Still a bunch of boobplate/corset... accentuation on the other two, not to speak of the unmistakably intentional bikini-look of the loincloth on the one in the middle.
Great models, but if this is the benchmark for 'not sexualized' that's a pretty low bar.
Not from my perspective, all is decent but still sexy. Maybe its my latin blood talking here

Maybe a burka would be ok
Would be good for high model count armies - saves on the painting time Seriously though, some actually functional gear (without this sort of ridiculous stuff) would be good every once in a while.
No characters have switched sides except for the special Kickstarter Cygnar guy, to my knowledge. Deneghra died... but she's a character in the Undead faction, so very little changed really. Karchev was disassembled? The Harbinger died and came back to life?

Vinter has changed sides numerous times, Magnus has changed sides multiple times as well. Lich Lord Daeamortus died, so did Pyromalfic and so did Hierarch Voyle.
There are several instances of characters dying and changing sides in the fluff...
Unless it's a character I can put on the tabletop I'm not counting it. They can do all they want to with fluff-exclusive characters, they aren't who you take as the figurehead/leader/general/warcaster when actually playing the game.
Magnus sure, though. I did forget about him. Though his "switching sides" is a little gray considering he's a mercenary anyway. It's not like having a real main character from a faction change allegiances in game terms. Something like a Khadoran warcaster taking the old faith and becoming a warcaster for the Protectorate of Menoth.

So, I'm going to agree that PP has a problem with committing their IP to significant change. No one has died. No one has changed sides. No one has been significantly altered, other than to become more powerful.
Adding, changing, and removing what are essentially bi characters doesn't really add much to the storyline. We've all read those books/series where we know the main characters can't/won't be killed, and to me they get tedious.

Why do you care if they are playable characters or not? If we are just talking about the fluff it should be completely irrelevant if you can play with those characters or not.
Also eMagnus is considered to be an actual Skorne Warcaster so it is a bit different than all other Mercenary Warcasters.

Vinter's storyline has led to the original invasion of Cygnar by Skorne and the later change in target when Makeda decided to focus on the elves instead. Now, if the rumours are correct, the rest of his story might lead to the death of King Leto or even the Khadoran Empress causing major upheavals in both faction's storylines.
Voyle's death had severe consequences on the development of the Protectorate and it ultimately led to the invasion of Khador. This led King Leto and the Khadoran Empress to realise that they had more common enemies and is shaping up to result in a Cygnar / Khador alliance versus Menoth and Cryx.
Pyromalphic's death and the consumption of its athanc by Everblight has had the side effect of revealing Everblight to Cryx and to the rest of the dragons, again causing major shifts in the fluff...
Those are all some of the major fluff developments that originated from the death's / changes in those characters. How can you possibly say that they haven't changed the storyline that much?
Minion Caster [Skorne] just means he can be taken as a second caster in Skorne for 2 casters games. Which is effectively never. He isn't a Skorne Warcaster in the sense of leading a single caster Skorne force.
Wow, um... damn, now i feel bad for speaking out I was just worried if PP had what it takes to pull off a good time travel storyline, best case the''re not actually doing it and these are just some weird magical echoes/spirits.

Damn straight! Loved the premise for the setting, think it's one of the most enjoyable RPG settings I've ever played or run, but they can't make a compelling story to save their lives. Their story started out fun and kind of silly and pulpyand got progressively more serious and more stupid the more epic they tried to make it (without violating model plot armor), and there's basically no way to play their campaigns (at least the 3.5 stuff) without being the most do-goodin'-est party.

And females in real militaries do tend to just wear the same armor as the males. Boobplate is a fiction exclusive concept and its hard to argue it isn''t objectifying.

You mean the 14 years out of date version?
I have to disagree greatly though with people taking about problems with the story. As far as non-RPG, tabletop games go it is head and shoulders above anything else on the market imo.
I wish they would occasionally kill off characters with models because otherwise there's no tension in the stories where they're fighting each other, and so much less so when they're fighting some no-model guy. Unless they're someone who can be ressurected, then they're almost sure to die. Denny and Terminus, Harbinger, hell Kallus died in his introductory story.

A No they don't where the same armor in modern militaries (At least in the US) and what a small number of women wore in historical times where armor wasn't designed with them in mind is irrelevant.
B As far as objectifying, please keep your judgmental moralizing about aesthetic choices out of the N&R thread.

Yeah, I do mean the old one. Being railroaded isn't based on a current rules set.
And no, I wouldn't say a self-defeating narrative is head and shoulders above any other system. Malifaux (as an example) is starting to get a little formulaic, but is still way less boring than the "big fight describing in-game rules and maybe killing off a non-statted or immortal/resurrecting character" trash that made me stop wasting money on PP's books.

I tried to find if historical descriptions of war goddesses wore 'boobplates', though they were obviously works of fiction as well, depictions of the deities tended to mirror what real soldiers wore.
This image of Pallas Athene has which looks like some sort of small breastplate, though it may just be a thick vest. This Asiatic depiction of Minerva shows her wearing feminine kind of scale armour. Most depictions had no armour at all.
Although Minerva and Athene nearly always had helmets, shields and spears, their clothing otherwise was quite feminine and not very warlike.

So really all that establishes is that men always portrayed fictional fighting women in impractical armor since the dawn of time? I mean it's not like historically there have been that many women that fought regularly on the front lines.
Female martial orders weren't unheard of, even during the height of the middle ages. They certainly weren't common, but they existed and weren't considered super odd.
Norse, Japanese, Chinese, and Celtic cultures were full of women fighters. Women were fully expected to defend their homes and families. And many even went off to war actively.

She can take souls from models in her command range and put them on herself.
She can spend 1 soul to cast a cost 3 spell for free.
She can spend 1 soul to allocate 3 focus to a jack for free in her command range.
Def stats are same as stryker3/gaspy1.
Confirmed spells; gravewind, mortality, scourge, ghost walk
Feat is indeed she gains 7 souls. There doesn't seem to be a limit on how many times she can use the cast/allocate for souls abilities.. so yeah.
Focus stat is denny's usual.

Denny 3 does look awesome - I wonder if that counts as a battle-engine-based warcaster or a collosal-based?
I wish they'd redo Denny 2 (and 1 for that matter) to match.
The brute thrall is nice too.
*** Undercity looks fun - but is a bit disappointing in terms of sooo many repeat sculpts. They couldn't at least do 2 variants of the guy with the knife? All 10 are the same.
Also - looks like they redid the Storm Lances as resin/metal hybrid kit. Making them a bit cheaper to collect, but not a lot. ($85 vs. $100). I don't see the point in the stopgap - cavalry is the thing they make most in need of a big price drop.
Denny3 is the single ugliest thing I've seen come from PP in years. It's *technically* well done, and I know there are people out there who like the design (obviously, or it wouldn't exist), but I can't recall a time in recent memory that I've been so immediately put off by a miniature sculpt.
Super Warmachine Undercity Explore looks pretty cool, though.
I got excited for a minute thinking I could get myself a miniature version of Vi from League of Legends, but the brute thrall doesn't quite cut it, being nearly naked and also apparently a zombie. Still cool-looking I guess.
Anyway, you really think Denny3 is the ugliest? There are things I don't like about it but I wouldn't say it was that bad.
I already know how I want to convert that Denny3 model if I can find some feathered wings of that size to go on it.
No mention of Hal3y's rules yet? Let's see what I can remember...
Prime Haley;
-Focus 8
-Reiteration, an ability that lets her cast one of past's or future's spells for free.
-Temporal Flux, a defense buff of some sort. Unknown if it's a spell or inherent.
-Domination spell
-Tactical Supremency spell
-Spend 2 Focus each to summon past and/or present Haley. Can't activate the turn they are summoned. Spend 2 Focus each to "upkeep" past and/or future Haley.
-Feat, all Haleys gain 2 Focus stat and 2 Focus.
Past Haley;
-Focus 4
-Chain Blast spell
-Raw Talent, all her spells gain an additional dice on damage.
Future Haley;
-Focus 4
-Revive spell
-Phase Bolt, sounds to be a gun that can ignore stealth
Past and Future can allocate to Prime's Warjacks. Unknown if they can Arc thru them.

Not a fan of the new deneghra concept. Goes in the "awkward cartoon" pile. The alt brute is pretty fun. If it has a reasonable price, I'd probably pick one up.
Vlad list is boring. I find those cut & paste "take one type of thing, take multiple to move faster or w/e the first turn" a waste of space when there have been some really fun ones like Bad Seeds or Zerkova's Vanguard one. Also, his older list was better IMHO.
I really, really want to like the SH character. It's been quite some time since they got something other than their warcaster (and I'm more interested in the module under other warcasters). But, he seems really meh. His only ability that doesn't affect him or a very small bubble is defensive line, which SH's don't particularly benefit from, since things going after any of the single-wounds will kill them anyway (and one of their better defenses is spreading out), while you're expecting disproportionate force against cav anyway since they're so threatening. Thoughts to the contrary?

It sounds like it's a convention exclusive, specifically Lock and Load in Seattle this June. In the past, PP has made con exclusive minis available on their webstore for the duration of said convention, but who knows if they'll do that this time around.
The main utility that I see in the new SH character is his tough bubble. It hurts that it is friendly Faction and not just friendly. Can Mercs now be tougher than trolls?
I am pretty happy for that new Steelhead character. I haven't busted out my mercs for a long time, but I really liked Halbs for a jam unit, and getting a fairly hard hitting solo to go with it nice. Plus tough and extra armor on the cav after they smash a jack is pretty cool. I dunno, seems fun so far!

With Boomhowler, Gorten, and the pirates, yeah, it's really never been that hard to outclass troll tough, outside of their insane multiwound infantry.
Holy crap that eZerkova is incredible. I've always loved Zerkova (character wise not gameplay wise). I love the casters from Khador actually, just the rest of the faction doesn't live up to them.

highlord tamburlaine wrote: Those Orgoth dudes are pretty swanky looking. They look familiar though. Was there similar artwork released at some point?
Forgive my ignorance, but I thought in the fiction the Orgoth were all gone from the world, right?
Are they actual Orgoth, or just wearing Orgoth armor? Either way they look cool.
The Orgoth were actually humans. They were just from another continent across the ocean to the west. Its believed that the plague spread to the Orgoth homeland and killed them all, due to the fact no more Orgoth have been seen coming back since that time. But its not a sure thing. All that is known is all the Orgoth who were in Immorean either fled, died of the plague, or were killed. The only bastion of Orgoth who survived was a small fortress in the Sharde isles, the descendents of those Orgoth are the Warwitch Sirens employed by Cryx. And their blood is mixed with Sharde islanders.
While its believed they all died of a plague, they left behind many relics. Including many weapons, like Fellblades or the staves the Grey Lords use to control the Doomreavers. Khador is the only nation that approves of meddling with Orgoth equipment and openly engages in it.
Most of Khador's Fellblades come from a single stockpile found under one of the fortresses in Khador a long time after the occupation. A few others have been found in other areas, and they're always keen to acquire any that are found elsewhere.
Warwitchs aren't Orgoth decendents, they're just humans using some of the Orgoth's Magic techniques. All the Orgoth left were wiped out when they self destructed their island during Cryx's invasion of it.
Most of Khador's Fellblades come from a single stockpile found under one of the fortresses in Khador a long time after the occupation. A few others have been found in other areas, and they're always keen to acquire any that are found elsewhere.
The Greylords actually worked out how to create the Fellblades so they make their own too.

Seems a bit...extreme, but such is our hobby at times!
I still think there's got to be some model out there somewhere that would work in a 'counts as' role - certainly if playing your favorite faction hinges upon it!

The store I play in is fine as well, no butts hurt what so ever, it's less typical than you think.
Oh, I understand it's less typical, I'm not painting the whole community like that, one guy told me I could make a charge and kill his caster and reminded me harkevich has pathfinded. And I killed his caster and won my first game. But the community as a whole is very waac/tfg and uncompromising to new players here.
but, I'll try it again over the summer and see if I like it.

I won my first game as well and was quickly rushed into 50 point games where my opponents became relentless.. It made me a much better player but was very harsh and almost made me quit, I noticed a lot of vets don't have the patience to teach new players and hold back a little bit, your local Press Ganger (if you have one) should be your best resource.
After each game I lose I always talk to my opponent about why I lost and we discuss the strategies I could have used and such. I've found the WM players to be a bit more serious but just as friendly.
My last game I got stomped by a colossal and he told me what I could have done to beat it and said "next week I'll bring it again and we'll try out a new strategy. Sound good?"
It'll be harsh a first and you'll lose a lot of games, but once you start 'getting it' it becomes so much better.
Its easy to confuse WAAC with a healthy competitive attitude. Most wmh players are perfectly fine people, its just some 40k players, especially the casual ones, bring their preconceptions of attitude into wmh and it gives them the wrong impression.

I think it's this, WMH can be very unforgiving to mistakes made. The way I see it, I can not take advantage of the caster kill my opponent gave me on turn 2 for purposes of a "fun" game. Or I can take the caster kill and explain why he shouldn't have done that. I choose the latter, because I believe that's what WMH is about, if that's not for someone that's cool.
When I first started playing WMH I almost quit because I was getting crushed over and over and over (I was even carrying over good 40k habits that are bad ones for WMH), eventually though I learned and now I'm sort of mediocre
I'm hoping this level of quality applies to the local players in my area. I'd like to play some more official type games when I've got a chance to this summer.
The ones I've met in my area have been... interesting.
I'm fully expecting to lose, but as long as I lose fabulously I could care less.
Hopefully those new Skorne bugs will be out by then and I can knock over my opponents figures every time they try to get in base to base with them.
I remember my early days back in MKI when I lost I was like WTF just happened? Sometimes that still happens lol especially against a caster I have not faced before!

A new collossal at the very least. I'd assumed we get more as well, but you know what they say about assuming...
I noticed that the one of the newer high command expansions had a never before seen caster, I'm assuming the he would be in Reckoning. Then again I also thought there would have been some leaks by now.
Why wouldn't it be in the book? As long as they have stats/rules ready, they can always release it and have people wait 1-2 years for the model like they did for the TEP...
Sining wrote: Why wouldn't it be in the book? As long as they have stats/rules ready, they can always release it and have people wait 1-2 years for the model like they did for the TEP...
Lol yeah, but don't worry Cygnar will get their new models before the book even drops!
I did talk to a friend of mine a little while ago who has been playing a lot longer than me, he mentioned that when Convergence came out they stated they would not be in the normal rotation and wouldn't be getting much new stuff ever.
Yeah. That was said but if they're coming out with a new colossal, I guess it makes sense to release the rules with the other new colossals? And then maybe throw in a new caster and unit that can actually make use of the colossals boost to electric damage?
I imagine the new Convergence Colossal will be in Reckoning, but whether they get anything else we don't know yet. Part of what puts me off Convergence is their release schedule. I like having things to look forward to each book.
@Sining to be fair the TEP took so long because it's in hard plastic, so I think it was probably worth the wait.
AduroT wrote: I've heard their new Colossal Might Not be in this book, but rather a NQ release at some point. They do definitely have one coming though.
That would be strange. They previewed the CoC Colossal at the same time as they did everyone else's and it was all prefaced with the Warmachine: Reckoning logo so I don't think that it would make much sense to separate the releases like that.

I would even ask you to grab one for me if she is there, but considering that the last time that I ordered something from the US it took 3+ months to clear customs and ended up costing me 3 times as much, I think I'll wait...
Couldn't you use her temporal time shenanigans to get her now?
Or you could freeze yourself and get someone to thaw you out when she's released?
Unfortunately (or fortunately, since I would just use them for evil), I possess no chronomantic powers of my own and Haley stopped talking to me the last time that I managed to get her killed by Goreshade...
Huge number of spoiled models. When I get to a computer I'll toss them up. Some look amazing, some are exciting links to the skull island books, just exciting stuff
Argh - frustrating. The traffic has brought the PP main page to it's knees. So I can't look at all the new prettys (aside from two absolutely awesome looking new Warcasters someone posted in their forums).
Meat Thresher is also up, but that page is down, the Steelhead character, and the Retribution caster from Reckoning: Took me ages to be able to get on the website, ridiculous really. I can get on the homepage atm but if I try go anywhere else it just says ' cannot process raw data'.
I love eZaal, fantastic model. Thyron is cool too, as are the new solos. And we've seen the Meat Thresher before, still looks cool, and I'm pretty sure they said its in HIPS too.
Retribution continues to become more and more anime with that Thyron there. It will also mark the first time I buy a Retribution model because of that. Dude looks pretty stellar.
Savio's arms look really long. Is it just me? I get he's got the glaives, but he seems to have gorilla arms.
Kinda wish Zaal was even bigger- like towering over things on a large base. Crush them all with his giant stone hands.
No sign of Kromac with his shiny new axe?
Plastic meat threshers might be having a chance encounter with my Skaven to see what sort of contraptions we can really put together with all those parts.
To both me and another bloke at my local store, the Ret caster is giving us major wood elf vibes. Specifically that fantastic Highborn model with the great sword. Is anyone else feeling it?
For some reason I just can't shake the similarity. And since I love that Wood Elf model, I love this new Ret guy as well. Depending on his playstyle, he may be enough to get me into Angry Elves.
I dunno, maybe me and the other guy are crazy. We just saw that Ret model and both instantly identified that wood elf model as what we first thought of. And then spent a minute or two praising both models. He already has a solid ret army though, so he can just slot him into it. Lucky so and so.

I get it now you've pointed it out. The colours help too, his bronze armour is quite autumnal.
Barzam wrote: Thyron is pretty cool looking. Leave it to the elves to have some of the coolest sci-fi stuff in this line.
Well they are the most advanced nation - its just that most of their tech isn't useful on the tabletop. I.e. their jacks run on solar/ambient energy which means their logistics are much simpler because they don't need coal (its also better for the environment, which matters even less).
My immediate thought when I saw him was that he looks like a model from Infinity - very anime inspired with a very alien/insect feel. The main thing I am interested to see is a picture of him with something else to get a sense of scale - he is standing full width on a 40mm base which means he absolutely massive for an elf - I suspect he is going to stand taller than Butcher.

Should find out something about Durst on Friday if all works as planned. I am also excited about him
Thyron is a bad bad man. Grants Cleave, feat gives boosted attacks and Side Step, and has a mean spell list including a spell giving +2 str, mat, and arm if I understand it correctly.
very cool place to go for Ret.

If that 10th anniversary box gives the world an EXTREME Kromac, I may have to start hoarding a circle army.
Just sold off a Kromac I had painted, and kind of regretted it. He's a cool looking dude. Give me a new one with a giant headdress.
In fact, I'd love to see 10th anniversary sculpts of a lot of older warcasters, kind of like they did with Goreshade. Dude went from zero to hero in terms of figure quality.
Chute82 wrote: Thyron looks like he can put some hurt on a caster with that sword.
POW15 Reach Weaponmaster at MAT9 (with Storm Rager) so yeah he is right up there in terms of personal damage output. Not quite as hard hitting as B3, but he has similar threat ranges on feat turn (better base SPD + Sidestep, you just lose the extra distance from Impending) and basically can't miss with MAT9 3D6. No Grevious Wounds but he can get Blessed. He is also hard to kill than Butcher once he puts Storm Rager up - DEF17 ARM16 against shooting means he isn't terrified of Ravagores even with no camp/buffs (at full camp with Storm Rager he is almost untouchable).

Spoilers from people at L&L. No pics but several sources agreeing, and the one post someone did as a full summary got edited by mods to reduce the detail (which is usually a good sign).
For reference:
Speed as Houseguard
FOC = SPD Mat as MHA
Def as MHA
ARM as Chimera
Sword: POW as Griffon, Weaponmaster and Reach
Field Marshall: Cleave
Blade Shield
Riposte
Spells:
Storm Rager
Assail
Ground Zero
Onslaught
Spell Piercer
Feat is the one spoiled a while ago - additional dice to hit with melee attack rolls and Sidestep (its also a pulse, not a while within).
So against ranged attacks he ties Vyros2 for the best defensive stats in the game - with Storm Rager up he jumps ahead. He hits almost as hard as Butcher. Cleave gives great efficiency for his battlegroup. Storm Rager in general is absolutely amazing in Ret with all the powerful combat solos. Onslaught solves a long standing issue in Ret with Pathfinder and opens up options for our melee infantry. Spell Piercer is somewhat situational, but means at worse Ret infantry are dealing with a level playing field.

That's WM/H communities for you. We had my old club clapping when the first week occurred in which there was more WM being played than 40k. I left that place soon after
That's only due to GW being the "Evil Empire" that only cares about $$$ and PP is seen as the "New upcoming upstart" that cares about their fans. In reality they a more similar than not.

Well, I was thinking about getting the Privateer webstore exclusive alternate Haley, but after seeing her new model, there's no reason I couldn't just use past/present Haley for her, that model set is seriously sweet. I'm really liking that Saeryn and Rhyas, too! I'm rather happy I ultimately decided to go Cygnar and Legion.

It will be yeah, this could still be a prototype. We'd seen the Reliant at cons for a little bit before it was released, as a prototype I think.
It's not likely a prototype, but the finished model. Models only get to the painters as finished product to paint for things like box art, and solicitation.

The Meat Thresher that was in the NQ a few months ago was a prototype, that was painted, pretty sure the same for the Reliant that was shown at cons a few months ago too.

Actually from what I've seen the PP painters frequently get proto types to do the studio models.
That headgear looks like it could totally get in the way when trying to swing that axe, though.
Only if you try to swing downward. Kromac has mastered the art of the horizontal and rising cuts. Also extra note, he's on a large base now, up from his old medium.
I didn't realize Kromac is on a large base now. So he's the size of a heavy jack? Fun!
I wonder if they made sure to keep the axe the same size it was when Madrak was wielding it, or if the axe somehow grew to accommodate its giant new owner.
Man, the Reckoning releases are really hitting the spot for me. Revelator, Hand of Judgement and Purifier are all very solid, and far more interesting than the normal no-frills menoth jack fare (Reckoner excluded).
While Anson Durst looks awesome, I suspect the caster who's going to be getting the most extra play time from Reckoning will be eFeora, with those lovely lovely new toys she'll have in her battlegroup.

It's probably a fake Rathrok that Jarl tricked Kromac into thinking it's the real one. After all, he doesn't get the cool thrown version, or the rule where it kills other guys near by instead when Madrak dies.

When you say "Prototype" I think you might mean to say "unfinished model".
When a sculpt comes in (3D or traditional) they make an RTV mold of it and use resin castings for painting and manufacturing.
It's the resin castings that get sent up stairs to the painters, the models themselves are finished and complete.
Unfinished, or incomplete sculpts, wouldn't be finished like that.
They wouldn't waste the time (and a lot of money) to paint one model, only to have to paint it again for box art, magazines etc. let alone a whole new set of molds and masters for production.
You'll probably have to wait a few days, but there is always a thread on the PP general discussion forum talking about the fluff when a new book gets released. There is usually a synopsis for those who haven't read it yet.
I love the stuff from Reckoning.
But as a Convergence player I feel like a kid with no presents on Christmas watching all the other kids opening theirs.
(Good thing I have growing Khador and Merc armies on the side.)
Yeah they did, but then there was a mix up with them saying the Prime Conflux would be in the book and it's not so that would've got people's hopes up.

I'm not talking about just the newest books - but for ALL of the books!
I haven't look at WM/H in a bit of time now, but as I am at this moment, these new kits are looking quite impressive. PP seems to be improving consistently with their kit productions. Perhaps it's time I got back to thinking about that Convergence army!

If you are looking at Convergence, you might be able to find a good deal over in the Dakka Swap Shop.
There isn't really any wikis like that as far as I know. The fiction seems pretty much confined to the books. As much as I like an evolving storyline, it does make it a bit of a pig to catch up with it all.
I'd be curious about a summary as well. I've followed the game on and off for the last few years, but I don't usually buy the big books (rather just the figures that I like) and so I'm not super up on the fluff.
I know everyone over the Trolls, and Skorne invaded from the East, Everblight is off snatching up dragon parts and being obnoxious (stealing ansac or something?), and Menoth are trolling the Cygnarians and getting all up in their lands and bidniss.
I've been into the game for about a year now and I barely know what's happening haha. I know a fair bit about the history of the races but nothing about what's happening now!

...Umm, actually, yeah. Unless I run into a hard counter of a ton of armor (since for some reason, ol' mags doesn't want to field the warjack he commissioned or w/e), I've had a very high win record with the list. Actually, even against a ton of heavy armor I've done well, it's just an uphill battle.
I don't play stupid themes. Bad Seeds has flaws, but is 100% playable without gimping yourself for fluff (or, I guess, random fun-looking models).

My statement had nothing to do with how you or any other non-me person plays the list outside of events.
It was a statement that referred specifically to how I build lists and sometimes I like playing off the wall ideas even if I know they're not the best choices.
Okay. You can play all the "this is stupid" lists you want.
Your winky face implied some sort of assumption or statement that one should expect the list not be played seriously, or, well, something other than "Wa-hay! I play silly things that don't necessarily function!"
I'm not going to waste my time or money painting or buying something that functions poorly.
Eh, fair 'nuff. IDK, I play 40k when having fun and WM when wanting to throw down, so I don't go in with the mentality of doing silly stuff (though I do like any of the decent theme lists as a limiting factor).

Those Everblight ladies look interesting as a warlock unit. I like the quirkier offbeat warcasters.
I still wonder with the twins what kind of shenanigans I can get up to with Zuriel, since he gets stealth through one and can be used to channel with the other.
Zoom him across the board all stealthy, let Saeryn send something through him to soften his target, and then let him start slicing and dicing whatever he needs to.

Yeah I imagine he's a pretty good call in a list with the twins. He's good anyway but getting both of his affinities can only be good.

It'll make probably either be PVC or HIPS if it's plastic, what other plastics are there that models are made of? The preview model was the rapid prototype which is always the same plastic, no matter the final model I believe.

There's also ABS (LEGO plastic). Wrath of Kings models are partially ABS (probably an ABS/PVC mix, really) and some recasters use it with good results. It's firmer and holds an edge better than PVC types, but can't be heat-bent.

Is that on a sprue, or does it come like PVC models?
My complaint for the Soul Trappers is the blister coming with two identical models, for something that a lot of people will want a full three blisters of. I think they definitely should have put two unique poses in there.
Denny3 being HIPS plastic seems weird because of how fast she's coming out. We've not seen most of the new Warjack kits from the book from last year reportedly because they're being made in the new HIPS, so for Denny to be coming out already from this book feels wrong and makes me doubt she's in the same stuff.

I honestly can't tell from the parts I have. Seems to have more in common with injection molding than spin casting, but I'm no expert.

That's a pretty nifty animus on that beast. That's the kind of thing that can catch you unawares if you're not careful with disastrous effect. Freeze on it's fists is also pretty awesome. ROF 3 at mat 3 with thunderbolt, yeah that's useful for messing up attack runs, and the crit effect is something to be wary of.
Oh neat! That feels a bit like the gator battle engine area denial effect, except 3" out... pretty sweet. I like that one quite a bit better than the mountain king. Given that trolls have knockdown possibilities (like eGrissel's gun) and the Impaler animus (+4" range) that is one scary gun, too -- 3 guaranteed shots with 16" range after the animus at POW 14, and boostable.
Basically feels like what the Mountain King should have been. Too late for me since I moved on from trolls, but still love it (and not overpowered or auto-include level, either, which is good)
Edit: Whoa, he's got a few interesting special rules, too. Pushing the enemy model d3" away with each ranged hit could be a bummer for keeping it in range for all the shots (but very nice for pushing another scary beast back a bit, several times even). And providing concealment to friendly models within 3"... that's really good, although was already previously provided by the Stone Scribe Chronicler.
