More pictures of the more recently 95% painted warboss. All that is left to do is make his sun glasses and paint them, do the head light, and something to the tires. Bah humbug, the lighting threw my colors off, i really gotta work on that. But you get the general idea.

Vespas can and do have side cars.

As a 1968 Vespa owner I think it makes perfect sense, have you seen how some people modify their Vespas. Quadrophonia is a great reference for this.

Replace these mirrors with guns and tell me thats not orky

Howdy mates,

Small update, i know its only text and you want the juicy pictures. However good news is, my buddy is finishing up the casting on my ork armored torso that i made and the hand.

And as such my ork bikers will come together. As of now i have built 1 Nob pain boy biker, which i wish i took pictures of. He as some nifty and interesting conversions. And about 4-5 other bikes. Also the side car will be attaching to my warboss biker, because it looks even more orky and vespa like. Photos soon to come of this.

Also, we are in need of more entries in this contest. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/475420.page it is the second in a long line, and as always free loot if you do a good job and place! Take a look and come and compete!

*Checks codex* Nope, just stormboyz...

... even though he's dead in the Marvel comics, I'd love to see Pyro done as an Ork

oh and for you comic officinado's... December see's the 700th issue of The Amazing Spiderman, it will also be the last ever of that title... get it while you can fella's.

why“s it the last amazing???? i was there for the 300 and the 400 in my collecting days back then...

and pyro“s dead? who“s dunnit?

and yep... he would look good for a burna boy...

Pyro died of a Virus a good ten years ago, before the House of M storyline reduced mutants to an endangered species.

Also its the last amazing spiderman because they are relaunching the spiderman main franchise under a new title, tbh, it had to happen eventually... but according to the hype, No.700 will be a shocker of a story...

Title relaunches have gone on since the early 90's (when I started to read them), but personally I'm more of a limited run type of person. I like a six issue run, short and sweet. makes for a more interesting story too.

Note to all, i am not going to be doing all comic book hero's Captian america and Iron man are pushing, but however i regret to inform you this thread will be ice cold for the next two months.

I am constructing my halloween costume, and as such all aviable man hours are going into that suit.

Things i have done for the suit, - nothing
Things i have started fro the suit - helmet, goggles, upper shoulder metal plates, all lower spine plates, all upper spine plates. If you wish, i can make a thread detailing my exploits. But for now all warhammer related things are being shut down.

I wont change the title tho... i dont want a flock of non minature gaming nerds watching this progress. Infact i will go get a pick of what i have done-ish.

@Vik - as far as figure goes i am closer to prophet than nomad in terms of bulk, and i have a flat stomach dispite carrying a few extra jiggles. I may be over paranoid as a american however...lol

@Raptor - stompa?!....

@Childe - Mr peanut...now i need a finical section for my orks to make it nutty.

been paper crafting for 4 years now. Also, the bottom of the mask, which i am not wearing sits on those goggles, the goggles pop over the whole helmet, and the mask covers the nose. They are spot on.

I am also going to shave my head for the costume.

doubtful... glandular fever basically attacks the bodies immune system and makes every part of you hurt with excutiating accuracy.

what you had Vik... was what normal people call a Cold...

Well Glandular fever, once you have had it, it always affects you unfortunately... so be thankful you didnt have it.

Shall I get the measuring tape or do you want to?

Unfortunately at its worst with me, I had to sleep in a cold bath just to rest and sleep with my glandular.

gosh....! you certainly have lots of time at hand it seems...wow...

would latex milk be helpful for keeping it sturdy enough and not britle?

Orks Of America [Pic Heavy] @ 2012/10/04 23:21:04

Post by: cormadepanda

As far as the main structure goes you could put a latex cover on it but it would still be brittle. The fiberglass resign will make it as hard as a rock and as brittle, the out side bonbo which will give the general shape will be the most brittle. If you wanted a air soft quality helmet it have to be pure fiberglass resign and making smooth fiberglass resign is very hard and require polishing blocks.

Orks Of America [Pic Heavy] @ 2012/10/05 04:58:32

Post by: AnUnearthlyChilde

Vik, even when it comes to films and Tv, they tend to use the more brittle stuff anyways as Its both cheaper and less time consuming. hence why they make multiples of the item should any break.

the iron man suit was made out of pure fiberglass resign, that was polished and sanded with blocks. That how they got such nice smooth and tough surfaces. I know quite a bit about hollywood info.

Post by: AnUnearthlyChilde

same I make props... They used the same for Iron-man that they used for the new Cyberman suits. adding iron/steal filings into it, so when polished it was both as cold as metal and shone like it too, at less than half the weight. only trouble is with a suit like that you need to incorporate an air circulation unit as well otherwise the wearer will overheat far too fast.

The TV series or the original radio series? There are about 5 different versions of HHGTTG and they all differ in slight but important ways

Books, Radio, LP record, TV series, Film. On that basis I rather enjoyed the film as it came up with some new madness to slot into the idea. I think I saw the TV series first though, so that really coloured my perception of all the other media. It helped that they got some of the same guys to do the TV series as did the earlier radio broadcasts.

The 5th book in the (increasilngly poorly named) trilogy is really weird and I didn't enjoy it as much as the earlier books. Worth a read though.

Also I really like the Bosspa and the MANZ!
