Nice but think the head could be a better one. The high elf mage has a nice head. (The one with the hair in a flowing motion forward XD

Truth is, that I knew I wanted to use that head on my Autarch when I first saw it, so... I'm not going to change it (although I might add hair or some other kind of neck detail).

Part of the reason he wears that helmet, is that he in the fluff was formerly a Dark Eldar Archon who then regretted what he had done.

Ok and is it custom fluff or is it fluff in the codex?

my stompa (actually the quickest conversion of mine to date, built and primed in two hours, painted in around three more.

when I gather the bits they will be joined by a dread boss and a mrs potato head stompa to make the ultimate dread mob of 2 parents, 1 teenager and 3 kids.

oh and here's my latest one, a small conversion, but fairly effective I think.
replaced the generic laspistol with a more good-looking german (fitting in with thier german association) mauser C96 from zinge industries. Believe it or not, that gun was considered a miscast!

I did this one a year or two ago, I modeled my commander farsight to be jumping off a thing (I really don't know what it is) and I think it looks cool, my one problem is how unbalanced he is and he tends to fall a lot

I've also done some cutting and bending on my battlesuits

I've glued some metal sprue bits under but they haven't helped so much, Farsight's left arm is a real problem because its made out of metal
I plan on using simple green to strip the paint off all my tau so I can repaint them, and I can remodel my commander Farsight so he doesn't fall over as much

It is no coincidence, while filming starwars due to a limited budget they had to source props secondhand from the studios, the most common prop weapons were ww2 period ones. After some crude 'augmentation' they were deemed to look good enough. Apart from the wookie bow caster nearly all the weapons from the original trilogy are recognisably world war two ones.

That was actually one of the best things about the original trilogy, in my opinion. He took bits and pieces from all over to do his special effects, and the movies rocked because of all the extra work they did to make it look good. Once they got an unlimited budget and digital special effects, they got lazy. The remakes and new trilogy don't look half as good to me.

I built this little guy some time ago. Some might have seen it on the waagh. But those that haven't here you go.







Its a Plastic card Meganob. There are a few bits in there from a regular boy, but pretty much all PCard and brass rods. I hope you enjoy!

Tis meant to be some form of diorama, which if I'm proud enough of may take a chance showing it off at Golden Demon.

It's going to involve Venusaur using a vine attack on Blastoise, who is firing a hydro pump in the air, almost hitting an airbourne Charizard who is breathing fire towards Venusaur who is using an upturned tree to block it.

no he didn't copy the Mauser he used one and stuck some spare crap to it, the guns in Star wars were all blank fireing so that the FX department would have muzzle flash to start the laser bolt from, even the storm trooper guns are based on real guns. the new movies not so much but the classic ones were all real guns (except chewies bowcaster possibly)

They used the real guns because Lucas is a little bit of a gun fanatic, plus they had a really small budget so they had to use what was left in the studio from the last two films shot there!

The Baron enjoys your background lighting techniques. However your focus needs improvement.

Also if you use a continuous sheet from base to background with a shallow bend rather than two sheets and a 09 degree bend it would improve you shots

Oh okay thanks for the info. That's better then the previous your camera stinks get another one advice I got awhile back.

Well the focus is off Has you camera got a little picture of a flower (probably highly styalised) on the back of it beside a button, if so that's the Macro setting which tells the camera to focus on close up detail.... if your using a digital camers it should have that setting, Even my mobile phone has one...

If the pictures are blurry because your hands are shaking and you arn't using a flash because that would make your pictures suck try resting either your wrists or the camera on something sturdy....

Also get some poster board and use that as the back drop as it is much wider and easier to hide anything else that would be behind it.

Alt Radar fail. Sorry man this is my only account. plus I'm in the UK and Ghidorah is in the USA so it'd be kinda hard to commute just to get another voice on the boards. plus I don't have a clue how to include little vid files like the one in Ghidorah's sig....

Kind of a cheat - I didn't model these figures, a friend did with input from myself, but I did the painting. Still probably mt best to date. I need to get back into the hobby properly again.







40k Emperor's Children Champion with Blastmaster made from Kharn body, Ahriman backpack, an original Chaos Termie Reaper Autocannon with an old metal CSM shoulderpad as the lower bit of the "guitar". Old Daemonette claw and head (the only good parts of that iteration of the Daemonettes, IMO). This was made int he days before kneadatire was available, and neither my friend nor I were a dab hand with the putty, so you can see the arm-gap highlighted inthe photo. Not nearly as obvious in hand.


I've got another one, but need to go for now.

My second conversion ever, the first was a Black Orc Warboss.
This is a GK in power armor psycannon, converted for a termie use. I used bitz from the GKPA box, GK termie box, and pieces off bass guitar strings.

Random place for this to be asked, but this really is the only thread The Baron checks.

If The Baron were to buy two Ork Battlewagons and fuse them together into one badass machine, if the time came when he would actually learn to play again, what vehicle could he pass it off as?

A battle fortress, most likely, or perhaps a Kil Bursta/Blasta. Have a look at what things Forgeworld produce, they might inspire you.

+1 very true, altough you might want to buy something with a decent sized gun as well to add in there (like a russ or something)

Love those Necrons!

Pretty basic conversion, Cut away the force sword and the fist on the storm bolter hand.

Added in two plastic falchions from the Plastic GK set. Shall post painted pics tomorrow

I took the Punishercanon from a Leman russ Demolisher kit.

Easily by far the best looking Ork bike EVER!

Made a sort of hover craft for my lord to ride, uses a res orb for steering also working on a small base so he can switch between counting as a destroyer lord or not

though I did build it in two hours, using no modelling putty or plasticard, and I'm underage.
AFAIK, this guy built it in a year or two, with LOTS of plasticard, and he's a pro.
I saw that webpage when my LGS manager saw my stompa and told me about that one. It's so unbelievably epic.

@ Mx1- You might be surprised, but there are no moving parts in the dozer blade of my Land Raider. It's just a simple slide and groove setup.

I wanted to make a functional one, such as the hatch on the LR, but figured that simple in this case would be better.

yeah. I'm quite apocalypse-oriented, seeing as I have a 2000 point guard army with 15 infrantry, the rest being tanks and super-heavies.
having a spudstompa is awesome, but I decided to add my own little flair in the form of having kids.

The main gun on the Baneblade was found...wanting. And the Baal Predator just makes no sense whatsoever.

I just started Warhammer a little while ago, but here's what I've done. I needed a quick way to switch between twin-linked rokkit launchas and twin-linked big shootas for my koptas. No glue required. Not painted yet obviously...

I made a new Heavy Support option for my custom Tau Sept. The XV-12 Suppressor Wardrone is a large, heavily armed walker controlled by a sophisticated AI system. My rules for it are pretty well balanced for gameplay too...

@jollydevil - This model is 99% kitbashed... I used the Dreadknight, a Piranha, Ion Cannons, and other various pieces from my Tau and Space Marines Bit Boxes. The Leg armor is made from the Heads of the Ion Cannons...
