Hi all just letting you all know but since the unbound FB group got deleted, there is another group now online which is totally independent if anyone was interested:
Just to keep folks updated, that's my Flash/Arrow book, plus Gambit (And my 2 Deadshots, d'oh again), turned up from Wayland Games, shipped to the UK by free delivery.
I don't know if they'll do *all* the Teen Titans, but there's definitely a list of them in the book for squad building purposes. This includes Wonder Girl, Superboy and Supergirl.
Right now, though, the released models include.
Nightwing, Cyborg, Damien Wayne, Kid Flash, Jason Todd, Ravager, Tim Drake, Roy Harper and Starfire.
So, yeah, come to think of it, that's a pretty substantial list of things done already...
Flash does not get a crew. Flash is only now allowed in the game, with a whole new set of rules for the super fast characters like himself, but he must be taken in a Batman crew. Kid Flash is also set to be released; he can be used with Batman, Green Arrow, Law Forces, or Teen Titans.

Are they going to do all the "Teen Titans" ?
I would love to get them for my kids and paint them up.
Depends on which version you're looking for. There is a good, long list of Teen Titans, many of which are not yet released models. Curiously absent from the Teen Titans list is Beast Boy though.
I figure the next book, aside from Constantine & magic, could include a JLA under the team rules.
We already have Bats, Arrow, Flash, Cyborg and the Hawks which is a strong team as it is.
Really just need Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, a Lantern and Supes (ugh) for the traditional roster. Tying it to legend points could limit it from being too horribly overmatched compared to Dent & some thugs.. maybe.
And if Rebirth brings back the retired geezer version of the JSA that could work out too

Honestly, I'd love to see those models, but they definitely bit better in the presumably forthcoming DC equivalent of the hero-focused Marvel game, I think we've got the nes that work in BMG but the others really wouldn't. Lantern would work much better under the other system's more interactive rule, while WW, MM and Supes are just to powerful (Superboy is fine as he only has half the powers and not the particularly nasty ones like flight or heat vision, Supergirl I'm a bit more iffy on including actually, she's functionally equivalent to Supes really).
Superman himself would either have to be horrifically depowered or game-breakingly expensive and only slightly depowered. /Cyborg works as his powers boil down to being tough and having a big gun, Flash works as sure, he can Run Real Fast but if a stray bullet catches him or you can land a hit with someone like Bane or Ra's, he's hurting from it and much less of a threat. Supes/WW/MM on the other hand would be able to be anywhere on the board they liked, be dishing out 3 Damage per hit on Strength 2+, impervious to any kind of damage, and able to drop most enemies in a single round... It just doesn't work, I don't think.
Perhaps the N52 version of the JLA (as opposed to the JL) could work, they're significantly less powerful/complicated. Arrow, Hawkman, Katana, Catwoman we already have, Vibe would be easy enough to add... MM, Stargirl and Guy Gardener GL might be harder to put in, but you'd defintely have enough for a team there.
I dunno, I think I'll give it a skip, I'm always a bit more inclined to the idea of Batman helping out a bunch of police than "The Dark Knight Returns" concept of the Sons of Batman.
I was just saying the other day that a Carrie/Sons of Batman set would make a nice release, but that... pass, I think. Doesn't really suit or evoke the grim, gritty, rough look The Dark Knight Returns is famous for, they look more like BTAS style minis really. Shame, as I really wanted Carrie so I had the full house of Robins. Might have to see about converting one now, and just use those rules.
I would be surprised anytime soon. He's not listed on the teen titans page. Though, they do make surprises quite often.
I'm going to be a little disappointed if Grodd is a single blister and not a band. Though, I'm also surprised by the idea of three big blisters in one month (sons of batman, joker bots, and maybe Grodd).
Hmm, massive expansion for Mutants (my chosen Marvel faction) and Grodd... this might add a good chunk to the wishlist if those are all good.
Grodd being a crew to himself, I'd be surprised if he's released solo, I'm hoping for a crew set, maybe 3 models rather than 4 as I imagine the Apes will be rather beefy models.
Did we really need another Joker? I'm wondering what style this new one will be in, Dark Knight Returns maybe?
Having a thought here, if the Frank Miller Green Arrow is in fact the DKR version (I don't know if Miller every did any actual GA comics), does this mean he'll
Spoiler:
only have one arm? I look forward to seeing how the rules for him pan out...
Yeah I think the Joker and robotic dolls refers to The Dark Knight Returns as well.
Assuming they're not going for Phoenix level Jean Grey and just a normal one. The Jean Grey outfit I have in Marvel Heroes is pretty badass. It's like a movie Jean Grey costume with added "Matrix" style trenchcoat.
DKR Ollie is on the KM Facebook page, one arm here we come! Also of note is the model has a Kryptonite arrow, useful against models that aren't out yet. Supergirl and Superboy are confirmed as of the last book, but can my dreams come true with the big blue boy scout?

Here he is!
I'm actually really liking all the DKR models so far!
Rules are up for the new Green Arrow. Looks like a pretty solid archer-type.
Also, pre-orders are up at Element and a couple spots. Includes Sons of Batman, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Joker and Robotic Dolls, new Green Arrow and Hulk. No Brotherhood or Grodd as leaked earlier.
Is it just me, or is that Ollie crazy good for 75 Rep? His stat block is good and he has some great special rules, his bow is (for some reason) better than any other bow in the game (all the others do 2 Blood) and the thing that should hold him back, the one-armed rule, is just a -1 to Defence rolls...
On paper, he looks very good indeed, I can't think of many characters in the same Rep range that offer as much.
4/6 for me this month, Jean is awesome, Emma is good, Arrow is neat and I've always liked the Hulk model. Not a fan of that Joker set or the Sons of Batman though.
DKR Ollie has kryptonite listed yet no book mentions it. The flarrow book that just came out doesn't have anything about it in. So already they've made a new thing that needs clarification after releasing a book that could easily have had it in
Awesome stuff indeed but I'm quite dissapointed in Jokers Rules.. Thought he would have had desensitized, after all he did get a batarang lodged in his eye and carried on like the murderous happy Larry he is..
Just a heads up, even though most online stores like Miniature Market and Warstore have Nightcrawler and company as "preorder" status, they are in. I just got Nightcrawler from a guy on eBay. I think he has a few left. He's selling him for $17 and change, free shipping. That's the seller you want (if you're in USA). He's got him at a fair price and actually in stock.
It looks good but shows km awful release schedule. Alt avengers and were still without bad guys. Wont matter what they release if they don't get their $%£& together as people are already bored
Pretty sure we have the Brotherhood of Mutants coming this month as them and Grodd were the only things on the leaked release list that aren't out yet, I wouldn't be surprised if we see another selection of Villains as well. And there's no word yet that the Hulkbuster will be released immediately, though yeah, it probably will be.
Definitely glad I didn't get the other Flash, this one is much cooler, and that Reverse Flash model is just perfect!
Interesting choice of characters for the Brotherhood, I was expecting Mytique (I've never actually heard of this Lady Mastermind). I'll probably still get the set, though, and I'm so pleased Magneto turned out to be a) a total badass and b) Neutral, so I can use him alongside the X-men.
Diggle is cool, and that Hulkbuster is a thing of (very expensive) beauty!
Knight models have said the brotherhood set isn't a starter and will NOT include a rulebook. So the faq they mentioned about new sets getting the updated rules was a load of crap and knight have kopped out on it. Talk about an ass move. Clearly the set is exactly like the others but its all bs.
If you were waiting for evil factions to start this game km says screw you as you still need to spend another £30 on the original starters
Glad to see Magneto is neutral. I don't remember if Wolverine is...trying to figure out if I could one day have a Weapon X team. I'm only one model short, currently, once this team comes out. I might actually send them a letter. I like the idea of having actual X-teams for my roster.
Isn't deadpool also neutral? I had to go on a business trip for the evening, so I didn't bring the character cards with me, but I'm pretty sure he is neutral as well. Also avengers usable
That seems like a wicked oversight. While I realize that gambit has his dark past, he is far less likely to be on the neutral side then Deadpool.
Whatever, I don't expect to be doing tournaments with these things for at least a few years now, depending on if they ever get off the ground anyway, so it'll most likely be friendly games. I'm sure I can talk my buddy who's getting into it with me to allow for a wolverine, sabertooth, Deadpool team up.
As I already mentioned, I'm probably going to email night models to see about a maverick many as well, since were three quarters of the way to a weapon X team. I'm probably also going to suggest cable, Archangel and psylocke, for possible X-force teams as well

Already been talked about on various knight forums and facebook about characters we'd like to see. Waste of time messaging them as they follow no pattern. I've been asking for a Cable model for over 2 years and still waiting. Now that marvel has a game they will get round to him but not anytime soon. Its clear they are focusing on the main characters from the stuff available. Further down the line no doubt they'll get to other teams like x force, new avengers etc but its a waiting game when it comes to knight, ascan example Mr freeze still has no gang in batman game.
I'm hoping cable will be in a x force box. Say cable, forge, psylocke and domino with archangel as the extra blister. That's what I hope for anyway but who knows
Should help people looking to start out with Brotherhood or put a team together from singles/old releases. Haven't checked to see if it includes the scenarios, but it's a start in any case.
Thanks for sharing. Now that the rules are readily available it'll be hard not to borrow a few of those heroclix I bought my daughter last Xmas in her superhero phase and give the game a whirl.
My solo Magneto arrives in the mail today. I think I got the last damn one in the US, from CMoN's site. Can't even find the bastard on eBay. I also have the villain team, Sabertooth, Jean and White Queen on order from my game store. Oh, and an additional WQ on order to represent her in Diamond Form. Screw tokens. I play this for realz!!
One Magneto in classic colors for villain team, one in his Marvel Now white X-Men costume.
If the next two X-men released are Archangel and Psylocke, my wallet will weep, as that will cause me to buy 5 models: 2 of each of them, and a second Nightcrawler (5 man X-Force team). Wolverine and Deadpool are already done in X-F colors.
Alrighty, here's the parts pics after they've had their water bath.
And, the Hulkbuster. - Note the alternate fists, closed fist and open fist. And note the size of its leg compared to Lady Mastermind. Or Sabertooth compared to Reverse Flash.
Fair. I had a light chip in Gambit's cloak, but I've sealed every model. Finall have a carrying case for them too. A nice and secure one with some material snagged from work!
Super jealous that you have the full Brotherhood. My game store hasn't gotten confirmation yet of a distributor, and I'm trying to give him the business for the brotherhood. However, I got my Magneto figure in, and I've sculpted his additional parts, so I'm gonna go plug a sculpt picture in the main KM thread right now.
How is taking a vacation bad for business? they're a small company that releases 3+ models a month at LEAST with a very large IP that needs pre-approval at every step. It's a massive undertaking, they can't take a holiday?
I'm not sure why everything KM does bothers you so much. Going through your posts on here seems unnecessarily negative on every one.
And by small company, we're probably talking around 6 people or less. At that sort of level, effectively shutting the office is probably an efficient thing to do, rather than going through a long period of disruption when everyone is out at different periods.
Plus, it's not like the games are in a poor state now anyway. The Arrow faction just got fleshed out in a big way for Batman. The Brotherhood, a whole new Marvel faction, just came out and already has enough models for a tournament game.
It's as good a time as any.
And it's not like them going on holiday suddenly bans every store on the planet from selling their models for a month.
Hmm... I wonder if this might be an actual 2-faction starter set, since it says 'game box'... Which would definitely be something I'd be interested in! Good to see them getting a tie-in out relatively close to the release, though, that bodes well and should hopefully expand the audience a little if they can strike while the iron is hot.
Wrong Joker quote, though, I can't believe they chose that over 'I can't wait to show you my toys!' to advertise minis... though in the context of wallets, the one they went with works well enough!
Hopefully Slipknot will be really cheap, and come with a special rule that lets you keep him off table unitl...
one of your more interesting characters might get hurt, then slipknot is brought onto the table, takes the damage instead and is then removed as a casualty
I'm thinking "Game Box" is just going to mean a larger than single/double model box.
After the Brotherhood of Mutants was not a "Starter Set," and did not come with a rulebook for Marvel, I'm betting they are sour on using the word starter.
Licensing being what it is, I doubt WB/DC would be happy with Knight releasing non-movie sculpts in a movie-branded box, especially in the case of Harley, Deadshot and Boomerang and Croc who have very different designs to the existing models. To be honest, I hope it is all new stuff as I already have Harley and just bought Deadshot a month ago, so I don't want to double up on sculpts.
My guess is that this (if it's not just a 4-model starter under a different name) will either be a 2-faction double starter with the Squad vs the movie's villain, which does lend itself quite nicely to a crew set/expansion blister with
Spoiler:
Enchantress and 3 monster guys in the set and Incubus as the blister
Or it'll be something like the whole squad in a box. Harley, Deadshot, Diablo, Boomerang, Slipknot (ha!), Croc, Katana and Flagg... that'd be a lot of new sculpts, but on the other hand if it's their only release this month then it's doable.
I just hope if they are new sculpts they don't end up like the Dark Knight licensed ones, with massive heads, presumably to ensure likenesses (Ra's stands about 4-5mm taller than the comic version, he's as tall as AK Bats including the Tactical Gargoyle).
Those are just stunning, fantastic models and a great choice of team. The rules look solid too, some very heavy hitters there and the only surprise is that Sentry isn't Neutral, as he has been an Avenger fairly often.
Its interesting that the Fantastic Four will be included in the Cosmic powers. I think that's a good avenue to explore rather than sticking completely with the Guardians, which seems pretty limited.
Though, maybe that is a hint that we might have themed lists coming.
The Fragile Breath wrote: New releases look pretty good! I'm hoping they do a two player box, as my group is looking to get into these games.
Speaking of, do you dakkanauts know of a good "starting point" guide or anything? Also, how many rep points do you generally play?
BMG tournaments are usually 300-350 Rep. A good starting point is around 200 Rep.
Marvel seems to play well at about 50. Starting at around 30 (which s close to the starter sets of most of them, seems like a good place to play with the rules.
Yeah, its nothing game breaking, but some of the traditionally slow Guardians, like Rocket and Thing, now don't have to be.
And, depending on wording when it becomes official, it does not have to be the Guardians only; so Doom could be faster and therefore not in range of your own models. And that +1 might be for every movement type, giving some really fast fliers.
The card does seem a little underwhelming, but he is the cheapest model the squad can use (other than animated series Harley), so even if he just concentrates on going for objectives, he's not losing out. There's also the fact that one of his 'weapons' is one-use and the other has to reload, so you wouldn't be attacking every turn anyway. Use him to start/finish fights the heavier hitters don't have time for, and score points when they can't sit still on objectives.
Motograter wrote: Diablo model looks great, shame about his lackluster card. Slipknots card must be devoid of anything lol
He only has one ability: "Your head asplode!".
All joking aside, this could actually work! SS have a rule where a random member gets killed if you don't have a certain amount of VPs at the end of each turn, giving Slipknot a very low cost and a special rule that means you skip the random element and he's guaranteed to get blown up, it allows you to slip up once and not risk losing someone like Deadshot or Croc.
Pretty nice model, definitely a good likeness. Surprisingly cheap Rep-wise, I wonder if the idea is to be able to get all the movie Squad members in a standard 350 game?
Hope they include the masked variant. I really liked the films outfit and thought the mask was underused. That said the face sculpting on that is top notch.
Awesome model, awesome card! I'm impressed they've managed to differentiate him from both other versions rules-wise. The first was a run-and-gun type, the second an all out sniper/assassin, this looks to be jack of all trades type that can dish out damage at an insane rate if he needs to, or conserve ammo and have the right gun for any job.
I could see a box of 4 Suicide Squadders (El Diablo, Cap Boomerang, Deadshot and Killer Croc) another box of Joker + Goons (Joker, Sidekick Frost and 2 Cosplay goons) and then a couple of blisters (Harley who can swing both ways, Rick Flagg with a Suicide/Law affiliation, a Katana blister and maybe a 3rd special Cosplay goon)
Actually, if this hypothetical Joker box had the 2 other basic Cosplay goons (the Eyeball goon and Big Teeth goon) and the Assault Rifle Panda was a separate blister that would be pretty cool.
If I were putting together the new Joker crew, I'd say PandaMan, Eyeballman, Batmanman and a Joker that has Elite Boss: Cosplayers, the golden AK-47 (we don't have a really shooty Joker yet) and maybe even a Branden-like ability to recruit bent Cops, given how manipulative he is in SS.
Models are definitely top notch. Only scale issue I have is that Croc should be bigger. But, a 35mm Croc is still pretty cool to run with.
Current Suicide Squad point total, with Croc and Katana, we're looking at 310. Assuming Slipknot is less than 50 (40 or lower to be exact), we have a 350 force with Boomerang, Katana, Diablo, Croc, Deadshot and the aforementioned Slipknot. Not bad.
Also note: Katana CAN be the randomly selected model for head bombs, but as she is not equipped with one, she (and all the Suicide Squad members that turn) will not be removed from play.
Really getting interested in the game. Is there any indication we'll see Constantine in it? Also, could anyone point me towards a repository for faction guides?
I can't think of anything sort of faction overview, but if you've got any specific questions then let me know! The thing to keep in mind is that BMG does a great job of emulating the source material, so any faction plays pretty much how you'd think it should. Penguin brings a load of cash for guns, Joker is entirely unpredictable and 'breaks' a load of rules, Batman beats people to a pulp while the Cops play the mission ect.

Constantine was a heavy hint at the end of the second rulebook, which came out earlier this year. Its basically a guarantee. But, waiting on specific characters can take a lot of patience. Mr. Freeze has been know to be a band Leader for a year now, but there's still no model for it.
As Paradigm said, feel free to ask. The Facebook pages are ok, though there have been issues in the past. The official forum is pretty much dead. And I would normally point out the Knight models games have a thread down in the forums (under the "other miniatures games"), but this thread is fairly slow, so I would not worry too much about needing to go there.
Could almost see buying into BMG if they make a nice boxed game set. Im not exactly a suicide squad fanatic so it would depend on what else they included. Looks like a neat batch of minis though.

That's fantastic, thank you, and I will take you up on the offer to ask questions
First off, what's the buy in cost like? The models look great, but are quite steep in price. I don't mind paying for them, but would the squad/team in a box be enough to start? Also, what are the peripherals which are needed? Dice, special templates, markers, tokens, and the like?
Are the rules available online as a PDF?
And speifically, how does Scarecrow and the Arkham City Blaine play like? Blaine looks like a monster, and really appeals to me.

The buy-in cost varies a lot depending on what you want to take, but most of the Starter sets (the 4-model boxes) come with around 150 Points(known as Reputation in BMG) which is more than enough to be getting on with. As a point of comparison, Arkham Knight Batman, Big Bane and Arkham Origins Deathstroke all clock in at around that on their own, whereas the Joker starter comes in a bit lower as his goons are cheaper and not as good, while Bane's crew starter comes closer to 180 as the henchmen are more powerful and thus costly. As a general rule of thumb, though, a starter and a blister for a faction (either some more Henchmen or a Free Agent) will be plenty to start out with. The other thing to keep in mind is that most Free Agents can be used by multiple crews, so someone like Deadshot or Deathstroke is a good investment as you can use them to bulk out other villain teams down the line. Likewise, the Blackgate Prisoners and Arkham Inmates can also be used my most villain crews.
The dice are just standard D6s, you can get away with half a dozen or so but I find having a number equal to each character's Willpower stat speeds things along a bit (rather than allocating them X tokens that allow them to roll X dice, just place those X dice where you would the tokens so they're on hand when you need them. This probably makes no sense until you've read the rules, but will become apparent once you have). There are templates, but as far as I know they match up to 40k small and flamer templates, and the old PDF rulebook does have a printout at the back , if you can't find that let me know and I'll find mine and get you a copy of that page.
The only free rulebook that's up to date is the wiki above, they say they're working on an updated plain text version but I'm not sure if that's going anywhere. The 'Starting Batman' link above does have a link to the previous version and a change summary, and is perfectly playable for learning the ropes.
Scarecrow comes in a few flavours, and I don't play any yet, but the Arkham Knight one (the only one you can take as a Leader and thus run a Scarecrow gang) has some nice control abilities, he's all about shutting down enemy models so his Henchmen are on a more level playing field against heroes or can outright smash henchmen to a pulp. Big Bane is fairly straigtforward, just run him at the thing you want to beat up, use his Titan does to send his stats off the charts, and he should win pretty much any matchup unless the enemy can hit him with some kind of debuff. He brings a nice tactical ability in Scheming, which allows you to withhold one model's choice of actions until you've seen the other player's allocations, the Origins Bane has this but can do it with two models, at the expense of being less dangerous (he's still my favourite version though, mainly for the awesome model). Bane's Henchmen are good with widespread Veteran, which allows them to re-allocate 2 actions when they activate and thus adapt to the situation at hand (most crews apart from Joker are stuck with what they choose in the first place). Bane's guys can also pair an Assault Rifle with Night Vision Goggles, meaning that anything that model can draw Line of Sight to is basically asking to be gunned down!
I'd suggest starting with Big Bane and either set of Blackgate prisoners, that gives you a 250 (or 247 if you get Blackgate II) list with a good number of bodies to run objectives while Bane breaks stuff, and leaves you 100 points off the 350 that is becoming the standard, room for a nice powerful Free Agent or more Henchmen.
^ Blackgate 2 is generally better, good as Turk (Bg1) is, imo, especially as Bane has access to so very many guns through the mercs.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and to follow on from Paradigm's comments on Scarecrow: he's quite finesse, underrated actually and very nasty against swarms. I tend to run Deathstroke as my boss, though, with lots of militia as they're very nasty - the cc brute and assault rifle guys especially. Jury's out for me on AK (jt), a lot of people love his shootiness but for my money I'd rather take Slade (especially with the boost in FlArrow). Bane is certainly easier to run, though.
Been having fun running Gotham PD in the BMG here last few weeks. Great game, I like most of the scenario play, and the mechanics cover the kind of skirmish level I want better than Infinity imho (no cheerleaders!).
My complaints would be some of their casts are poor, with weird extra flash in places and small mold defects. Also some of their four pack starts aren't actually legally fieldable. Example would be the Gordon with three Swat members. It's comes in a bit short of 150pts, but all three Swat are packing guns such that you have to be playing a game of over 300pts to be allowed to take them all. You can only legally use one of them at 150pts.
Taking 150 as a good starter size, most crews can do it with 1 Crew Box or equivalent blisters.
Black Mask starter: 150
Shiva (League) stater: 150
Joker starter: 158
Penguin Starter: 143
Scarecrow starter 150
Two-face: 148
Court of Owls new starter: 151
Miller Batman+GCPD Set 1: 150
TV Arrow+Agent Ron from GCPD1: 150
GCPD Loeb starter- Detective: 149
So all those are pretty much balanced against each other. The only outliers are Bane and Wonderland (too high), Ivy and Riddler (too low) and SWAT (too 'expensive'), so I think starting at 150 is easy enough, and can be done with about a £25 budget, so cheaper than a lot of games out there to start up.
I'd still like to see an actual starter at some point, the SS set looks like it'll be a big box, but a smaller set for around £30-35 that has, say, a Batman and a Robin against Joker and 2-3 goons would make a nice, simple introduction to the game. Do the rules like the BTAS ones (simple, cheap models without fancy tricks) and you're sorted!

Woah, 12 models! Wallet, prepare for impact, this might get pricey! I'd be amazed if it's less than £60! (which to be fair, is still in line with starters for most games and from the looks of it that's basically 2 full crews!)

Some form of new movie Batman is a given, I think, but I've no idea when. When BvS came out, I expected to see the armoured Bats (along with new WW and the MoS Superman) in a Justice League set to launch the DC version of the Marvel supers game, but with the likes of Flash and Supergirl coming to BMG, I wonder if we'll see that at all or if we'll just get the more powerful characters in BMG (maybe in the new Legends slots they created for the Batmobile?)...
Personally, I do think we need a seperate Supers game as while some stuff (speed, flight, healing, strength) can work in BMG, I can't see stuff like Superman's range of powers or Green Lantern's constructs fitting within the framework of this game.
But yeah, a new Batman is definitely coming, I reckon... I mean, it's been at least 3 months since they released one!

Paradigm wrote: Yeah, that list is right then. 6 for the Squad, 6 for Joker, and Harley who goes both ways.
Yeah she does
Are Henchmen limited to the Affiliation that their card states? If so, it's a little disappointing that Black Mask's minions are Joker only, being that they're all False Facers...
Paradigm wrote: Yeah, the Affiliate on cards dictates who can take what, if it lists Unknown then they can be taken with anyone they don't have the 'Hates' trait for.
Deadshot
Slipknot

Killer Croc
Katana
Captain Boomerang
Harley Quinn
Joker
Panda Man
Eyeball Man
Goat Head Priest

I really don't need a new game or models but this is mighty tempting
AduroT wrote: Been having fun running Gotham PD in the BMG here last few weeks.
Stuff like this is what makes me wonder just how much discussion there is between Corvus Belli and Knight Models designers. CB has a similar issue with starter packs(the upcoming Aconticemento Shock Army pack is waaaay over its SWC to points bracket, the USARF starter box and army box are both pathetically small) to what you're describing.
Me too, a hardback rulebook and that awesome terrain really does make it a 'proper' intro to the game! I imagine the price will be closer to the £90-100 mark with all the extras, but there's still going to be a whole lotta awesome in that box!
I hope we see more terrain like this in future, I'd definitely be down for a few sets if it were reasonable priced!
cerealkiller195 wrote: They had me with panda with gun. But they definitely won me over with a box/starter set . Time to start a gaming scene for the game lol
Even more awesomeness, the buildings are reversible and stackable! I can definitely see myself getting a few sets if they come out separately, there's enough variety there that you could fill out a table without it being too samey.
It would be very awesome if KM did an equivalent of Hawk Wargames, "Ruined Cityscape" sets... - A combination card tileset and building set for a reasonable amount of money.
I hope the buildings come out separately, are reasonably priced, and miniature market stocks them. A few could really help to pad out my battle systems post apocalypse city for epic super hero action etc.
This is getting better and better! Free (and awesome) Batfleck mini with pre-orders
I'm assuming that's on all pre-orders rather than just direct ones, because other similar minis like Black Flash and Alfred have been available via retailers.
Pretty sure all pre-orders get Batfleck (KM or retailer), and Harley is an add-on exclusive to KM direct orders.
From the KM description of the Harley version
'Suicide Squad Game Box for Batman Miniature Game. Product on PREORDER, only with this PREORDER, this product will incluide the Batman (Ben Affleck Version).
This product includes Harley Quinn Bombshell Model. This option is Web exclusive only.'
Also, Wayland have the set at about £65, from an RRP of £71... seems a bit low based on conversion rates, and no one else has a pre-order in £ up yet to compare, but if that's the actual price then this box is an AMAZING deal and a great way to start the game. It's got what I'm guessing is 2 full 350 Rep Crews (assuming Harley goes with Joker and Slipknot is around 40 Rep) and if you get Batman as well, you're a purchase or two away from a full Batman crew as well. Add in the rulebook (usually around £25) and the scenery, plus the counters that usually go for £5-10 on their own, and it's just a great value box!
rybackstun wrote: What's the issue with Wayland? I pre-ordered the box from them before seeing that there could be issues with them.
Stuff shows up as in stock when it's not, preorders can take forever, etc.
You would be better off, being a US citizen, using The Warstore or Miniature Market.
Shows up in stock when it isn't? Sorry but that just isn't true at all. We have had a live stock system for the last 4years and at the very most the error rate on stock levels is a tiny fraction of 1%
Pretty orders taking forever is another nonsense. The only delays on preorders from us are when everyone else will be in the same boat such as WM3 where demand far outstripped supply everywhere.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Pre orders not pretty.. typing on phone grr
My personal rule is never order from Wayland unless it's a preorder with plenty of notice or its an order that is already in stock with more than 3 models remaining.
If I follow that rule I find I have no issues with Wayland, get the best price around and sometimes even get them early.
Don't follow the rules though and you're stuck like my mate who is treating his hair out because he's been waiting for nearly a month with his order held back because deadpool hasn't turned up.
Not intending to derail the thread. but Wayland has been great lately. Everything is up to date and the only issue there may be is if something is out of stock on an order, and they hold it until they get a restock. OR if it's going to be out for a while they generally refund you for it and send everything else.
I feel like people are latching onto a rep they made have had in the past without looking at how much they've improved lately.
Back on topic.....Holy balls that set is just too good. Batfleck is just the icing on the cake now

You're right in my case, regarding that. I don't use Wayland--I barely do any web orders anywhere these days. I just remember their rep and the fact that there had to be a thread about how "Hey they don't suck as much anymore!"...

Is it wrong I'm kind of saddened that it is not Tactical Suit Batfleck?
Is it wrong I'm kind of saddened that it is not Tactical Suit Batfleck?
I'd love that (Without the goggles though)
Nah man, the goggles aren't a big deal. They're just the normal lenses for the Batsuit in black.
From what Snyder has said, they are tied to a specific foe and scenes concerning that foe. It's been making me think it is intended to be a representation of the "Detective Mode" from the Arkham games(wherein the lenses would go opaque white or black depending on the lighting within the crime scenes).
I got my hopes up when I saw "Free delivery on orders over 96.80 €"
But missed the "Free delivery via SPAIN is possible." part till after. 50 Euro is a bit pricey fro my blood, despite the pretty that is Bombshell Harley.
I'm very interested in this starter. I imagine me and my mates will end up all having the same 14 models, so I hope the set comes with some sort of expansion guide to developing different factions.
Hah! So did anyone notice how the email from Wayland this morning listed the price at £64.17 after discount (supposedly down from 71.30) , but now on the store it is 77.36 (down from 85.95).
Not gonna lie, I'm super irritated that the Batman model is exclusive to ordering this box set. I've been playing this game for years, and while a cool starter box style product could be enticing, the set they've chosen is not (to me). So now I'm looking at a set that I don't really want, and they've locked my favorite Batman model behind it. That really sucks. He doesn't even fit with that set other than being the new movie version of Batman.
The Harley bombshell model should have been the exclusive outright. Or they should have made a Waller model or something. But tying Batfleck to this is super lame.
I get that you think you're succeeding at being witty, but Knight Models tends to do the same stuff that Corvus Belli(both Spanish companies) does: they take something that would be heavily sought after on its own and turn it into a preorder bonus that will not see general release for months if not years if not never being released period.
Direct copy from the e-mail announcement I received from Knight Miniatures (emphasis bold text mine):
"IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear friends,
We’re pleased to announce the release of the Suicide Squad, Knight Models’ starter box for Batman Miniature Game.
Suicide Squad game box can be pre-ordered between September 21st and October 12th. Orders of this product will begin to be served from October 26th onwards in strict order of arrival.
Pre-orders received up to October 12th will come with an exclusive: Batman Ben Affleck Version. Customers pre-ordering Suicide Squad game box will be able to purchase the special edition Harley Quinn Bomb Shell until pre-order ends.
Thank you for your support.
Knight Models team
This email was sent automatically. Please do not reply to this email directly."
And I think that was the overall point of those disappointed with such a 'high profile' miniature being offered in a way that was potentially very exclusive and very limited.
Hopefully that won't be the case OR they will make another version of Batfleck for the 'general public' (people who didn't want to purchase the Suicide Squad set).
Based on their history... doesn't seem likely. I hate that I'm probably going to end up buying this when I don't even *really* want it, but really want that Batman. Ugh.
Holy crackers! An excellent starter set right when the wife and I were thinking of buying in? Sign me up!
Even if I end up selling the Mr. J half to one of our friends, this seems like a sweet bundle. I'll wait for the Warstore or Miniature Market to set up pre-orders to compare pricing before we decide if we're getting Bombshell Harley.
I feel like I missed something here - what's the Bombshell Harley? A model you can only buy if you pre-order from KM?
Anyway I've put in my own pre-order (which might suck if this Bombshell Harley is something I want since it wasn't with KM) but as I don't care for Batsy I would certainly part with my Batflek
Edit: never mind, I see now. Shoot. I like that Harley model too..
It's the model on the previous page, a display Harley riding a bombshell, which you can only get by ordering from Knight directly and paying an extra 10EUR.
Got my set ordered from The Outpost, £60 which is the best price I've seen so far.

Hoping they break the contents of this up at some point as well. All I want out of this is Katana for my Law Forces. Or maybe I'll just do what I'm doing with Ivy and Batgirl, buy one of their models and print off the different cards for them so I can play the other versions still.

That is what I am doing, with the exceptions of different sized bases. Titan Bane and Regular bane wouldn't be interchangeable but Regular Bane and DKR Bane are fair game for my opponent.

I don't mean to contradict, but there are only two base sizes for BMG; 30mm and 40mm. All the Banes are on the 40mm base.
Models that have the Large trait are on 40mm base (all the Banes, Titan Joker, Swamp Thing, Grundy, Gotham Butcher, somehow the Riddler Mech and a few others). 40mm is the largest base that BMG uses.
All other models are on 30mm bases.
Batbod is unique--it doe not come with a base. There is much discussion, though most people put it on a bike base.
Shipping is pretty steep but I would buy a couple more things from the direct only range (AO Bats, Adam West Bats, Classic Riddler, Arkham ivy off the top of my head) to get free uk shipping. There's always folk wanting the direct minis (Adam West is fantastic in game as is Arkham ivy, or if like me you missed Classic Riddler ) turnaround is fast though.
I bought the le Harley version from km direct. I bought the le lantern book too and recieved it quickly. It is a little pricier, but it contains two le minis that wot be released again. The le Harley should be almost as rare as the rep hood joker mini... who was tough as hell to get ahold of after I passed on preordering the joker book.
If you collect le minis, or like harley/joker, or want a new version of harley to use, I'd suggest preordering from km.
Many others speak of the minis being released again, but km has a history of releasing preorder minis and promo cards that are never released again. It's a now or never thing.
Certainly one to keep an eye on. I'm not a massive Potter fan, but there's potential for some great minis (especially if they have likeness licenses for the actors as part of the deal) and I'm very interested to see how the game itself turns out. There's scope for some very innovative and interactive mechanics , and loads of ways they could go with it.
Harry Potter actually sounds interesting. I'm a fan although I'm not too sure about getting others interested. I'd be concerned about their ability to support it in addition to all their other games.
Yeah, I like the sound of a HP game also, but I'd rather have generic type rules which could apply to lots of different IPs, like Scooby Doo (anyone with kids will understand) than just one game IP at a time.
I haven't been following this too closely.. is there going to be another starter box similar to the Suicide Squad one? I'm not overly fond of the minis in that one but the buildings, rules, etc.. are all things I would be interested in.
Not that we know of... KM did say it was the first starter box for BMG, but I assume that's because there was never one before rather than because they plan to do more... SS seems to have sold very well, though, so it may well happen at some point!
No other Suicide Squad boxes in the know, yet. I can't picture that happening very often. Maybe once a year at best?
DC super game? Not for me, likely. Batman is by far my favorite DC character, and his 'universe' the part of the company I can deal with. Marvel is more for my superhero needs.
Harry Potter game? Interesting, and a bit unexpected. First, I hope its accessible to a younger crowd, so I can game at home with the kids. Second, I hope its a small scale--like 3-5 minis per person at the most. Also, it would make sense as a cooperative game, as I'm not sure how many would really take to playing Snape and Co. against one of the biggest protagonists of the last couple decades.

Not looking for a different SS box so much as a different starter box.

That would be my expectation, too. I'm still thinking, at best, we would see such a thing once a year.
akai wrote: It would be really cool if the DC Universe Miniature game is compatible with Marvel Universe Miniature game.
I think that's a given, seeing as how the Spidey game (as dead on arrival as that was) was based on the Batman system. I must admit I'd given up hope for a separate DC supers game with Flash and Cyborg among others making their way into Batman, but I'd 100% on board for this when it releases!
The second last guy is Aaron Cash who was a member of Arkham Security in Arkham Asylum, there's another picture floating about of another security guy.
If make sense for it to be another 4 person kit like Gordon and SWAT
More Marvel goodies, please!! Lol. Actually, I would get a full 7-slot Justice League if they made it; Supes, Bats, WW, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern and MM.
I'f you're willing to go for the New 52 lineup and take Cyborg instead of MM, that's 5 of the 7 available from the off, you just need GL and Aquaman.
I wonder, though, if this is going to be based on the MUMG mechanics, if the likes of Cyborg/Flash/Reverse Flash/Lobo that are suitable for the supers game but already in BMG will just get new stat cards, or if we'll see new models? Some of them are pretty recent to roll out a new model of any time soon, I'd think.
