I don't even play chaos. ><
A friend of mine gave me a shirt with the 4 symbols of chaos on it, and I wore it today. I've had some irritating things happen, and have had a continual urge to scream "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!" and do something violent. Is it just me? Anyone else out there who finds an application for 40k in their lives?

With most first-person shooters, I usually mention there not being enough dakka... <Not sure if this exactly counts as everday life.><
My friend's senior quote was "For The Greater Good".
I don't really apply 40k in my life, I think your just crazy.

I think I might use a 40k quote for my yearbook, the hard part would be finding one the school would accept.
I do find myself pretending to be a Titan princeps a little too often. My most memorable experience was when I was taking a final exam. I finished the test and was daydreaming until it was time to turn them in. Ends up that I dreamed a little too long and I was the last one to get up. A classmate poked me on the shoulder and I jumped out of my seat shouting something to the effect of "Hard return, moderati get me a firing solution".
That got a few odd looks.

I use 40K quotes fairly often. Mostly "Only the insane have strength enough to prosper, and only those who prosper truly judge what is sane.", things like that. People think I'm quoting some ancient philosopher. I just chuckle and play along.

Four scholars at Oxford were making their way down the street, and happened to see a group of ladies of the evening. “What’s this?” said the first. “A jam of tarts?” “Nay,” said the second, “an essay of Trollope’s.” “Rather, a flourish of strumpets,” advanced the third. “No, gentlemen,” concluded the last. “Here we have an anthology of pros.” |

I have a friend who uses 'KILLMAINBURN' whenever someone commits tech heresy in front of him. We have pointed out the irony of this. Then again, he did fix my mp3 player by opening it, finding nothing wrong with it, closing it, still not working, pray to the Omnissah, and it suddenly came back to life.
Said friend also keeps calling me a heretic and threatening to turn me in to the Inquisition. >.> *grins*
I use the 'Only the insane have strength enough to prosper, and only those who prosper truly judge what is sane' quite a bit. Usually as justification of whatever I've just done.
'Blood for the blood god' said in a calm, dismissive manner whenever I cut myself doing hobby work. The tone of voice alone would piss off Khorne.
'They appreciate my handiwork. I hear their joy in every scream,' and other DE quotes tend to be be used far too much by me. And other quotes I use fit in with DE until it is hard to tell which is which...

I vaguely recall one drunken night where I pissed off all my friends as we were walking back through town to our halls by repeatedly saying things like "On Alert Brothers, the enemy must be nearby!" or "Ever vigilant..."
I've found myself saying "Zog it!" in day-to-day conversation.
Erm, FOR THE EMPEROR is obviously a must in all situations.

When my internet was acting up I referred to it as "the machine spirit is feeling sentimental"
When I welcome a friend to my house with "Welcome to the atrium brother, there is fenrisian ale on tap in the refectory."
When you start DREAMING that earth (as it is now) was inducted into the Tau empire.
"hope is the first step to disappointment" and "an open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded" are both common sayings.

I occasionally find myself, during especially thrilling action sequences in pack movie theaters saying things like "Wow, he rolled all 6's that time!" or "He had a 2+ and still missed?" Or if the bad guy just won't die "Damn, how many wounds does that sumbitch have anyway?" I once overheard somebody behind may say "How many 20's do you have to roll to not wiff that?".
