I'm at my point when painting Supergirl that this could go entirely horribly horribly wrong.



The one thing that I've done right is that the tights are starting to work out. - Turns out I learned something from Angel's book after all!

I'm focusing on my other wargaming talents, writing fluff and sketching concept art.

Making some scratch built parts for a set of objective markers,thinking of new and old ways to use some of the sprue i have a tube full of,and filling slots in round bases.

I don't need a second aspiring deathbringer, so the second got mashed with skullreaper bits and he'll stand atop my Khorne Warshrine.

I'm sticking some Khorne Berzerkers together. I love the models, but the kit is frustrating thanks to a lot of mold lines and the parts are very samey (literally three of every part in the kit). I need them to run the Hounds of Abaddon formation from Traitor Legions.

Finished priming my last 5 battletech mechs and a 3-man squad of Sigmarine chicken riders. Now I have to paint all this stuff :(

After slicing a chunk out of my fingernail while trimming, I am painting a small boar.

It's also a bit of a bore, and a chore.

I am not painting anything.

The plastic, of course, is boardgame plastic, requiring quite a bit of mold line removal and gap filling. Like red and yellow, orange has poor coverage, so correcting mistakes and painting over shaded colors took awhile.

The remaining *thirty* cats are black, grey, and white, so hopefully won't take as long...

Starting to re-base and re-paint a bunch of my Old West scatter terrain. Worked on painting some of my necromunda/40K industrial platforms...and put up a bunch of Conan stuff on eBay to fund a future Death Guard army for 2nd ed.

Finished my Ork Kill Team last night - and will be playing them in SWA tonight. If I have time after that, I'll work on edge highlighting some Dark Angel Terminators while watching the hockey game.

Gearing up for an apocalypse team game tomorrow, 4k of Chaos Space Marines...

The first time I've used them actually, many only recently finished, all painted though some lack the oil wash stage and none are really weathered as yet.

Plus a bit more progress of a fledgeling 30k force with the first 5 MkIII plastic tactical marines coming along nicely

Played and lost a league game. Working on some Night Goblins and Terminators.

Finishing the paint job on two of my hunchbacked Knights.

Putting the finishing touches on my DA Devastator squad (still...), and starting to basecoat the grav guns for the command squad. Too bad my planned army build for these guys is going to be invalid in a couple of months...

Painting my dwarven frigate. It's a fun model.

I played a game of Kill Teams yesterday (with custom rules) and decided to dig out my old Orks. We played using the 5th edition codexs, and my opponent took SW. At the end of the my first turn, I had lost three boys to a sabotaged objective after EVERY SINGLE MODEL IN MY ARMY FAILED ITS SHOOTING TO HIT ROLES AND CHARGE ROLLS. In my opponents first turn, he charged my other boys and burnas, killing them.
In my second turn, I took my remaining boy (one of my two remaining models) and charged the SW.


And won the game.

I finally attached the engines and top fins on the vampire hunter.. it's crazy how the tiny last steps look like so much progress compared to the much longer prep steps...

I have absolutely no idea and no plans and no real thought process for what the hell I'm doing with painting the Reverse Flash.



And yet I'm blundering on anyway.

Seriously, I don't have a scooby doo.

Worked on the three Mark I Immolators, continued to paint details on all three tanks together. Did not have much time for modelling due to other commitments.

Balancing the writing of my first draft of a hefty research paper with finishing up an Imperial Knight for a friend, and partially assembling/prepping a mini for this month's in-shop painting competition.

The painting comp is themed, and last months winner declared the theme was "Order" (as in, AoS). So, I raided my bits box, and found the parts to create another Greatsword. He now has a wolf cloak (from the stupid old knights box), short sword on his hip, another big sticker stuck in the ground, and gonna look pretty badarse I think.

Reglued a knife that fell from a model, dropped said model, the head and grav-chute came off and they seemed to have stopped existing altogether, I cannot find them for the life of me.

Same as my usual routine of blog and thread updates,making more objective markers,and checking out some new delivery's see below.

German Bombers.

I played my first game of Conan, and well it wasn't what I was expecting (it came across as an arena fighter from the game I'd seen before, must have been the scenario). Aye, it was all right.

Meanwhile, a friend brought some books on WWII armour over. There's a lot in print format which just doesn't appear on the internet (like to a silly degree. There's whole series of prototypes and derivatives I never knew about). Particularly though I discovered two vehicles which I think may be the excuse for me to add a Vichi French element to my Alternative History German force. A tracked APC (very similar to the German Katzchen , though I doubt they're related) and a heavy tank which the Vichi French developed in secret which actually wound up being produced post-war. The APC will be no effort to convert, the tank is going to be a headache, but well seeing as its alt-history I'll cut some corners and include more German elements to save on the obtuse scratch builing (bonus points though on that front in that the French stole a load of German components from repair shops for their prototypes).

Now I just need the time to get around to working on all the WIPs I have. ...I have 3 Super Heavies sitting needing finishing (...for Bolt Action, where a Panzer IV is considered pricey. Meh, all tank games'll have to do), let alone all the infantry and some amazing resin vehicles I ordered from Die Waffenkammer. :(

Finished a rank of Night Goblins which had been in my queue since 2000 and some Deathwing Terminators from the 6th ed. boxed set. Gradually unburying myself.

I unsprued my 6 Lynxes right wings and borke 5 of the 6 in exactly the same place.... god bless gates.

Going to finish up my Frigate. Sure are a lot of metal bits on the flying Dwarf boat.

Started the Walking Dead: Days Gone Bye story mode. Not going to pretend that this car alarm going off and dragging everything away from the HQ door didn't shift things in my favour a bit

Finished some scatter terrain...making a handful of hitching posts and repainting a hotel.

Now working on four Mark I Immolators as taking photos of the other two I recently finished revealed all the flaws and mistakes on the other two. :(

Little bit more on some MkIII Thousand Sons, plus a bit of work on resurrecting a Mk1 Rhino for them to ride in and a Mk1 Predator to escort it.

Chickened out of fitting new handrails, don't have suitable brass rod to hand and figure plastic will be far too weak...

Hope to start painting them tomorrow when the primer for this evening has cured

Well I finished up the project I had been working on since January. 1500pts of Gutbusters for Age of Sigmar



I went to a tournament over the weekend and got whooped...mostly. Honestly, it was my first time running the army and I did way better then I had thought. Now? I have no idea what project I will be working on. I'm probably going to focus on a few more pieces of terrain to add to my collection before I narrow it down to what I want to do.

I'm introing DC Universe for International Tabletop Day tomorrow, so I've done my bit to lower the barrier of entry when learning a new game.



Printed out rules sheets (the rulebook and character cards themselves are freely available from Knight Models website), done for each character individually.

Putting together 3 of Diewaffenkammer's new German E-Series tanks. I've had them for a few weeks, but not quite known exactly what to do with them. The base kits are nice enough, but I never use anything right out of the box, so've added on extra armour, next exhaust, and other tat. Now just to paint them and have some proper paper panzers for my alternative history force.

Finished a Contemptor and a Whirlwind. I need to wait for the fog to lift so I can spray Purity Seal on the Whirlwind and apply transfers.

Did some base colours and blacklining on Belial and a unit of Deathwing Knights

I've got those lynx bodies assembled and all sprues clipped... still a lot of unwarping, sanding as well as filling assembly gaps.

Reconquering my hobby room after an invasion of guest. I currently have the air filter set up in there (whatever perfume or cologne they use is simply headache inducing) and then I'll finish up painting my Talons of the Emperor army for 30k.

Khorne be getting some love in the form of an objective marker set,Building and painting x20 Bases of some unusual and or different types need the extra time next month painting now will save that time,Explosives are also on the way and have a set made in marker form,as well as a small necromunda marker to add to my collection,got some more paint on my ww2 era planes,and hopefully later tonight get the last couple of stages done on my marine squad that's still not done.Post all at a later date in the usual places when i take a batch of pics next.

Finishing the assembly of the tracks on my Fellblade, then I'm going to try out an Ironwing list in a game of 30K today.

Brought a bunch of bases for future models.
20 bases of 32mm and some larger ones.

Finished a Whirlwind this morning, followed by some base layers on Belial and the Deathwing Knights. I'll start highlighting them and doing details in my free time over the rest of the weekend. Also started blacklining a Ravenwing Squad.

Digging into my Creature Caster stuff I got from their KS. Wash, Clean and start assembling. I've already started on the War Demon.

1000 Sons tank convertions. Got my packs of FW rhino doors, some flaming cauldrons to go on the smoke stacks as well as icons of flame.

Did a predator last night and happy with it. Also have a demon head cannon barrel I put on a vindicator. Gonna slap the rhino doors on the side of the vindicator as the predator only needed the face plate.

Got some Tzeentch symbols and Tzaangor Shields I might include as well.

Then a couple rhinos.

Now dem Lynxes have engines, and underslung shuriken canons, and even right front fins.

Today I've been reboxing and sorting stuff and getting rid of things. Multiple Mantic and GW boxes being picked up by friends today or tomorrow. Got about $400 worth of Mantic scenery that is trying to find a home too. Lot of cleanout going on.

There is a Rhino in similar colours, derived from the colours in inferno but adapted to the Mk1 chassis

Yay, all dem 6 Lynxes now have all their fins ... I've still got to magnetize their stands, cleanup and unwarp the gun bits and they'll all be ready for gap filling.

Not doing a whole lot that is directly related to my hobbying, except maybe assembling some stuff, but I have been spending a lot of the day reinstalling everything on my computer. Damn thing quit working right, so I had to reinstall the system software and start all over. All of my files were casualties, unfortunately, but luckily nothing really important (like tax information, etc.) was lost.

I will be working on my looted Imperial Knight, going to add some Taurox missile launchers on each of the shoulders. I'm starting to think I've added too much stuff on him already, so I might have to magnetize them!

Then I just have some fun stuff to do and that's to orkify the last bits and build the base and I will be done!

The Tataros terminators and Ahriman from Burning of Prospero primed, and the metallic red added, takes hours to cure though so no more today.

Bit more on my masked men for Test of Honour with the masks into bronze and the armour on the sleeves started

Keep your placeholders and forget about 'better models'. Very nicely done.

I am looking in boxes for things that might become terrain.

I found a bag of marbles! Those could be a thing.

Night and day difference from my 1990 edition.

I really must focus on one of the five Mark I Immolators. To at least get one done and off my desk and build some momentum to get the next done and so on.

sculpting the missing pieces for my friends battlemechs,..its going slow two arms for a rifleman, 1 arm for a marauder, 1 arm for a battlmaster, and a griffon, and warhammer (and what is he doing? eating arms??) and a missile pod for a t-bolt....all out of wire and greenstuff.

Pretty well finished the five Mark I Immolators. They still require sealing with some matt varnish. However they are ready to join the one finished Immolator.

Hah, actually nope. Another...tangent project.

2nd ed. Chaos Space Marines (predominantly Nurgle/Death Guard) based on HH armour and 3rd party bits (maybe some of the new DG plastics). I happen to hate current Rhinos and couldn't find reasonable old Rhinos...so I'm making Rhino-Russes instead for my Deathguard. My friend is actually doing the same, but she's doing Slaanesh/Alpha Legion marines using HH bits --- also for 2nd ed.

You could get a lot of those bits from the Robotech RPG box, or from Gashapon figures (still around for Dougram-based old school mechs).

Sealed the five Mark I Immolators. Started the last two Sisters with Multi-Meltas and the Converted Repentia Mistress.

A wee set of ten Necromunda objective markers. I've got fun rules for them all drawn up too and will share all when I have some better photos of them.

@Elbows- I'm really trying not to look too disappointed. The idea of you collecting up some old IG lead and taking it to the 2nd ed tabletop was just a beautiful thought. Perhaps an inspiring one? No?

Had a look round Campaign 2017. Bought some trees. Played some Dark Souls boardgame. Bought the Shadow War: Armageddon rulebook. Sleeved a bunch of cards. Currently watching Kelly's Heroes and preparing to finish painting the rest of my Sloth abominations for The Others.

Will at least finish building my Varanguard models. Man, those things are intricate. I managed to finish one and a "horse" through the entirety of watching Tropic Thunder last night. Definitely not worth $33 each, but that's why I just traded for em.

Grinding along on this drop pod. The marines had better appreciate it because it's kind of a pain.

Going to be blue eventually. I'm hoping it will be a proof of concept for my scheme working on larger vehicles and not a waste of effort.

Finished two Halfling thieves for Frostgrave.
Painted/textured bases for my last 5 battletech mechs.
Finished painting 5 vanguard hunters and 3 raptor stormcast.

Remaining for my entire painting list:
12 BT armored suits or whatever they're called (the little guys you can base on pennies)
5 vanguard hunters that are already primed gold and washed.
Applying decals to 15 stormcast vanguard when I'm finished.

Finished the Sister Superior Conversion for my Repentia (finally). Worked on two Sisters of Battle with Multi-Meltas and fixed the nose on a Sister Superior with Bolter that I noticed when looking at the photos in my PLOG.

Began actual gluing of my Rhino-Russes...scratch building some bits later tonight. Bunch of 3rd party pieces in the mail hopefully.

I had put some knights on a bookshelf, next to books.

books held in place by old metal bookends.

the bookends... ended. So did the knights, crushed by professional cooking, 7th edition.

So begins the repairs.

Finally finished Belial, a Librarian and a Chaplain last night. I've got about an hour worth of final detail on my Deathwing Knights to do this morning, then I'll be on to putting base layers down on the Scouts from Shadow War.

I finished my Kharadron admiral and arkanaught company today, apart from removing a few flash lines. I'm now working up the courage to build my frigate.

Making more Green stuff Bits for future Projects from the molds i recently made. Pics below. Water bottles,Old leman russ tank doors,

Took a hair stick to some goblin wolf riders who've been languishing unpainted for some twenty odd years. Nice to see some worthy old minis finally get their due.

Painting lotr/hobbit minis for an upcoming "the One Ring" rpg session and then plotting what space marine chapter to paint a warband for in SW:A

Finished up a handful of dwarfs...painted a big friggin' snake from the Conan game. Going to take another swing at painting this evening - probably an Ogre.

I attempted to airbrush a GW Druchii Violet wash over my Dropfleet Commander ships and it was a complete waste. It took up about a third of a GW pot to badly cover 1 ship and 2 frigates.

Not pleased at all. I guess I'm going to need to do this the old fashioned way.

Sorry to hear that.
Next time, try using alcohol (75-90%). It doesn't harm the plastic/metal/resin/whatever, and works very quickly (I've had minis that were done after 15 minutes, but that's probably because the previous owner didn't undercoat them).

(and...avoid finecast in the future)

Got the second squad of MkIII progressed a bit for my Thousand Sons, gold details added and washed, started the dead space wolf on Ahriman's base, going for the older style very pale grey look

About the FInecast, I've had finecast go limpy after a bath in alcohol, so alcohol is not safe either.

If I ever manage to fix them, or if they just fix themselves, I'll post an update.

Congrats on the lack of backlog Hotsauceman - I'm always working on reducing mine (and it's pretty successful). I have far fewer then I normally do.

I've been trying my best to stick to "assemble it only when you'll paint it" and have been successful lately.

I'm working on straightening out the guns on my heavy destroyers and just generally cleaning/washing resin. I really dislike the material so I can't wait to finish this stage. I've tried both warm water and a hair dryer and both have been mediocre at straightening the gun. Maybe I need to use hotter water but I am trying to increase the temperature gradually since I am inexperienced at working with the material.

If you're working with finecast, just make the water as hot as you can stand it, leave the mini or part long enough for it all to reach temperature, bend in the proper shape, then temper using cold water.

If you're using regular resin, i.e. not soft like finecast, use a heatgun it works wonders.

15 lbs. of wargames stuff just showed up at my door from several disparate orders/sources over the past few weeks. Time to start properly planning the army to go with my tanks.

Working on my second squad of MkIII Thousand Sons, few details to finish and I actually have a game legal Thousand Sons force...

Finished reading Shadow War Armageddon,Topped up on bases i have used recently making replacements,made some objective markers as usual,and painted alot of small bits.

Assembled/based 10x plaguebearers and made two small Nurgling bases as well. More later.

I have wanted to do something similar to make vindicators. I am glad to see it works!

Well, it works...only just. There is a lot of cutting/modification involved, but nothing terribly hard so far. The Rhino chassis has to be trimmed down - the side body panels need to be invented and the Leman Russ track sections have to be carefully trimmed on the inside, etc. I'll try to do a how-to when I construct my third one, now that I know it works.

I am considering a vindicator in the future, but it wouldn't be any time soon.

Ordered a case for my dropfleet, so I won't have any excuses not to paint them.

Painting. Have a 30K Narrative event in Nashville next weekend, and I need to get my Ironwing prepped. So I have 2 Predators, a Vindicator, a Contemptor, and a Fellblade to finish by Friday night.

Gonna be an interesting week.

Played Jamaica (lost) and Monster Fluxx (won). Also finished my Dark Souls solo run against Ormstein and Smough. By the narrowest possible margin ever.

Painted up 80% of my green stuff bits unbelievably fiddly work,some of the bits are 1mm small ever tried highlighting a 1mm size pouch it hurts the eyes,nice having a vast supply of painted bits at hand though.

I'm working on my next 20 skavenslaves.

Going to drybrush my lighter color over the basecoat (entire model) and then start block painting their clothing.

Squad numbers, varnish and basing on my last squad of Tactical Marines and then filling in details on the Bikers.

Long weekend coming up, and I'm hoping to use that to clear all the half-finished projects off my bench.

Starting the first five Chaos marines for my warband.

Still painting the Avenger Strike Fighter. Working on the canopies...as they cannot be spray sealed I used some Valero Matt Varnish and it left the non-window frames with a white film. :(

Making my own tabletop miniatures game! Yes, thats right! It will hopefully be on Kickstarter soon, but that depends completely on my rules writing skills, but it'll be a rule book, miniatures and game board! So stay tuned!

Finishing up my first rules draft, and painting more KSons. I literally have piles of unpainted MK IIIs left. Oh, and ordering eldar.

After finishing off the Dark Angels, it's back to Guard this week. A couple Vostroyan Snipers, three Elysian Tauros and a Baneblade - most of which are already partially painted.

It's a cool sunny day, so perfect weather to finish spraying the rest of my Shadow War terrain too.

Thanks, Leth. I don't like the MkIII helmet and I found that the vanguard helmet has a very classical "sallet" helmet look which works really well with the armour. Also the vanguard head is a bit small, making the marine look more in scale with its armour (I find). Happy with the result. Have some more on the way.

Yeah I was really happy when I saw that GW is using nearly Identical head sockets for the tempestus scions, the mechanicus, and the space marines, makes it so easy to work in headswaps and the like.

Painting more Dark Souls. Need to have Ormstein and Smough finished before Thursday's game.

Assembling gluing and cleaning the mold lines,Off of a Sector Mechanicus Galvanic Magnavent,Some real nice stuff,massive amount of details on the set.

I feel I have finished my Avenger Strike Fighter (might still do some various weapon load outs with magnets...but that is addition and not rebuilding, etc.) so I will post some photos later today in my Sister's PLOG.

That is a very nice Avenger, perhaps something over the decals would help with the very slight silvering, assuming the human eye can see it that is. Love the colours though, and beautifully done.

Hey everyone, working on making a hobby kit for a 6 year old who likes building stuff. Anyone with kids have any recommendations on models and basic supplies to include?

Was thinking a knife, clippers, glue, some paints and the like but anyone with kids I would appreciate your input.

Other than that enjoying the weather and getting things primed!!

Personally at age six, I'd leave out the knife/clipped and maybe handle that for them. I'd imagine any of the starting kind of paint kits would work.

A work surface (i.e. a cutting mat), some towels, cheapo brushes, etc.

I've just realized I have Mordheim coming up next weekend so I'm trying to throw together another terrain piece or two. Going through another batch of wood rods, foamcore, and a bunch of coffee stirrers. This will be rushed, unfortunately.

I've just returned to the hobby properly for the first time in... oh, about two years? I've decided that with a new 40K on the way it's time to stop mucking around, put together the IG kits I still have sitting in my room and finish that army once and for all.

So far, that's involved the construction of a Chimera chassis and the slight cutting of one thumb due to clumsiness. Hopefully this isn't a case of starting as I mean to continue...

One thumb per vehicle...yeah you'll be hurting.

While the silvering is only visible in natural light and close up I will fix that with some extra paint. That is a result of the Hard-Coat to protect the decals from sealant and the softener not doing it's job properly.

So if I have time, some final touch-ups on the Avenger.

Today's goals...prime some crumbled walls...finish detailing and maybe prime one piece of mordheim terrain. Buy some wood rods and make about a half dozen ladders and some more walkways - probably primed them as well.

Hopefully, make some progress on my 2nd mordheim piece which hit a standstill last night.

Oh, and maybe assemble a few more Chaos marines since I found six more bases hiding on my hobby desk.

I just received my order from Ebay; 4x Aberrants for my side project Gene-cult. Other than that, I got painted 3 more genestealers for my Nids. I am very excited as they released Faction Focus rumours for new edition Nids.

Achieved so far:

-Built and primed five ladders.
-Built and primed 10 different wall sections.
-Built and primed three walkways.

Hope I can keep it up!

Counted out my collection, and came to terms with my shame. Not counting various stuff for Warhammer Fantasy that I now consider defunct, painted or not, and some odd things like 4-5 orks, 6 necrons, and some Inquisition stuff...

I have 141 painted models... and need to paint 319...

This is after a several month buying freeze...

And I also painted my Corvus Blackstar! Got to make a dent in that backlog...

I don't know if anyone remembers him, but my last post was of dejection after my work in progress daemon prince got crushed by a small child.

Sadly I couldn't recover all the pieces, but I've rebuilt him as best as I can (included badly sculpted feet) and tidied up most of the chips and so on.



I still need to decide what to do with the cables and possibly add a green glow to his chaos star. I was initially worried about the missing original horn, but actually really like how his wonky horns have turned out now. I'm thinking of adding a fireball or something to replace his missing index/middle finger on his left hand. That said, I don't want to put too much work into the model, it's really only a counter for characters that have 'hulked out' thanks to the chaos champion table. I'm happy how his legs turned out; they are actually DP arms!!

I was really struggling with what to do for his black 'armor'. I'm not used to painting miniatures of this size. I ended up selectively applying a coat of gloss to hide my lack of talent, and was wondering if the effect turned out okay?

My Eaglemoss Batmobile turned up today. It looks pretty neat and around the right scale.





What's got me wondering though, is do I base it? The second pic there has it raised on some spare bases, where, if I got some proper ones (maybe like GW's flying base?), it might make it fit in more.

I also figure I might nuln oil the bare metal parts here to tie it all together..

Due to nieces handball tournament hobby time today was less than stellar(did get lots done on thursday-saturday though) but have worked upon on about 30 or so bases for my sons of horus.

These are eating the gale force 9 concrete rubble mix like desert water though. Need to order more I think. Need to base like over 70 infantry plus couple contemptor's so...

Also did quick airbrush test for blood angel model. Didn't turn out that well but maybe bit glaze/wash might help. Plus more practice. Maybe need to look at some other colours too. Khorne red+evil sunz scarlet might not be optimal.

ended up with two matches, Word bearers vs Bad moons, twice... lost one, "Tied" one. great time all around! space marines can be lucky and tough sob's. cultists...not so much, but hey, they die for the glory of chaos, so no worries.

Putting the finishing touches on Longstrike's Hammerhead.

Filing mould lines off of Tallarn model after Tallarn model... with a couple inquisitors and commissars thrown in the mix. Only 34 more to get onto bases and than I start on the 20 Roughriders and two Leman Russes. Joy haha.

I can't wait to start basing them, found a company that makes 25mm and 25x50mm round lipped bases, so that's what everything is going on.

Working on some French for my Alt-History WWII project. At this point I've started on a AMX Tank Destroyer, with plans for the conventional tank (when the parts show up). I'm going to have a look out for some of Warlord's Project Z Specs as well to use as armatures for soldiers in NBC suits with Gerat 06 rifles. Ah, see they're going to be Vichy French.

I'm at work tonight so I'll be assembling a Grant Armoured Troop for my 4th Edition Mid-War Desert Rats army.

Just varnishing some craters now, then I'll base them and those will be done. Need to prime the heroic base pack and get a couple of them painted up for my Custodes Tribune and Primaris Captain.

After that, I've got a Baneblade to finish and a Vindicaire Assassin on my desk.

Basing up more Sons of Horus and undercoated Horus himself! I'll paint that up next. And now I have extra pressure to paint him well as Forge World sent me replacement head for the one I had lost(mega thanks) and in return customer service guy asked for pic of finished model.

GULP! Already was model I had been dreading to paint as it's the one that drew me to Sons of Horus! I don't want to do it badly!

Finished up another 3 Grant tanks and started work on my last 4.

Finally unpacked my Raging Heroes Iron empire models and started working on my 8th Edition Sisters of Battle army!
I also have 2 proxy Rhinos from Miniature Scenery which I highly recommend!

Making excellent progress the last few days. Currently, I'm working on test models for my Custodes and Sisters of Silence. If I get those done, I'll probably get started on the terrain from the Shadow War box.

I'll finish assembling the three Reaver Jetbikes, my Succubus conversion and the last five Tau Pathfinders.

In the evening I will try and set up a small game with my Tau and Dark Eldar to get familiar with the 8th edition ruleset.

I just undercoated 15 marines... and then remembered you can't undercoat with GW sprays when the temperature climbs above 30º. Can I use alcohol to strip FW resin? Yes, these were FW minis.

Well, if the primer has stuck I do not see any reason to strip the models.

I use Simple Green or DOT 3 to remove paint from FW Resin EmberlordofFire8.

Applied the transfers and sealed the two Elysians.

So, today I got my first tournament win! Not many players and we weren't playing super competitive armies (I think I may have brought a shotgun to a knife fight...), but hey? I also bought some used minis and preordered my 8th edition stuff from my FLGS. If I do anything else with the hobby today, it's going to be putting some gold paint on Guilliman.

Making a Japanese Chi-Ri Tank Destroyer. Warlord Games sell a good few Japanese "paper panzers", but none of the heavy stuff unfortunately. The Chi-Ri was the Japanese equivalent to the Panther, though only one was built (which disappeared after it was sent off for inspection at Aberdeen). I'm making the planned casement mounted gun version.

Working on some BFG: no pics yet.

I just changed my password and email to random numbers to spend more time at the actual hobby.I might come back in a while with a new account once I have finished painting my orks Have fun guys : )

Finished 5 tartaros termies, started on HORUS and doing progress on 2 vindictor laser destroyer, sicaran and 2 contemptor dreadnought.

Multitasking? Yeah Keeps me sane in mass painting mode as I can switch between different models in different stages but still do large amount of similar task(all vehicles are progressing on same stage for example).

Organizing all of my DKOK bits since I now have the impetus to start getting my guard assembled and primed. Also need to see how my special weapons numbers are holding........

Anyone have any suggestions for a unit of conscripts that might fit with the DKOK range? One of the problems I am running into is that they are much smaller and proportional compared to the current guardsment line(cant wait to see them next to primaris marines) and most of the rest of the GW human line looks cartoonish next to them. Any advice for third party models that would fit as conscripts with the current DKOK? I definately cant afford to make a conscript squad or two from FW...

Ugh, a unit of 10 is only a few bucks cheaper than FW with the current exchange rates.....Maybe just bite the bullet while the exchange rate is good.....

I'm currently trying to write an overlord list but it's proving difficult because there's so much choice!

You could grab a few fist to check the scale. i dont have those models but i know vics stuff is quality.

I just finished unpacking from a move and don't really have a work space set up yet but I have a mighty need to assemble this guy. Its the Necrolith Colossus/Heirotitan leg kit from Rothand studios. Finally able to put my extra Necrosphinx bodies to use.

Received a big box of bases from Renedra so I can continue modelling now (I seem to build/paint so fast that I run out of bases without knowing it...which grinds EVERYTHING to a halt). I did just put some paint to some terrain platforms I'm working on for my 40K table actually - so that's something.

Successfully making terrain...unsuccessfully selling it, haha.

Started work on my Techpriest Domina after quite a hiatus from the brush. Starting off slowly, having primed the model yesterday, today I've washed all the metal bits black.

Pinning the arms of old Legend of the 5 Rings ashigaru spearman (Scorpion clan?) to their bodies, and gluing two new pre-primed WotC (I can't remember. New D&D mini two-pack, plastic, super-inexpensive) zombies to a bases.

First item is for my second Frostgrave warband (Japanese-themed), second item is for my first Frostgrave warband - the wizard earned a "Raise Zombie" grimoire during the last game.

The second zombie has some damaged armor that bears a passing resemblance (if you squint real hard and simultaneously delude yourself) that looks like a sode (samurai shoulder-armor) - which may be useful if I find another grimoire with the "Raise Zombie" spell inscribed for the new warband.

Spending £91.00 at the Post Office getting the Warhammerfest Loot to the buyers!

Note for the future - Bank Holidays play havoc when you're trying to get to the post office. And it's even worse when your friends repeatedly ambush you on your birthday weekend and drag you into various pubs.

Also considering expanding the scope of the group to provide willing UK based patsies for peeps in the colonies looking to score some non-insanely-priced toys.

If FW still sells the DKOK in blocks of 20 for that massive Guard Transport, quite a few people converted those cutting the troopers out and filling in the gaps with the weapons kit to make standing DKOK, they could fill in as conscripts. There was also a modeller over on WarSeer who sculpted and cast his own to make conscripts (I cannot remember if he was also selling his sculpts...they were mono-posed).

Speaking of cheaper FW alternatives, I just added my complete FW Tarantula replacement to my Elysian PLOG.


Almost finished painting the four remaining Elysian Drop Troopers. Only transfers and sealing left. Although with the new Force Organization it is likely that the Platoon Command Squad and Command HQ Squad will likely not be fielded very often as I have more than enough already. :(

Ordered some custom dice for my Eldar from Chessex, and I'm going to work on a Phoenix Lord and some more work on the platforms. Also considering going by Hobby Lobby for some plastic canvas and some more upholstery foam if I can find it.

Well, actually counted up my kriegers and I have 89 of them not including heavy weapons platforms.....

so most expensive conscript squad I can think of coming right up!!

Painting this beaty mostly. Bit work on couple vehicles and bases but mostly this one.

Armour and cloak highlights and fur on Sisters of Silence tonight.

Haha, thank you. It's cast urethane, so it's actually really tough to mess up. Maybe knock off some flock I suppose.

Does organizing bits and project bins around the newly remodeled gaming room/office count as doing something hobbywise?

As far as what I am will be working on next, I hope to be:
- finishing up my purchased Necrons,
- painting up a couple characters for my Space Marines for a coming Narrative Campaign,
- painting up my Ironjawz (finally!),
- cleaning up and prepping my big Reaper Bones 3 Kickstarter order when it comes in later this week.

And once I get some older models sold off, I hope to get the 8th Edition Starter Set and start up both a Death Guard and Primaris Marine army.

Doing the first stage of highlights on a Salamanders tactical squad.

Planning and loathing the thought of making a full sized display cabinet for my rack system.

Finished painting the four remaining Elysian Drop Troopers.

Now looking at the Taros Venator...

Yesterday total break except for finishing up First Heretic book so today continue painting Horus, Sicarian, Vindicator laser destroyer, contemptator and bunch of bases for infantry.

Phew. There's tournament coming end of july so I have pressure to get 2k points painted. So far done 30 tac marines plus HQ and 5 terminators. 10 veterans and 20 heavy support guy almost done. Luckily Horus is lots of points in single model. Unfortunately he takes time to paint.

Also 5 terminators and 5 justicaerin in various levels of completion.

Have my first game of 8th coming up tonight - 1,000 points of my Chaos vs. Orks.

Also doing basing and finishing touches on Sisters of Silence.

Did some touch up on the Avenger and built a case for it. Put together the Tauros.
