Well, they did it again. The hype officially pierced the heavens
Spoiler:
I love how Mako has all stats 9999 except her brain. It remained 0000
Episode had all kinds of good and awesome stuff, but that "boat" piercing the original life thread, all thanks to "power of friendship"... THAT'S how you do a fething power of friendship moment, damn it! All that was missing was Ryuuko giving the middle finger to Ragyo.
I'm very happy Nui stayed until the end, I love that troll, I mean, villain so I'm happy the participates in the final battle!
Oh, and smiling Lady Satsuki makes my heart melt with joy
I hope everyone watched the ending, because there's a surprise near the end!
Oh, and of course: Nonon is best when it comes to sexiness. I thought the nudist beach was good, but oh sweet Lord, that Ultima Uniform
Only one more ep. to go before the end and I''ll probably be happy with whatever Trigger throws at us. They proved their skills

Should I know who that guy is?
Basically it is him (and another guy named Tyrone) that do videos in a motivational/spokeman manner but anyone can request them to do videos for about 5 bucks.

Yup, the time has come for the Final Epic Battle of Epicness! Should be quite the show.
Spoiler:
I'll admit, I was worried there for a sec when Ryuko got hacked in half. TRIGGER sure loves trolling us

It's in the same universe and we are getting some cameos, but the mood of the spin off is completely different from what I know. More slice of life, humour, high-school fun.
I'm all up for a chance of seeing more of The Kid and Shinigami-Sama

Soul Eater NOT! will probably barely show old characters, only for really really short moments if it follows the manga. It doesn't seem to follow it from the trailer.
Still hoping for an entire Negima reboot now the manga is finished for a while. The first series barely covered 1/5th of the entire storyline

Hum, never read/saw Negima, but I would love a Soul Eater reboot. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood was sugar, spice and everything nice.
Hot damn that was good. Straight into my top 10 that goes. Anyone who hasn't seen it, go see it, now.
To interest you, this is what it's about.
Sci-fi detective show in a dystopian world. Entire country is run by a single super computer that can scan peoples stress levels, brainwaves etc. and determine their chance of commiting a crime. If the numbers too high, you can be executed on the spot. No crime needs to be committed.
My idea after seeing Soul Eater NOT! probably a captain obvious to everyone else but here's my take on it
Spoiler:
Watching the soul eater, think its a "prequel" maybe like 1 or 2 years prior. This is because it shows Sid as being alive and not a zombie, Spike isn't broken off the building, Justin appears younger. These are the ones I noticed I'm sure there are more in the trailer

Spoiler:
Bulls-eye! Soul Eater NOT! takes place before Soul Eater. Here's a short synapsis from wikipedia to explain why it looks so moe:
The Death Weapon Meister Academy—DWMA for short, is a special institution for humans who are born with the power to turn into weapons, called demon weapons, and the wielders of these weapons, called meisters. While the students of the "EAT" class train themselves to become warriors of justice, the "NOT" class is for those who just want to control their powers with the intent to not become a threat to others and to themselves. Tsugumi Harudori is a halberd demon weapon who takes part in the NOT class and befriends two meisters, Meme Tatane and Anya Hepburn and is indecisive about which one of them to choose as her partner. The series follows the daily lives of Tsugumi and her friends as they learn the ropes of the DWMA and have occasional encounters with the characters of the main series.
It still does not excuse the show for being god awful though.
Yes well, the creators were apparently to subvert the whole harem genre and to point out the extreme consequence of a guy multi-timing on several girls. Seriously this show is utter mind screw on par with NGE.

Ultima Nonon.....Well played Trigger, well played.
I finally got to wtach the latest Kill la Kill last night. Was super stoked to see Mako in action again. Usually I don't care for that archetype, but I really dig it.
Can't wait to see how this plays out.
Interesting seeing talk about Soul Eater NOT! becoming an anime. I've read a bit of the manga as I was a fan of Soul Eater. Now that Soul Eater is officially done, hoping for more out of the spin off. The mood is definitely different and i'm not sure I care for it as much, but that could change.
Right now I'm rewatching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure in anticipation of Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. I seriously can't wait, Stardust Crusaders has always been my favorite part of the manga and I'm really hoping they can do it justice like they did with the first two parts.
It still does not excuse the show for being god awful though.

Personally,I did not think it was not at all. In fact, it almost had no character development and it just took the worst ending from the Visual Novel. I mean I can understand what they were trying to do, but it fails miserable and comes out as poor writing at best.
So I finally Started Naruto... I loving and hating it at the same time. I'm loving the show but I'm hating the cliffhangers right when I need to go to bed! (I have a bedtime I sorta follow, and night is the only time I can really watch it around here)
I find the "Huge Name Brand" anime are an interesting experience. There's gigantic piles of Shonen, and so full of tropes you can almost taste it through your video screen, but at the same time, there's a reason they're popular. Though sometimes the good ones get rather bloated as they continue, as the money 'inspires' the creator to continue the series long past where the story can support it (I'm lookin' at you, DBZ!, Inuyasha!). Others, though, know that they're gonna end, and pace themselves properly so that there's good buildup and anticipation while still continuing on and on. One Piece is one of those, and Naruto is another.
Being someone who reads manga much, much faster than they can watch the show, I can say that the Naruto Manga is shaping up to wrap fairly soon with a pretty good ending. The question here is whether they'll pull a Ruroni Kenshin with it or not.
The real bloat issue the Big Names run into (DBZ, Naruto and Bleach being some of the worst offenders) is the anime catches up to and passes the manga rather quickly, which means FILLER.
In other news.
This is me, watching the latest episode of Kill La Kill.
I am going to be slightly disappointed when this anime ends, and I cannot wait to buy the DVD box set.

Yes, but it seems a bit more interesting than the first one. It seems there are 4 games, we already saw the first 2 (well, you did, I said "feth THIS gak" the moment the first game ended) and the third one has guns in it.
AND the main character is a girl so THAT has to remove the harem from the anime!
Oh, and did I mentioned she has a FREAKIN' SNIPER?! And the existance of Lightsabers?!

You didn't offend me, I just chucked. That show was nothing but good things for me. I can't really place anything I didn't really enjoy or got annoyed at. Thats what makes me enjoy a show. I also don't want anyone to point out flaws I haven't seen. That's what happened to me with sao's first season. I really enjoyed the first 12 or so episodes but then one day I read a review and went stright from liking it to hating myself for liking it. I don't want to feel that way again about a show.
Don't get me wrong. I also think Season 2 of sao was pretty bad at base as a story, but man they wrecked it when they added the heavy and rather unwanted ecchi.

Right I meant in my opinion I didn't enjoy SAO or Log Horizon. I shouldn't have stated it as a matter of fact lol In concept both seemed great to me, even after the first couple of episodes of each I was still really liking SAO and Log Horizon. They just didn't take me to the places I wanted to go : p

That's somewhat similar to what I get when I watch sports anime. They're great shows but I just cant hold interest in them. Made its because their filled with buff guys. Maybe I just don't like sport. Didn't stop the shows like koroko's basket becoming such a big hit.

Yeah, I'm kinda excited for this "SAO".
If you mean the black haired chick with the saber, then (pfft) that is Kirito. He travels with Madam Sniper.....so still harem. Though I would say that the gun gale arc is miles better then the fairy dance arc (effing Leafa, cousin/sister chick ). They start delving into the reprecussions of the death game (Aincrad arc ).
While were still on the subject of Log Horizon, the final episode of this season came out
Spoiler:
It ended on a pretty interesting note for me. Once again it has me intrigued to keep watching it, I just hope the execution improves in the next season. I'd probably give it like 6-7 out of 10

Ya I disliked the individual episodes quite a bit, but the overall story was still pretty good. They also didn't go to far into make the anime just a dating sim or some harem, so they get points for that to.
I can't belive Log Horizon is over, and Kill la Kill is nearly at an end - Started watching Psycho-Pass, and I still need to finish Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, but it's still sad!
But at least LH is getting a second series:
Spoiler:
And Shiroe's leaving Ahikabara, at last! Plus, bigger enemies, hurrah! Mind you, the dark fox-lady at the end was a bit odd and open-ended - I was expecting a bit more resolution than we got.
Still, S2 can't come soon enough!
I don't think they're doing another series of KLK though, at least not that I've heard of - besides, the way they're going,
Spoiler:
I'm not sure they'll leave anyone alive at the end of it!

I like the fox girl, she is definitely and odd one though. I am really hopping the next big event doesn't end up as disappointing as the goblin clash
Another series ended this weekend, I just caught the last episode of Noragami. Still my favorite anime from this season. Hamatora is a close second, and it's last episode is coming up on tuesday!
Spoiler:
I really like what they did with the Villain in Noragami, and the finale was exciting! I thought his motives in the end were surprising and really meaningful. Idk it just struck me as very sad.

Finished ginga kikoutai majestic prince in 2 days, pretty good series, hope it gets a second series.
Now watching needless because I needed some nonsense after all this stuff.
AduroT wrote: Is Noragami a series or season finale? They left a bit of an open end to it there.
The Manga is still going. They left it open for future seasons if it does well. I hope it does since I want to support it. Maybe next season crunchy will be able to stream it in my country so I don't have to watch the show elsewhere.
I really enjoyed Noragami, I really hope for a S2, I want to see more of thise guys
Witchcraft Works ended today too and although I really enjoyed it (DAT ENDING SONG!) I honestly didn't understand a thing. Seriously, I didn't understand the big bad boss plan, the other one's motivation, gak, well, not that it stopped me from loving the anime
And only 1 more Gundam ep. to go...I know this wasn't a "real" Gundam, but wow, it was fantastic how it let me enjoy Mech fights but without the, ya know, Deaths. Mechs kicking the crap out of each other and exploding everywhere and no deaths. Hurray!
Alright so I finally caught up with Kill La Kill. Now I am hype for the last episode, but at the same time, I wonder if it is going to be as bittersweet as Gurren Lagann was...
Funny. Today I listened to a podcast where they were talking about how the Japanese music market is dropping like stone because they are so unfamiliar with digital distribution. Good to see at least one song getting out their legally.
Yeah, I think that's changing, especially as companies like Funimation bring more and more anime to the Western market. Eir Aoi the artist who does "Sirius" has an album up on Amazon and even has a Vevo page.
I've been pleasantly surprised the last few times I've looked for a Japanese artist on Amazon, and I think it's definitely a recent change.

You could change that line to Japan doesn't understand the internet nor consumers. It's been made quite apparent lately.

Well, when it comes to Doujinshi it seems like it. I really wanted to buy several Touhou related Doujinshi Albuns since, well, it's pretty much what I only hear nowadays but ALL of them are only available in japanese only sites with killing postage costs
Ah well, as soon as my friend returns to Japan I hope I'll be able to "use" him
Nooooo!!! I just remembered that Build Fighters and Kill la Kill are just about done. That's the problem with being focused on other things; the disappointment hits you like a ton of bricks. Those are going to be 2 very sad days.
So I finished Witchcraft Works and while the series kinda teased me with it's hard character focus at the start and it's gender roll teasing, it's transition to plot driven was decent, and what was there was enjoyable, if a bit confusing. 7/10.
The double team from hell, Grey Templar. I managed to avoid that situation killing my anime time this semester, but I fear for when I start grad school.
Let us take a moment to remember the joys of this glorious work of animation before the grand finale.
(and yes, I can't freakin' wait to see how it's gonna end, even if I'm sad it will actually end )
Why do I get the feeling it is either going to be a troll ending or a badass ending that is very bittersweet?
Because TRIGGER?
I'm just ticked I have to wait until 2 am to watch it because of delays. How am I supposed to properly react to the ending of an awesome series at two in the morning?
I know! I'll make popcorn! Now if only I had some scotch....

Yes, I too believe ninjas will be chopping onions inside my room. I hope Satsuki makes it, tho ... (Yes, yes, I'm a fething fanboy, screw you )
Whelp, I have to wake up earlier tomorrow to watch it because of all the delays, around 6:30-ish, but ya know what? It's totally worth it.
Kill La Kill's finale got delayed because Trigger are massive cock teases.
Strange+ which I think is a short anime based on a manga took the time to lampoon Sailor Moon with... uh... it's free on CrunchyRoll just go see it for yourself. It's a couple minutes tops so just giggle if you're familiar with SM or a fan.
Meanwhile you might remember my guilty pleasure that I rant and rave about a lot Golden Time. It completed today, and while there was a litte more drama and general weirdness between hiter and yon but it paid off today. Holy feth it paid off in SPADES
This is me, watching today's Golden Time:
8/10
Engaged to the Unidentified also finished up today. A cute little paranormal romcom that could have used more paranormal and more "rom"... the com was pretty decent over all, but it all kinda fell flat by focusing on the com and some of the side characters and sacrificing actual relationship development between Hakuya and Kobeni, the leads. It does not fall prey to my most hated anime trope of no relationship resolution, because the entire anime felt like a long awkward first date, and to get resolution you actually have to start something.
7/10
The Current Purchase List (*= there's a American Release available through Amazon or a similar agent)
Good Luck Girl* (shockingly good dub)
Girls Und Panzer*
Kaze no Stigma*
Claymore*
Toradora! (American Release July 2014)
Kill La Kill
Blast of Tempest (Release exists, but costs a fortune... come on Aniplex!)
Psycho Pass* (Waiting on a Complete series box set)
My purchase list is generally stuff I think is so damn good I want physical copies of it in case the internet dies, I also actively want to give money to the team that made it. It does include the occasional anime like Infinite Stratos that isn't particularly ground breaking but I love any way. Junk. Food. <3
I was actually worried after the 1st half of Golden Time's final episode. I was like "oh man, here comes the bad feels ending.". Then I was like *fist pump*"That is the ending I was suffering the feels for...yes.". Great series.
So far this week, I have watched the finales of D-Frag and Golden Time. Next up is Kill la Kill, and then Gundam Build Fighters. Reminds me of a Frank Sinatra song.
If someone told me I'd once be crying over the death of a sailor suit, I'd laugh.
Well, I wasn't laughing good-bye Senketsu, I'm sure you'll meet Kamina once you reach the heaven reserved for heroes of your caliber.
And after that I'm treated with Satsuki desperate to save Ryuko and make sure she's okay... And then I get to finally her Nee-san... DAT SCENE, good heavens, the dam broke, from tears of sadness to those of joy.
So, it ended. Like TTGL it was beautifully wrapped up, a truly epic ride of hype and awesomeness that I became a total fan of when I saw the first episode all those weeks ago. I can honestly say, no other weekly show I followed ever gave me such intense hype before, this really was one of a kind for me. Thank you, Trigger
Oh, and is anyone surprised when I say this was the best scene in the whole episode? Hell, maybe even season.
Spoiler:
Yeah, I did some sounds I'm not proud of, but there's no way I'd remain neutral with that scene. Eck, no way in 9 hells I'd remain neutral.
Hoitash wrote: Yes, it was quite the ride, although now I'm curious what the ova will cover.

A brief review of Kill La Kill poking at it's deeper themes.
If you want the basic, characters, story, animation, music/sound breakdown then stop right here. 10/10. Which is also my over all review of the anime. If that's all your looking for then you can stop right here, because we're about to go deeper. Spoilers! They're about to happen! So if you've been living under a rock and have yet to finish Kill La Kill... well what the feth are you doing here?
Spoiler:
There's a BUNCH of stuff going on in Kill La Kill, Trigger's surface stuff and trope exploration, made famous with Gurren Lagen, and their trademark Over The Top... everything... is in fine form here, with magical girl anime and their traditional fetishistic/exposing transformation sequence and costuming being one of the most pointed and obvious skewers from square one. Comedy, action, fan/manservice all of this stuff is on display at the surface and can be incredibly distracting from the central theme of the anime.
It all comes down to CLOTHING! I know it's hardly a shocking revelation but it's not in the way you're thinking. It's clothing as a social device that's the central theme here. Remember a lot of Japan is pretty damn clothing concious, Tokyo is one of the fashion capitals of the world and how you dress, and what labels you're wearing can be damning in certain circles, to a further extent then the version of this behavior you see in the U.S. with the epicenters being the American fashion capitals of Los Angeles and New York City.
Take a second and think about your clothing, think about your favorite shirt, your favorite pants, skirt, shoes, what do they say about you to an outside observer? Do they communicate anything in particular? You might not think they do, but when you take a step back and examine your mode of dress you are in fact telling people that you belong to certain groups. Whether it's based on passions such as anime, firearms, video games, the types of music you associate with, rock, punk, rap, or you just happen to only wear a certain brand whether it's Hot Topic or American Eagle. This has been an inescapable facet of human culture for centuries, since we first put clothing on. Ragyou even goes into what we were befor the fibers got their... uh... fabric on us, naked apes, unaware of their nakedness, much like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, now obviously clothing (or life fibers) didn't influence our actual evolution BUT they did influence our social evolution.
From earliest man on clothing, whether it was the red cloaks of the Roman Legion, or the simple jewlery of our further ancestors have been used to distinguish groups within society, while the shape of that society's clothing over all distinguishes that culture from others, fighting against that grain by dressing differently, by adopting a different culture's dress or that of an extreme sub culture (say the Punk style compared to general Western clothing) will get you looked at different and looked down upon by many people.
This social pressure based on how we dress and what we look like, how we present ourselves to those around us, is simply put, conformity. It's subtle, the desire to conform and be like everyone else, it can be lonely on your own, and going with the crowd, not swimming against the current of the social wave has it's benefits doesn't it? Think about what the main wave in your local area wears, in particular think back to High School, when that sort of thing was closer to the surface. For my cohort American Eagle, Nikes, Rebok and a few other "main" brands were what you wore if you were part of the main "group". Ragyou's "Revocs" corporation is set to be just such a brand, albeit on a dominating global level.
So as human beings a very real part of our self identity and personality is caught up in how we dress, how we present ourselves to the world around us. It's why in the United States students fight against dress codes under the concept of freedom of expression (which falls under speech).
Enter Ryukou Matoi and her scissor blade. From the word go she's dressed differently then everyone around her, her flash of red in her hair distinguishes her as well. From the first time she steps on to the grounds of Honnouji Academy she's challenging the social order and rebeling.
This brings us to the central theme of Kill La Kill. Revolution. Not political revolution, but individual revolution. The personal rebellion where you stand up and chose your own path in life. Fighting against the the current and resisting the easy road. Hell the anime LITERALLY tells you every episode with the refrain of "Don't Lose Your Way"
So what happens when everyone is their own revolution? Culture changes. A species changes. At the very least you will change for the better. Within Kill La Kill we see multiple forms of revolution, Satsuki's "change from within the system" playing by her mother's rules while preparing the minds and wills of those who follow her to resist, snd Nudist Beach who take the path of forming an extreme counter culture to fight against the main stream. However as Ryoko fights on, more and more individuals have their own personal revolutions and realizations, the theme of revolution becoming even more obvious once the curtain comes off Satsuki's plan to resist Ragyou's plots with the life fiber aliens. Even Senketsu under goes a personal revolution in how he sees himself, and his place in the world by the end of the anime.
So final word, what is the message of Kill La Kill? What theme does it truly want to present us? IMHO it's just four simple words that I mentioned earlier...
Don't lose your way.
Other stuff that's ended.
Strike the Blood 7/10
It was a little bit generic and some of the arcs really didn't do well for me over all but I had a damn good time and really love a lot of the characters! It's activated my anime pet peeve of a lack of relationship resolution though it did at least give us a hint of a "romantic" ending.
Gin no Saji (Silver Spoon), Second Season 9/10
Fantastic is as fantastic does, a sweet little slice of life with some very real drama and some very well done character arcs. The pet peeve of no romantic arc resolution remains though. Goddess DAMN it Hachi kiss Mikage already. You want to and it's pretty clear she wouldn't mind hell, Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma already have you marked as marriage material. Get with the program.
Sakura Trick - 6/10
It's a cute little romance slice of life with a heaping scoop of fan service ala mode to go with it. It's really disappointing in the end because I was hoping for a heavily character driven lesbian romance and well... I didn't get it.
I love how even in the briefest moments Trigger puts in a bunch of easter egg stuff for the viewers, like how they put in a bunch of stuff in New York.
Spoiler:
Weyland Corp? In my Kill La Kill? Makes you wonder how many other xenos the crew is going to encounter in the future. Also the Bank of Obama and YaPoo! gave me a good couple of chuckles. Lots of Westaboos in Trigger I see...
I enjoyed KLK but IMO TTGL was a much better work of theirs. KLK has some serious issues with Ryuko's development. She's pretty inconsistent as a character. (Just look at episode one and then look at her when she's talking to Aikuro a few episodes later. She starts off asking Mako's brother about kissing a girl in a badass girl way to saying 'YOU ARE A PERVERT' in typical anime fashion.) Their is no reason given for Ryuko making up some new BS move every episode. No matter what happens she wins and you know she will. The show got a lot better in the second half, but it lacked any real theme. The first 8 episodes are just her at school and it seems like the show is commenting about social classes, but then it sort of drops this theme the further you go into the show.
On the other hand TTGL has the same message in almost every episode 'Ignorance is not bliss and hiding the truth for the safety of all life is wrong.' And TTGL combines this theme with the drill which breaks through everything. It breaks through the lies everyone has constructed. Even the episodes with Kamina demonstrate that hiding the truth is never a good thing and you see how hiding the truth and forcing people to not find a solution to a problem is awful. KLK didn't have anything so interesting backing it up except for a lot of cool flashy fight scenes. And I'm ok with that. KLK was a good show, but definitely not the most amazing thing ever. I hope they get better with what they do!

7 ~ 7.5 / 10
Pretty much echoes my feeling on it. It was an Ok series all the way through but it never really shined for me.
Well kill la kill finished! Oh dear the amount of emotions I went through that last episode was awesome. Granted the most reaction I'v had of wanting to cry at an anime was Naruto(yes I know its a maintream one lol)
But yea, looking forward to other stuff coming from Trigger.
Also(bit of a noob here) but whats TTGL?? Sounds like it may be worth a watch going from whats been said here about it.

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagan. And yes, you REALLY want to see it.
I'm not sure what to replace Kill la Kill with for watching. Probably D-Frag. Or just rewatch the whole show and wait for the second season of Love Live. I don't think there was much I wanted to see this coming season, so that should give me a chance to work on my backlog.
Well, I'm interested in plenty of shows this next season but for now, besides finishing a LOT of the current ones (seesh, for my plane trip tomorrow I have the final episode of Samurai Flamenco, No-Rin, Sekai Seifuku - Bouryaku No Zvezda and Wake up, Girls!, not to mention the others that'll end tomorrow, like Nobunagun and Wizard Barristers), I'm gonna start watching Psycho Pass; Minority Report in anime format sounds very promising
Well, as gutted as I am that there's no more KLK or Log Horizon to watch, Psycho pass is pretty good, and I've also tentatively started Fairy Tail - though I suspect it may be too similar to One piece for my liking.
The manga was pretty good, Hiro Mashima (I hope I spelled that right) made it. I can't comment on the anime, but I can say that the manga was very funny, so if they base it on that it should be good.
Interesting note, the main character status is trully shared by the guy (Natsu) and the girl (Lucy). As with anything by Mashima, there are a lot of semi-main characters.
To be honest, I think Fairy Tail's been ok so far, i'm about 5-6 episodes in - "point to point" seems to sum it up well, but it's got it's charms, certainly.
I'm basically using it as filler though, I expect I'll drop it as soon as I find something I want to watch religiously like I did with KLK, Log Horizon or Bleach.
Actually, I just remembered I still have Black Butler and FMA:B still to finish, so I can't complain I've got nothing good to watch!

Heresy! You started FMA:B but didn't complete it?! What kind of monster are you?!
They're all great, but I wish other ones lasted longer. Darker Than Black was really good, but it had only 2 season IIRC. Last Exile was also really good but short.

Let's be fair, season 2 for Darker than black was atrocious.
Let's be fair, season 2 for Darker than black was atrocious.
I guess, better than a lot of the drivel I see though. It was great overall (my favorite character is probably Mao, what an angry cat ), and the first seasons opening music let me find one of my favorite bands.
Last Exile was good through the entire time and I really wish their had been more. It worked a bit like a really good single novel, wraps up the entire story by the end, but it makes you wish it hadn't and another book was coming.
I really liked Last Exile. So I was excited for the second season, but The Silver Fam has been pretty dull and slow. With little explanation of WTF happened between then and now.
CthuluIsSpy wrote: I mean, I know I sometimes complain that anime shows are too short, but damn that's bloated.
While I'm only on Episode 200 of One Piece, it has yet to feel bloated and people who are farther along have been saying the same thing.
They manage to keep it fairly fresh. Usually about 10-15ish episodes per story arc before they move on. Its a nice equilibrium that's been holding fairly steady.
With giant spiked net cannons to tangle the giants up and leave them vulnerable.
Really, even with their hyper regeneration and only 1 weak spot, the giants should have been easy pickings for the modern militaries of Earth. But I expect more about what the heck happened will be revealed later.

They didn't show up on modern earth though. By the looks of it, the titans showed up during a rennaissence / late middle ages-esque period. The current setting is something like industrial revolution / early 20th century.
If it were modern earth, there would have been evidence of structures and old lore and old "legends" about aircraft and what not.
KalashnikovMarine wrote: The artillery they have (siege grade cannon) doesn't seem to do much for them...
That might be because it's not hitting them in the "core" (that bundle of nerves / tissue / whatever at the back of the neck). If the shell was designed to penetrate the target before detonating (like a bolter shell), it would certainly be more effective.

I was under the impression they appeared in the 1900s and humanity quickly regressed technologically because of the devastation.
I think the Titans were some WW2 super soldier experiment gone wrong.
Nazis are probably involved. Annie is blond, coincidence I think not!
Admiral Valerian wrote: Yeah, as if 19th Century-era guns would compare to modern day artillery. And if that don't work...nuke 'em.
Nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
On a side note, I watched the first two episodes of Fam, the silver wing. I think their 3d models/2d animation combo has improved, and I'm 90% sure that one of those ships has a giant chainsaw for a prow.

Well, I have seen many anime endings today but Nobunagun...
Spoiler:
FINALLY! So many animes just keep teasing and teasing and nothing happen,s but this fighting anime, that was filled with pretty much only laughs and cool action with loads of DAKKA is the one that ends beautifully with the 2 MCs kissing and the guy confessing his love.

I'm just waiting for the last episode of Gundpla Builders like everyone else, to wrap up this season. While I wait for my next shows to premier I am watching Ghost Hunt, its just ok. I've been meaning to start the long journey that is Naruto. I do enjoy dubs more than subs when I can help it. Is the dub as unbearable as people say? I heard there was a remake of the dub? Or are both just so awful that I should watch it subbed?
TheDraconicLord wrote: Ok guys, this isn't exacly "anime", but if your heart doesn't melt a bit with this animation, well, I don't think you still have one this is so lovely
Not sure where I've seen that before but its very cute.
So apparently I'd rather attempt to develop croquette technology and rewatch Kill la Kill while waiting for Love Live season 2 rather than start a series in my backlog. At least I know what I'll be doing over the weekend.

Wait, isn't it already a cartoon? Then it wouldn't need to be an anime anyway. Phew, crisis averted.

Ever since Eye Shield 21 I've been a sports anime fan. It's ridiculous how fun they are. I'm eagerly awaiting for 2 this next season, 1 about handball and a tennis one. Those 2 I'm really gonna give them a try.
Oh, and screw you and your Psycho Pass... I'm loving every single minute of it and It's harder and harder to resist the call of watching all the remaining eps in a single night
Edit: aaaand yet another anime that shows me artists are very, very, very scary people...

Yeah, may actually have to try more sports animes now.
As for Psycho Pass.... You are stronger then me, I watched it in 2 days. How far in are you? It has so many amazing little twists.
As for your edit... I wonder if you got to the hammer part.....
Watched fist episode of D-frag, didn't really like it, then I put enough caffeine and sugar into my bloodstream to reanimate Tutankhamun, and NOW I get it - seems I just need to be in a high-energy state
Seeing as how I've been trying to finish painting/building a Revenant Titan, I've been watching Neon Genesis Evangelion again while painting and building it.
Yeah, Trinity Blood's got absolutely gorgeous setpieces, but the story's a little too convoluted and politically involved- it doesn't show what's going on, but rather shows you awesome looking things while talking about what's happening.
I watched the second episode with the female artist serial killer. It ended with the poor girl looking at the dismantled body of her friend and the artist talking to her saying how she's gonna re-create the scene of their reencounter... I'm gonna watch another 2-3 eps tonight too
Reminds me of Cohen from Bioshock... That guy truly scares the gak outta me, and I read the bioshock novel that's a prologue to the game... He was wacky even then, a particular scene mentioning he did some stuff with young boys and octopus... *shiver*
@D-Frag guys - I'm happy you are loving D-Frag few shows made me burst laughing like that one, some of the jokes are that good and Takao....oh man, wait until you see the moe that's Takao.
SilentScreamer, I know what you mean. I liked AoT a lot, but I don't think it's that good. Btw, the MC and pace is a lot better in the mangas, they had to do some padding to have 20 mns episodes so some episodes are brutally slow.
Well Black Lagoon is not finished. The author is still writing them. So more will likely come in the future. Although don't hold your breath as authors can be quite slow.

Ah yes, she is a joy.
Anyway, as to what I said, Hammer time is going to get a new meaning for you.
Grey Templar wrote: Well Black Lagoon is not finished. The author is still writing them. So more will likely come in the future. Although don't hold your breath as authors can be quite slow.
Yep. The author just finished his Hiatus a year ago, iirc.
I personally would like to see more Lotton (Or rather Rotten. Damn you transliteration!)
The fact we never get to see him in action is one of the biggest teases of the show.
Anyway, as to what I said, Hammer time is going to get a new meaning for you.
Damn, Pyscho Pass, damn, I mean, daaaaaamn, and dayyyuuum... it's so beautiful. The plot, the entire situation, the entire view on that particular society, the cons and pros, wow, it's such a well-thought story. I'm at ep. 18 IIRC correctly, I have to resist and save the final eps for the next plane trip this Sunday so I have something to watch. It's gonna be tough.
And PP is making me damn happy certain things are censored:
Spoiler:
I was scared of what was gonna happen when Mr. Bad Guy had the hostage... and he warned he was gonna kill her... and the blade touches her throat... and I cringed, I was half looking away, half attempting to remain focused, and I was truly thankful when the screen goes black and all we hear is her scream. That kind of death really makes me feel uncomfortable.
And the first helmet guy... feth me, that scissor death looked as if it was Joker who did it. Shoving a scissor on his mouth and banging his face on a table?! Sickening ... and the other woman's death, I'm so happy I didn't see any of it: when we see her again and I spot 2 pens, 1 sticking out from each eye-socket, argh, I felt like murdering the helmet fether myself.

I never said it was a nice series. But yeah, told you it was one of the best series I have ever seen, I was not exaggerating.
Well, this season isn't going so well. I only watched 2 new animes so far, both went into my "NOPE" list: Captain Earth and Soul & Blade. IMO, the pacing of both was horrible.
Specially S&B ... jeezus, I felt I watched 3 eps all in one.
Spoiler:
And the quantity of characters presented just to die in a few moments felt like Game of Thrones. "Raaaaw, leave it to me, I'm Ganza the bad-ass" - kills some peasants / civilians, dies...
Soladrin wrote: Yeah I was going to ask, anything catch anyones eyes yet for the spring season?
fairy tail is just what you expect it to be, which is want I wanted .
There are the obivious shows that are expected to be good Mushishi and Jojo's bizare adventures. They're both getting new seasons. Critics seems to be hyping Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii. I haven't seen it yet though. Most of the stuff I was looking forward too hasn't aired yet.
Well, finished Psycho-Pass...one of the best things I ever saw and it's one anime I'll definitely recommend to people who don't like anime because they never gave it a real chance. This was one fantastic crime thriller and oh man, do I love crime thrillers.
@Soladrin - I also saw the first ep of the 2 new sports anime, "Baby Steps" (Tennis) and "Haikyuu!!" (Volleyball ... MEN'S Volleyball, so, unfortunately, no fan-service for me ) and they look pretty good. The characters showed so far were cool, including the support cast, and finally, with a pacing I enjoyed.
Ninja Slayer: Karate Pistol Fist Suicide, the last volume of "Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez'"s Japanese take on the American take on Japanese sci-fi and martials light novel series revealed that Trigger (Kill La Kill, Little Witch Academia... and Inferno Cop!) is attached to the over the top action's upcoming adaptation.
Woopie!
I saw that too. Not sure when its coming out though.
ON another note, I'm getting annoyed at all the shows that aren't available in my region. Time from my revenge! The promotion of illegal sharing will show them!
WHELP, "One week friends" seems to be a shining jewel of an anime that's probably gonna make me spend a few packs of tissues. This is the synopsis:
Kaori Fujimiya is always alone because all of her happy memories, including time spent with her friends, disappear every Monday. Deciding that he wants to be friends with her anyway, Yuuki Hase tries to get close to Kaori each week, wishing that she would one day call him "a friend."
The feels man, the damn feels...
@Ledabot - I saw some more first eps including that one you mentioned it's getting hypped... And I totally see why it's glorious! The girl keeps reminding me of Lina Inverse from Slayers, she has this spunky up-beat attitude I love, the fantasy setting looks gorgeous and the characters were all so fun, eck, the animations and expressions are so diverse. I honestly thought this wasn't gonna be any good when I read what it was about and yet it's now my current favorite from this season.

Heh, glad you loved it as much as me.
Actually watched Hakyuu myself.
That said, I found something to do, started watching Hajime Ippo from the very start.
I swear, the Japanese really know how to do a ton of wonderful things that make jump with joy, but I swear, trailers ARE NOT one of those. BUT, it will make Dakkanauts happy: here's some info about the new Girls und Panzer movie and a trailer.
Edit: ok, I found my hilarious anime for this season "mangaka-san to assistant-san to". Oh, the ammount of laughs I had with the first ep. and thMC is so unique on his own way.
This season is ridiculous! I have been enjoying plenty, but today I saw 2 more that made me go DAYUM.
First, Hisugi no Chaika, or Chaika th coffin princess. The girl is so moe it's ridiculous, even how she speaks, and if that isn't cool enough, she has a big-ass sniper with bolter shells. No, really, the damage that thing does, it must be bolter shells.
The other MCs also look interesting as well, ex-saboteurs from the war with the former Empire from what I gathered.
Then, one that surprised the crap out of me: No Game No Life. This one was the biggest surprise until now by far, even bigger than the really hyped one I mentioned I loved previously.
At first glance, from the resumed plot, I gathered this was gonna suck;boy, was I wrong. A world where everything is decided by games. There are no murders, theft and wars, people seem to have normal jobs, but discussions, conflicts and otherwise actions that would lead to violence are resolved by games. You can bet anything, even your life. The rules and reasons for this are actually explained in a very cool way.
But what really won me were the main characters. The male MC in this first ep was everything: a loving brother who attempted to shield his little sister from a gigantic fall, funny as hell, intelligent and a serious bad-ass when needed.
This season is ridiculous!
P.S: sorry about the (probably) loads of typos, but this message was done on my iPad and I suck using the virtual keyboard
Soooo... I just learned that there are Multiple Demons and Naruto... And Gaara has one inside of him... Oh boy...
Should I skip the one where Naruto's little buddy keeps giving him shortcuts that don't work? I'm not a fan of silly Anime, so I wondered if it was really any good.
Also, I want to make a Naruto costume. Not Naruto himself, but someone from the franchise. Any ideas for a costume of a character withing the first 60 episodes? I was thnking Dosu Kinuta (Sound gauntlet guy with the bandages on his face.) but I don't know how to do the thing on his back.

Oh my. You're getting into quite the ride, aren't you?
Naruto's a mixed bag- the early 'seasons' are a little more Shonen than the later ones- the Shippuden 'filler' 'season' isn't in the manga, but was used by the anime to keep from jumping the timelines- it takes place during a 'time skip' in the Manga- it's more goofy, but I've heard is one of the better 'filler's in Anime. Later, after the time skip, the series gets a lot more "Nakama" focused than the typical Shonen "I'm gonna be the best!" stuff earlier on.
As far as characters go, depending on your age you might want to wait a while- though Might Guy is always a good choice if you can pull off his charming smile.
Not seen That much that's got me really excited. Black Bullet was good last night, as was the new Soul Eater. Were a couple on the weekend I enjoyed but can't recall their names off hand. Will check out Coffin and No Game tonight. Honestly so far everything feels kind of droll in the wake of Kill la Kill...
Never more have I lamented not having a crunchyroll subscription.
I'm tempted to get it for Love Live alone this season. Not that I have a lot of time for watching these days. Blasted job and desire to go to GenCon....

For a second I thought I timetraveled and was 13 again, then I realized you just started watching it.
As for this season, only watched Haikyu so far, gonna check out some of you guys' suggestions this weekend.
I enjoyed The shows that came out today too. Soul eater, Black bullet and No game No life that is.
The NEET character was pushing me back a bit from that show. I just find NEETs a little bit disturbing. Once stuff happened, he stopped being so bad. Maybe, the bags under his eyes will heal now he's not able to live at his pc.
Pretty balling big bro taking the fall for his sis though, though I suspected that they couldn't die if they fell since murder is forbidden by god, and that means the world can't kill ether without a game to allow it.
Black bullet was fun, although I expect that by the end of the show, little bugs like the spider will be getting shot left right and center. It just made me think that he should have been able to handle that way easier than he did.
Soul eater NOT! was interesting. Seeing the old cast redrawn in a different style wasn't super cool though. Black star looked like a beast and was a little off putting. The main character being a weapon will be interesting to see their perspective a little more and be more inside their heads. She needs to work on her edge a bit too.

I understood nothing of what was said. Shonen? Nakama? What??
As far as characters go, I'd be 17 by Halloween when I'd probably be wearing it.
Black Bullet seemed pretty cool, but I can't stand looking at insects, especially spiders. So I don't think its a show I can handle lol I was able to handle psycho pass and claymore fine without cringing, blood is not an issue, but bugs are gross.
So I think the only thing I will be watching this season is Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, the Breakblade "revamp" or "re-edit" or whatever you wanna call it, and the final episode of MSG Unicorn
"Shonen" is a sub-genre of Anime- It's meant to appeal most to young boys, and so focuses on themes of growing up and feelings of being outcast or trying to fit in, and 'winning your place' in a society/competition through personal ability and 'never giving up'. They're strong themes, but many Shonen anime have an unfortunate tendency to keep belaboring the point past its welcome. Shows like YuGiOh and Bleach and the early parts of Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist are Shonen.
"Nakama" is my own appropriation of what's almost a sub-sub-genre of Shonen, in a way. It's a sort of Anime that's focused on themes of Friendship and Family and Loyalty, usually focused around a core cast. Action Harem anime has strong overtones of this, and it's the main theme of anime such as One Piece and Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. There's strong themes of determination, but it's almost always based around the idea of protecting your "Nakama", or "Blood Brothers" in American colloquial terms- people who may or may not be related to you, but for whom you would do anything and can achieve anything. Naruto, in the beginning, is very much about Naruto's own journey to become accepted and to prove his worth in the Leaf village- but as the series progresses, it becomes more about the people he's met and formed bonds with and keeping them safe.

Ah. I see! Thanks for the explanation!
As for costumes I've ruled some. NOT Might guy. Not Rock Lee. Not Naruto Uzamaki. Not Sasuke Uchiha. Not Toad Sage. Not Kankuro. (probably) Not Gaara Not Choji Akamichi. Not Shikamaru Nara. And not The Sound Geniin with the air cannons in his palms. Mostly cause I don't want to wear makeup
Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san is cute AND hilarious! So far my unexpected "Hell yes" this season. If only it wasn't a shorty anime. T_T
Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior is also coming off as rather funny with some potential cute moments.
Blade and Soul has a lot of action which I'm enjoying even if the female lead ripped her fighting style off from God of War wholesale... but it's really not giving me a decent "hook" yet. It's cool, and I'll probably keep watching, but it's gonna need to step it up.
The File of Young Kindaichi Returns - Looks good, decent hook and drama in the first ep, but I'm kinda disappointed in Kindaichi himself. He's got some decent moves so far
Spoiler:
The cell phone trick was excellent modern detective work as far as on the fly tracking work
but I wanna see some proper deductive reasoning and case busting the old school way too!
Nanana's Buried Treasure - Wow! I'm quite sure exactly what they're selling but holy feth I am in and want more of it.
The World Is Still Beautiful - Hmmm, it's goofy, but I'll keep watching it. No real opinion on it so far though.
No Game No Life - Also kinda a "waaaaaat" moment but the first ep was good, feels like it moved kinda fast though
Dai-Shogun - I feel like this one's gonna be popular in certain sectors... like say this thread, the animation's OTT but in a VERY different manner from say, Trigger's stuff. Comedy, action and ALL the fan service.
If Her Flag Breaks - I came into this expecting NOT to like this, but damn me I really do! Holy crap it's cute.

Generi-Hyuuga could be neat, though you'd need 'blank eye' contacts.
OOh! Shino!
Shino or Kiba might be quite easy. I've got the brown hair, and I guess I don't mind the red face paint required to do Kiba. I might have trouble finding a coat with a collar that tall for Shino though
Does anyone know where to get the blue ninja sandals in size 13 though?
I've heard tons of mixed opinions of Attack on Titan, so I finally* gave it a try. I only watched the first episode, but it seemed pretty neat. I'll have to watch a couple more this weekend.

*I'm always behind on watching anime
The premise is interesting but at least in the manga its become a little bogged down in political coups and human issues that draw away from the Titans which was the thing that made it interesting to begin with. The anime's drawing style is definitely nicer than the manga but they added a decent amount of filler given that the manga itself hasn't gone that far.

Ah, I gotcha. We'll see what happens, I suppose. And one of the first things I noticed with the show was the animation. Definitely really nice.
...now, if only those Titans would put on some damned pants, I'd be happy

Well, I'm up to date on D-frag now, and I have to admit I am a confirmed fan now - It's probably the only harem-style one I've seen, but it's quite nice to have a lighter show where the stakes of "losing" don't mean the world literally ends.
Also caught up with the English dubbed Bleach episodes, though I don't really know why I'm bothering anymore... It's a filler arc, but the one that comes after looks equally fatigued as regards plot - mysterious bad guys and new powers, *yawn*...

But... they don't have any genitalia...
Good. I mean, can you imagine what would happen if they did have genitals?
My calculations may be off, but I calculate a 300% increase in Rule 34 fiction.

Bleach is one of those shows that would truly, honestly be better off without the main character. Ichigo is literally such a Marty Stu by this point it's not even funny- He uses a Katana, has "Über Super Dooper powers" above and beyond others, is a 'crossbreed' between pretty much every single different faction/race in the show (Soul Reaper, Hollow, Human, Quincy, heck, I think there's something about him being part Zanbatou for crying out loud), his 'power up' is him
Spoiler:
being faster and his sword turning black
, he's literally the only thing letting the goody guys win Every. Single. Time. etc. etc.
Spoiler:
Whereas characters like Chad- the Gentle Giant, or Orihime the pacifist with the power to destroy reality, or the LAST Quincy (supposedly) or the adopted youngest of a noble family trying to live up to her brother's expectations that Rukia is...
Basically the whole thing would be more interesting if they didn't feel the need to focus everything around Ichigo.

The dub or sub? I watched it when it first came out, and I'm a little weary to check out the dub. Dubs seem to be excellent, or just completely terrible for the anime I have watched.
BTW is your picture of a mini you created? Where is the source of that? It looks sick!

Watching it sub'd. And It's someone cosplaying Commander Cody. I'm no where near that good with making models!
I found this brilliant gem the other day by accident.
Wow, a Zeon-dominated Universal Century looks great. No seriously; a lot of people immigrate to space, and the Federation Government is apparently disbanded/reduced to a Zeon puppet, but those who want to stay on Earth are apparently left in peace. Heck even Bright and Kai (former EFF soldiers) are shown living peacefully although the former is clearly uncomfortable about the Zeon-biased war memorial.
A rough translation of the narration is: With Zeon's victory Gihren now has complete control of the Earth Sphere. Under his leadership Earth quickly recovers from the war. The remnants of the Federation drifted aimlessly after the war, but while some cannot give up the idea of fighting, most adapt to the new peace. Humanity truly is an adaptive species, and despite recent setbacks are continuing to move towards a brilliant future.

It's from a video game, Gihren's Greed. This ending is obtained by conquering the entire Earth Sphere.
This ending is obtained by capturing Jaburo without conquering the Earth Sphere, and Zeon wins by default due to the EFF now leaderless. It's not as grand as the perfect victory, and the scene about that widow waiting for her husband on Earth is heartbreaking, but the scene where the Zeon forces return home to a hero's welcome is great in itself.

I think they did a really good job with the Gundam Franchise video games, at least the early ones. I'm not really a big fan of the dynasty warriors styled ones, but I definitely enjoyed the older ones.
I agree. TBH I was quite pleasantly surprised when I found out about Gihren's Greed, since up to that point I only knew about the Dynasty Warriors-style Gundam games. Maybe I ought to study Japanese next semester, just so I can play the game (there are no English versions apparently).

I loved how they showed Shiro and Aina in this one. Both alternate endings were really cool to watch, though.
As of late, I've been watching far too much anime, pretty much watching most series in under three days... Help me! D: I've Watched Sword Art Online, its so good I've watched it twice, watched Log Horizon, six episodes into Death Note, and watched Infinite Stratos season one and two.
I really loved Infinite Stratos season one, but season two was a bit of a disappointment. Do you guys have any good anime to watch?
I kind of find that hard to believe, especially considering the medium has much greater works like Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the shell, Madoka Magica, and NGE (yes, everyone is going to freak gak on this point, but it changed the medium to a high degree).
And @Tyranid horde, if you want a good SAO, I recommend you try .Hack. Also the monogatari's, starting with Bakemonogatari, as it has the fanservice of IS with gripping story and dialouge. Another over the top mecha anime you might like is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann if you like Infinite Stratos.
Are any of the .Hacks a complete series or do all of them just stop and expect you to play thru a game, sometimes several games, in order to see the ending of the story?

Sign is a stand alone.
What? No it isn't. It leaves a Ton of cliffhangers in the last episode as it leads into a series of games that wrap up the story. Roots does the same thing, and both of them make me not want to watch more because of their lack of resolution in the anime.

I too highly disagree. It was Naruto that made me stop watching anime all together so I'm very biased. I feel there are far too many others that can be said they are better but let's not enter this discussion (and NGE IS one of the best)
Well, I think almost everything I wanted to see this season already began so I think I know who is my favorite villain this season
Spoiler:
That guy is a gentleman and a scholar and an enormous troll I am LOVING Black Bullet thanks to that fether. (oh, and his partner is fantastic as well )
I started Usagi Drop last night... I ended up watching about half the season in a sitting, and my goddess the FEELS. Simply magnificent, the reaction of the family in the first episode to Rin was just heart rending...
I just realized that, "single adult male raises child alone" is a pretty common theme in anime. I wonder why that is...

Fair enough, I watched it when it originally came out and didn't play the games.

They made a another series for ROOTS that continues the story. An you don't have to play the games, they have manga out as well. Although I think it's pretty cool to have a story cross over different forms of mediums like that. But after .sign and Roots, there isn't really any more full fledged series to watch. The only one I can think of that might be worth watching is the one where are the main characters are girls that came out pretty recently.
Glemmy's meteor falls from the sky, and stoic Star Knights go WTF while line soldiers from both sides stop fighting each other and run for the hills
Number One started playing for me when he jumped up. That thing does look like it could cleave anything though. watermelons all over the world cry out in terror. I think it's going to be imposable for our little idiot to not imagine himself stuffed after that chapter.
Technically neither of them have gone all out. Glemmy will probably be forced to use Vollstandig, and then Kenpachi will go Bankai...I imagine Haschwalth being forced to interfere before those two morons blow up the Silbern.
Alright. When you can write a sentence describing a single episode of an anime, and more than half the words are made up, something's gone wrong. Very wrong.
Also, finally doing a KLK binge. Up to about 16. Whoa. But also, reinforcing of my original impressions. KLK is a 'pure' Anime Genre cartoon. It stands out as a really good example of the Anime Genre, but it's still pretty limited into that definition.

What on Earth are you talking about?
I think he was talking about your sentence describing what will happen between Glemmy and Kenpachi.
I agree with everyone else about Black Bullet. The greatest troll so far was the head-in-a-box present...classic.
So this season had more stuff I wanted to watch then I thought, including Nanana's Buried Treasure, which... I don't know how many genres they've mixed together, but it's working.
ok, I have the winner of this season: No Game No Life
I don't care, when an anime makes me cry AND have trouble breathing because I laughed too damn much, it's the winner. A CHARACTER JUST WRYYYYYYYYYYY-ed for feth sake!

The story does have a bit of a dark side to it, but they have a lot of cool little details that really flesh out the world they live in. The first two episodes have been good enough to keep me watching for now
Sidonia is quite meh so far. The animation is pretty crappy, and so many of the characters look so much alike (and I don't even mean all the clones), even for an anime, that I can't keep track of who's who most of the time. The story premise isn't even that original either.
On the other hand I checked out Nanana's Buried Treasure the other day after it was recommended here and that one I like. He first episode made me worried it was going to turn into wacky harem hijinks, but the second episode calmed those fears. This one looks like it could be really fun.

Yeah, that second episode was a game changer for me. I was really "meh" about Nanana until that room. IIt was really damn cool and since that was the "tutorial", I expect greatness!
I'm enjoying Knights of Sidonia so far. Honestly, just the universe makes it interesting to watch: humanity is so fethed,
Mmm I didn't think the over-arching plot was that original at first, but it is actually pretty unique. Saying it is an anime abt humanity fighting for survival against aliens with giant robots doesn't really describe it correctly, at least so far. They have done a good job on adding in a lot of details to make the plot much more substantial than that. There actually hasn't been much action at all, almost all of the episodes have been dedicated to the characters and background. If it stays that way things could be promising. But ya the art style does leave a lot to be desired.
Caught up with Naruto, I thought the Kakashi ANBU arc had finished, sadly was mistaken. Ah well a few weeks more should do it.

Good, good, hope it blows your mind as much as it blew mine. What a brutal anime.
Well, tomorrow it's back to the airplane for me, so in preparation I have "Durarara!!" to watch. I have heard and read many good things about this one and when there was a mention of a second season, I think everyone was pissing their pants in excitement. I'm curious to see if I find this as good as it's hyped.

Was going to watch Black Bullet but its only just started. I like having a buffer of episodes to watch. Started watching Psycho-Pass instead, holy crap that gun is brutal!

They announced a second season? WOHOOOO.
Certainly one of the best things I've watched, enjoy the flight.

It's true I have no idea if it was just a troll or not.
A pity, because although I have only watched 4 eps so far, I'm convinced, it deserves the hype Everything is so refreshing and awesome, including the characters which is always nice! Oh and this glorious scene, this is one heck of a rival for the Falcon Punch
So, I've watched Bakemonogatari and have started the second season of it, whatever monogatari it is. I really enjoyed the series and it was well worth watching so I hope season two is just as good. I also watched My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy which was recommended by a friend of mine and I'd say it's worth watching if you haven't seen it yet.
Oh and finally Black Bullet is really good so far, but I'm just annoyed that I can't run through the series in one go and have to wait for it! The guy with the mask (Hiruko is his name?) is pretty dang awesome. Just going to watch episode three right now.
Black Bullet seems to be advancing the story really fast. I mean this is the kind of situation most animes use for the big climax/finale, and they're only on the third episode.

BB is having this perfect blend of character development, plot and fights that's making me love the show. Oh, and having one AWESOME set of villains helps too. That pair shows up I go "WOOOOOO! HERE WE GO! AWESOME-TIME!"
About Durarara!!: THIS ANIME IS FANTASTIC! I'm actually worried I won't have anything to watch on my flight back because I want to devour this thing!!
Oh, and as big fan of monster-girls:
Spoiler:
Every time I see Shinra getting close to Celty, oh, how I melt with those scenes. Celty is so damn cool and cute, I hope they stay together until the end.

Well, it's official, "No Game No Life" is this season's Kill la Kill for me. What a MAGNIFICENT EPISODE! First, dat Phoenix Wright reference, oh feth me, as a huge PW fan I just lost it, it was fantastic it even had the Judge, damn it!
And if that wasn't enough:
Spoiler:
I cried because I laughed too much, again, this time when he did that first speech to raise the moral of the chess pieces. What a glorious speech, this main character is one of the best ever Oh man, I can't wait for the next episode.

Me must play the ds version of PW so that he gets to yell the objections into the microphone. Plenty of practice.

Late to the show, but ready to go. No Game No Life is this season's D-Frag for me. This last episode was hilarious and zany and awesome.

Yeah, it's turning out to be my favourite of the bunch too, though black bullet isn't too far behind.
I'm in need of some silly anime, with no plot, so I'm thinking "slice of life" anime and humor. I'm finally going back to the gym so I need some stuff I can watch, have fun while I'm using the god-awful boring treadmill, bike, etc, and don't care about the plot because I'm gonna watch it sporadically. I've already watched Hyakku, Non Non Biyori, Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh. Do you guys know any others you recommend? I have been searching and found some names like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, k-on, Minami-ke, Nichijou. Anyone recommends any of those ?
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has a very mind-screwy over-arching theme/plot that would be hard to follow if you're not paying attention, imo.
K-On! is probably a good choice. I am a huge fan of the series, manga, and their music, and as long as you're okay with the theme of "high school girls form a band, screw around more than practice", you're good.
I'd also recommend Yuru Yuri, which is kinda like the lesbian version of Seinfeld.
