Last I remember on the matter was that they wanted to go the extra mile with it, but I think at this stage it is something they'll not get around to any time soon due to completion of the first one and the running of the second one.

Not to interrupt the flow of "is this generous or not?", but the art book is something that they are genuinely remiss in providing. While anything for free as a fillip for loyalty is a nice gesture, actually getting the things that we pledged for is quite a bit higher priority, or so I would think.
Mind, there's also a pledge level just for the art book and some people (79 to be precise) have pledged for it.

This means the next few days will be an excellent time to drop some gentle reminders about that very missing digital art book. I suspect that RH Comms are about to peak again. For a couple of weeks, at least...

Ugh. And you know I'll be in for a dollar for the joy of commenting. Cuz let's face it, BrookM is entertaining as hell. I always figured you were a SoB kinda man, though. I'm surprised.
We'll see whether or not they've got stuff I'm interested in. I thought about pledging for a friend who plays Sisters, but by the time I'd have minis in hand she'd be on the other side of the world again or who knows where.

Got my freebies box two hours before it went up, that has drawn me in for an EB pledge for now, will see if I hang onto it once I've actually read the campaign page. There's definitely a few bits that interest me but they're in the minority as I've already got all my daemonettes and seekers sorted thanks to the old diaz-nettes, and I'm not sure I really want to start yet another army.

Edit: Since Alpharius posted at the same time to keep it on topic - casts look good, these are the only things I'll be receiving in resin as I wasn't sure how theirs was going to turn out so everything else I receive will be in metal. There's a little explanation note / almost apology in the box too.

I really like the look of some of these models.... reading that some of you still havent gotten what you backed from a year ago though.... not sure I wanna take the risk. Might just wait for them to appear on their online store instead even if it means paying more further down the line...

No guts, no glory as they say. They may have improved their methods and techniques since then, so they may hit their projected deadline this time round, which is May 2016. The savings you make on the campaign though may be worth the wait if your order is big enough.

Yes, the freebies have been packed since last week, in most cases. But some minis haven't yet come back from the caster. It's more those cases, the packages that could be completed, that I was talking about.

And in no way shape or form am I going to get suckered into paying wave shipping. Especially since whatever friend I may or may not pledge with have kids, and paint at a snail's pace.

I'm afraid there's a hippo and a 'totally not a ratling' little girl missing as someone decided to steal them, still gives me some peace at least

Few moldlines and bubbles here and there, and the resin is VERY brittle compared to what I'm used to. However it's not as bad as some things I've seen, and overall I'm very impressed with the sheer level of detail on some of the minis, I mean who needs pocket stitching on something that small? Most of them won't be seeing much paint for a while as I'm still building up bits for my guard/renegades, and I'm planning on doing a few head swaps with the heroines I'm waiting on.

Yes, they have sketched it out briefly in update 2, and they have communicated to us that the game will be written by native English speakers to avoid any typographical and linguistic errors.

Other than that, we are lead to assume it is in development? Or something? Maybe? It's RH after all.

I got my freebies today.

These things are small but have amazing detail. I'd say the detail is superior to the chaos cultists in the 40k starter set. Heck, they're easily just as good or better than most stuff you get from Infinity.

The problem, as I mentioned in another thread, is that gluing them together could be a beast to handle. This doesn't look like the PVC garbage PP uses but the joins are as thin and fiddly as any kit made for Malifaux. Unlike the HISP kids Wyrd makes for Malifaux, these models require superglue to set up and that can be messy to deal with.

Now I need to decide on bases to buy for these girls.

They're made from Trollcast. Which is a kind of "secret formula" spincast plastic resin stuff that turns out a lot better than Restic.

I got my freebies yesterday and I'm really happy with the detail and quality. I haven't done anything with them except look at them but no bubbles in any of them that I saw. I'm going to use these as Girl Guard and RPG figs. I also backed the TGG2 for use with my Dark Eldar and Dark Elf armies.

My remaining freebies showed up this morning too (I'd had 5 with my wave 1 shipment)

Really, really nice (if anything crisper than the earlier 5)

Very happy to have the faceless mother in hand especially as I've been waiting to paint her....

hopefully that urge lasts through assembly and until I've finished as I've been very prone to half finishing stuff before giving up

I opened them last night and checked them with my co-pledger. We were happy with the quality, I have no slip on any moulds. And regarding Drusilla, she wasn't in there, but the shipping notice included in the package mentionned her. Since I had agreed to wait until my last wave, they saw fit to stick to that agreement, which is probably simpler for everyone.

Nertha will make an interesting Saint Celestine, with a more ominous twist, I think.

Argh I thought there wouldn't be many other people using Nertha as a Celestine, was sort of planning to do a counts as sisters army based on a word bearers cult, this will however require plastics rather than the stuff from the new kickstarter so that'll never happen.

I did two reviews, one on Wolfenstein (5 star rating), one on Eisenstein (4 stars) with some minor quibbles on both minis, but nothing that should detract from the model overall. More or less the same I already stated here: nice models, zero flash, good metal quality, though pity about the integrated pieces of terrain they're posing on.

Decided to also do a review on von Stroheim, I'll leave it at that. Not much to say about either Madsen, an okay model with a stock pose, and Doctor von X, which I found a pain to assemble.

I've assembled all my second wave minis and have uploaded the pictures. They are great quality, all very crisp and detailed minis. Out of en60ish troops had two torsos with mini small bubbles under the busts of the figures. I had another two or three legs that can slight mold shifts. Minor mold lines occasionally and heavy release residue on about a third of the figure.

I am incredibly happy with the quality and detail of the figures. The few mold slips and lines are easy to fix and the bubbles I've filled in with green stuff. The figures are great and I've heard a few people wonder talk about spindly parts. I haven't had a problem so far with anything and the parts all look very proportianal. I've taken some exhaustive pictures of the minis and uploaded them, so take a look at what you may be expecting.

Yeah, I too realized I had significant slippage on my Nertha. I had to scrape and sand all the line going through the cloth. It's going to be metal for me from them.

I looked at your photos, Denkstrum. Thanks. I'm really not in love with the running legs. They do not look like running poses at all.

i could use more arms/guns that could be used for shooting straight forward, personally. The running legs i could use well with the Jailbirds, as i posed them as if running away from something. but for the other two factions i didn't like them as well. i would enjoy the more static poses personally.

I think she feels she has more Heroic proportions than several of the others but not enough to worry me (especially if she ends up as just a torso sticking out of a vehicle)

I do wonder if she's a sculpt that made it through largely unchanged from the initial set they did?

It will be interesting to compare her to the KST troops/heavy troops

Quite possible - comparing her next to the Natasha model, it looks like two completely different sculptors may have worked on those models. It also could have been a scaling issue when getting the model printed. Taken in isolation, there's probably some discrepancies, but when combined with other models/in a tank, it's probably less apparent.

Edit: Here's a good link that shows the freebies: http://frothingmuppet.blogspot.com/2015/03/063-kick-stater-toughest-girls-of.html

Asked more about TGG1 and what's the status there along with a few more heralds. We got the following Info:

Everything is printed, casting is moving well. We received last week several videos from the foundry - this is how we first review the initial master casts for several models, and I believe we even received new physical prototypes in the mail yesterday for approval. The foundry is also currently casting the full volume of troops to fulfill the entire Kickstarter, and I've got new packers in every day assembling them in bags of 5... We also received 2 heavy boxes of metal to complete our Heroine casts. And I've got a couple of new people in to continue sorting and outputting the Rewards Selection that are becoming complete with the new shipments coming in.

Drivers are separate from the bikes and trikes

Connoisseur pledge: The last batch of the poured resin minis is being worked on now, i am awaiting the last few prototypes to give their go ahead.
We will then get a nice packaging for them, and ship that out. Nepharya 54mm and the Printed Art Book will be shipped out separately.

They're doing up a TGG1 backer update for near future release.

I was re-reading some of the old updates (not a favourite pastime of mine, I was looking for renders of a certain mini) and they did mention the artbook.

Supposedly, they polled their backers (or at least those that aren't persona non grata) and everyone was in agreement that instead of showing the art, people wanted to see painted minis in the artbook instead. Now I hope they do both. But, yeah, the artbook might be the last thing to ever make it out of this campaign.

As stated above, art and painted minis will be in the artbook, so they have to finish everything else. Mecha and all the other remaining minis are processing through the foundrys.

I hope one of your assumptions in that estimate was that they would ship K2 as planned, in a mere year.

Which won't happen. Unless they consider the first shipped mini to a single backer who pledged for only that mini a success.

You guys on about just the "Gorilla glue" or the "Gorilla Super glue"? They sound different enough.
But when i look at their Super-Glue: http://uk.gorillaglue.com/sites/all/themes/gorilla/pdf/Gorilla%20Super%20Glue%20EU%20SDS.pdf

I only see a mixture of 4 x Ethyl cyanoacrylate? Not a Chemist whizz, but is there a difference there? and how is that any different to "normal" super-glue? (pure Ethyl cyanoacrylate)

Just working with both of them..the gorilla super seems to set faster and is harder to break. I also have dropped minis that are used with super glue and others used with gorilla...the super glued one tend to break on impact. I too am no chemist so I cant tell you much about the science. But just working with both of them ..the gorilla glue is better

Gorilla Super Glue though, not their standard one?

All i can think of on the chemical side is a stronger concentration of cyanoacrylate in the "mixture". I'd really love it for some chemist expert to comment now =P
But thanks for sharing!

Oh yea, you want the Gorilla SUPER Glue, not the standard stuff. Unless they changed the formula of the original a lot, it tends to foam and get messy.

I use only Gorilla Super Glue for my models now, and only use Loctite super glue for when I want something to come apart, like sprues etc.

Hi all,

Even for me an avid forum reader, a near 300 page thread will be too much (would have been fine before but an 11 week old son takes up most of my non work time lol).

I stopped myself pledging for the first KS despite living the models, and forgot the second KS was only 15 days which caught me out (I literally went to pledge and it had ended 30 seconds before I got on ;.( ). Luckily you can still join in over the rest of the month.

Now I am an avid gamer and play a lot of different game systems and am very interested in the future of this having a game. I kind of get the impression people think that a game will never come, it is just another way of helping promote the mini's and keep GW away from trying to make a law suit seen as these models are clearly designed to work with fantasy and 40k.

Are most people buying these models for fantasy/40k and painting or do people expect a game?

When you have placed orders are you simply ordering the stuff that works well as counts as? I like a lot of the stuff and would happily purchase lots of characters but unless the game system planned will utilise a lot of characters in one game I am unsure how you would use so many (clearly you can swap your army list regularly).

Put simply, I do not have a clue how much to order. How many characters, how many troops etc. have they announced anything about army composition other than the game is scalable? For example they have the 5 model troop sets and then the 5 model troop command sets. Have they said you would have squads of 10 models and have one of each box, or squads of 20 so 3 troops boxes to each 1 command box?

I am mainly interested in the sci-fo range and have so many questions but the models are too good to pass up again!

I can do the wait as I already have so much to build/paint and am waiting on Fallen Frontiers too so this will give me time to complete them first.

Thanks for any advice/support you can give.

As of right now, these are all proxies for other games. Their own proposed game system is nothing but a few vague ideas right now and that's not a lot to build an army on. Granted, they did comment that you could bring as few or many models as you like with their rules, but right now, that's too vague.

Quite a few of the peeps who pledged on this one have been using them as alt-Guard or as alt-Sisters.

Raging Heroes [official] Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter - $698,548 Finish!  @ 2015/04/10 12:18:17

Post by: vegeta365

Their comments seemed to imply they were getting close to having rules. The first KS said there would be a game and listed their ideas. The second KS listed similar information but implied they were hoping to get the rules out with this KS but it isn't close enough. That would make you think it is getting there.

I wondered if they had responded to comments on unit composition as I would expect people plenty of people would have asked them as would want to know what to buy. But I guess most people are just buying as alternate 40k models etc. just seems like an awful lot of people have pledged for both KIckstarters to use the models as counts as.

Buy to proxy, paint or collect,

don't expect them to produce a game system any time soon (though you never know we could be surprised), and even if they do produce one will it work ok

the good thing is none of this (and only the jet girl leader last time round) was KS exclusive so it will still be around to be picked up if they do come up with a game that you decide you want to play

Yeah, definitely count-as for me, but for the 1st TGG i picked Wave 1 & 3, so still no sign of my Imperial Guard "Squads" yet...

Some of the models i chose, like the lulus in TGG1 or some of the choices i might take in TGG2 will be only for painting / aesthetics.... As i doubt they'll have a place in 40K.

Lmfao. So true they are Ratlings.

Has anyone compiled the different models/hero's and what they look to be proxies for for each race from KS1 and 2? That would be really helpful for all (especially me).

The images are great, but they cover so many pages (even on the KS) that it's so difficult to work through.

But really, how often do you pay for your regimental standard, medic and full vox network? I used to be a big fan of modelling those, until I realized it wasn't quite worth it, aside from the fluffiness. Which is its own merit.

Fluff aside, they're overpriced and not as useful as they're made out to be. The vox network in particular took a massive kick in the balls two army books ago.

Vox is not too shabby if you're running the IA 13 list, really helps with the random leadership problems, plus certain squads get quite large vox upgrades for free which makes them doubly tempting on those. They do of course fill an entirely different purpose though since the list doesn't use orders.

For me a vox is only worth taking when I'm playing 30k: deep-striking units don't scatter and barrage weapons can use the squad with vox for LOS purposes. Beats using the 40k equivalent that's pathetically short ranged it might as well be two cups connected with strings.

So it really is only FW making the vox a vaguely useful bit of kit.

Of course now I'm going to have to resist the temptation to go read about 30k guard, I never get my current models finished never mind having another army...

That's what you could use these TGG models for. Heresy guard. Plenty of back story reasons why they could all be girls.

Personally I have already made my own head canon where I can use them as a veteran body guard for my Captain Chenkov model. He's been removed as a character in the codex, and the reason I'm telling myself for that is because he had a loyal female bodyguard group, who he had *ahem* relations with. So now instead of being in charge of all the Valhallan troops, he's stuck with a mis matched platoon full of abhumans like Ogryn, Ratlings, and Squat.

I wanted to get at least one lasgun tercio made up of Kuranova troops, but with no actual sale date known to us I will instead put in an order for another two squads of Arcadians by Victoria Lamb. Sure, I'll need to convert my own standard bearers and vox operators, but a small price to pay for excellent minis that I can get right now.

Also because it seems quite a few backers only picked 1 Shipment Wave, and it would be unfair to release Wave 1 & 2 Items that they don't even have (Until Wave 3 is sent).

I got 2: Wave 1 & 3, so i'm actually still waiting on the Squads.... and would not be too happy about those going for general sale (although i got them cheaper, so meh...)

Weirder and weirder. Nepharya is a beautiful sculpt. But anyone deluded about her standing on a regular 25mm base is on very good drugs...or out of them. If she's available in resin soon, I might end up purchasing her, since they have to send stuff my way anyway. Even at full retail.

Luckily, I don't have to feed it diesel and have hamsters running in wheels for it to load pages.

So... it's been slow on Thursday nights at work. I assembled a chick. They use the words multi-pose. I don't think it means what they think it means. I made the running pose as not-ridiculous as I could. In the command group, you get 3 running legs and one of them standing on a rock. These are severely limited. Maybe Dreamforge spoiled me.

Spoiler:

I repositioned the left thigh guard because I couldn't get the right one to sit lower.

Some of the models i chose, like the lulus in TGG1 or some of the choices i might take in TGG2 will be only for painting / aesthetics.... As i doubt they'll have a place in 40K.

I'm picking up a bunch of these on both the TGG1 and TGG2 Kickstarters. (Doubled my pledge amount for TGG1 when it came time to actually purchase them; probably do the same when the TGG2 pledge purchase opens.) Once they go retail, I'm sure I'll eventually get at least one of everything.

Since I don't play IG, a lot of the TGG1 models will be for painting only, until they release their own game (assuming it doesn't suck). Unless I decide I still have too much money and create a predominantly-female IG army (not likely). I'll definitely be using more of the TGG2 models once I get them, since a lot of them look like they'll work well for Sisters and Dark Eldar (Wych Cult and Haemonculus Covens). Even if GW does get around to finally doing plastic Sisters (not holding my breath on that one).

I've gotten my freebies already, and they look great. Really looking forward to painting them (gotta do my harlies first though). I annoyingly chose the cheap full-lot shipping option instead of waves, so it looks like I'm not going to see the rest of them for a considerable time yet (included the werewolves and JB bikes in my purchase). I think I will be shelling out for wave shipping for the next round.

SO I just finished assembling a Command squad. Officer pose is laaaaaaame. And you get an extra torso? The damn hip armour pieces are very, very thick and sit awkwardly on the raised details of the pants. I had to replace one of the heavy weapon's trooper with a regular trooper's because the box thingy on it was too bulky. It's sad, because it's a nice bit.

They ok'd my purchase of an extra Nepharya, as long as I wait until everyone is back from vaycay so she can invoice me. I'll say this for the company, the percentage of female employees is impressive. So, again, great service. Which is also sad because how can they be so great at one on one service and suck at general PR?

Got my resin Vega today, gave her a head from my Statuesque beret heads set and I covered up the scroll on her hip with a spare holster. It's a good cast, not that hard to clean up, bit sticky. With her in, I've got myself a complete Auxilia Tactical Command Squad at long last.

Only downside, she's a whole lot taller than the rest of my Victoria Miniatures command squad.

They must have just made a new mold for your cast then. Usually the first few resin pulls from a new mold will be sticky unless you let the mold finish curing for a week or two in the air. It's due to the alcohols in the silicon curing agent preventing curing in the resin. Generally though once the paint is on it doesn't cause problems unless some fine detail never finishes curing and is squishy forever. You might want to wait a few days and see that isn't the case before you convert and paint her up, in case you need a replacement.

I cleaned it and gave it a scrub before priming it, so far, so good.

Another downside, aside from her size, she's not good with receiving heads other than her own due to the high-backed collar of her coat.

Yeah, it's the same for the Iron Empire troopers. Even their own heads can't be put in straigth, sometimes needing a weird angle to fit properly. These are not multi-pose, I'll say it again.

Lack of posing options in the troops makes me happy I didn't go all in for those then. Especially with all those over the top poses they're pulling off.

I figured that would be the case for the troops in the end, which is why I only got a 10 girl heavy and 10 girl regular, but then I'm a project painter and might use my ladies for skirmish games vs. making a proper army, so I'm obviously biased.

I actually just filled in the gap in the rock part. Since I have her standing on a few layers of cork, it camouflaged the whole enterprise quite nicely.

I fiddled with them a bit more. I couldn't let the IE officer pose stand as it was, so I dismembered her and gave her a regular rifle, it almost immediately fixed the pose issue, as her arms are now closer to her body, a more natural running pose. I'll be using Kano from the freebies as an officer.

It's coming along nicely. I will use them as Tempestus, finally. An all female Tempestus would act as a bridge to my SoB army, so I can merge the two. And add more melta drop goodness too!

Just let them know/ask. I was trying to dry fit the Kurganova Snipers and one of them did not want to go together... I got my final shipping notice for my single wave bulk order. I've been chasing them every week for 4 weeks for details - it seems my Lt Parker in resin was the only thing holding it up all this time.

Drusilla is also specifically listed in the shipping notice.

Re Nertha, I too had the foot issue - I'm just going to bog my hole up with a bit of GS then my normal basing ballast.

So maybe only another week (based on shipping time to Oz for the freebie wave) and I'll be done with this little adventure.

So, I finally got to bring some minis to work for a little photo shoot. The basing is not quite done, I need to clean it up and wash it in something darker to hide the primer. I have learned though. Coffee grounds don't adhere enough to hide white primer. The more you know.

Jaheda Kano, which will be used as a Tempestor for a suicide squad of Tempestus Scions.
Spoiler:

The rest of the girls.
Spoiler:

The thing I regret the most is them not taking a bit more time [sic] to figure out that their thigh guards are way too huge for the rest of the minis.

With so few pieces and such small pieces, I think a missed opportunity was to have sprues laid out in HIPS. Each squad would have been a sprue, and I don't feel they really took advantage of the undercuts resin allow. The hip armour could have been a lot thinner.

The guns have a very dieselpunk look to them. If you're into that. it's cool. But as you said, I find the IE troopers to be the least grating of the three. All in all, I am not disappointed in getting so few of them, and on pledging for very few on the new one.

Heroes? Yes please. Troopers? No way in hell, mate. Once I have my three squads of suicide-goodness, the rest are remaining in their baggies.

Picked up my freebies and wave 3a stuff at my drop ship store yesterday. Gaming group guys all really liked the very fine detail on the figs. Will be interesting to compare one against one of the new GW Skitarrii.

It's not even close. Raging Heroes has very, very fine details. All around the resin bubbles. In the same ballpark as the Dreamforge Eisenkern infantry. In all fairness, I haven't seen the Skitarii up close, though.

It is a current-gen GW plastic kit, so sharp details, good tooling, no flaws aside from the odd mold line.

I will try and find someone at the local club to compare with the new Skitarii, but i do expect much better detail (mine have really not done badly with bubbles... lucky?) on the TGG minis.

It really is down to Resin > Plastic.

I wonder if selecting the Mecha was such a good idea?

Although upon receiving the thing in 6months time, i'm sure it'll make all of you more jealous than i currently am, waiting for my Wave 3......

I hope that in 6 months, I won't be visiting this page anymore. I'm done with my second squad (knee adequately sculpted) and only have my last one to paint to have my suicide squads ready to pop tanks.

I was thinking, and I might as well ask, is the Tempestus Command worth it in regular IG? I won't use the vox net, most probably.

I really like the way they will handle fulfillment for the new campaign. Your funds are there, when you want to get stuff, just go to the "store" and order what you want when it is available. You can punch out at any time, if with a sub-par selection.

I have recently received some wave 3 models at my drop ship, but am still waiting for artillery and a wolf, so they seem to be shipping whatever is finished, even if some stuff is not done.

Are you using dishwashing detergent (like Dawn), not "soap"? I did notice that the surfaces of the freebies do seem to be quite slick, but have not tried to paint one.

My wave 3 stuff (my whole order excluding the freebies) turned up yesterday. The heroines continued to impress, with only Parker having any noticeable problems (mold slip). Drussila looks nice with a very 50's futuristic jet girl vibe.

They did mess up part of my order sending me an Iron Empire troops set rather than one of my Jail Birds sets so I am swapping emails with Sandrine trying to get that rectified. With luck they have decent customer service similar to FW's and will get the right kit winging its way to me.

Now I have them though they are probably heading straight to a drawer for now as I dont know what I want to do with them anymore. Though I'll be keeping Foxy out as a medium term paint project as the mini is a stand out from the ones I got for coolness.

Ha - Have you had any luck getting replacements sorted?

I was asked to provide photos so sent them a picture of the packing slip with their handwritten notations on it, the box with little plastic bags in it, and a photo of the wrong squad. Not sure how else I could demonstrate I hadn't gotten what I'd ordered.

Sandrine came through after I followed up my photo email and they have issued a new squad to me so that should turn up at some point.

And that will be me done for this Kickstarter. While the minis are undoubtedly gorgeous in the main, and I'm happy I got freebies with my base Lieutenant pledge level, I wouldn't do it again and am happy I had no funds to throw at the newest one - even if there are some stunning looking concepts in there.

All the best chaps.

I kept meaning to post this and forgetting. Was I the only person who thought the tank commander freebies were going to come in two pieces, so they could be used as regular infantry OR tank commanders? I thought I remember that being what was assured to us when people complained about only getting half a model and the RH team deciding to give everyone the other half, but maybe I'm wrong.

So far, they seem like they'd be super damn awkward to slice up to use them for their intended purpose, which is what I actually WANTED them for.

No, there were to many voices crying out for them to be normal models so they were 'worth' something so they grew legs and turned into normal models

there was never (that I saw anyway) any idea of doing them as torso + legs versions once that had happened

I also received my notice, I about had a heart attack.

Sadly, the troops I selected are really not needed now- still looking forward to the heroines though.

Yet another 'last of my stuff is shipped' for the thread, just at the right time for nepharya and the cybers too, especially since the tech-priest dominus is on a 40mm which neph is definitely going to need.

Actually, the Dominus is mounted on a 50mm base according to the site. That thing is massive!

Wow, Nepharya looks brilliant! Why metal on that one (or all of them)? Spincast resin too fiddly, or quality, or something else? Just curious, as the pic at least of the resin cast looks ace.

I much prefer metal I think with these models, the one resin model I got doesn't look all that sharper from the other metals in the range, plus it's a whole lot more brittle.

Their resin has bubbles. Often egregious ones. I had to resculpt a whole knee on a running pose.

And yes, some of the pieces are very thin for Nepharya, so I was worried the resin my simply snap.

She's all painted up, looks glorious. Well, in my opinion, anyway.

That is a damn fine paint job, especially for a 5-hour job. Seriously jealous.

I agree with you on the material preference, though. I took everything they would give me in metal.

The model looks great Mathieu!

Though I still don't want it, as nice as it looks, because there's a little voice in my head telling me it's going to be a pain in the ass to transport.

Same here. I wouldn't insert her in one of the new GW cases, but a Battlefoam, if you pluck the whole shape out in one chunk and then shave the appropriate thicknesses to blanket it, would be best.

A magnetized transport system (where the model has a magnet fixed to the base and just rides magnetized to a metal plate).

The most rock-bottom way of doing this is with a cookie sheet.

Here's a thread on it. (And since it's MY thread, you can see why I'm interested in finding out if Nephy will ride in that system.) If her arms are delicate enough that even impact-free jostling might dislodge them, then she probably needs foam. If you can shake the gak out of her without her bits falling off, then she can prolly be magnetized well enough to stay in place.

Ah, I had no idea it was called that way. My friend cut metal sheets at the bottom of cheap Ikea boxes (the ones with a metal-rimmed lid) to do the same.

The issue is most probably base size. Because she is particularly tall (about 65mm or 2 5/8"), she will tip over if there is enough force shearing her sideways. With a 40mm base, that is pretty much taken care of. And it protects all the delicate tendrils at the bottom. Her right arm is one solid piece, so no danger of breaking it. All of the appendages on top of her have tight fits and at least 2 or 3 mm of depth for each of them.

I'd say, unless you drive on Canadian roads, or take turns like a motherfether, you should be fine.

Finally got mine! A whole load of JBs (2 basic troops, 2 commands, 1 sniper squad and a couple characters). Love them, very crisp details, lovely (if TINY) miniatures. After one gets used to GWs huge hands and heads, well proportioned stuff is weird at first looks

I got ONE badly bent part, a regular gun arm, on one of the command groups. I´ll try and fix that with hot water. The one piece that I didnt like was one of the heads, that comes with the heavy weapons on the command group. It has this weird flat top, I figure it is some sort of hat. Cannot for the life of me understand it.

For the resin ones, have you found anything convenient for degreasing? I can't seem to find anything that works without excessive scrubbing and is available in our country.

I use Pine-Sol. I set a timer to 15 minutes, then grab them out of there, lay them on a wax paper sheet so I don't mess up the counter and just scrub with an old toothbrush. 1 minute per model, say. Then you thoroughly rince them and let them dry overnight.

I forgot to do it for one squad... and it convinced me that it worked, because otherwise the primer will be runny and glossy and never really dries.

Well mine just arrived, however I seem to be missing my Elektra Eisenstein, half wonder if she just wouldn't fit as the two boxes were certainly tightly packed as it is. Looks like its email time on that front.

Very pleased with the metals, shame I couldn't request it on more things, not that the resins bad but I doubt the resin Aleksandr would be heavy enough to break a toe should you dare to drop him. So much for watering the garden tonight.

He is a dangerous chunk of metal. I got him, and it is the heaviest mini I have ever had, I think. For the size, anyway. And that cape would probably break fragile things it impacts. Not sure about toes.

How do they compare to, say, Necromunda Escher? They are much more true scale than most GW stuff.

If you can get Simple Green in CAN, I'd use that. I use it for stripping paint off models including resins, and it cut grease nicely without damaging plastics like PineSol can. It also doesn't damage your hands like PineSol...

Yeah, you can't work too long with PineSol, but for a bunch of 5 minis, I figured I was safe.

I once "forgot" a pewter minotaur (the nice Confrontation one) in Circa Soft. I was told it wouldn't damage metal. It was completely pited when I found it, a few years later.

I've never seen Simple Green. Available in big box stores, I guess? I don't have those around me.

In addition to super centers, I've seen it in most hardware stores as well as some automotive stores.

None at my local hardware store, unfortunately. Maybe it's because of the English name (it wouldn't surprise me). Because I know they're not going to translate it to "Simple Vert", it would make too much sense. Next time the car needs a fixin', which should be soon (I have extra cash in my bank account), I'll check Canadian Tire.

These are amazing. I was sceptical initially, as warrior-women tend to be overtly sexualised, as if women are so bloody stupid they turn up to a fight without wearing any clothes (maybe worrying that bulky, male-oriented body armour would clash with their nails, or the enemy won't shoot them because they've got a camel toe).

Let's see how much protection a scanty dress is if they're fighting a human aspie, or an alien of any species.

Fortunately you've avoided this trap with a lot of them.

The Cyberzombie would make a truly fearsome Obliterator... coming up with a backstory for that would be really interesting.
