Especially for CA, which I am just not interested in.
Might get an Anathematic just to paint for fun though.
Alpharius wrote:The "Infinity Community" seems to complain about some odd things at times...
The way i see it is that those of us here at Dakka, particularly those who helped build up to the sub-forum, aren't 'all about one system' we see each game as part of the greater hobby. I think it's fair to say that we love Infinity as much as we love the other systems we get involved in. The closed communities tend to be defensive of their chosen system because it's as far as they want to, or have, looked. Because of that we see their views as quite obtuse at times, for instance, the lack of conversion and DIY fluff with Infinity.
However, the mere objective of the Dakka Infinity Initiative was to ensure Infinity doesn't become/stay a 'closed' community. I got a lot of flak a few months ago for complaining the rulebooks are too convoluted and there's no mechanical difference between skills and equipment to warrant separate headings.
Either way, I have never seen any Inifnity fan, official forus or otherwise, hate on a conversion. There are some out there, and they can be damn good. It's just that many equipment loadouts for units already have amazing and unique models that conversions are often seen as unnecessary.
I have no beef with them filling out the line with models because honestly that is how they make money. New sculpts = more for people to purchase. While I make not be a huge fan of model X someone else may be a huge fan and want the full AVA 4 for the sectorial it comes in. With there being only 1-2 poses they may be patiently waiting for that new model.
It's also important to remember that putting out scuplts is probably the single easiest thing they can do. New Rules require countless hours of play testing to hold up to the unnatural level of balance in the game they have already maintained. I personally would LOVE a graphic novel. $50 for an Infinity graphic novel? I'd be all over that.
To be honest, what I feel is needed for this game to really take of is the scenarios and campaign book(s).
A set of tested competitive scenarios maybe with rules for tournament play together with rules for running different types of campaign, sieges, maybe boarding actions would turn a very good game into a truly great one!
Yup, and that is so close now it hurts. It will definitely be a HUGE turning point for Infinity though. Wither it is good or bad though has yet to be seen. Infinity's bad could shift drastically with missions, but if anyone can do it, they can.
Their recent FAQ incidents have shook my faith a little, but I have to trust that it's all part of the plan.

It's is coming, and should be pretty damn balanced. It's been pushed back over 6 month for that reason.
There's an excellent sub-forum here on Dakka Dakka devoted entirely to Infinity.
I know I'm occasionally (!) guilty of wandering off topic a bit in this thread, but please take all non-news and rumors discussion to the new sub-forum.
For those who like to convert their Infinity figs (of any faction), I HIGHLY suggest that you pick up a pack of your faction's respective little-buddy-bots (Zondbots, Yaozao, etc.) before they get folded into the support packs. Taking heads from Yaozao is one of the best ways to get correctly-sculpted helmets for Infinity HI. I have a bootleg Hsien with a Yaozao noggin and have another planned soon. So if you want head bitz for cheap (and that you don't have to saw off of something, buy those buddy-bots up now.
asimo77 wrote: FAQ incidents? Did I miss something bad? What exactly happened?
The last few months have had some um, interesting FAQ rulings. Dodges can intercept active models movement, ZoCARO are use it or lose it, The act of jumping a G:Jumper into a TO model will reveal it before it's shot is made, a model immobilized doesn't get it's PH-6 save vs adhesive, and a few others.

We can expect:
-box of 4 Shaolin
-Muyib with heavy-rocket launcher
-The Riot grrls, with a spitfire.
-Metro HMG - Shasvastii Hero
- New sculpts of the shaolin. That's cool I don´t like the ones from the blister.
- The last rumour about the Rocket Launcher is that it will have Fire ammo.
As far as I've heard (hearsay from someone who got it from Bostria XD) one of the Rocket Launcher's funny little quirks is the use of fire ammunition.
Yay for burning the infidels!
That would be very interesting, that will allow player to burn TO cammo troops. If this is like a Missile launcher but with Fire, it will allow to burn Cutter from a long distance. And also to be able to burn Shasvastiis and make them fall unconscious, die, and burn their spawn-embryo with the same hit.
- Riot Grrls with Spitfire means that we will get just a single blister with one miniature. This means that they are NOT releasing them as a box, so they are not Linkable. I think that this could be a cammo troop or a Combat jump troop.
BobbaFett wrote:- The last rumour about the Rocket Launcher is that it will have Fire ammo.
That's not a rumour, that's a leak. People in the know had been told not to spoil that kind of info. That "someone" 'd better told his "friend" to keep his mouth closed.

Likely a new troop profile; or just a pet name.
They're Bakunin Moderators, who act as the police force on Bakunin, seemingly in heavy armor.

This ^^, 1 Sectoral "Greek" for Aleph and new units for the current sectorials. That was the info giving in a interview, umm... linking Myrmidons, time for fire everywhere.
Wow! As I've got Haqqislam and Nomads these should be some useful releases!
And as I have the Uberfallkomando and Daktari doctor (original cat one, Kanluwen's favourite ^^) is it wrong for me to want those HI Bakkunin to be something like Dominion Tank Police?
Husam (the hinted at "Heavy Missile Launcher" w/ Fire/Burning?)
For Nomads:
Riot Grrls (Bakunin HI?)
Wildcats (Corregidor AD Drop Troops?)
For Yu-Jing:
Raiden (AD Drop Troops?)
For...Mercs?

Why in the world would you think it's a "Weretiger"?
If you look at some of the various Private Military Companies in existence at the moment, many of them have iconography much like what we saw with the "Kaplan Securities" badge.
Executive Outcomes immediately springs to mind, with an icon which looks like a rearing stallion.
It could very well be a Haqqislam-associated pirate group similar to the Yuan Yuan. Maybe some influence from the Turkish Red Corsairs of the Mediterrarean Sea... in spaaaace!
We already have a reason for the wolf-men of Ariadna (native aliens) and the animal-hybrids of the Nomads (they're sexual deviants). We don't need yet another man-animal.
The Kanji on the Raiden symbol means electricity if I'm not mistaken which fits since Raiden is a thunder god or some such I believe. I wonder if that means anything. Also is the Husam a Hassassin unit?

Yes but what if those private security companies had the opportunity to splice tiger genes with a human?
And thanks Morathi's Darkest Sin for forever ruining that Riot Grrls symbol for me haha!

"Raiden" also has a video-game pop-culture reference to that silly cyber-ninja from the Metal Gear series. Admittedly, a cybernetic ninja does fit the Infinity aesthetic much more than a guy in a rice hat that shoots electricity.
Yes right, I've usually just ordered from Maelstrom or Wayland (where it's not available). If you can order it direct though, all's good so thanks for that guys
I'm a bit sad that I'd need to attack the Aleph one with a black marker or fabric paint to get rid of the white edging where they didn't bind it properly though :/
I do, however, really like the Corregidor and Highlander ones. they might go nicely with the BPRD and ODST patches I've got
I know what they're doing with these, but it still a glaring oversight that there's no Jotum patch!
I have to admit, every time I see a new post in this thread, I hope it is pics of the new releases, and that 'this' month is the one that finally sees the Raicho getting released...
Alpharius wrote:So... from what we 'already know', it doesn't look like the Raicho is coming this month - grrrrrrrr!
Not necessarily.
Didn't they release the Mulebots AND the Devas last month alongside even another repackaged big box?
They showed they're not afraid to release three boxes in a month even if one was a 75% repackage.
Sub the Raicho for the Mulebots and the Shaolin Monks for the Devas and it's comparable.
Yeah, these guys are much better. And oddly, they look more dynamic than the old ones even though the old ones were in much crazier poses. I think the old monks just didn't have believable musculature for the positions they were in. They looked like a model not in motion, but a model holding a pose.
So the change here could be an object lesson in how sculptors can to more with less.
Alpharius wrote:So... Riot Grrls, Raiden, Monks, and... I can't remember the other "RAVAGE" rumored releases, other than the fact that the Raicho wasn't on the list!
I'm going with the Absolutionis Theory until reality intrudes though!
Alpharius, I can't imagine that it is even possible (other than perhaps through some form of arcane arts) but have you actually been holding your breath for all of this time?
Regarding the Riot Grrls, has anyone got any info at all about them? Concept or things like that?
I also am hoping for the Maghariba pilot, or maybe a new TAG for Haqqislam (I like the Maghariba, but it looks... friendly. Also the size of the base makes it hard to maneuver in our tables) . Definitely buying the one the upcoming mercenary TAG in the future.

It comes with a base?!?
IIRC, it's recommended base size is a CD, which is immense.
I wish it did come with a base, and I wish it wasn't of such a size as to make maneuvering the thing around the battlefield (especially a properly 'terrained" Infinity battlefield!) such a nightmare!
Or they'd rule that it can walk sideways on walls. It looks like a spider, after all. A very friendly spider.
Back on topic, those monks might really convince me to go Yu Jing as my next army. I want to do an Imperial Service army, problem is these monks are the only models I like so far from the units that can be taken for that...
Those look absolutely fantastic. Good to see them taking them more in a military direction, aesthetic wise, rather than a straight anime direction (like the old models).
This kind of boxes include 2 copies of 2 different bodies. Maybe in their commisions for the promotional pics Angel Giraldez only paint one of each pieces and CB make compositions to make faster and cheaper. It's the best idea I came up with xD

Kinda...
The Shaloin boxed set comes with 4 bodies and four-and-a-half sets of arms for weapon options.
Some beautiful minis again this month! I've been looking at that Riot Grrl for a while, and while I was initially disappointed at the conception they have run with, it is definitely growing on me. I am already thinking of a mental paint-scheme for it, a riot of colours if you like (lots of discordant blues, purples and greens, and if I can print it small enough perhaps some company logos on parts of the armour?)
And those Metros? Just wow - I was thinking of some kind of scenario of those guys fighting the strain models from the Sedition Wars board game; as though they are some kind of underground fighting force against alien invasion perhaps? The models definitely have a 'militia' look about them!
Alpharius wrote:No Raicho, again.
Great, now another month of not being able to post in the News section without fear of admonishment from Alpharius because it is not 'Raicho' related!!
We improve our range of pins! After the vote of the last week, here are the winners:
Panoceania: Acontecimento Regulars / Order Sergeants / Jotums
You can find them in our online store!
Hell yeah!
If anyone is planning an order soon, let me know as I'd like to get a few JOTUM pins!

I'll try to restrain and refrain - but it won't be easy!!!
*ignores the Riot Grrrl, just for Alpharius' sake*
I like the Metro, the hood is kind of a strange choice though.
The Assassin Muyib is nice, the Monks are neat, and the Cadmus is definitely kinda cool looking.
I actually like the Riot Grrlz or whatever the name is. The overall design is nice, but, by God, those spiky tits have to go. Some armor plates will do the job.
Hmm, Riot Grrrl seems a bit Alephy. I guess I imagined a cross between Tank GIrl and Akira's bike (yes, that's a completely reasonable combination, shut up).
plastictrees wrote:Hmm, Riot Grrrl seems a bit Alephy. I guess I imagined a cross between Tank GIrl and Akira's bike (yes, that's a completely reasonable combination, shut up).
I know what you mean, I was hoping for the same thing!
I think the model is there, and the paint-job makes it look a bit more like Aleph - easily rectified with some reds, and maybe even a Canon logo on the armour somewhere?
The Riot Grrl group shot just reminds me of why I can't get into Nomads as an army. Half of the look too, I don't know, happy anime? And the other half look serious business anime. I like the latter, not the former.
I think that is the intention though Loki, or certainly the impression I got from reading their background; the Nomads are a collection of the dispossessed, and various different creeds and ideologies. So you get the religious fanatics of the Reverend Custodiers and Sin Eaters, to the Morlocks and Uberfallkommando who have spliced their genes with animals and other stuff!
On a modelling standpoint at least it lets you choose a different direction depending on what floats your boat - you can completely avoid the more 'anime' styled stuff if you want, just making the Nomads from Tomcats, Hellcats and Prowlers etc. Or you can do as I have done and use multiple Daktari, fox/hare people and make it look as zany as possible. Personally I think as well that they mix fairly well, and CB has just about pulled it off in terms of mixing the various styles of miniatures.
Alpharius wrote:There's a group shot with more Riot Grrls?
Where?
Not group shot of Riot Grrls, I said Riot Grrl group shot. The one with the Reverend Custodier and... Sin Eater? You know, the group shot released with the Riot Grrl putting her centre stage.
That one's fine, but for my personal tastes it's more of 3rd army material, not 2nd army material. Does that make sense?
For now I'm looking for more feminine figures since that's one avenue of painting subjects I haven't touched due to years of macho 40k. That hellcat is badass, but badass is not what I'm pining for right now it terms of subject matter.
Been waiting for that HMG metro! Looks like it was worth it. Now if only I could get the chasseur in a separate blister I would be set on merovingians.
That Cadmus is a great mini but looks a little out of place from the usual style.
The monks are really nice! Would love to see these guys facing off against some JSA for a scifi Kung Fu extravaganza!
Well the only thing about him is a new weapon. We know everything else. I just wonder what the hell a HEAVY rocket launcher can do that the regular couldn't. Fire dmg maybe?
“I will just tell you that this Shasvastii agent has been able to morpho-scan Achilles… yes, you know, the android-like guy who’s a human-sized TAG: fast, strong and tough as hell. Well, Sheskiin has copied all of his characteristics… and she’s also a chick, so she’s like Achilles with pre-menstrual tension.”
The Combined Army may steal the biology of Achilles, but they don't/won't/can't steal the Aleph tech. Arguable the EI may have better technology overall, but Aleph is still pretty good.
Well a short translation of the most important stuff from the article:
Hier mal eine nüchterne Auflistung, was uns alles erwartet:
Ca. 10 neue Einheiten pro Fraktion
-> about 10 new units per fraction
GEHEIM -> secret?
Für jede Fraktion eine Spec Ops Miniatur, welche den Spieler auf dem Spielfeld repräsentiert. Der Blister soll verschiedene Kopf- und Waffenoptionen haben.
-> for every fraction a spec ops miniature which is representing the player himselef, with different weapon and head options
GEHEIM -> secret
Eine fortgeführte Geschichte. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Spielen verändert sich das Infinityuniversum dauerhaft mit dem Buch und ergänzt es nicht nur um weitere Facetten.
-> ongoing storyline which will change the infinity universe and enhance it with several new facets
Natürlich mehrere Missionen die abwechslungsreich sein sollen.
-> multiple mission which will be very varied
Ein Erfahrungssystem, mit welchen man entweder den Spec Ops aufrüsten, oder seine Armee individualisieren kann.
-> an experience system which can be used to upgrade the spec ops or to individualize your army
Neue, stark getestete, Fähigkeiten und Regeln.
-> new strongly testet rules and abilities
Wieder ein „Chick with Robot“
-> an other chick with robot ;-)
The whole company facilities are as large as the studio of the author's podcast people. And they are full of comics and other gubbins (creative chaos)
Everything is handmade without any CAD programs, even the TAGs. The original sketches are in standard pose, the sculptor has to make up the dynamic one.
New book is more than just a campaign, almost a second Human Sphere. If you play once per week, you may take 6 months to play the campaign.
They already have plans for the next book.
They invited the author for some LARP fighting in the woods.

Damn I am excited about this.. it would explain the delay with the missions book, looks like they are going to go all-out with it and make an entire new expansion!
As I said over in the Infinity-subforum - A spec Ops mini that represents the player himself (or the player character if you prefer) sounds really, really awesome. Sign me up. Sign me up a lot.
Some clarifications have been posted in the Spanish official forum by the staff (Palanka and Bostria):
- it's not 10 new units per faction. Some will have more than 10, and the others will have less.
- the spec-ops guy is NOT the Liutenant, and the experience can be used to improve the guy or to have special advantages for your army in the campaign setting.
- the new skills and rules have been über-tested.
- the missions have been tested even harder.
- they don't have plans for a new book. They have plans for several new books.
- also, they say that they don't want to give too much info, because in the Spanish forums, the veteran users know how to read any bit of info very well, and their predictions about the upcoming minis each month are pretty good (they use to be right with the half or more every month). CB wants the book to be a blast, and the veterans could ruin the surprise factor
Edit: also, they are taking feedback on the new profile design. Would you like to tell them something about it? Personally, I'm not too keen on the icons portraying if a mini is Regular, Irregular, Impetuous, Not impetuous, Frenzy... Did you note that Riot Grrrlz and the Cadmus characters had Frenzy?
Thanks for the clarifications !
I think I prefer the clear "Regular - Not impetuous" profile type but it might be out of habit. With a little time I think it will be as quick to identify what type of unit it is.
That's great news, thanks for the translation Erasoketa!
Has there been any mention yet of when we can expect the new book to appear? It's great news in any case that CB haven't been resting on their laurels, and that they have been extensively playtesting. The current game is so well balanced in most regards, and it would be a shame to ruin that!
Wow! I can imagine these moving and shooting in stop-gap animation style like the evil-robot in Robocop 2
Interesting paint scheme, I'm not sure if I have seen battle damage on the officially painted minis before? Perhaps sign of the campaign system? (I am clutching at straws here )

You're welcome, not a problem at all They didn't say anything about dates. Earlier rumours were pointing to April, so the book might have been already delayed. AFAIK next months will be like June, some old needed minis, some resculpts, and some complete new units. So the book might be still a few months away, I don't really know
Edit: I want it NOW!
And tomorrow at 12:00, best fiestas in the world begin
Von Skyfury wrote:The Jotum would like a word with you =)

Yes I forgot about that one.. better hide !
I thought Alpharius was "NO RAICHO WHYYYYY".
Those remotes look like they have Evangelion heads. Me likey. Although I still wish Yu Jing will release a TAG that I like like 100%: I like the O-Yoroi and the Guija and I would really like to have a nice TAG centerpiece to my planned Yu Jing army, but they just don't do it for me. So far only the Jotum has my 100% love and affection, and I'm not into PanO.
There has gotta be an official Mercenary faction coming up! Why the hell would you come out with McFurryface? Yes the old one is not up to new standards but it didn't NEED to be done.
While I know August 3 will be all about the new book, I'm also hoping for the "When is the Raicho T.A.G. finally getting released?!?" question to finally be answered too!
Seems that the book will be released in August 3rd. And some people is suggesting that a new sectorial army is coming, because that logo is completely new.
Loving the latest releases. I will probably get a few drones form several factions for my own evil purposes. I still can't fathom why they insist on using those silly little base extensions but they look really out of place to me.
I'm talking about the "teaser", of course. For all the flak GW gets (deservedly, mind you), and for the path of success supposedly being "do what GW does... in reverse", CB was quick to hop on the nonsense teaser bandwagon devised by Evil Corp. So much for alternative companies and their standards and, dare I say, integrity. Shame.
Still, what did I expect from a company running on fan service that puts nipple-armor on feminist corps...

Yup, a new sectorial, but only 1. I can't remember the name, but it will be the Greek based Aleph one.
Just because a company does a "here is a date in an epic way, but that is all" doesn't mean they are copying GW. That's method of teasing has been done a bazillion times.
The reason GW got flak for it is because everyone already knew and even had pics of the stuff. So it was more of a "Hey here is a date for something you already know pretty much everything about"
CB's campaign book on the other hand, there is very liitle known even though they have teasered some stuff. The symbol that was used was for sectorial that no one has seen so it's very cool to see.

This is all I'm going to feed you, but let me explain it to you like this: People hate GW not for any one small thing it does, they hate it because of the Price Hikes, the disrespect they are starting to show their own lore, and the fact that every new edition is nothing more than a way to move more products that weren't selling last edition.
-DE- The methods by the two companies are incomparable. Go over to the Infinity forums and have a look and you will see that most people have some idea about what is on the horizon. Everyone knows for instance that the video is for the new book, and CB have even talked about some of the contents - that video is just a confirmation of that. GW uses a different method of not telling anyone about any releases, with no 'official' teasers, before a short time before we get the pre-order email. So the teaser videos, which show nothing, only serve to frustrate. I won't say one way is 'better' than the other, although one of these methods seems to be more disliked than the other.
Nice looking releases this month in any case! I take it there is no chance of the Raicho coming for July/August then?
Pretty dry release wave. Technically good as always but lots of questionable design choices and general blandness. The pose on the jumpack guy is just...

Love the new miniatures. Specially the new knight... makes the other knights look like homeless people.
About the teaser trailer... this morning it seemed to be just an image in the facebook gallery, then I saw the video "Wow! a trailer!" and it was just the same image with a bit of movement. Dissapointing.
I hope that if they release new videos have at least some cool never seen before miniatures, artwork and stuff that makes something special about it.
Will wait until August 3rd, if they dissapoint me again... they'll experience pain and madness!!!

His Master's Voice wrote:Pretty dry release wave. Technically good as always but lots of questionable design choices and general blandness. The pose on the jumpack guy is just...
I think it's a quite subtle bit of posing.. there is almost a kind of arrogance with the way some of the Aleph are posing, both with this and some of their other models. My only criticism is that he looks like he has a little bit of a woman's bottom
CB are generally quite bold with some of their ideas, and I think the sculptors are given quite a lot of free reign. At times it works, at times it doesn't (the Wulver vaulting the wall for instance), but I like the sheer creativity that seems to shine through it.
That Knight is simply beautifully painted (well.. they all are, but that one in particular is just great).
Commander Cain wrote:I still can't fathom why they insist on using those silly little base extensions but they look really out of place to me.
Possibly concerns about fitting them in corridors etc if they were on a larger base. Probably just because I believe no one makes a bevelled-edge 50mm base in plastic. And I like the way they overflow their bases, so
I used to dislike those base extensions as well. It really ends up looking awkward on some models such as the Marut who is inexplicably doing a leg-spread just so it would warrant using those extensions.
Nowadays, I've just gotten over it. Direction and facing matter in the game, so position your models well.
It's not 100% but at least 90%. CB has thrown some curve balls before. But this is the big thing known to be coming out. It was at first supposed to be out months ago but was pushed back. It's thought, but not proven, that there may be a sectoral for Aleph. And even more of a rumor is that Mercenaries MIGHT become a bit more of their own faction. Meaning legal at tournaments and stuff. This is only thought of because of the figures that have come out lately. Druze, New McMurough, coming out is a Merc TAG, and the Kaplan Securities.

How did McMurrough end up in this situation and what does the Hassassin Society have to do with it? This is something you will find in the upcoming Infinity Campaign Book!

Wha...?!?
I haven't heard a single thing about this!
Granted, I don't get over to the Official Forums much (blocked at work dammit!) - but still, I haven't heard the first thing about a new alien faction...
Any more details on them, or why people think they're coming?
It finally hit me why this announcement didn't piss off Infinity fans like the GW teaser did.
Corvus Belli has been, for months now, dropping official hints that there is a campaign book coming out. They wouldn't give a strict date, but it's been delayed more than once IIRC. Then, suddenly, they drop a date so we can all get excited because we know what it is.
As for another Alien faction, that seems a bit meh.
