Things you don't understand about the Opposite Gender @ 2010/12/30 03:20:47

Continuing the tread of Opposite Gender threads, what are some things you just don't understand about them?

For instance, why does the fairer sex always shout "Oh I gotta PEE!"

Usually when looking me right in the eyes

They can touch me, but if I do the same they start to wince or glare (but not always sometimes I get positive reactions). Fething double standards.

I swear, I have at least ONE do it no matter where I go! Elementary I had a girl do that, High school I had a girl do that, and where I currently live I have a girl doing that.

That last one was the only one I asked out, and she seems to be sending mixed signals.

How about their inability to turn a damn light off. I came home from work today and my fiancee and her sister were in the living room, watching tv.

With the 3 table lamps on, the overhead cieling fan light on, the dining room light on, the kitchen lights on (including the under the cabinet lights)

The light in the hall way, the light in the laundry room, the light in the guest bedroom, all of the light in the guest bathroom.... etc etc..

Sufficie it to say I pointed out to her that there was only three lights in the whole house not on.

The light in my walk in closet, the light in the stairwell and the light in the refrigerator.

TURN OFF THE DAMN LIGHTS WOMAN!

I can think of a few. There's several idiosyncrasies you could come up with related to menstruation alone. Watch the commercials they play on TLC when some of those pregnancy shows are on and see if you don't come up with a couple of observations. Honestly, the PCness is exhausting at times.

Hm, they never look me in the eye from what I recall, but I hear "I gotta pee" way too damn often.

But to add some substance to the thread, I don't understand the way their evil little fickle minds work. Sending out mixed signals, etc. and engaging in psychological warfare that puts even the CIA/US Army, etc. to shame.

Consider that I was living with the gf at the time and work nights 40+hours a week.... when would I have had the time for basically every other woman that recognised me from work?

In some cases, yes that's very true...however that IS understandable from a certain perspective, most of us would like to have our cake and eat it too..we just tend to grasp that it probably won't happen.

What I genuinely don't understand is the female habit (at least in many cases) of using the same "argument tactics" repeatedly, even though they have proven to be ineffectual.

Me: What's the matter?
Her: Nothing. (clearly there is)
Me: Oh..this again.
Her: What do you mean "This Again"?
Me: We're playing the "I won't tell you why I'm mad ..because if you REALLY loved me you'd be able to read my mind game".
Her: I hate you.
Me: I know.

Just one of your girlfriends tried the "nothing" game with you?...you've obviously had better luck with selection than I,as at least a dozen previous woman I've dated used the "Nothing" game as a standard tactic.
But yes, I agree allowing them to "stew in their own juices" until they decide to rationally discuss what the problem is usually works best...not always, but usually.

Relationships, even healthy ones, have at their core the underlying tension between two people, and how much each is willing to do to keep the other. Whoever is willing to do less, or is willing to walk away quicker, will always have the advantage in any conflict. that's true in business as well, btw.

The nothing game is built around the idea that a man is so willing to avoid an argument or disatisfaction that he'll go to any length to make her happy, even when she refuses to communicate. the only way to win is to show that you're not afraid of her being upset with you.

Even in a long term relationship, letting your partner know that you are willing to walk away rather than put up with certain behavior is healthy. There is even some research that seems to indicate that people like knowing that their parnters have standards and are not weak willed.

I just don't get why they want to drink Beer all the time, watch the NFL on the TV, go out with their mates and play sports.

They generally don't like pink, spending lots of time with their partners and finding time to make moments special for the relationship.

Married nearly 15 years. I still don't understand why when she asks me to do something... and I do it right away... I still get in trouble because she had to ask me to do it in the first place.

"Mind Reading" was NOT part of our pre-marital counseling... which apparently was an oversight.

This is so true...

I'll happily deal with the "Nothing" game over the latter,as...in my experience, the " I shouldn't have to ask,you should just want to" game seems to impact on a much deeper level...when that game comes into play a woman is genuinely judging just how much you really do care.

Well, the nothing game is a test of wills.

The "you should want to" game is an indictment of behavior. She's basically calling out that you don't care enough, or love her enough, or fail in some way. Now, sometimes that's true. It's one thing to not do your share of housework or whatnot. It's also different fro the things that really matter: if she takes her birthday really seriously, she shouldn't need to ask to ahve a party.

That said, there is a limit to fair share, and there is a limit to the number of truly special things any person can expect. Generally though, this game can be ducked. Just don't respond. a little indifference can go a long way.

The bottom line is that everybody deals with emotioanl stress in different ways, and women are more likely to expect their partner to bear the brunt of their release. Some of it is just the cost of doing business. In the long run, you have to decide wheter untangling a woman's entire emotional support structure or simply allowing her to be pissed at you once a month is easier.

I agree with the ideas here, unfortunately (maybe), for quite some time I was the one who was always willing to walk away and do less, eventually leading to two divorces and a plethora of crash and burn relationships.

It took some considerable time for me to couple my "take care of number one" attitude with a desire to actually attempt to nurture another person and try to make a relationship work.

THIS. Ugh.

It might just be me but it seems like many of the issues we run into with women have to do with an overall lack of confidence. I've observed way too many times a woman trying to act all tough and independent while also "needing" support that should could have gotten if she weren't so busy trying to keep up her bs persona of trying to act how she thinks you want her to. Yet she denies she's doing it to gain your approval even though it's obvious she is. The separation (or lack thereof) of rational thought and emotional feeling is the killer for me. I look at a situation and ask if it's worth the cost or not, and they look at the same situation and choose whatever is more comfortable and familiar.

Exactly. Ultimately the signs of emotional stress are the sorts of things that most societies view as being embarrassing. As a result, they tend to be most freely expressed around those that are willing, or able, to bear it. This is almost always significant others, close friends, or members of the family. As such, heterosexual men that aren't with women that have a realistic chance of threatening them physically (it isn't like men don't have their own releases) are bound to end up on the receiving end of some level of emotional release.

Its not really as complicated as everyone seems to believe, its merely the natural frustration that follows from dealing intimately with someone that isn't exactly like you.

That being said the "You should want to do it!" game is frustrating as hell, though not from the perspective of responding to it. There's always the "I can't want to do something that I'm unaware of." response.

I consider myself pretty lucky in a way, because I have mostly avoided any of the mind games talked about here. I tend to get to know girls fairly well before going out with them though, and a sensible outlook is bloody vital to me finding them attractive. (Can lead to LONG stretches of being single.)
I've seen some of the behaviour in my female friends and workmates though.
In my current workplace, the team is female dominated. This doesn't bother me, though at times I think things get a bit too emotional and stuff. The upside is lots of cakes. However, a few of the ladies (the younger ones, it must be said) complain about sexism and so on, and how men have it easier in our line of work (teaching). Some of it has some merit, and I agree with them, other bits I disagree with. I usually keep my mouth shut, even when they insult me with what they are saying.
The other day though, they came out with something that took the cake (the only upside!).
Our boss is really good, and he's a man. But he's leaving soon to take another position. Oh well, not too bad really. The women were talking about who they'd want to replace him, and they came to the conclusion that they wanted a middle aged man. Not a woman, because, in their own words "I just wouldn't respect her, I think we'd all bitch about her behind her back and nothing would get done."
W.T.F. ARGH
Way more sexist than anything I've ever even THOUGHT- I don't care who gets the bloody job, as long as they are competent!

Lets get this thread back on track, psycho babble my arse!

Shoes!

10 boxes of irregular choice shoes by the wardrobe along with the entire bottom of the wardrobe covered in yet more shoes!

Clothes!

3/4 of our wardrobe space, half of our draw space, and clothes stored under ours and the boys beds.

I am replacing a favourite pair of jeans which I have totally worn out. The vicious harridan has made comments regarding 'space'.

WTF!!!!

The "I shouldn't have to ask you, you should want to do it" game is a nightmare.

News flash: If I WANTED to do it, it would be DONE already.

Since it is NOT done, I clearly do not want to do it, regardless of what you think I should or should not want to do.

Ergo - If you want something done, that isn't getting done, you know I don't want to do it. Thus you must ask me to do it, at which point I likely will, but I will also probably complain. This will display to you that I am doing something I don't want to do FOR you, which should make you happy.

If this does not make you happy tough gak.

P.S. Happily married for 6 yrs.

Right toward the end of shopping, we'll have a full cart and she'll be like "what are we having for dinner tonight?" or "we've got all this stuff and no planned meals" After I give the expected male "who gives a plop, we'll make due" answer she'll get COMPLETELY frustrated, throw her hands up and say...I dont even want to do this anymore, let's just leave....and be perfectly fine wasting an hour grocery shopping and walk off from the cart....pissed.

I will say one thing that my woman does that drives me nuts...

When you finish the laundry, you are supposed to fold it and put it in the closet or into the drawers...

...dont leave it in the bastket and then complain that I throw a wet towel into A LAUNDRY BASKET!!! Which is for DIRTY clothes. If you can't finish the load of laundry.... dont start it.

On a side note...

I can't stand dudes that dye thier hair. Dude... You are a Dude. If you use a product with a chick on the cover... then it aint for dudes. Man-Card revoked.

I've been married/living with a woman for 7 years now. There are some funny things about their behavior and thought processes for sure.

For instance, what is it about the sight of a man on a couch that invokes such riteous fury in a woman? I say, but baby, just watching you flit around the house makes me so TIRED!

One thing I've also learned, is that when you 'ask' (of course none of us have to ask our wives to do something) if she minds if you do this or that, say go boozing with the boys, or spend $100 on a battleforce, and she gets mad that you've asked - well you might as well go ahead and do it. You're already in trouble, just because you don't do it is not going to lessen the rage that you wanted to do it in the first place. So you may as well make being in the doghouse worth it, and go get drunk or get a new army.

One other thing I've noticed over the years is their inability to let things go without saying something. I'd dispute the above claim that men are messier, it's just that we don't care as much when there is a mess. I'll pick up my wife's clothes, make the bed, put her dishes away, no problem - it took 5 seconds and I'll never think about it again. If she has to do any of that, it's often necessary for her to come and find me to tell me she had to do it!

That ties into one more observation I've made over the years - the womanly rhetorical question. I'm the type of man who will make a sandwich and pour a glass of milk, then take it to the table and devour it all before returning to clean it up. She'll come along and say something like 'did you want to put the milk away?'. As if I planned on leaving it on the counter all night. Or I'm leaving for work, and forgetting my lunch, and she'll say 'did you want to take your lunch today?' as if making it and leaving it on the counter, and being hungry all day, was my intention all along. Why not just put the milk away, or give me my lunch? To quote Magneto: Why ask questions to which you already know the answer?

In any case, none of that really matters, and even when it's really annoying I still get a kick out of it. The good outweighs the bad!

One more thing that was really hard to understand was the womanly responses when we had our newborn baby. It is really hard for a mom to hear her baby cry, it provokes a deep, genetic response in them. Baby cries (for no reason - it's fed, dry, and warm - babies cry, dude), then mom feels so bad for the baby she beats herself up if she can't stop it. Dad just feels bad for dad!

Nope you are doing it right..... Of course, men do not understand why women dislike football (it comes on at most three days a week), beer, and our rough and tumble friends.

Being told to do one thing and then being yelled at for doing it. Seriously, we had a plan then you stopped communicating in the middle of it, then you yell at me and accuse me because I didn't show up uninvitied on a day you specifically told me you weren't able to see me.

Absolutely hate that. If you want something say it. If I ask, confirm, then double confirm something don't come around and bitch at me for not doing something you told me not to do.

The light thing is aggrivating as frick. Apartment with 3 people, two guys and a girl, and we ran over on our electrical allowance for the month. I gave up my mini-fridge (college apartments), unplugged everything except when strictly necessary, switched to battery clocks and the other male did the same. The female? Tv is on, all 3 lights (bed, bath, and closet), radio, mini-fridge (which she refused to give up) and a desk lamp are all on while she's at work. Guess who paid 66% of that bill? This is after getting yelled at for having 'too much on' due to being able to hear my fans out in the living room. (fan, ceiling fan, and computer isn't too much to ask for right?)

Gossiping and being in other peoples business is irritating as hell, and giving away information given in confidence is asking to get your ass beat.

Then again, I assume there is better in this world than college drunks and whores. Who knows, maybe one day I'll actually meet a real woman.

Also, has anyone ever had a girl set up a "bodyguard" at a dance, simply because you said "hey" to them a couple of times?

Fair enough, though there was no disinterested glances. She freakin stares at me. And she constantly tried to pick a fight with me over the stupidest little things.

It's that church girl I was talking about in another thread. One day, since my mom was teaching her CCD class, I walked down to their room and asked if it was time to go. My mom asked me what time it was, I told her "It's 7:52", and Church Girl looks at me and says "My Clock says 7:53". I reached into my pocket, pulled out my Pocket Watch, and showed it to her "7:52". I put it back into my pocket, pulled out my phone and said "7:52", and she looked at me like I had just ran over her dog......

She, but I just don't understand the whole point of it; she loves my mom, she hates me, she can't take her eyes off of me when she is facing my direction, but when her back is turned she wont turn around to save her life, and she seems to like yelling at me for the dumbest things.

Hell, she had English class after me during my senior year, and I would write random things on the Chalkboard, nothing to do with her, me, or anything, but the first time I did it "Oh, well, who did that? Oh, I know! SLAAAAARG!"

Yeah... about that.... I only saw her at Church and during the lunch period. Had a Study Hall with her, but we didn't really talk that much. She did NOT like my answer to "Why do people close thier eyes when they sneeze", though.

I said that it's because if they didn't, their eyes would shoot out of their sockets, and in order to see, you would have to hold your eyes in your fingers while they are still connected to your skull through the sockets. That kind of grossed her out

I have no clue on reality TV shows, but then, I'm a huge nerd, so I'm hardly a good person to ask. But on B... I care about my friends, and want to help them. I dunno what else to say? Humans are social creatures regardless of gender, with that trait being expressed slightly more strongly in women (but the difference is not necessarily as great as people might want to believe, especially in modern times).

My liking to socialize is probably why I post here so much, despite my nerdiness. Or perhaps because of it. Or in spite of it. Or all of the above.

TBF Mel, these probably aren't the most social breed of males around these parts. And one reason for the latter part of your post is that nerd girls are typically shy and reserved, much like nerd guys. They don't get noticed because they don't try to be.

General note: While I'm all for people being comfortable with themselves, it can't hurt to spend and extra 15 minutes getting ready and at least being aware of what you look like. There are lots of minor superficial changes people I see in game stores could make and increase their appeal significantly.

Typically, when I'm in the game store, I'm hung over (maybe still drunk), unshaven, and probably one of those guys you're referring to. When I'm out at a bar/club/date/social outing, I'm usually clean shaven, or at least not looking like Grizzly Adams, in a nice shirt, and not looking like I'm ready to fall asleep. If there was ever a woman in the FLGS, I'd consider keeping up the appearance, but it is the biggest sausage fest short of a Jimmy Dean convention. You're thinking about responding to that with "well, maybe if you all weren't stinky bastards, there WOULD be." I don't disagree, but I can't change the world, let alone the other nerds.

Her Gamorian Guard friend? I'm related to a few "girl's fat friends". They generally make the best guards. The fat one is usually the meanest of the crew too.( Or maybe that is just the ones I share a common ancestor with ) Never ran into one at a dance, but at bars all the time.

What you need is a friend who'll jump on that grenade for you when you go out. When we were in Uni, we used to flip coins or play rock, scissors, paper to see who was going to distract the fat one. If you can get a friend who likes them, it's great because her friend isn't usually a heifer on hind legs. Her sister, probably.

I just say what I do from managing a comic shop for a little over a year at one point. I was very metro (still confused about the bi thing) at the time and guess who had first dibs on all the nerd chicks? I was handsome, well-kempt and able to hold a non-nerdy conversation. Granted I was also taken at the time which both increased appeal and also killed any chance that I was going to go on any sort of wild adventure I tell you though, being "the dude in eyeliner and a Gaga shirt" draws it's fair share of odd looks but I still have first dibs talking to the chicks. I guess the moral of the story is try a little and the people not trying at all around you get dwarfed anyway.

Well the opposite gender confuses the hell at me. When I hit on a girl, she didn't understand I was hitting on her, and didn't understand anything, I mean if anything she was confused. And it really made me think, what the hell are they teach girls these days?
I mean seriously if any thing, the girl didn't know anything which made me . Another thing I don't understand is when the girls decide that they know everything and don't understand the difference between a fighter and a stalker. >.<
Also another thing why in gods name do they team up on you, if you haven't done anything wrong. not only that but believing you are working on some plan to destroy something, then I had to show them exactly what I do. Map making. >.< It was suppose to be a secret and I was told by the company not to reveal under any circumstances, but I did, so I told my boss, that it was these iduiot girls that believed we were terriosts. And my boss Replied. "Well, the thing is, we get that alot believe it or not, Because of it being called top secret and all that. But we are fine with you telling people who are not involved with Starcraft 2 or Warcraft 3 as they have no idea what it is. So go ahead and ensure you don't give out member information."
After that the girls sorta of thought 'oh he is just a nerd.' Which I am fine with

Okay, I'm all for equal rights, but some of them are sexist. Women, when you turn 18, do you have to sign up for Selective Service (the draft, should one ever occur)? No. Does anyone fight for this, or the "not allowing on the frontlines" thing? No. See, women want to keep the good parts of sexism (though those are VERY rare).

Yeah i got bitched at by one of those equal rights for women nut jobs (im for women having equal rights, she was just a little crazy about it)...

I was like wow, where i grew up you held the door for anyone behind you, male or female, its just a courtesy...

Meh.

I want to see female soldiers serving on the front lines. I want to see a selective service for both genders. Maybe it's weird for me to say this, but equal rights, equal power, equal privileges, all must be countered by also having equal responsibility.

Its a family guy quote except it is.
"There are two suns, and no women what the hell am I suppose to do!"

Plus there are barely any in this sad sad little town. Smart Women that is. They are either really intelliegent and have no common sense.
Or they have no intelliegence and common sense. And no intelliegence and no common sense.

Sister is color blind XD. Anyway it is inappropriate for children.

Anyway I know girls who say they are color blind yet they always pick the pink color and blue and yellow. Which they said they couldn't see.

Asherian, the correct spelling of believing in a higher being while not following any formal religion is agnosticism, i.e. being an agnostic.

And if you believe that God created the Earth and now sits back, watching his self contained creation, similar to how a watchmaster enjoys watching a transparent grandfather clock run, that's Deism, which was the religion of several founding fathers.

Things I don't get about the opposite gender?

Why they want equal rights yet refuse to take out the trash?

Why they say one thing and mean another (and expecting you to understand what the other thing is!)

Why they say the most horrible things when they don't mean it.

I'm sure these things don't apply to all women though.

It's funny how they never complain about how shallow we males are when they can use it to get out of a trafic ticket, or to get better tips as a waitress or bartender, or not be expected to do any physical work, or get a cushy job at a record store by being cute and flirting with the manager etc etc (yeah I got passed up for that job for a bimbo back in high school, still mad about that).

In my experience, it's only when they don't get us to do something they want (or some other chick out-hots them at their own game - ech look out then), then all of a sudden men are all just shallow pigs. My GF sometimes gets upset and starts on the whole 'men are all just so dumb' tirade when some hottie all revealing looking is on TV, like some victorias secret ad or whatever, some stupid movie or whatever, as if that's my fault that billboards and TV ads and movies are all full of such images?

It really don't understand how girls know what I am saying now. Apparently girls believe they need to ensure they aren't getting hit on.

Yes, guys lie, etc. but we're significantly less hormonal in the process. Our bodies are designed to make babies then... well, that's where your own sense of personal responsibility kicks in. Women's bodies are biologically made to grow babies and nurture them. I'm not saying that is the sum of mankind's potential, but is the base of our existence, the innate need for us to survive as a species. It underlies everything we do at least a little bit, and I guess I'm strange for not seeing that as dirty. That being said, one person can aspire to whatever they want to, conventional or not; there are plenty of "breeders" taking care of the survival aspect. I just can't buy the whole "everyone else does it too" excuse when one side, admittedly, does it more than the other by a significant portion.

I do have awesome friends XD. Most of us are going to join different things. I sing and I am one nasty sucker when it comes to any sport. (I'm good at almost every sport).
But Anyway I agree with you on that Cannerus. It is a stereotype. I know a girl that can break my spinal cord. Except she taught me almost every single killing move I know. Of course I have yet to put them to use. Some girls are just so badass you want them as your friends as soon as possible.

Cannerus: I think you're simplifying a lot of fairly complex biology in what you are saying here. "Emotional" is hardly an exact term, so more or less emotional is almost meaningless.
Also (and this is just the obvious, easy stuff), you know testosterone is a hormone, right? We're just as hormonal, the difference is it's a constant level for us, but if effects our behaviour, too.

A few. Nowhere near as many as society wants to claim, however.

Also, I don't think you quite understand the nature of the sex hormones. Modern science still hasn't entirely figured them out, nevermind someone who probably doesn't have any real education on the subject outside of wikipedia. Men need estrogen as much as, if not more than women. Women also very much need testosterone, too-- and both genders naturally produce both hormones in their body.

Its not the level of sex hormones present in the blood that makes a difference its the levels present during development that totally change the structure of the body and brain.

But I thought the human body naturally started as female, and would mutate depending on the make up of its chromosomes?

Not quite, the base setting is kind of pseudo-female and the chromosomes have an effect on how much of the sex hormones are produced during development (conception to 18ish).

Mel: That's true. I 'd love to see more middle ground on the issue.

I'm not claiming to be a scientist or anything like it, just stating what I know with really bad diction most likely. Point is, people understood what I meant and that's what really matters. Nonetheless, women have periods and act different once a month and men don't. Feel free to to "science" that for me correctly, but women are better at dealing with emotions than men throughout history. It's even evident by the way they communicate with each other compared to how they communicate with men.

If it helps any, I'm forming my opinions based mainly on the straight and gay couples I know. Fem-fem relationships are typically drama-y and focus on that comfort that women want while gay relationships tend to be more open and really quickly and objectively (drama tends to be due to boredom and pettiness more than anything). Straight relationships seem almost defined by either the differences between the two, or by the shared attributes. The former seem to end messily and the latter tend to last more often. Not saying everyone's the same, just giving my anecdotal note here.

Also Melissia, unless you are more up-to-date on biological research (which is easily possible), I thought that while both genders have estrogen and testosterone, we currently do not understand why men have estrogen, or women testosterone, it appears that they have little to no use.

I think the problem may just be someone posting something regards women (well grounded in reality and fact or not), then Melissa just quotes it and puts "Men do this too" at the bottom.

It is just unnecessary and, to be quite frank, quite annoying.

I happily concede that she is correct; many people of both sexes mess up, behave strangely, etc.

That said, my previous ex is fething nuts. She cried and went mental when someone put carrots with her peas.

Oh, and something about other men I don't understand. What's with the utter disgust towards the color pink? (I'm never gonna wear it or anything though) I mean... ITS A COLOR! I have a friend who gets pissed off when he see's someone running around in all pink. I just think it's gay and keep it at that. XD

It's a wonderful colour. I don't wear it, since it wouldn't look good on me, my features are much too light. I find it looks better on people with darker hair or skin.

As everyone knows, real men wear pink. IT takes a manly man, a man's man, a man who does not give a flying rat's ass about what people think about his sexuality, to wear pink.

Actually I jest. It used to be light blue that was a girly color (relating to the Virgin Mary) while pink was for boys, because pink was representative of blood, and therefor was manlier.

It's only the more modern fethed up culture that assigns pink to girls and blue to boys. Personally I prefer blue anyway, which probably shows up on my 40k color schemes.

micahaphone wrote:Also Melissia, unless you are more up-to-date on biological research (which is easily possible), I thought that while both genders have estrogen and testosterone, we currently do not understand why men have estrogen, or women testosterone, it appears that they have little to no use.
Women need testosterone for our sex drives. Similarly, women need testosterone more as we age, and a great deal of the problems in menopause is because of greatly lowered testosterone levels. Testosterone also effects one's judgment when it comes to risk taking activities, with lowered testosterone typically leading to people doing more safe things.

Amongst other things, estrogen in males helps develop sperm cells and helps regulate sexual activity. Estrogen helps increase the rate of metabolism, too, as well as increasing skin maintenance (keeping the skin healthy, repairing after scars, etc) and blood coagulation when bleeding.

Mind you, BOTH of them have a very long list of effects, as hormones are not simple things with merely one or two effects-- the body is a complex system thrown together from a long, uncoordinated development of over billions of years of evolution.

I cannot agree more with this bolded statement our culture is Fethed up.

But our culture does do alot of WTF?s like Fetishes and such. Of course It came to my mind why would girls like a vampire because they cannot do anything to have a little bit of well a good time with a lady because their body is dead.... So you want to basically have sex with a dead body? Ewww.

Sorry but its like saying that Zombies bodies aren't alive, and Zombies and Vampires are basically the same thing, caused by a bite and stupid. Vampires < Zombies.

But one thing girls do not know about are Reavers from Firefly.... And holy crap that scares everyone, one girl was like "Reavers would be better than zombies Cal!"

I didn't want to tell her that Reavers are worse and they do more than just kill you.

Another thing that i don't really understand is the ignorance that both genders have for each other, and don't care what the other thinks sometimes. Its a very common thing in society.

Fetishes are often not the person who has them's fault. I am doing a numbers grab, but I wouldn't doubt that 80% of people have some sort of a Fetish, be it Foot Fetish, Dominatrix Fetish, Pain Fetish, Furry, what have you. Often, the only thing the person with the Fetish can control is if they act on it.

Now, those people who throw their fetishes into everyone elses faces, those bastards are annoying.

Also, Reavers will rape you to death, eat your flesh, and sew your skin into their cloths. And if your very, very lucky, they will do it in that order.

Why do men think pickup lines are a good idea?

I mean, saying something like.... "You're like a pretty car, babe... I just want to get inside you and drive all night." isn't going to get the machine oiled, so to speak.

Meh...don't see that it makes me particularly lucky, simply saying that I don't know of any guy...no matter how tragically inept, that would ever believe that a line such as "You're like a pretty car, babe... I just want to get inside you and drive all night" would get them more than a drink tossed in their face by any woman that wasn't wearing a helmet and oven mits.

Now,of course...as a male of the species...I've not been subjected to anywhere near as many "pick up lines" as the average woman, "Want to go back to my place?" was just about all the prompting I ever required.

Oh, and one other thing: Yoga Pants.

"Really? Do you really want to do this, Chowderhead?" Yes, I do, voice in my head, yes I do.

Yoga pants have become less of a comfortable way to do yoga, and more of a way for women to flaunt their derrieres. They do nothing in the way of warmth, and look so damned bland. But for some reason, the women in my school love them, probably because it shows their "booties" to the world. For those who do not know what I'm ranting about, it's these:

Yoga pants have become less of a comfortable way to do yoga, and more of a way for women to flaunt their derrieres. They do nothing in the way of warmth, and look so damned bland. But for some reason, the women in my school love them, probably because it shows their "booties" to the world. For those who do not know what I'm ranting about, it's these:

yeah that is happening at my school too. Its kinda well, annoying and kinda revealing, I don't like it when girls do that just makes them look slutty.
And also wearing ripped clothing is very high in demand or looking sk8r -.-

Women have no need to breath scorpions...they have a much more formidable attack they can use against men...they have the "Wind of Nag".

... yes, my nephew is male. Why is that weird? If he wasn't male, I would call him a niece.

Just in case this is some weird little cultural thing... here, it goes like this:

Nephew = son of one's brother/sister
Niece = daughter of one's brother/sister.

IE, my sister's son is being dressed up in ripped jeans despite the fact that he is only two and a half years old.

Sorry...but both men and women tend to be attracted to confident individuals, and in many cases these "arrogant, self centered jerks" exude confidence.

It's a simple fact that regardless of what a "nice guy" you are, that if you can't make simple eye contact...or are stammering away like an idiot unable to carry on even a rudimentary conversation,no woman on earth...unless she is equally sad,is going to have anything much to do with you.

I've no doubt that they do.

I readily admit that I,for the most part, was (and to some degree still am) one of those "jerks",I basically ignored woman or teased them and rarely went out of my way to pretend I was particularly interested in what they had to say.
I went through High school playing in bands, played football and seldom had a lonely Saturday night, same was true of my early twenties and so on.

I'm not saying I'm "proud" of being a "jerk',but it definitely placed me in a better posistion than simply kicking rocks and wondering why I couldn't get a date.

To actually apply advice from The Love Guru, you really do have to love yourself before anyone can love you, especially if you want it to work. As far as body type goes, as a (modestly experienced, to be fair) participant in the fetish community, there literally is someone out there who will idolize you. For the most part if people would trust try a little harder (go the extra step in your hygiene, get a cool haircut instead of just having hair, wear decent clothes that make you look flattering) they'd be more than accepted.

I have to say, I try decently enough. Too germaphobic to not go the extra step in hygene, and I spend too long on my hair as it is. Blame it on my perfectionist nature.

Of course...

you really do have to love yourself before anyone can love you

Is a particularly tough one... Self loathing is a great hobby of mine.

It is for a lot of people. The best way to get past it I've seen is to try and identify the little bits of your subconscious that keep you down. We all have repressed memories and negative voices that repeat constantly and it's painful to dig them up but it's so much better when you get to the other side, assuming you didn't kill yourself in the process.

It's all about insecurity. I myself am not at all insecure, as far as I can tell. Well, okay, admittedly we're all insecure to some extent, but I'm pretty accepting of myself. Sure, there are things about myself I do not like, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

I am however, going to do everything I can to improve the things I dislike about myself, and I think every one else should do the same: aspire to better themselves without losing themselves.

I'm very insecure, the trick is to put up a wall of egotistical bravado

What's the difference between a rock star and a normal person? Bingo I will say that confidence topped by a layer of bravado is uber powerful.

And did this duck nag you, always "Quack this", or "Quack that"? This may be the underlying cause, but further investigation, preferably brain surgery, will be needed. I need to practice my brain surgery, so please say yes.

What about your father.

And did being compared to such a tall and magnificent beast give you an inferiority complex?

Or was it the spots?

Once again, brain surgery is needed.

Definetly the spots. My dad was a pretty short giraffe.
