i think loki is meant to look like he should get a nice suckerpunch... well he is totally fethed up as a character... a totally spoiled brat and all... honestly... he was rasied as a stepson by odin but he never saw it as a gift... no he only saw it ...: i didn´t get that...i didn´t get this... sif doesn´t love me like she does thor...bla bal bal... odin doesn´t want me to be his next in line for the throne and all that yaddyacking...one punch is surley not enough....
Spoiler:
but we all got a bit of that... remeber that small wheelp of him after hulk had him by his feet? i crapped my pants...^^
and currently i think that downey is a one in a million donkey-cave charming actor...his sherlock is off the scale and stark makes him a true icon for the next fifty something years in cinema history... we currently see a true star in the making!
ok...article said even worldwide...tho...in germany there are not really good comicbook shops around any corner... we have some rare "nerd"shops but that´s it then...
DC and Marvel and the others produce special free issues each year for the day to promote comics in general, it also allows the stores to get rid of old stock. However it's all a good-will gesture to get people in the door, which is cool. I stopepd in and picked up a few of the new GW paints. It's good to support your local store.
Vitruvian XVII wrote:Who's said it sucks ldd? I thought it was fething awesome!
A few people and friends from work, although one is a real hardcore comic fan and said it did not live it up to his expectations, the rest said they felt the movie was lacking something as to what none really could explain it
I will wait for DVD release and watch it me thinks, free comic day never heard that before RW empty the store mate cant wait to see you on a episode of cops
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do next...I have some obligatory things to finish
1. Galorn's wall sections
2. Madmarty's sniper base
3. miniart diorama ruins for IPMS-USA
I should really finish those first
..But I can assure readers that there will be more steamcontraptions eventually, I really enjoyed the freedom you get from Steampunk designs.
now that is music to my ears...if this was sound i could have heard^^
more steampunk good ness from dave! mybe we yet get to see a big sized tank done by him...now that would be cool!^^
my only major weak point of the avengers movie is the character of the hawkeye...aka clint barton... being a hardcore comic book nerd for the last two decades i think the actors choice for him was not ideal so to say... and the spotlight time he got certainly didn´t help that issue too... after all he led for more then i can remember the westcoast avengers team and all... beside... formation of the team was a whole different lineup as the old comic used.... which bugged me no end...
Might be behind, but the Avengers were glorious, even in german dubbing. Haven't spoken to anybody who didn't like it and it seems like everybody has seen it.
You can't expect the new movies to be "just like" the comics, that's a sure fire way to be dissapointed. You have to view them as a reboot, a fresh new take on an old classic. Besides, if everyione wore tights it would be extremely cheesy.
ok...no tights i can live with... but a dark and quiet clint barton... now where is the point of that? even banner made some witty jokes... ????
what made me laugh a bit sourly was that cap was as if he had a stick in his rear... he is so straight... no easy goings with this man... he needs to relax a bit...^^
lol... vitruvian...yep you sure are right about that...^^
ever remeber the John walker persona? he sure had guts... brutal vicsious and mean... that guy could kick like a mule^^...and i even liked his costume better^^
I'm glad they made the Avengers all disfunctional in the beginning, it highlighted how different they all are, different motives, different outlooks...Until it was time to go to work.

that!
i started comic book reading with supes and batman... but after my first marvel i was stcuk with them... they are all around torn, abused and mentally fragile personalities...the lot of them... way more realistic then DC comic heros... all up front supes... (yeah i know they complicated him nowadays...but hey i am an eighties/ninties kinda comic geek...!)

Recycled PC Parts man!
Just one of MANY lego exhibit photos- Henry Ford's Model T factory...(only problem is, you could get a Model T in any color you wanted, as long as it was Black )
Many pics of this Steam Locomotive too...The whole museum was built AROUND this train 1:1 Scale Bumblebee was pretty sweet to see in the lobby.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Finally home...I'm hung-over/tired but I thought I'd share my Weird Al road trip weekend scores
Automatically Appended Next Post: Why Empire?? You ask??
Well, I have an oldschool Empire mishmash of stuff (in different stages of being done) already- never even tried playing Fantasy though..
I use it all the time, you need to coat both surfaces and place them together quickly, or put it on thick, and clean up the spooge before it dries. You'll get in the habit of dropping the brush back in the bottle to be quick...just don't get in the habit of forgetting and leaving it open...it gets thick and gakky if it dries out.
..You can also use it like thin CA, brush it on the crack, wiggle the part and let capilliary action take over....watch out for runs and puddles though..they show up after painting.
The plastruct stuff, is very thin, so it is a bit of a learning curve, especially when you are like me, and prefer the thickness of old-skool testors You'll get it in no time.
mxwllmdr wrote:Yes. I must get better at glue discipline....
Getting the perfect amount of glue on a mini is a bitch, but oh so satisfying when you get it Juuust right.
It is especially a bitch when that mini is a scratch because the PC is way more reactive than standard mini plastic.
Dave, I just noticed the WHFB Giant up there. I love that model, too. I used to have one but gave it to a buddy to put in his army. It had been given to me so I figured it fair...
IIRC that model comes with one of those skeleton filled cages?
That was the first model T they're building Dave. They realised skull white had crap coverage so they switched to black for the rest
Loco's look sweet, both the real and the lego.
I almost always go the capillary action route when using plasticweld. And I've always found the main reason to ensure the rop's gone back on is that otherwise you find yourself living in solvent fumes for a day or two, wondering why you're not feeling so good. Never had it thicken up on me though.
Yeah, digging the Lego Diesal. I need to add a few Lego Trains to my collection. trying to get the early 90's Metro passenger train on Ebay is a nightmare.....
If you have the set#- I can get you the instructions for it...that along with special parts from bricklink would probably be much cheaper than trying to get the original set.
I have looked at Bricking it myself too. I think it may be an option as I really want to build the city table I have been planning for so many years. I have an old shipyard set too that I want to incorporate but need to replace parts for....
It is set #7938.
I also want that train you just got. The Maersk. It is wicked. and this one too:
Automatically Appended Next Post: I also have this one:
And the earlier version of this shipyard:
Oh man...you can still get 7938!
http://search2.lego.com/?q=7938&lang=2057&cc=US 4558 would be hard to DIY, that set has a LOT of rare parts, if not exclusive to it. Besides, 4558 was the old electric, and 2 generations of r/c since then.
7898 is the 1st gen R/C

hey dave.... hope you are fully recovered by now! at frst i thought you have told yor bosses at work what´s what and then slain some PC´s for good measure
that bumblebee! my favorite transformer...i just like his witty humor done by radio sounds!
and mate... that quote from Ford i always quote in RL...i think that man new it all when he said this... and i like that spirit of product tyranny that is rooted deep inside this quote... nowadays i think we sometimes have way too many choices... sometimes simplyfying things is much helping then offering more...
I bought her for my GF..her main WOW toon is a female Dwarf, and she's a big GW Dwarf fan, but has always been pissed because they never made females who took the Slayer Oath
Hahaha, some inspiration from twospartan, by any chance? Can't wait to see where you go with these. And Moira Brown is still my absolute favourite FO character - it was such a fun, irreverent mission, and such a great way to discover the world a little. "I even stitched a smiley face in there to help keep your spirits up!"

and...

-You guys act like you've never seen a stacked, short girl before!...And you're all liars if you say they aren't a bit hawt
that IS the disturbing part... i think her upfront features are really ...inspiring... and this is making me feel akward...well to be honest... i have a thing for tall women... ranging around the 1.80 meter range... my wife is 1.86 (me too) and thus a dwarf is a bit weird ... never was into smaller women to be honest... i like a woman that doesn´t look all frail and instantly needs to be helped or protected with everything...
nope... didn´t mean to say that i think short girls are weak... nothing could be more wrong... i have meat quite some strong powerhouse women that werent that tall... well it is not really a good thing to argue about taste...
and i think i am not that good with names when it comes down to FO... by the way... i couldn´t start any DLC content now... completed the game tho yesterday... died saving the postapocalyptic world...hurray!!!
lol, ahh well.. i knew i would have to get it eventually... usually the second i get extra $$ i throw it at minis, leaving me to have to waite till holidays and birthdays hoping people know i want a certain game.. or 6
Fun thing about the PC version is you can enable the expansions without even having them, though you don't get their content just the triggers for them. So in NV you can run around with the ad for that hotel that's in one of them, but never actually get to it.
hey dave... it is quite frightening how you know my modus operandi when installing games
and guess what...i had a look in the second dvd of the game and guess again...the dlc content was all there... now i start a new game and it is even worthwhile now^^
nice one there shaso...does this count as giving an addicted even more drugs? LOL...tho not everything is that super duper from vinnie... he has some ...strange humor on some models of his...
and yeah RW... gear up to join the wastelands!!! when i have finally played through FO3 again i will stretch out my tendrils for new vegas...
i do know that... but an abe or a washington in my nether regions i think would still be akward...well of course one has to take into account who´s hand it is that gets the money there... depends on the person i think
by the way... my game now gives me every access to the DLC...^^ already i am on my way to the point lookout ... the fact that there are new guns is making it worthwhile even now!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Maybe Vik...but why torture myself trying to reproduce something that is already available? I'd never live up to that mini..it's already perfect IMHO.
Oh how cool is this? I was taking the garbage out to the road before bed, when this big box from Megahobby appeared on the doorstep!
I didn't even hear the delivery guy..I wonder when he dropped it off?
Yeah..learning TONS of good stuff already in the Evergreen book alone, at least in the little while I skimmed it sitting on the golden throne Tools recommendations, techniques, and chock full of different advanced tools and techniques as well as case studies on everything from train cars, to buildings, to boats, tanks, painting...realy good stuff!
your suply guy leaves something as valuable on your doorstep??? either america is way more secure than i thought...or you got way dumber delivery guys around than we have... that would have been nicked all in the open here in no time... heck...my favorite radio station once made a game... they put a netcam out and left a bicycle standing all unlocked and waited how long it took till it got nicked... well it was rather depressing in some areas how quickly it found a new home...
the books look very good... you already mentioned that you wanted to get the imagination book...quite quick in delivery too i have to say...
the new materials look very promnising... lots of ladders i see there^^ that seems as if you have something up your sleave
I'd expect them to get him to sign something, usually how it goes. If you're not there they leave a paper telling you to come pick it up from the nearest post office.
Now I'm getting the image of the van sliding through his yard, guy thrown out the front window, tossing the box at the door and a helicopter picking him up for some reason.
I so envy your supply drops you will have to let us know whats worth the investment I am quite keen to know if the airbrush techniques book has any good tips

Landmines might not be legal, but that doesn't mean people don't use them. And Texans...They're freaking crazy! Just kidding, but when it comes to gun collecting, they put even Montanans to shame!
I dunno..I don't think even Texans are that crazy. It's not like you can just go buy landmines anywhere. Something about being banned by the Geneva Convention and all
well that´s the point, eh? making holes... in the ground...in people...whatever^^...
pungi-stick traps....man that is so fetheed up... i bet someone out there really does this stuff... and one dark day a small kid steps inside...and all hell breaks loose...

Vik, in the woods, no one can hear you scream....if no ones hears the screams, not one comes looking. If no one comes looking...no hell breaks loose. (You know...in theory.)
Just for clarification, I do not live in the woods. I'm not saying I don't have boobie-traps though.
..anyways...nice day today- we went to our small, local comic convention, got a few neat things.
Issues 1-6 of Black Rose, a steampunk fantasy series, signed by the author, illustrator, and inker
a 1:10 scale Japanese articulated Mega Man model kit
and a 24-hour western comic...The Author Signed the back and drew my GF and I on the back in the style of the book!
I always wondered what the people on here look like in reality at least I know what Dave looks like is that a bold patch on top there Dave I also have that T-shirt mate
oh..The only other kit they had was of some girl in pink. I wasn't interested personally. Normally, I am not interested in anime anything, but I've spent a lot of hours cussing at the first couple of MegaMan games
Automatically Appended Next Post: ..In the US, I think we had Megaman 1-3 and then no more releases until Megaman X for some reason.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Roll...that was her name, the girl in pink...never heard of her. The Japanese translations to english are always amusing though
Automatically Appended Next Post: Now..I've built a LOT of model kits in my day, but this is the first time I've ever built a kit that is this well engineered!
The Blue sprues are Styrene
The light blue sprues are ABS plastic (like Lego)
The grey sprue is a soft plastic, for friction in the moving joints
The dark blue sprue is some sort of really strong resin
It is amazing how well all these different materials snap together with complete accuracy!
NO GLUE!!

These kits would be worth buying even if the brilliant joint sysem was all a person used in their own scratchbuilds!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Here it is..no glue, no paint, just right Out Of the Box with all the options!
Ah Dave, welcome to the world of Japanese multi-pose kits! I used to build Gundams, and have a model as a gag gift from friends from the Gundam Fighter series, a sailor outfitted female piloted Gundam that was supposed to represent Switzerland and uses laser ribbons to beat her opponents with,,,how like the Olympics!
sorry mates was no game the last weekend... let me just say that i sat at the throne more than i care to talk about...
seems i have missed out on yet another fine suply drop... the comics looks rather delicious... more like graphic novels? and very much into the spirit of steampunk... i say...the bug of streampunk has bitten you now quite hard it seems^^
the 24 h comic... sounds like a fun thing... and with that very personal signing of that artist it is something totally special...
and to make everything even more awsome you had to come up with a megaman model! looks really good...and like you stated it looks for one worth its money... the conversion properties are rather straight forward... i say you could use this almost right away as a knight... or any other thing you may want it for... only thing with all these japaneese model kits is...they lack serious riveting
cheers, vik
oh...and your review on the iron man kit was a really good read! short...straight to the point and the right kind of information one would want about such a kit...!
well... steampunk certainly is something that might be right up your alley as it has so much of that hand made spirit that i come of late to associate with your personality really...!
I have long dreamed of building the pre heresy Dies Irae from "storm of iron" for my Iron warriors. But also, I need to start some projects for portfolio work. and I need something as a sideline so I don't get bored with my nids. that and mail orders are taking forever to get here.
AnUnearthlyChilde wrote:Thanks Vit, I was going on double the Reavers height. so that would have been 32" so good to know my early ideas aren't far out lol
Oh a true Warlord is a tad more higher that double the Reaver. And more about more like a good 42" or so high.
IF one were to build an Imperator, no that is a rather BIG boy! A good 64-70" tall!! But oh the rivet-mania that would encourage in your building!
fool us? well you would feel th paddle for not riveting a titan...and i am not fooling you
as for childes titan... seems we have reached a season for titans to grow in...^^
and dave? you really think so...you not being ready for such a build? not interested i could go with... but up to? no way...
and max... don´t bother with a wig... tho bald as a baby bum... keep proud ...think about the accent of men... we lost most of our hair... we don´t need it anymore... we balding men are one step on the evolutional ladder... beside... testosterone is the main reason to loose top hair... so the manly men have less top hair...

Anyway, seeing as it was you who led me to buy a Moebius Iron Man myself, I thought you might want to see how I'm tackling the paint job It's not done yet, but I'm getting there, still needs some black lining and weathering before doing some OSL on the ARC reactor, eyes and repulsor My Iron man gallery http://s535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Iron%20Man/
