When you say uncleaned... what do you mean exactly? Flash and mould lines? If so, I'd actually prefer to see them in the raw. But I want to see the IE the most.

Wave 3 is apparently also being shipped out now, one person in the KS comments section got a shipping notification, so the end is nigh.

They always said wave 3 stuff would start going out as soon as they had enough to complete individual orders

so it does not necessarily mean all wave 3 stuff is finished and in hand (it might only be a single wave 3 mini depending on what else the person ordered)

I have the Shewerewolves and a bunch of later stuff, plus my friend Neko ordered a bunch of gak during the "Second chance" we got before Christmas, so I'm guessing my big box will be one of the last to ship out.

I should really get these Space Wolves painted in the meantime...

Without even a shower to get rid of the box-stink? Eww. That's decidedly nondelicious.

Thanks for the pics.

Is it me, or did they cast one of the heads in the gap between two legs? I can't believe the French don't have the same idiom which loosely translates as "having your head up your a$$."

That's a lot of connection points. And I do hope their game requires a smallish amount of minis, because that same dynamic running pose for the legs is going to become repetitive, at two per squad.

Not just one, I suppose that's some extreme space saving measures. Yeah, the running legs could be a bit of a problem, but I hope the rest being completely customizable with ball joints will somehow get around that.

I'll see in.. a year? I have no idea.

Wow Brook - Wow.

I'm a single wave sucker - I sent them a message asking about status of deliveries as I was only in on Heroines and Troop boxes and have had zilch by way of reply.

The Sisters imagery is not doing much for me personally, but the run of not Dark Elves imagery they put out the other day had me leaning forward - those do look nice, just not nice enough to replace the negative view I established of them after backing this one.

Chances are they'll try and ship out as much as possible before kicking of the next saga, that way you can wow the people with the rewards of the first project and use that as a means of drawing them into backing another one.

Next update will most likely be a "that's all folks" and a link to the next one.

I'm starting to wonder if it's not the case. Not with this one specifically, but with KS in general. How many companies ween themselves off of it? And how many companies go on to being available through the mainstream?

It is quite possible that my anecdotal evidence is not representative of the market in general (wouldn't that be something, eh?) but even massive hits like Zombicide barely move stock at local FLGS.

It is an interesting perspective which I am wondering, some companies may not aim for mainstream, some may prefer to sacrifice mainstream for larger margin from kickstarter, some may work their way to mainstream slowly, KS is still a new thing really and most of its impact is yet to be seen for me.

Especially since those bikes were, IMHO, sub par in conception. Maybe they will turn out great, but they seem impractical and over-festooned with details. The Infinity bikes are much better, IMHO again.

I wonder what could be holding my shipment back, aside from my attitude. By all accounts, all the minis are done. Except maybe that one single dude.

And the end of an era has arrived, earlier today I received my pledge at long last!

First impressions are okay, she'll require some cleanup here and there, plus parts of the model have a darker coloured metal for some reason. Impurities of the metal used with the cast? Well, as long as it can hold paint I'm not bothered by it. Some of the details are perhaps a bit soft, quite a few of the many purity seals she's festooned with are somewhat lacking in detail, especially the ones on her lightning claws. The logo and text on the back of her coat are sharp though.

She'll sadly go onto the pile of shame for some time to come, or at least until I can figure out what to do with her now.

There's also..

Tank commander Elektra something-stein! Great quality cast, really clean with no moldlines whatsoever. She thankfully won't end up on the pile of shame, instead she'll soon be built and painted up to become the decoration of one of my Imperial Knights; a cocky pilot posing in front of her suit of armour.

Is that all you've bought BrookM? Or is it just the last piece of it? Please post the finished Eisenstein, I want o use her as tank commander instead. Hopefully she fits into a Leman Russ cupola.

I guess this means the final wave really is upon us. I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer as I ordered those in resin, so I will be holding the entire dropship back.

Post by: BrookM

I fear you may need to trim Eisenstein a lot. Also, she's holding a sword across her back, which may make fitting her through a cupola even harder.

I initially only bought Wolfenstein (due to me being both a sceptic and not having a job at the time, thus not having a lot of spending cash), but I decided to make use of their thing they had last year and order a few more minis (Doctor von X, Hilda von Stroheim, Severina Madsen and Elektra Eisenstein), which came in over time. But as of today, I'm done with this one, I've gone over to the KS site and officially checked the box to let them know I've received my stuff. All that I'm waiting for now is.. Kingdom Death Monster.

I'll be buying more minis later this year, a Jailbird mecha at the very least, whenever it goes on-line in their store, along with some other support personal models for my Solar Auxilia.

All said and done, the mini's are nice, yes-yes, but not "almost two years of waiting" nice and I'm standing by that statement. Then again, I am a minority who should die in a fire.

Dang, didn't know about an swords. Although I did plan to just chop her in half. We'll see. This and Wolfenstein are tomorrow's problems for now.

Yeah, she's holding the sword in both hands behind her back, it's a somewhat awkward pose and not how I'd hold a sword myself, but oh well..

I've also discovered that on my Eisenstein some of the smaller details are nowhere near as sharp as the render shown above: the medals on her shoulder are all almost featureless, same with the coat details across her abdomen. Minor stuff I know, but ehhhh..

Yeah I was also thinking about using her as Pask, when the sculpt came out with the big sword I figured I'd just steal the rather fancy hat version of the head and stick it on a body that will fit into a cupola without quite so much work.

The peaked cap version is a nice one as well, with the windswept hair, that one will go nicely with my next batch of veterans whenever the other heads arrive.

Here's my Eisenstein btw, clipped her tab into a peg and drilled a hole into the base of my WIP Errant:

Also decided to stick together Wolfenstein, not sure what to do with her just yet. I did stick her on a slightly larger base because well.. her scenic stand needs it.

I may just use her as a Space Marine Centurion stand-in, so long as they have access to lightning claws. Maybe I'll make her Alpha Legion, seeing as she's got a skull and snake on her back.

Centurions don't get lightning claws.

Too bad your Knight is already assembled, or she could be standing in the hatch.

I've actually held stuff in that pose, both a sword, swagger stick and a rifle, it can be kinda comfy in some circumstances, and if done right can give you a kinda cool look (with the swagger stick any way). It's about as combat effective as trying to work a weapon's trigger with your tongue though.

For me it's not about combat effectiveness, but rather, she's holding it by the teeth, if it's a chainsword. Not that it's the end of the world, I rather like the pose, it fits with what I have in mind for the girl, being an Imperial Noble and all that.

The graphic novel and the plot point campaign book.

Both of them were well communicated; I think Shane responded within 24 hours to each complaint and addressed them all (usually by editing and clarifying the information already presented). The SGs were good, there were no huge mysteries of consequence, and all the mechanics (who would be writing, drawing, manufacturing the products) were all spelled out up front. (Not going to lie, getting Bronze Age to do the SG minis was a huge draw for me.)

Supposedly the PDF of the supplement will be in our hands (so to speak) by week's end.

One of the problems with having an artist in charge of the project I suppose, it keeps getting refined, tweaked and whatnot until you keep overshooting that deadline.

I fear if its not out before 9th.. a potential market might be less.. as if the rumours are accurate.. will Dark Elves be relevant to Warhammer players who might have jumped in on it?

I will be watching it though.. a really good selection of sci-fi Dark Elves.. that don't just look like fantasy warriors with guns added on, might get me looking at Dark Eldar again.

Well, I think at this point they've moved beyond trying to be an alternative to 40k models first and foremost.

Despite not having interest in either army, I do have high hopes that Raging Heroes will not pull a Mantic and simply stick one or two sci-fi bits onto their fantasy models and call it a day.

Full text of update:

In this episode, we give you some good news, we announce the dates of our next Kickstarter, and we make it a BlitzKick!

The Good News

Let's be frank here: we have to do a new Kickstarter now if we want to ensure the future of Raging Heroes. Yet we know that some of you might feel frustrated about this if you haven't received any TGG minis yet. This is the case if you chose to go for our most economical shipment system (get everything once it's ready) to make a better deal, and so you have not yet seen anything.

So we want to give you a gift.
We want you to see that the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy are really happening, and that the minis are great! Watch your mailbox starting next week! We have packed and are about to ship all eligible backers (over 90% of you) your full set of Freebies*.

The full set of Freebies contains 14 minis, a retail value of $185!

We are picking up the packing&shipping cost for this, worth over $11,000...

We hope that you'll love those minis.
We hope this bonus shipment will help you wait for your final shipment.
Maybe this will make you get out your paintbrushes.
Maybe this will make you want to support us again for our new Kickstarter.
No matter what, we value your trust in us and your continuing support, and we are so happy to have you be part of the Raging Heroes adventures.

*NB: You are getting the 14 Freebies if you pledged at Lieutenant Box or above. Also, If you've already received the first 5 Freebies in a previous Wave, you will receive the remaining 9.

New KS special deal for you, our TGG backers

If you choose to support us on our next Kickstarter, please note that there will be an additional special deal reserved exclusively for our present TGG backers.

So stay tuned for more details, and to make sure you don't miss anything, don't hesitate to

The DATE: Our next Kickstarter is launching on MARCH 25!!! With Early Bird pledges, of course!

So here it is: our Dark Elves and our Sisters Kickstarter will run from March 25 to April 8.

It is called TGG2: Darkness and Light (follow the link for the latest until we launch).

It will only last 2 weeks! We've nicknamed it the BlitzKick...

It will feature 6 armies: 3 in Fantasy, 3 in Sci-Fi (following army names may still change):

Fantasy:

1 - Dark Elves
2 - Lust Elves (a sub-tribe of our regular Dark Elves who have made lust and death their religion)
3 - Sisters of the Orphanage
Science-Fiction:

4 - Void Elves Hunters
5 - Void Elves Flesh Reapers, (a sub-tribe of our regular Void Elves who have made lust and death their religion)
6 - Sisters of the Eternal Mercy

Feedback

Just wanted to share some messages from the many we receive and see on the Web:

“The Dark Elves are one of my favourite fantasy races. They are a long time running project and I have collected and partly painted miniatures from different ranges - mostly Grenadier and Games Workshop. But this is the range I am waiting for. One or two years ago I saw and bought the first Blood Vestals from Raging Heroes (the best possible WitchElves ever in my eyes) and they are simply amazing. This new KickStarter will fulfil some of my dreams and I am happy that I saved some money over the last month just for this project. I also backed the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy from Raging Heroes and received the first two waves and the quality of the miniatures and the castings is fantastic. Come on Raging Heroes - I am prepared for this KS - Let the beauties come and take my money.” - Elmar Fischer on Facebook shared Raging Heroes's album (February 28)

"The figures certainly live up to my expectations! the detail is really crisp and I can't wait to paint these girls up actually the detail is so fine that I'm a bit nervous of how to paint them without loosing this awesome detail work on these figures." Lauge Andreasen, about his TGG figs (email - January)

"I've just received my order and wanted to say thank you so much for making these mini's, they are so much better in the flesh so to speak than I thought they would be. The poses and details to be found on them are some of the best I've seen in a long time. These are going to be a delight to paint and can't wait for me to get some colour on them. Thank you again for making TGG some of the sweetest models to stride over the battlefield." Bernadette Hugues (via email - March 3rd)

Aye was just skimming the update, the unnerving part I took from it though was 'we have to do a new Kickstarter now if we want to ensure the future of Raging Heroes'. Sounds almost like someone didn't take into account just how much the casting of the big bits was going to cost, those are the parts we haven't seen yet after all.

Aye. I'm guessing that bit is done and paid for. Casting companies don't take promises after all, that material not cheap. Being able to drop $11,000 on making the backers happy is a positive sign though imho, so no need to panic immediately. Once we're all sorted, they can start getting into distro of all those awesome new TGG pieces they've got.

As for the campaign, hopefully this go round is a bit more "tight" but with six total armies I really do wonder about this. Much as I am annoyed with them, I do want to see them succeed, they have a wonderful style and I think such things should be rewarded and thrive in a just world, but if they stab themselves in the gut on this one they'll be stuck in the KS vortex, and they'll never really get the chance to escape and resume normal retail operations.

So despite paying wave shipping I have nothing yet as the products aren't ready. I didn't qualify for any freebies with my pledge so I will be receiving none of those either. Now they are starting a new kickstarter.

Quite frankly they can go fornicate themselves if the think they are getting another penny out of me.

6 armies and a 2-week campaign? Looks like I'll be in for a basic PM-access pledge. That's the thing about long campaigns - they might have a bit of a "dead spot" in the middle, but they also last long enough for people to allocate the money - and mine is already allocated elsewhere for the next few weeks.

...I should probably open my W1-2 box and see what's actually inside. Maybe in 2 weeks when I have some time off for Easter.

Six armies, even with minimal variations and a 2 weeks campaign will likely result in close to 200 minis, or a little lower but with those big pieces requiring a bit more cash from them. I hope they don't do the same thing or re-ordering a bunch of prints because they've learned so much between sending it to the printer and receiving them.

I'm hoping they're smart enough to keep it to a limited number of units per army, say 4-5 heroines, troops, command, heavies, special.

I'm probably in for a PM access pledge. I just want some not SOB heroines. The concept art for the not SOB troops hasn't really engaged me much so far.

I'm not sure if I can see 200 minis being funded. The quality of the TGG models is supposed to be lovely, but a 2-week campaign and the way that TGG was handled won't do them any favours. I think 6 armies is about 4 too many.

Yeah - a two week campaign should definitely focus on 2 armies tops. Trying to do 6 armies in two weeks sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Also - I like that normal Dark Elves apparently aren't dark enough - we apparently need a special subset of especially lusty Dark Elves. When only the sluttiest of elves will do!

I kind of thought they were going to horn in on the Daemonettes' turf with that one.

On the plus side, the fantasy ones will probably be the same as the scifi variants, with just a different set of accessories and an alternate hat, (like the models they already sell) which will probably cut down on the time factor involved.

1. Shipping out the freebies is not what I expected, it is however a nice gesture of good will, especially seeing as they're the ones paying for it.

2. Six armies in two weeks, this will be interesting. I think they're hoping to replicate the quick-fund wonder of their first one where they managed to get funded in mere minutes. Only time will tell..

3. Well now, we've also got solid dates now, so it is time for me to go to work.

Perhaps, but given RH's track record, I could see the fantasy and sci-fi versions of the figures being (or becoming) significantly different - and potentially a large number of their unique heroes that won't cross over from the two subgenres.

Your work is simply amazing - I just got one of your models at the weekend and am really enjoying painting her. One question though, my apologies if it's already been answered, though I can't trawl through 286 pages! Will you be moving to plastic at any point? I find it easier to work than metal, and less likely to bend as the metal model that I have, has.

Thanks!

We'll see how this all turns out. Though the "we have to do a new Kickstarter now if we want to ensure the future of Raging Heroes" line did sound somewhat dire. They didn't specify either way. I would assume they would parallel the metal and resin and the same time but that's purely conjecture.

I fear that RH has all but run out of money, due to the extended quest for artistic perfection that TGG became, not to mention their own comments about finance. Unfortunately, this might mean that they fall into the endless KS cycle, seemingly unable to do anything outside of a KS, and always needing another KS to pay their current bills (like Mierce).

And let's face it, even if it weren't RH, who always took a little longer to do things (unlike AoW - who take a LOT longer) the inevitable unforeseen delays of KS mean that at (or towards) the end of this next one, they might be in even more dire trouble. Obviously I hope not, since they're very good at making lovely models, but it's a real concern.

Not sure if rushed is the proper word though, this is something they have been wanting to run for well over a year or so now from what I recall from previous KS updates.

But, I guess we'll see how this is going to pan out soon enough, just twelve more days until.. something-day!

Well, they have been talking about this for a while. However, it's that time of year and they've probably been looking through their finances and have realised that they've burnt through more of the money than they thought with the resculpts and scrapping of product when they decided they didn't like it.

The fact that it's only a two week campaign does suggest that they're more focused on getting a cash injection than doing things correctly and delivering fully on the six armies that they're now talking about. Two weeks, starting from the end of March means that they'll likely have the cash in their bank by mid-April to keep funding the production of TGG.

Of course, this may all just be seeing RH in a bad light, when they've thought it all out and decided to do a short campaign to try and avoid the mid-campaign lull. With any suggestion that they need this campaign now to keep the company going just being down to not being native English speakers who're just super excited to get the news out there and update backers as quickly as possible.

Had absolutely nothing so far from this one which is disapointing and so I won't be backing any more of their KStarters - I may get Dark Elf and Sisters minis via retail depending on the final prodcut and if it ever arrives.

I like their retail Dark Elves alot but lines like "to ensure the future of RH" is a major turn off.

I think to equate "to ensure the future of RH" with OMG they are out of money and won't be able to fulfil the TTG KS is probably wrong (although it might not be)

I think it's much more likely an unfortunate (possibly translation related) statement along the lines of 'give us pledges and we'll make all sorts of new cool stuff'

or at worse it indicates that enough of the TTG money is gone that they'd have to scale back to their previous size and have to let the extra 3d artists, tumblr techs and (not too good) communications folk go,

but of course nobody but them knows, I guess we'll wait and see

From the comments, oh wow, emphasis mine:

Well I feel I must leave a comment (first time commenting).

After the previous update stating that wave 2 has been shipped and everyone should have received their models by now, I felt it appropriate to email RH as I had not received my wave 2.

I received a reply stating that some of the troops were 'out of stock' and that is why I have not received my shipment.

First of all how are these 'out of stock' what monumental error occurred during production planning for not enough models to be produced to cover backers. So the update of all wave 2 has been shipped was a lie!

Second I was given no time frame as to when I would receive my wave 2.

Third they obviously couldn't even read my email correctly as they headed the email with some else's name!

I was very looking forward to their second kickstarter however I am not sure now if I dare back it, especially after the comment from the latest update 'For RH to survive'.

Has anyone else not received their wave 2 and been told the same thing?

This has made me quite upset.

I've issued them 3 emails, two Pledge Manager messages and attempted to live chat with them as from what I can tell, nothing from my single wave shipping order is still waiting to be produced (ie I only ordered troop/command boxes for the Jail Birds, the freebies, and heroines which are all on the list of completed minis as far as I can tell) so why I haven't had an order issued is baffling me.

I haven't managed to get a single reply from them yet through any channel.

The update that freebies would issue was nice to see, but what about stuff that should be ready to ship now?! Will it come out when they issue the freebies? Will it be later?

Brooks last post about them 'running out of stock' is freaking me out that this is a $200 odd dollar gamble that has gone down the drain.

It just occurred to me that the potential reason for certain items being out of stock right now may be because they did reopen sales at several points, including late last year, with some nice incentives to get those models and other stuff shipped out ASAP. It may be that the troops were also ordered en-masse and shipped to those who were eligible to receive them at that point. Mind, speculation on my part and all that, but it would explain why certain items may be out of stock right now.

Also, if people paid by Paypal, their funds might have been held until they could show they had shipped products. This would incentivize them to process those later orders first.

Losing confidence with this also. Fwiw I threw in well over $1k US at this project (nearly $2k OZ now) and am still waiting for them to produce the vast majority of what was pledged for.

The situation of late makes it harder to believe their "estimations" of a completion date which were part of the update back in January.
For backers who either chose to wait for Wave 3 shipments or had that choice decided by RH, it seems there will be ongoing delays because of this latest admission.
Running out of stock and further holding up deliveries because of these shortages is piss poor. RH should have a clear indication of who wants what exactly and this tally should equally correspond with the production numbers submitted to the foundry. If a number of backers have chosen the one shipment option then available items should have been put aside so all outstanding orders are kept up to date and are ready to ship once the last item from the production queue is done.
So what happens now if they progressively run "out of stock" with some of the character minis that they've decided to give away? More delays?

RH can come hat in hand for the new KS but really you'd have to be a sucker to go through this again...

Well, I wouldn't say they had a bad rep then, they had a reputation for always overshooting their release dates, that much I did warn about. The dodginess didn't happen until the campaign was underway and stuff happened.

Yeah, I don't remember anyone citing a bad rep in the beginning. Certainly a couple of posters warned the models would be late, which I for one appreciated, since the forewarning mollified my apprehension quite a bit.

They certainly cemented their rep in this campaign though. No punctuality, little accountability, poor communication, mind-blowing models. I probably won't back the new KS, unless they can seriously step up the quality of the elf stuff.

And I got a response to one of my messages - it said my single wave (troops, heroines) would ship 'soon' after the freebies shipped.

I can't find the Jailbirds Mech oddly enough.

In other news, I'm really enjoying looking at all the alt parts going "Hmmm, that head for the hero, that head for the troops..." Ex Volga the KST Standard Bearer has a stoic face with a barracks cap, and a angry battle cry. Head one goes on Volga, head two goes to a sergeant winding up for a chainsword slash.

I wasn't a huge fan of the mechs either, though I love the KST mech pilot.

Herald Mode: They're hopefully going to do another backer update just to clarify, but RH is saying in an official channel to us, the remaining Heralds who haven't suffered a stroke yet, that the phrasing in the last email was a poorly done/clumsy translation and does not accurately reflect the status of the company.
Personal Opinion: I believe the intent was more along the lines of this KS being the launch pad that will bring them into a more serious realm to have a legit gaming system to go with their minis, and really have a fully fleshed out range, then implying dire straits for the company.

Overhyped would be if they didn't deliver in a reasonable amount of time, but nobody here would know anything about that, would they? Nor about changing the product after the fact?

Yeah wireless is probably a poor term at least in military, however 'remote' isn't considering the success of Predator and Reaper drones.

Right but we're not remote piloting the Mecha, just the arms, so orientation isn't an issue and at close transmission points hacking is less of an issue. But then again if we are playing Infinity, then its all part of the game at that point and possibly not having a hacker or engineer is just a bad army list. However the earlier versions of the drones and programming did have some issues but that is only because the military won't trust the software to fly itself fully. There are software packages that when certain conditions are met, including hacking attempts, it will disable remote piloting control and pilot itself back and land at X or Y airfield. The automated feature set for certain conditions or when it has gotten too high or flying too low, correcting itself and then returning to land. Not sure if that is in the Predator but I've seen it in the Reaper when doing software tests.

I thought Wave 3 was already shipping, basically if you order was completely in then it was shipping. Meanwhile they are still missing something like 8-9 models that they are waiting on. It doesn't make sense that they would have to hold off for a cash infusion, especially considering they sent out "Late" packs to the backers. If it was an issue of funding then the amount spent on shipping would have covered missing expenses.

we don't need any new cash to finish Wave 3: all those funds have been set aside and allocated for our suppliers a long time ago!

They will be addressing all of these rumors prior to the start of the campaign, but the basic facts are this as they have been presented to us.

Wave 3 is paid for, casting and orders are shipping on completion. Nothing is on hold.
The company is not in dire financial straits.

With wireless you are remote piloting the mecha, without any of the benefits of remote piloting the mecha. Transmitting the control signals in a way that increases the chance that they will be detected, drowned out by jamming or subverted should be a last resort.

Not really, since you are in close proximity with the machinery you would need normal means of transmission wireless or remotely. It would probably be based on a some sort of tight beam laser transmission, making in nearly undetectable by normal means, unable to be prevented by normal jamming or hacked through normal methods. Unless we're talking Gundam universe and then spreading Minovsky Particles which interferes with systems, depending on which Gundam verse we're talking.

Nonsense. Laser transmission is only covert under two circumstances: the transmitter and receiver are stationary relative to one another, or you are using fibre-optics to force the laser to follow a variable path. The first is clearly useless if you actually want to move your hand controls, and over such short distances the latter is no better than a conventional wired system. If you don't use either of those two systems, not only is it not unjammable and undetectable, you are explicitly telling the world "Shoot me with anti-tank weapons!" by laser painting your own vehicles.

I think you are over complicating it and not expanding the parameters enough. We aren't talking a painting laser to cause targeting to track with it, where the design needs to be able to transmit to a wide range of devices. The field of vision from a receive/transmitter type device located in the arms relative to where the pilot is in the center is known. When a user gets into the unit, the system would first become calibrated. That involves taking the hand unit controllers and having the tracking system on the arm line up properly. Since the system knows your height and size, your dimensions are built into the software. The path from your hand controller to the mecha hand is easily seen and tracked, since we don't have a closed cockpit, with both units simultaneous calibrating based off the initial calibration and setup. Once calibrated when you move your hand the sensors track with the hand unit automatically, autonomous of any transmitting/receiving motion, all the variables of motion are easily programmed in a computer once you know distance, size, weight and movement range. Even if I moved to where one hand over lapped or something block field of vision from one unit, the computer can extrapolate the rest of the information. Think Xbox Live but on a smaller, more secure system where after you've calibrated it accounts for your range of motions already. However the real reason for wires would usually be for redundancy. Although given the relative exposed nature of the pilot already the redundancy wouldn't be needed. The only way to intercept a signal between the hand controller and mecha arm would to be physically between the two units, which at that point the pilot is already exposed and dead. That is why I don't see these as military grade mecha weapons, more like light security or construction heavy lifters that were modified to carry heavy weapons.

It makes sense on both accounts. Don't mind me, I just like talking theoretical discussions on creating scifi and new technologies when creating new universes. It is a healthy exercise in game design applying existing technologies but then modifying them for use in a futuristic setting. It is something we often do in game design when game mechanics encounter lore. In video game design it sometimes involves us changing some mechanics to match up lore-wise or altering lore to match mechanics. I never like the excuse that it is scifi or magic, I like there to be some plausibility behind it. Our group regularly asks "Why X instead of Y" and then we split up on which sides we are to discuss it. Since the group is made up of all backgrounds that include game designers, authors, software and hardware engineers we get a good mix of information, some things in the discussions have actually been used to apply to existing technologies, like surveillance and motion tracking to remote software improvements in certain drones.

Freebie Shipment

It's been Grand Packing Central in the office for the past few days! By tomorrow evening, we'll have shipped out the vast majority of the parcels containing the 14 Freebies.

By the way, for those of you who mistakenly did not pick ALL the Freebies, don't worry, we've got your back: you'll be getting them all, as all the parcels containing the full set.

If you are among those who received the first 5 Freebies in an earlier shipment, we will be packing and shipping your remaining 9 Freebies in the beginning of next week.

Order Status

Some of you contacted us because they could not quite remember which TGG minis they had selected.

If you can't remember what your Rewards Selection look like, here's what you can do: just go to www.tggks.com and Sign in. once you're logged in, go to My Account (on top of the page), and then, on the left-hand side, choose View Order Status, and then click on View Order Details and you will see your Selection.

Shipping Update

As you will recall, pledges from Wave 3 have already begun shipping, and we are now shipping continuously as the remaining models arrive from the foundry. Keep an eye here to see how production is advancing. The foundry is currently working on Artilleries, the Jet-Pack Girls and the CyberZombies. And all the remaining metal Heroines, including Nepharya, are almost in!

Why only 15 days for the TGG2 KS?

As most Kickstarter are run over a period of one month or more, it has been assumed to be some sort of norm. But when we began planning TGG2, and look at exactly how the TGG1 campaign has run, we saw some opportunities to try new things...

A few days before we launched TGG1, we had a Skype conversation with David Doust, CoolMiniorNot's boss, who said: “Your first Kickstarter is an experience you'll remember all your life”. What he meant by that is that running a Ks is extremely demanding, way beyond what anyone can imagine. Keeping the campaign shorter and trimming all the fat will help us make it a more exciting experience for you as well as keeping the whole Raging Team energized!

Some people are worried that this will result in less funds and less backers. While this might seem logical at first glance, the numbers show that this is not quite the case. The 15 days in the middle of our TGG KS campaign only constituted about 10% of the total. We believe that the excitement of a shorter campaign will make up for it, and will be more fun for everyone! Because, after all, it ain't all about the money!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also..

The "TGG2: Darkness and Light" Kickstarter

We've seen on some forums that a few people were concerned about what we wrote in our last Update regarding the fact that we wanted to launch our new Kickstarter now. For example: “You've got money troubles and we'll never see any minis / you're going to grab the money from the new Ks and close down!”.

Well. It looks like our wording in our last Update was clumsier than usual

When we wrote “We need to launch this new Kickstarter now”, it's NOT because we have run out or are presently running out of money! It's because we have a full team of artists who've been working on TGG2 for a while now, and whom we want to retain: good artists are hard to find, and we've got to keep them working on new stuff.

Money-wise, Raging Heroes has never been in a better shape. As you will have noticed, in the previous update, we are expanding and recruiting new members for the team because the demand for the TGG at retail level is constantly growing! Releasing the TGG every month throughout 2015 is way enough to keep the company running healthily, and meeting any unexpected expenses if need be.

Some people have also said that we were going to be using the funds from TGG2 to pay our suppliers and complete TGG1. This is completely FALSE. Funds for our TGG1 suppliers have long been set aside and allocated for all our suppliers, so we are in good financial shape here too.

In fact, what is happening is exactly the opposite. The TGG1 funds have contributed to TGG2: the totality of the design work, + a big chunk of the preparation, sculpting work for a first wave of TGG2.

We are now at a stage where every action we take on one project also supports another one: when, with your backing, we created the TGG KS, we developed a big catalogue of new products. When we started selling a few products at retail last December, it allowed us to secure some extra funds to make it possible to have a bonus shipment wave for the Freebies that is happening right now at no extra charge for you!

So, in a way, the retail customers have gifted you an extra shipping wave. And in the same way, the money for TGG1 allowed us to prepare a bigger Kickstarter for TGG2. And whatever its outcome, the mass of work that has been generated through this is making the company stronger. This will also continue to flow back to you as it will allow us to develop more cool stuff like follow-ups to the JB, IE and KST, as well as games and more.

I guess one could call it a virtuous circle, as every new project reinforces the previous one. And this is also exactly what Kickstarter is about: helping creators get a kickstart on their projects

Either no change, or no update on the chart. It's the same as last time I checked. No biggie.

I followed up on my missing tracking Id for the freebie wave and was advised it had been logistically too hard to issue the Id/advice re shipping to all those receiving items given how many packages they were issuing.

I imagine then some backers are likely to have fallen foul of the 'logistical' hurdle.

I also imagine this exercise has contributed to the lack of Wave 3 shipping. When I asked what from my order was not ready to go I was told it would all issue after the freebies. So it looks to me like a decision was taken to halt everything to ship freebies, even if backers had other items ready that could have closed off their order in one fell swoop.

The "hand poured resin" was by their own admission supposed to be done after everything else so how that fits in with what's happening atm is anyone's guess.
No info on the eta of the digital artbook and other additional exclusives either.

I'm quite sure that they'll NEVER finish that digital artbook.
Avatars of War did the same with some parts of the pledges. They never ever sent out the signed prints.

Raging Heroes will just never answer posts asking for the artbook and in a few years people will not care anymore.

TGG2 Special deal for our TGG backers – a free mini!
And here's the special deal we promised you, our first TGG backers: if you chose to come in our our new TGG2 Kickstarter (launching this week!) and pledge at Lieutenant Box level and above, you'll get a free mini to choose amongst our TGG2 Kickstarter specially priced $10 Heroines (a $15 retail value).
We couldn't have come so far without your continuing support, and so we are happy to show our gratitude by doing this for you

So if TGG backers spend ($150eb)~$165 they get 1 extra freebie chosen from the $10 selection....

So it is like a corner store drink coupon... buy 10 ($15rp) get 1 free
not exactly inspiring

Lets look at the deal using my numbers.

2 years ago I spend nearly $400 on their KS.
I have not received anything but will be getting freebies soon.
now they say I get a free mini if I spend $150 more ($165 non eb pledge)
so for spending $550 with them they graciously give me a free $10 mini ($15rp)

Now lets do a bit of brainstorming. TGG1 had 2748 backers so MAX numbers are.
@ $10 per mini and if every single backer backed again and at LT pledge level LnR are giving out $27,480 worth of 'free' minis
@ 2748 backers at LT pledge level (using $150eb for ease) they are gaining $411,220
net profit of $384,720 in pledges. (remember this is using the likely EB pledge amount so it will be larger)
they have more than enough room to offer TGG1 backers a better deal considering everything they have put the TGG1 backers through.

That's the only reply I'm going to give... Honestly. This is a nice thing for potential backers:
Get something extra for free
and of course an add campagne for Raging Heroes:
Get more potential backers by spending just a bit of money.

There is nothing more to it.

Well, first off, this does ignore their production and shipping costs, so to call it 'net profit' is kind of iffy. It is certainly somewhere betwixt and between potential gross and net, I'll agree with that.

But, functionally, they're going to make a profit as long as they don't give away the mini at less than, oh, probably $20 (a rectally extracted guess, mind).

So, if $150 is too high, and $20 is the absolute lowball - where do you think they should have offered the free mini to make it a viable nice offer?
If they had done $100 would you have been annoyed?
$50?
$30?

It's all a matter of degree, really, and it's also somewhat dependent on how offended or not offended you are at TGGKS1, really.
I, personally, have not been very much offended - so for me the "deal" looks like a fine little incentive.
You, apparently, are more offended and want a better deal to...get in on something that your expectation is to be offended on, I suppose.

I would suggest, if they bug you that much, just don't get in on the next one - they are almost assuredly going to be about the same. I don't think the particular price point of the freebie is going to change that for you, yeah?

QFT. I think this is the best median solution. If they offered much more, they would get flak from people who weren't aware of the first campaign, couldn't afford it, etc.

I don't think it will make any fence sitters commit, and it sure won't sway anyone who decided not to back, but as someone who backed the first KS, I think it's nice that they are giving anything at all to their previous backers.

Not to interrupt the flow of "is this generous or not?", but the art book is something that they are genuinely remiss in providing. While anything for free as a fillip for loyalty is a nice gesture, actually getting the things that we pledged for is quite a bit higher priority, or so I would think.
